Review: Caught between London and LA, contemporary electronic/dance purveyors All My Thoughts pour all their energies into producer-arriviste Maya Q, whose new mini-album-EP-ish release, 'It's Only Forever', betrays a certain level of hype; indeed, this 12" is limited to just one copy per customer. Following up energetic contributions for the likes of Scuffed Recordings, the New England native once again flaunts an attractively nonchalant production style, favouring minimal processing that errs on bare percussive minimums; this is music that makes the production of UK garage, jungle, breaks, ambient and their vanguard fusions seem easy (when they are in fact not). By far the standout track for us is 'Drive', which portrays Maya's impressive ear for texture and stereo spreading, all cementing an organic sense of yearning that belies the machinic heart of many dance music genres she invokes.
