Pauk - "Shiawasena Fukushu" (4:24)
Perdi Rominger - "Empty Spot" (8:20)
Promising/Youngster - "Arbey" (5:32)
Review: There's lots to get your teeth stuck into on this new and blistering collection of electro from Adepta Editions. And don't let the title fool you - it's not all accessible summer festival fare, in fact none of it is. It is all head down and serious tackle. 7053M4R14's '4 N3W HUM4N' is a driving, dark, visceral sound with raw breakbeats powering through the cosmos. Rec_Overflow offers a moment to catch your breath with some slower, dubby rhythms on 'Pocket Dial' and Pauk explores twitchy future synths capes and post-human transmissions on 'Shiawasena Fukushu'. Promising/Youngster shuts down with a sense of optimism and hope with the airy melodies and slithering electro drum patterns of 'Arbey.'

Yossi Amoyal Presents Fluere IV
A1 People - "Do It" (Metamatics remix)
Kosmogonik - "Circuitry"
Silicon Scally - "Relay"
Matt Chester - "November Pathways"
CiM - "Recursive"
Review: Since Zip and Villalobos made it one of their coveted deep digs to be heard pealing out of a thousand after hours sessions, the Metamatics remix of A1 People has been a teasingly out of reach dream grab for many a minimal electro head. Now Yossi Amoyal has done the good deed of getting the track remastered and repressed as part of his Fluere series toasting 15 years of Sushitech. As well as that masterclass of elegant machine funk, there's also Kosmogonik's mind-bendingly brilliant 'Circuitry', Silicon Scally's body-popping electro-noir 'Relay' and Matt Chester's melancholic 'November Pathways' to keep your up-all-night marathon sets peppered with spangled surprises.

Review: Always a good week when some new RAND Muzik drops. The Leipzig imprint's brand of understated grooves are on fine display once again on this various artists EP. On RM 12015, feel the low-slung and funky dub of A2's 'Open Your Mind' which they follow up with some moody computer funk on the next track 'Entity'. Over on the B side, Andy Panayi serves up some dusty 303 shenanigans on 'Acidbend' in the vein of classic Cabinet Records and closing it out is Stopouts with the subterranean breaks of 'Pass Go'.

Review: BUILDINGS was born out of a creative merger between Detroit's 313 Acid Queen (Rebecca Goldberg) and Italian maestro Sickboy (Stefano Piseddu), their 4th and 2nd releases on Detroit Underground respectively. The duo have thoughtfully arranged a half dozen tracks inspired figuratively and literally by the landscape of Detroit. Working 7,000km and multiple time zones apart, having never met in person, their individual expressions intertwine in soundscapes reminiscent of techno's origin and exist in a way only capable in our present time. Devoted as ever to the roots of Detroit techno, Goldberg and Piseddu have built a magnificent album around the Detroit Map Series theme conceptualized by DU label founder Kero and designed by Neubau Berlin.

Review: Acid Sessions Vol. 3 is another white-knuckle journey into the world of acid with five top talents in the field all pushing their own limits. Acidulant opens with "Serpentacid' featuring hypnotic 303 grooves and relentless energy, then Sarufaromeo & Papaverhof deliver 'Acid Nihonshu' which blends atmospheric depth with chaotic acid vibes. G303 takes you beyond with 'Live Long and Prosper,' an interstellar anthem filled with cosmic acid and resonant grooves. Paul Renard closes with 'SO36' which is all about the fat rhythms and powerful dancefloor drive. Long live acid is what we say.

Arctor & Jay Hill - "Mercurial" (Silverlining remix) (9:30)
Ravi McArthur - "Here & Now" (Silverlining remix) (7:08)
Spook In The House - "Conspiracy" (6:14)
Review: Silverlining keeps up the pressure with his flawless series, hitting the tenth release in style with this batch of remixes he's sprinkled some metallic underground house magic over. First up is Arctor & Jay Hill's "Mercurial", which gets given a cavernous rub down, as brittle but mightily groovy percussion pirouettes around dubby inflections, whispered atmospherics and more besides. Ravi McArthur's "Here & Now" takes on a '90s tint as a killer phased lead hook and woozy pads bring the wiggle to Rizvi's limber deep house rhythm structure. "Conspiracy" by Spook In The House completes the set with a fractured ping into more experimental territory that sports a serious whiff of Stasis-esque psychedelia in its genetic make up.

