Review: Derek Carr's reputation as a treasured force in UK deep techno is well established now, at least compared to before his mammoth reissue campaign with For Those That Knoe began. Label and artist deliver once again, this time with a mammoth quadruple pack vinyl that gathers together some of the best digital-only releases Carr has put out. This package is incredible value for money, positively overflowing with thoughtfully rendered sci-fi soul that will keep you returning to make new discoveries for years to come. Whether it's the aqueous funk of "Angels" or the airy electro of "25th," every one of these 17 tracks is gold.

  3. Untitled (7:03)
  4. Isolate(For Pav) (7:55)
Review: Remote_ is a criminally overlooked figure in techno, held in high regard by those tuned in to his sublime, deep diving approach. Meanwhile is a label that's been hip to his sound since the early 00s, putting out a couple of immaculate 12"s and now finally following up with this stunning fresh transmission of heavy dubbing, smokers choice beatdowns. There's a delicate house throb pulsing through these jams, but the slithering beats are mere vessels for gorgeous swathes of woozy pads and submerged basslines - this is refined and understated deep techno elegance for connoisseurs to melt down into.

Keepin' Herb EP
Keepin' Herb EP (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: PPL 01. Rel: 18 Mar 19
  1. Herb Rhythm - "People!" (5:12)
  2. Keepin’ Soul - "Scram!" (6:30)
Review: The purest garage label in operation right now, Plastik People fire off a crucial double A side here featuring two underground operators that know how to keep garage sounding fresh as a daisy. Herb Rhythm is up first, and he's got the Todd Edwards style of snappy micro sampling and MK's sassy midi sax down to a T - "People!" is a joyous, bouncing jam impossible to stay still to. On the flip, Keepin' Soul take things deeper with some sweet piano chords and a wandering bassline, but once again this is all about true school garage for the heads.

Review: A seminal slab of tribal house in its truest form, massive at nights like Body & Soul and consistently drawn for ever since; Joe Claussell's rare remix of his own group Instant House's 92 cult cut "Awade" gets a limited treatment on the Jungle Sounds reissue series. Still just as humid, sexy and bewildering with its rattling percussion, powerful vocal textures and rolling bassline, all laced together with Joe's perennial spiritual signature, this still sounds incredible 27 years down the line. And it comes complete with the previously unreleased "Drum Box Demo" and a selection creative mix tools. An incredible 45, grab it while you can.

  4. Some Day (5:44)
Review: Back in 2016, Crackazat created a bespoke EP for Z Records in which he blended vocal acapellas from the label's archives with his own jazz-fired deep and soulful house grooves. Three years on, he's decided to repeat the exercise, in the process serving up four more killer cuts. He begins by layering Sunburst Band vocals atop bouncy pianos and rich Latin house instrumentation on "Fly Away", before effortlessly joining the dots between deep house, disco and jazz-funk on the superb "Crystal Eyes". "I'll Be There" is a colossal slab of gospel-tinged revivalist New Jersey garage smothered in weighty organ riffs, while "Some Day" offers a deeper and jazzier spin on the same retro-futurist sound.

Review: Fans of stripped-back, minimalist techno - particularly the Eastern European variant focused around Romania's thriving scene - will happily tell you that every release from Christi Cons and Vlad Caia's Sideways Invisibility Theory project (AKA SIT) is worth checking. This, a double-pack containing half of the tracks from their new album (a second part is also available) is certainly noteworthy. It features a quintet of trippy, low-slung late night workouts seemingly designed to operate in the cracks between tech-house and minimal techno. There are naturally subtle variations throughout - a nod to dub techno here, a psychedelic acid line or dreamy deep house texture there - but throughout, their focus remains firmly on wonky early morning workouts.

Cat: RB 075. Rel: 20 Mar 19
  1. Peace Bird (8:37)
  2. Smiling Into Eternity (6:45)
  3. Rymd01 (6:20)
Review: The Swedish deep house duo of Alexander Berg (Dorisburg) and Nils Krogh (Arkajo) aka Genius Of Time are back outside of their established Aniara imprint for the second time on Running Back since 2014's Juno Jam EP. It has been a long time between drinks, with Krogh pursuing some great solo stuff as Arkajo and Berg performing in Sebastian Mullaert's Circle Of Live. This terrific new EP features the bittersweet "Peace Bird" that follows through with warm Rhodes keys, woody percussion and an all-round lo-slung swagger. The spacey and understated "Smiling Into Eternity" follows through on the B side, followed by the reduced and emotive disco of "Rymd01". Great stuff once again by the Gothenburg-based duo.

