Review: Richard Cheese is a lounge music legend. He has various trademarks such as his tiger-striped tuxedo and his enormous microphone, as wells his snappy jazz trio. They make for mix of music and martini vibes and back in 200 they dropped their debut album Lounge Against The Machine, wittingly named in reference to iconic rockers Rage Against The Machine. The album is now reissued and features original "early" versions of some favourite Cheese songs, all of which were later re-recorded with a real live big band feel but here retain a more real and raw edge.

Review: Doctor Explosion returns with a surprise: they sing in Catalan! This limited-edition single features two tracks - one is a remake of their early classic 'Baby Please Go' (now titled 'Ves-te'n Si Us Plau') and the other is a cover of 'Perdo L'esma', an adaptation by Barcelona's Eurogrup of James Brown's' I'll Go Crazy.' Review: Electronic funk eclectics Skeewiff deliver their take on the classic folk song Misirlou on this 7". The average plebeian music fan will know this melody from Black Eyed Peas' hit song Pump It, but only real heads know of the melody's true hazy origins as a bazaar-style ditty from the Eastern Mediterranean (and now you do too), cropping up in the early 20th Century - or perhaps even earlier - in the context of tsifteteli and belly dances. Skeewiff's version is pumping and spacious, mixed effortlessly to provide the utmost focus on the surf-rocky lead guitar, recalling Dick Dale's version from 1962. Of course, too, there's a cover of The Winstons' Amen Brother on the B.