KCLF - "Reloaded 9615"
Review: Undersound Recordings hit release number 15 with a various artist EP that packs four vital techno punches. Audio Quest's "The Mental Screen" kicks off with some old school techno that recalls the sound of legendary Dutch label Djax-Up. It's filled with metallic snare sounds and deep space bleeps. Jared Wilson of course brings the acid that has defined his output for years, and Sohrab get busy with a kicking number and some busy melody patterns. KCLF closes out with twisted bass and shiny chords that look back to go forwards with "Reloaded 9615".

Review: The twisted and trance-infused progressive techno sound of Les Disques De La Jungle is one we have been keen to hear more from, and here we have it: a new EP featuring some of the artists who have already dropped heat here. AV1 goes first with the crispy metal drums and warped synths of 'Meta2' then Fsk24 & Felix Dulac combine for the hammering tech-funk of 'Un Eclair Dans La Nuit' which would have been a Tyrant classic back in the day. Fsk24 then hooks up with Nils for the stomping and noen-lit jungle-tech of 'Toomai Des Elephants' before partnering with Solal Reyes for the tripped out but driving closer 'Tongue Twister'.

Review: New styles from the Pretension camp, following up from the awesome EPs by Justin Maxwell and The Diskchordians. Fresh from a trip back to Chicago, 1987, Jon (Bass Kittens) & Miguel (Single Cell Orchestra) laid down a track drawing on their love of acid house. Never leaving behind the stomp of pure acid, they added modern DSP trickery to produce a track that simultaneously pays homage to their roots while looking to the future. A layer of acid-inspired vocals from Mariette Marinus & MC Silly B Chill completes the picture. Kinda like Abe Duques' 303 excursions but with more of an electro edge.

Review: Coeur De Glace on DKO Records (DKO 34) delivers four fantastic electro tracks, each with unique influences and directions. Side-1 kicks off with Binary Digit's 'U Want Dis,' an exuberant, high-energy track that pays homage to old-school rave with its lively vocal samples. Review: For the label's first compilation, Cabaret Records has decided to introduce us to their Alien Family. By the sounds of the collection, they're a motley crew of studio mutants united by a love of creaking hardware, sci-fi synths and intergalactic dancefloor workouts. Happily, highlights are plentiful, from the acid-fired, bleep-heavy throb of S-Audio's "Remote Circuit" and weighty electro crackle of Binh's "Wova", to the dreamy underwater deepness of EK Box's "Watair" and the classic deep house/Detroit techno fusion of So Inagawa's futurist masterpiece "Solitary Affair". Evan Baggs's contribution, the TB-303 madness that is "AZS", is also superb.

Review: Blackhall & Bookless have been pursuing a fantastic strain of house and techno via their Jaunt label for many moons now. They're back and celebrating 10 years with a series of fantastic remixes that highlight the scope of their artistic vision, and that of those close to them. Inland leads in with an oceans deep version of the label bosses' "Spirit", which is smartly followed up by Jonas Kopp's equally submersive take on Hiver's "Itria". Szostek himself dons the well known BPMF alias again for some fierce breakbeat techno action on "Zu Heib Fur Uns", the equally legendary Healy brothers aka Somatic Response still going strong - as heard on the slo-mo acid trance journey "Strategy Of Desire" and relative newcomer Heidi Sabertooth of Opal Onyx delivers some sludgy electro-punk antics on "So You Want To Take Back Your Will". Review: Paris label Positive Future release positive music for positive people, but that doesn't hold them back a bit from concept-releasing V/As about future dystopias! "Once upon a time in a dystopian future", so the liners go, "humans are winning the battle against a zombie invasion" by fighting back, somehow, with their vinyl records (it's not stated explicitly, but we presume this means by playing them). "To defeat them forever and avoid a wicked future, DJs will have to join forces for a big party with every human still left standing." Of course, before the zombie plague, as far as sonic warfare went, military-grade sound design had been sanctioned for government use only, and the recording industries had precious little involvement. That all changes with producers Aline Brooklyn, Krol, Briki, Samuel Jabba and P.O., each of whom have reproduced and mass marketed their very own subsonic, antiviral weapon, of which there are four classes: A1, A2, B1 and B2. We choose B2, 'The Night', an instrument whose unsettling, garbled vocals and spine-tingling melodies make for, in our view, the best sonic zombie-away spray.

Review: Interdance is a new label tapping into the fruitful trancey tech house sound and its opening gambit features three artists doing great work within the sub-sub genre. Montevideo Electric main man Cabanelas is up first with the widescreen delights of 'Interdance', clearly an anthem of sorts for the label's direction. Then he links up with Soto for the more playful, acid-tickled workout 'Afilando La Faca' which could just as easily work at a warehouse rave as a conventional club. Mich takes over the B side with two contrasting cuts - the shimmering, transcendental '1937' and the synth-pop influenced 'Serotonina'. Along with the A-side tracks, they confirm Interdance as a new label to watch in this buoyant scene.