  4. Jazzy Day (Patrice Scott remix) (5:34)
Review: After a strong opening bout, Chubby! steps back in the ring with more quality-assured deep house roundhouses from heavyweight prize fighters. Trinidadian Deep did such a fine job on the first Chubby! they've invited him back to unfurl a transcendent wooze of tumbling percussion and heady organ tones. Vincent Floyd steps up on remix duties, turning "Rebel Fract" into a more sharply rendered strutter buoyed by the original's radiant synths. Detroit don Javonntte drops in on the B side with the utterly classy "Jazzy Day", which funks and bumps with an unmistakable Motor City ruffness and some gorgeous melodic flexing over the top. Patrice Scott then steps in for a remix that finds the veteran producer wriggling into a stunning house shuffle with a piano line to die for.

  4. A Moment To Breathe (7:09)
Review: Caldera has been previously spotted on WNCL Recordings amongst other establishments, so you know he comes with a certain stamp of quality for rough and tumble hi-jinx in the more interesting corners of proper party music. He lands on the blossoming Boogie Box label with a diverse package that leads in with the percussive trysts of "Akman's Rhythm" and then swerves into the fractured minimal dub exercise "Old Hands". "Anaconda Legs" is a twitchy, atmospheric slow strutting house cut that sits right with the offbeat minimal crowd but actually sports a rich and expressive sound and FX palette. "A Moment To Breathe" blows up the dub touches across the EP and goes into full head-nodding meditation mode, and it's fantastic.

  4. Secret Garden (4:02)
  5. Shifting Sands (5:06)
Review: As one of the driving forces in the irrepressible Faze Action, Robin Lee has more than proven himself in the fields of disco, house and funk over the years. His solo baby, Rudy's Midnight Machine, is increasingly carrying some of his most vital work to date, and this latest transmission on Faze Action is a prime case in point. This is effervescent, '80s-informed groove business of the highest order, leading in with the instrumental boogie delights of "Camera Dans La Nuit" before launching into the jazz funk inflections of "Une Vie Elegante." "La Cadenza" has a breezy Balearic feel to it, while "Secret Garden" takes things to the most chilled end of the Ibicenco style. "Shifting Sands" is the consummate finishing move, moody and introspective, hopelessly romantic, and subtly funky.

Review: Politics Of Dancing is back with another upfront slab of peak time house grooves for those that know, representing the vitality of Paris' scene now and always. "I Take You There" has everything the crowd needs to get down - fulsome, rounded bass, steadfast, simmering drums and the psychotropic flutter of synths dancing across the top of the mix. "Got Your Back" is more of a roller thanks to its own low end ruminations and bolder leads, equally adept at doing the business at a different time of night. iO Mulen is on hand for a remix of "I Take You There" which bounces all over the B side in a trippy haze of minimal house perfection.

  4. Sitting In A Tree (Time Flies) (6:21)
Review: It's been a while since we saw a decent reissue of material relating to Psychick Warriors Of Gaia, and no doubt there's plenty of great material to mine out there. Thankfully Platform 23 are on hand and turning their attention to Robbert Heynen's work as Exquisite Corpse, which peaked in the early to mid-'90s. Drawing on a range of EPs from that time, Between Rhythms I is loaded with heady, psychedelic fare hovering in a liminal zone between primal techno, proto trance and something more mystical altogether. "Inner Rhythm (Higher World Mix)" is a prime candidate for wigged-out dance moves and eyes-closed reveries, while "Kupuri" takes things slower and deeper. "X-Out" is a minimalist, rugged, acid-flecked beast, and "Sitting In A Tree (Time Flies)" presents the kind of off-kilter techno you might expect to hear from Terrence Dixon.

  4. Gig In The Ocean (5:41)
Review: Zouk-loving Gallic eccentrics The Pilotwings have been relatively quiet since wowing the world with their deliciously Balearic, '80s-influenced debut album "Les Portes Du Brionnais" in 2016. In fact, this outing is only their second release of note since. There's a wonderfully intergalactic, out-there feel to chugging opener "Trance En Aubrac", where synthesizer flute solos and sparkling electronic washes ride a chunky bassline and swinging, electro-influenced drums. "Futur Glouglou" sounds like it could have appeared on the soundtrack to a low-rent, acid-fuelled early '80s sci-fi film, while "Yakado" is a throbbing, floor-friendly re-make of an obscure Japanese dancefloor workout from the tail end of the '80s. If that lot's not bonkers enough for you, feel free to check the impossible-to-pigeonhole brilliance of closing cut "Gig In The Ocean".

  1. Salmon Spungcake (Conrad McDonnell Zip It Shrimpy mix) (6:52)
  2. Salmon Spungcake (Conrad McDonnell I Think I've Got Gout mix) (7:21)
Review: "Salmon Spungcake" was one of the last things Claremont 56 super-group Bison recorded before the sad passing of two of its' founder members, Holger Czukay and Ursula Kloss in the summer of 2017. Two years on from its initial release, Bison members Ben Smith and Paul 'Mudd' Murphy (also label boss) have decided to get it remixed, with original producer Conrad McDonnell (he of Idjut Boys fame) providing two suitably heavy dub disco interpretations, making this the band's first release since the passing of Czukay and Kloss. Check first the spacey A-side hypnotism of the "Zip It Shrimpy Mix", where melancholic chords and spaced-out vocal snippets wrap around a particularly percussive dub disco groove. Arguably even better is the stripped-back, bass-heavy and reverb-rich "I Think I've Got Gout Mix", which sounds like it was tailor-made to manipulate mangled minds at four in the morning.

  1. Mystic Warrior (6:52)
  2. Elements (6:20)
  3. Worries In The Dance (4:31)
  4. Earth People (6:39)
Review: After two years spent flirting with the Good Morning Tapes and Second Circle labels, Parisian producer Dang-Khoa Chau returns to the warm bosom of regular home Antinote Recordings. Title track "Mystic Warrior" is every bit as melodious and emotion-rich as his previous outings, with chiming synthesizer melodies, starry chords and tropical samples rising above a chunky, loose-but-locked-in groove. "Elements" is a little more alien sounding but no less humid, with new age style lead lines tumbling down over a loved-up drum machine groove, while the sub-heavy "Warriors In The Dance" brilliantly breaks up the beats and ratchets tropical tropes. If that's not enough to set the pulse racing, "Earth People" sounds like an unlikely jam between Steve Reich, Vangelis and early '90s ambient house sort Tetsu Inoue.

Review: Chaos In The CBD brothers Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales begin 2019 by serving up another essential two-track missive on the In Dust We Trust imprint they launched in early 2017. A-side "Orange Blank" is wonderfully warm, atmospheric and evocative, with the New Zealand duo peppering a chunky, bongo-laden breakbeat groove with rich bass and wave upon wave of loved-up, glassy-eyed chords (think turn-of-the-90s Italian Dream House with a dash of 808 State and Mood Hut thrown in). You'll find more sunrise-ready deep house warmth on the flip, where gently pulsing chords, undulating synth bass, fluttering electronics and sharp TB-303 acid lines combine brilliantly on "Green Dove".

Review: There's something brilliantly unfussy and matter-or-fact about Matthew Farrow's latest outing as Kepler, which marks his first appearance on no nonsense Mulen sub-label Hoarder. The four collected cuts are subtly varied and all aimed squarely at the dancefloor, with Farrow striking a near perfect balance between rolling dancefloor hypnotism, funk-fuelled glitch-house and bottom-heavy peak-time intent. We're particularly enjoying the spacey and ultra-deep swing of "Self Hypnosis" and the weighty, stripped-back pump of opener "Few Days' - a track built around little more than fluid sub-bass, crunchy drums and metallic electronic riffs - but the organ-powered, U.S garage-influenced tech-house bump of "French Lessons" is not far behind.

Review: Euphoria Records has a legacy that reaches back to the mid-90s and releases from artists such as Omni A.M. and Mark Ambrose. Now the label is back in action with some killer minimal house fare from emergent Maltese talent Mato. This new single kicks off with the sophisticated swing of "Gozo Carnival", which capitalizes on an economical approach to the arrangement to devastating effect. "Euphoria Jamz" is a busier production with layers of wriggling synths bouncing around another shuffled beat. "Where's The Chutney?" keeps things rubbery and freaky, with the jack level up high and the tweaked out sounds plentiful in the mix, rounding out a distinctive and infectiously fun club 12".