Review: Granada's Cosmic Tribe know the definition of "electro" in its broadest sense; their new Xtrictly Electro comp keeps the dystopian sound endemic to the genre's most present incarnation, but refuses to restrict itself to one tempo: the standard 130-ish that has sadly infected the otherwise genius genre as a necessity. An international splinter cell of spec-ops and mercenaries are recalled from retirement here, as we hear Calagad 13, Nachtwald, EC13 and many more mechanoid ilk lay down all manner of slick utilities, making up a morbid multi-tool. 5zyl brings further lasery Lithuanian steeze on 'Vilnius Bass', whilst Spectrums Data Forces betrays the existence of a sinister corporate entity, whose business model works towards the object of instilling 'Darkness In My Head' through giant, killer mozzy basses.

Melatron & Ancient Artefact - "I Get My Kicks" (6:53)
Review: The latest compilation album from COD3 QR is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity, featuring the usual wide range of electronic music, all handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X. The vinyl edition of this very latest edition of the compilation series - which was embarked upon in not long after the longstanding but mysterious label was revealed to be the fruits of the labours of this legendary duo, who had until then ran it incognito - comes as a condensed version of the digital, on which a terse seven tracks from the likes of Calibre, Seroplexx, Costello, Marcelus, Subground 3000, Lee Trax, Jim Rivers, Melatron and Ancient Artifact all appear. Though the label has set a high expectation with their admonition against "all expectations and all prejudices", they actually do extremely well to fulfil that aim. Most contributions here - from the steppy, sloppy 'Sump Dub to the just-plain-monstrous 'I Get My Kicks' - tend towards on the uncategorisable and unpigeonholeable, at least in terms of overtly boxed-in genre norms.

Review: The Demons & Desir EP, featuring techno producers Cruz, Scope, Amqn, Frnk, and Unsighted, offers a thrilling nod to late 80s and genesis of West European techno. Side-1 opens with C.ru.z's 'Big Jam,' a standout track blending forward-thinking nu-romantic techno with vibrant Italo house vibes, creating an 80s soundscape that's both nostalgic and innovative. Scope's 'Green Mesca' follows, delivering a hi-tech, flighty groove characterised by its addictive and fresh hard drum machine rhythm, making it a dance floor boom that makes people take notice. Side-2 kicks off with Amqn's 'Instinto Basico,' a heavy-hitting track rich in late 80s techno influences, including elements of EBM that add depth and intensity. Frnk's 'IDNG' offers a slower, urban techno groove with a distinct new beat style, perfect for setting a dark, atmospheric tone. Unsighted's 'Span Of Life' closes the EP with a light industrial feel reminiscent of Manufacture, Meat Beat Manifesto and Cabaret Voltaire, adding an edgy, avant-garde touch. Lumbago Records are their reissuing rivals; hailing from France, this anonymous pair focus on rereleasing long-lost dance cuts from the crates, new and old, compiling them into short EPs. Scratchy electro and breaks bits from EFX and Samix time travel all the way from 1991 ('Technique Amiga' sounds like it's lifted straight from an early Lara Croft soundtrack), and are reconciled with two tracks made in the last 5 years - and one bang in between from 2001, The Ruffneck's 'Phase Shift'. Review: For the fourth volume in their tenth anniversary series, Dekmantel has decided to go all-out electro. Wisely, they've recruited scene legend the Egyptian Lover to kick things off. His "This That Old Skool" is an unashamed romp through early '80s nostalgia, with the eccentric producer peppering a sturdy TR-808 beat pattern with exotic synth lines, "Tour De France"-style heavy breathing and raw vocoder vocals. Syracuse and Epsilove wrap their skittish electro beats in chiming melodies, trippy acid lines and dreamy vocal snatches ("Scubatomic Love"), while Palms Trax necks a fistful of anti-depressants and delivers the pure endorphin rush that is the melodious and spacey "Honey Lemongina". The compilation-style EP is led by Elias, who impresses with the hybrid electro/techno/acid brilliance of 'Dance Deceiver', whose moody motifs, sci-fi chords and twisted acid lines are enticing in the extreme. Stigma then steps up with the retro-futurist electro urgency of 'End of the Data' - all mutant sounds, body-popping beats, fizzing synth sounds and vintage EBM chords - before label regulars Do Or Die join the dots between TB-303 fired insanity and Nitzer Ebb on 'Drk101'. Review: Analog Concept Vol. 3 delivers a striking collection of forward-thinking deep techno, blending electro, acid, and sci-fi elements to push boundaries across its four tracks. Fasme opens with 'Crying Robot', a standout acid electro monster that's both raw and energetic, setting the tone with its sharp, robotic intensity. Side-2 kicks off with Unwonted's 'Frontier', a high-energy electro track laced with trance elements, adding a hypnotic, rave-ready vibe. Serge Geyzel closes the compilation with 'Flash', a heavy-hitting deep electro cut that dives into darker, alien soundscapes. Its deep techno undercurrents enhance the track's sense of foreboding and mystery. Overall, Analog Concept Vol. 3 captures a thrilling array of deep, futuristic sounds. Take a journey through techno's more experimental and atmospheric realms with this Russian label. Each track stands strong on its own while contributing to the cohesive, forward-thinking vision of the compilation.