Cat: DISCO DIECISEIS. Rel: 25 Feb 19
  1. Liquido (Marc Pinol remix) (9:44)
  2. Liquido (9:05)
Review: "Liquido" began life as a jam between Hugo Capablanca and Oklo Gabon with sax player James Ausfahrt and percussionist Satch Hoyt in the mix. It was recorded in a sauna room above erstwhile Berlin club Stattbad, only to be rejected by a label for not being catchy enough. After 10 years languishing on a hard drive, the tune finally receives a proper airing with a remix to boot, and it's a good thing too. Marc Pinol did his remix back when he heard the original tune, and he brings the skronky live feel of the session to the foreground while running a bubbling rhythmic undercurrent underneath to lock in the dancers. The original is a more forthright affair with a punchy monosynth bassline and a distinctly New York no wave bent that should have the more open minded parties of today freaking out aplenty.

Review: SlothBoogie, the London-based record label are back with their fifth instalment in their edit series. These lo-slung disco jams are exactly the sort of business you can expect their DJ crew to be throwing down at their much loved party series. First up we have Carlo with the super sexy and looped-up guitar licks of "Jumba Jooki" followed by Melbourne's Cassettes For Kids with the late night deepness of "No More Faith". This time the gauntlet is thrown down by the increasingly prolific DJ Normal 4, who wields some of his signature breakbeats over a cheeky synth that nods to Da Hool for a dark and deadly roller. Melbourne label Kyoku is the latest outpost to carry his funky wares, and "The Juuc Miks EP" leads in with the sumptuous delights of "Strygere & Klaver," which then gets swiftly remixed into a peppy deep house jam by Joe Corti. Review: Whut!? DJ Qu, Peven Everett and Josh 'Blaze' Milan on a cut together? That's correct the latest Strength Music transmission pairs up label boss Qu with two of house music's most iconic names in Everett and Milan for the A Side two parter "The Way". On the opening version, Everett's fragile vocal, is the perfect foil for one of Qu's deeper spacious arrangements which is blessed by Milan's key playing skills, with the latter element even more prominent on 'part two'. Face down and it's DJ Qu in solo mode for the excellent "Liquid" which sees a mainframe of clipped percussion and gurgling analogue basslines lifted towards the stars by the most wondrous of Utopian synth patterns and gurgling analogue basslines. Do check the accompanying heads down, bugged out "Liquid Beats" version too. Big release from NYC!

Review: Some two years after dropping his debut album, "Broken Knowz", Jay Daniel delivers a follow-up. Interestingly, the fast-rising Detroit producer opted to move away from his usual club sound on "Tala", recently telling Resident Advisor that it was, "an invitation to know me outside of DJing". It's as deep, jazzy and musically rich as you'd expect, with Daniel flitting between jazz-funk/broken beat fusion, spacey ambient soundscapes, head-nodding hip-hop beats, intergalactic R&B instrumentals, super-smooth beatdown fare and the kind of hushed, glassy-eyed grooves that are best enjoyed while lying flat on your back at six in the morning.

3K2018 (Karizma & DJ Kemit mixes)
Cat: 3K2018 LIMITED. Rel: 24 Jan 19
  1. Flacko - "Lonely Town" (Karizma rework) (6:38)
  2. Robert Glasper - "Enoch's House" (DJ Kemit remix) (7:03)
  3. Guy - "Groove Me" (KZRekchampma club mix - part 1 & 2) (8:55)
Review: There's been little information released about this three-track EP, though we do known that it's the work of "a classic US label going incognito". Whatever the source, what counts is the quality of the music; happily, the EP is impeccable. Leading the charge is Karizma, whose remix of Flacko's "Lonely Town" is a breezy, soft-focus chunk of modern soul/broken house fusion smothered in hazy synthesizer chords and slowly strummed Latin guitar breakdowns. DJ Kemit dances towards peak-time floors with a wonderfully emotion-rich house version of jazz pianist Robert Glasper's "Enoch's House" built around similarly tropical drums, while KZRekchampma's glorious flipside club revision of Guy's "Groove Me" sits somewhere between bass-heavy UK house, soul-powered New Jersey garage and revivalist synth-boogie.

  4. Be Dub 2 (4:01)
Review: The unstoppable house machine Nail is back once more on his 89:Ghost label with a grip of killer drops previously only available online. His advice is to "spark up a zug and chew on these meaty badboys", and we'd be inclined to agree. There's a heady, trippy quality to "Happen Dub" that suits all heavy lidded situations, while "Ese Dub" channels a few rugged bleep traits that hark back Nail's roots in DIY Discs and the free party scene. "Feets Dub" channels some sublime funk sampling that would sound right at home amongst the Detroit house grandmasters, and "Be Dub 2" takes things interstellar with some swirling, churning dub techno chords of the highest calibre.

Review: We are always excited when something new emerges on North Yorkshire based Crow Castle Cuts, who present some super deep 303 house and techno excursions here on this double 12". Tape Hiss gently ease us into the EP with melodic and dreamy opener "Fade", before Manchester based producer and DJ No Moon (Fred Shepherd) serves up some deep and emotive electro with standout cut "Last Track @ 64" and Golden Pudel resident and all round Hamburg legend RVDS (Richard von der Schulenburg) presents three versions of the 303 acid epic "Strings Of Black", followed by the sunset balearica of "Turtle Real".

Mitchell's Fold (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: DEFP 018. Rel: 05 Mar 19
  1. Mitchell's Fold
  2. Fontaine Bleau
  3. Swelted
Review: London's Default Position label has thus far released music by Sebastian Mullaert, Terry Francis and many more. Now El Choop and Tim Gee step up to the plate with two seriously deep immersions. Bristol-based producer El Choop has previously popped up on a tape release with Heavenchord and also released a solo 12" last year on Etui, while this single marks Tim Gee's first outing to date. The two sound utterly at home in the dub house furrow they're digging into, leading in with the cavernous echo chamber meditations of "Mitchell's Fold" before slipping into the slightly more energised "Fontaine Bleau." "Swelted" graces the B side with the most upfront set of drums on the record, while maintaining the shimmering elegance of the dub chords that permeate the other two tracks.

Essential Selections Volume 2 (reissue)
  1. Evidence Of The 5th Green Foot (11:14)
  2. Equality Of Patience (5:11)
  3. Questions Comments (6:39)
Review: This second studio hook-up between Detroit veterans Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman first appeared way back in 2002, some three years after they made their collaborative debut on Sound Signature. Listening again all these years on, we can confirm that the three-tracker hasn't aged a bit. Check, for example, epic A-side "Evidence Of The 5th Green Foot", a near 12-minute, ultra-deep workout built around rich bass, lo-fi electric piano motifs and swinging, jazz-fired house beats. Elsewhere, "Equality Of Patience" is a deliciously druggy and heavily percussive peak-time throb-job, while "Questions Comments" is the kind of spaced-out, drum machine driven deep house box jam that both producers do so well.

  3. Spinach, Mystery & Insult (7:43)
  4. Sticky Snails (2:13)
Review: Asad Rizvi's Silverlining return to form (and archive purge) continues unabated with this latest instalment on his label. The tech house originator kicks off this ninth part in the Silverlining Dubs series with a fresh production, the stripped back and highly technical "Groundhog Rave". It's followed up by an older jam originally released on Eukahouse back in 1997. "Stolen Baggage" is a sweet, poignant club track with lingering keys that positively melt between the snaking beats. "Spinach, Mystery & Insult" brings things back to the here and now with a shimmering set of drums and sonar bleep synths aimed squarely at the deep end. Brief diversion "Sticky Snails" completes the package with a surprise foray into kosmische-inspired territory, pointing to the diversity tucked away in this seasoned producer's repertoire.

Inspiration
Cat: VISIO 024. Rel: 21 Mar 19
  1. Inspiration (8:35)
  2. Innersoul Voyage (10:03)
Review: The latest missive on Alex Attias' revitalized Visions Inc. label comes courtesy of Thomas Arroyo AKA L'Aroye, a producer whose outings on Faces Records and Magic Black caught the ear of many deep house DJs. It's something of a doozy, too, with L'Aroye serving up two sparkling workouts that are almost rush-inducing in their layered melodiousness and rhythmic shuffle. The headline attraction is undoubtedly A-side "Inspiration", where Latin house beats are wrapped in squiggly P-funk motifs, talkbox vocals, rich chords and sun-kissed, Kai Alce style flourishes. "Innersoul Voyage" is an altogether deeper but arguably heavier affair, where dreamy chords, rich bass and blissful melodic motifs slowly rise above a particularly percussive, Osunlade style rhythm track.