Review: Corsican label Isula Science drop a fresh brooder of previously unknown electro knowns, this time from label founder Flash FM alongside HDV, Sweely and Man/ipulate. Spanning vertiginous dark acid, then moving on through to dreamatic neon breakbeat and expedient Italo - 'Vol de nuit' especially makes signature use of a classic slap bass synth - they've got us entirely covered here. Enticing bumps in the night from the exquisitors.

Review: The Flesh or Die label launches with a stark statement of intent from five electro innovators operating right at the sharp end. Flotation Aid takes charge to start off with and offers a sound that is both busy and densely packed with sound and texture, but also serene and calming thanks to the background synth glow. Vlaysin's 'Open Your Mind' is something of a nightmarish sound which will have you on edge throughout and Sestrica then brings some more classic electro tropes to 'Ssense' with its snappy drums and celestial melodies. Proxyan & Lewski's 'Cereology' shuts down with some wonky wonderfulness.

Review: The latest instalment in Pinkman's white label Broken Dreams series is a collaborative affair with imprint affiliate Identified Patient joining forces with vocalist Sophie Du Palais, who has previously contributed to one of the producer's other EPs. Du Palais is in full on mascara-clad minimal wave mode on trippy opener "Peaceful Panic", a throbbing fusion of raw synthesizer riffs, mind-altering arpeggio lines and crunchy drum machine hits. Her stylish spoken word vocals come to the fore on dark and psychedelic electro number "Sleep Without Rest", before Lasznikoff joins in the fun on closer "Everything is Done", a fuzzy and up-tempo workout rich in macabre, low-register riffs, incessant percussion hits and trippy, late night aural textures.

The compilation kicks off with the skittish percussive patterns of Illektrolab's 'Making Heads Dip', then heads into moody ground with ADJ, Pablo Funk brings some menacing synth work and Errorbeauty gets all weird and trippy with some mad electronics. Francois Dillinger offers a dystopian electro sound full of irresistibly jacked-up drums. A fine investigation indeed.

Review: Flight Mode Records' fifth release offers a riveting exploration of futuristic techno landscapes with four distinct tracks from formidable artists. Innuendo's 'Reise Ins Zentrum Der Zeit' kicks off the first side with pulsating rhythms and a progressive build, evoking a journey through time with its driving energy. Following suit, Five Ten's 'Control' harks back to early 90s techno with a robust beat and bleepy melodies, giving listeners with its nostalgic charm. On Side-2, Mono-Tone presents 'Night Spirits,' an enthralling piece featuring a heavy acid line enveloped in ethereal echoes, accompanied by a subtle electro undertone that adds depth to the track's atmosphere. Closing the release, SPAC's 'My Galaxy Is Not Yours' injects upbeat energy with trance elements, inviting listeners on a cosmic voyage filled with pulsating rhythms and hypnotic melodies. Review: Ital's Lovers Rock label makes its first appearance of 2016, in the process offering up a quartet of fresh new cuts. It's arguably nowhere near as bleak and foreboding as you'd expect, with DJ Python's yearning IDM cut "Amazonia", in particular, delivering little less than melodic melancholia. Ital, too, is in a relatively positive mood (see the fluttering new age synths and druggy, bottom end throb of "Vacation"), though Gunnar Haslam flips the script completely on his titanium-clad, clandestine electro smasher "Vector No Campo". Sleeper Cell's ultra-deep, trippy ambient cut, "V", completes a fine package.

Review: James T. Cotton, Gosub and Versalife all feature on the third and penultimate instalment of Cultivated Electronics' World Electronix series. Established last summer, the series allowed the London based Cultivated Electronics the chance to champion contemporary electro from an international cast, with The Exaltics, prolific Finnish producers Morphology and Abstract Forms label chief Deixis included on the previous two volumes. This 12" is by far the most high profile however, with Nation alumnus James T Cotton turning in a tough analogue dreamer "In Transit" under the recently shorn down JTC banner, continuing the form shown on full EPs for Killekill, Hoya Hoya and newcomers Ansatz this year. Alongside this are contributions from Boris Bunnik's Versalife project, the Miami-based Shad T. Review: Berlin's In The Dark Again does not stick to one particular style or genre of music, and this is precisely what we've loved about their output thus far. Artists such as Heinrich Dressel, Ekoplekz, and even In Aeternam Vale have appeared on the label, but number four in the series marks the arrival of a few new names. First up on the A-side is June with "Between 2 Fires", a tune that sends cold waves through metallic electro beats; this is followed by the first cut from Beta Evers, the beautifully wonky techno cut entitled "Don't Believe It". Evers is back on the B1 with "Endzeitvision", an acid-laced stomper complete with mesmerising background cinematics, while SSRI drops a whole load of cerebral sonics on his "Storage Capabilities" tune - odd, broken, and perfectly gloomy.

Review: London's Brokntoys hit double figures and do it in style with the Perfect Language 12" which canvasses another cross section of electro's finest. Artmechanical boss Junq is up first, with the gloriously squelchy acid electro stylings of "303 Days On Kepla-47c" which stands up well against the more unhinged Lowlands approach of Syncom Data's "UnphAzD" (Strings Attached mix). Kami O's 'Blutak' rides on lurching rhythms that sway up and down with great force as percussion percussion and wiry electronics bring it to life. smiff's 'Blinker' is a broken beat with thudding kick and hits and clanging metallic sounds while Sweet Philly's 'Acid Siren Tool' is a raved-up jam ready to blow up the dance floor. Review: Following a fine solo EP from Jonas Friedlich, the Molten Moods label returns to type with another compilation style EP featuring a quartet of cuts from their growing roster of artists. Kessel Vale kicks off proceedings with the lightly melodic, becalmed electronic experimentalism of "Voguing Geisha", before Skee Mask unfurls the Autechre-does-deep-dubstep flex of "Fanta Ocean" with a little assistance from label co-founder Jonas Yamer. On the flipside, Konrad Wehrmeister layers drifting, melancholic melodies over heavy sub-bass and skittish electro beats, while Jonas Yehmer joins the dots between spaced-out dub techno and out-of-this-world ambient on "Insgeheim". The first release is a powerful statement of intent that draws together a crack team of sonic explorers who are all hell bent on blowing up the dance floor. The brand of extra the opener explores is industrial and mechanical, with Kim Cosmik's 'The Ascent' twisting metal and contorting synths into a ragged rhythm. In the main room, you can expect the energy to be big and imposing, which Jonathan Kusuma clearly understands as he throws down the big bad thrust of "Energi Hall". Review: Tom Joyce's, Paris-based Sounds Benefit came through last year, and we're glad to see the label back and healthier than before thanks to the addition of two new names to the catalogue; oh, and there's an opening remix by German deep house stalwart Iron Curtis, a bouncy, penetrative version of Leaves' "Alley 4". That tidy lil' banger is followed by Tom Joyce's own "Roland In Space", an electro-leaning firebomb that wouldn't sound out of place in the middle of a DJ Stingray set, but things take a different turn on the flip. Newcomer Stojche bursts through the place with the high-tech, late-night synth melter that is "Subway Stress", and "Time Is Destiny" by Ben Cohen goes for a rugged, hybrid kind of techno sound that is supported by a menacing bubble of low frequencies. SICK TIP.

Review: The snappily titled World Electronix Remixes 12? does what it says on the tin, presenting remixes of tracks from the World Electronix series that Cultivated Electronix ran across four 12"s over the course of a year. Within this series, Shad T. Scott, JTC, Gerard Hanson, The Exaltics and Boris 'Versalife' Bunnik were amongst the names that contributed to each loosely themed record, it dark, acidic, deep or twisted electro. Review: Deeply concerned with the here and now versus sister label Was/Is' electro archaeology, Is/Was delivers the goods once again with this various artists 12" zeroed in on the Pittsburgh scene. You can feel the Steel City tension reverberating in Naeem's edgy beatdown "Forward Facing", while Hits Only takes things in a slightly cleaner, modernist direction that aligns with some of the UK soundsystem interpretations of electro that have emerged in recent years. Shawn Rudiman takes control for the B side with two jams that tip their cap to the veteran producer's long and accomplished career, but they sound as fresh as anything else on the record too. Kern Vol. 3: The Exclusives sees contributions from accomplished electro technicians Clatterbox and Polzer as well as Bristol's rising Shanti Celeste and Via App of 1080p fame.