Review: The ever on-point Kimochi crew has described this label debut from talented Finn Lauri Saine as "a deceptively simple series of compositions that rewards deeper listening". We get what they're saying. One of the EP's greatest strengths is the way the intricate details and subtle layers of Saine's productions creep up on you on the third, fourth or fifth listen. It gives all four cuts a super-deep feel, putting them somewhere between lovely warm-up workouts, horizontal home listening fare and Sprinkles style peak-time hypnotism. Highlights include the sunset-ready jazz-house fluidity of "Swirl", the undulating, wonderfully picturesque ambient shuffle of "Saw U" and the dub-techno influenced soundscape flex of "Babel".

  1. Wish I Didn't Miss You (3:53)
  2. Wish I Didn't Miss You (remix) (4:19)
Review: Oooh! Angie Stone's "Wish I Didn't Miss You" definitely belongs in the canon of all time modern soul classics. Taken from her 2001 second album Mahogany Soul, the Swizz Beats produced track made optimum usage of an O' Jays sample and was instrumental in that LP going gold and propelling the former D'Angelo collaborator to stardom. It also inspired countless official and under the counter remixes with Blaze's perhaps the most recognisable. So yes this reissue on 7" from Outta Sight is worthy if you don't have the original in your collection and features a housed up remix from Hex Hector on the flip.

  1. Jealousy & Lies (6:11)
  2. Jealousy & Lies (alternative dance mix) (5:28)
  3. Jealousy & Lies (instrumental) (4:43)
Review: For their latest dive into house history, Italian reissue specialists Groovin' Records have decided to take us back to London in 1988. "Jealousy & Lies" was one of the earliest solo singles by Julian Jonah, a producer who later found greater fame as part of 187 Lockdown. It remains a wonderfully evocative chunk of dreamy deep house, with Jonah's impassioned spoken word vocal riding jacking drums, a chunky bassline and synthesizer sounds reminiscent of Larry Heard's late 1980s work. There's also a more raw-sounding "Alternative Dance Mix" that throws additional drum machine percussion and some tasty piano riffs into the mix, as well as a vocal-free instrumental take that's close in sound and feel to the A-side version.

Review: Fizzing all over the shop like an F1 winner's magnum, Frank Timm celebrates 20 years of Sound Stream with this outstanding slab of uncut floor jams. No messing around, just straight up disco house music. At points plain trippy ("Flash Back"), at others straight up sexy ("Love Remedy", "Get Down") but always unifying and obese in width and weight ("Disco Advisor" especially) Timm has cleared the board right here with the full range. Essential.

Review: More classy dub techno from Germany's Ornaments with their latest release by Mathimidori: the lesser known alias of Jena-based tech house hero Mathias Kaden who has released two singles on Japan's Mule Musiq where he displayed his new-found love for echo-laden and glacial grooves. The Yosago EP features opening cut "Goya" which receives a terrific rework by label staple Rhauder, whose known style stays within the classic traditions of electronic dub similar to likeminded souls such as Rhythm & Sound or Deadbeat. On the flip, enjoy the personal and introspective deepness of "Sake" followed by the ultra-cavernous minimalism of "Yoto". Tip!

Essential Selections Volume 1 EP
  1. Night Of The Sagitarius
  2. African Roots
  3. Selector's Theme
Review: The second Sound Signature repress of the week offers a chance to re-assess the moment that the wider world was introduced to the talents of one of Detroit's most loved selectors. Released back in 1999, the Essential Selections Vol. 1 EP saw Theo collaborate with a certain Marcellus Pittman across three cuts that still sound as vibrant today. A Side lead "Night Of The Sagitarius" has the loose drum arrangements and gritty low end that will appeal to contemporary ears, but it's also augmented by an almost chilling sense of melody. Face down "Selector's Theme" is the pair in introspective mood whilst "African Roots" belongs in the canon of all time Theo greats.
