The EHX Intelligent Harmony Machine instantly creates matching harmonies to what you play. It's like having one - or even two - guitarists jamming with you at the same time and always in perfect sync. The Intelligent Harmony Machine opens a door to the music of great multi-lead guitar bands and multi-part harmonized solos. Plus, its ability to apply harmonies ranging from simple to sophisticated will totally transform what you play. Of course, it also boasts EHX's renowned impeccable tracking and genuine musical tone.

Select your key and the Intelligent Harmony Machines will generate single note, diatonic harmonies* with a huge range of choices that includes both two- and three-part harmonies. Here are your choices:

3: 3rd Down
4: 3rd Up
5: Perfect 4th Up
6: Perfect 5th Up
7: 6th Up

These sound so cool that EHX have included them as extra options for the multi-harmony parts (selections 9, 10 and 11) to give you even more choices:

The Intelligent Harmony Machine also performs perfect polyphonic pitch shifts so the pitch shifts you dial up are applied to chords as well as single notes. We've even included a Major/Minor switch so you can select whether 2nds and 3rds will be major or minor. Here are the interval selections that are available:

2: Perfect 4th Down
3: 3rd Down (minor on major)
4: 3rd Up (minor or major)
5: Perfect 4th Up
6: Perfect 5th Up
7: 2nd Down (minor or major)

The Intelligent Harmony Machine's Moment Mode lets you instantly change pitch by simply depressing the pedal's footswitch. The pitch shift is engaged as long as you hold down the F/S. There's also an option so you can apply a user-set sweep time between dry and effect. Choose instant pitch changes or control the time it takes for the Intelligent Harmony Machine to sweep up and down between the set interval and the dry signal!

In Polyphonic Override Mode you can play single notes and chords. The IHM's 11-position Interval Selector switch lets you select the harmony.
In Momentary Mode the effect is only active when the footswitch is depressed. Choose from instant shifts or set the time it takes the signal to sweep up and down.
Mix control sets the mix between your dry and shifted signals. Dry output adds signal routing and control options and flexibility
Comes equipped with an EHX 9 Volt power supply, can also run on 9 Volt battery

The MiniMod Muting Mixer & VCA is a 10HP wide, five channel audio mixer with many useful features. It is available with either a black (Dark Edition), or a silver front panel.

The mixer section has five input channels, and each channel includes a bi-colour tactile LED switch that can instantly mute or un-mute the channel, replicating the oscillator on/off switches on the original Model D synthesiser. This arrangement is more convenient than regular switches as each illuminated switch shows the on/off status of the associated channel and multiple buttons can be pressed at once, making it very useful for live performance.

AJH have also included a four segment LED level meter so that the overall level can be seen at a glance and adjusted to prevent the output from getting too "hot" and causing distortion in other modules further downstream.

It also features a VCA that is integrated into the output section, and this can be switched from linear to exponential response - this allows it to be used as a voltage controlled sub mixer or as a stand alone VCA with five inputs.

Lastly, AJH added a wonderfully soft and warm sounding overdrive circuit that can be switched in to add smooth, tube like distortion. This works in a similar fashion to a master volume guitar amplifier, so the amount of overdrive can be varied widely with different settings of channel and master output levels.

Each knob doubles as a super powerful button. Turn the encoders to control a parameter in any software and twist their built in buttons to quickly reset the knobs or turn effects on and off. This means each knob is like 3 knobs.

The heart of the Twister are the 16 "Endless Encoders". These are very powerful knobs that don't have a start or ending point. Instead the LED rings show you the position of the knob. This means that the controller and the software are always in sync, even when changing banks, racks or songs on the fly.

The Twister allows for deep customization of every knob across all 4 banks with 5 killer features not found on any other controller. Change LED color, transform an encoder into a DJ filter, enable fine midi control, toggle a parameter on/off, or setup a "shift" knob so pressing a push-encoder activates control of a secondary function

The Midi Fighter twister was designed with producers in mind. We need compact, reliable controllers that are easy to map to our DAW's. The endless encoders respond to the software so everything is always in sync, even when playing back recorded automation.

Combine The Twisters powerful knobs with a DAW template so that every time inspiration strikes, a powerful studio environment is there to support you. This is how the pro's do it - why wouldn't you?

The knobs not only control your typical volume, pan and FX send controls but they also enable a host of quick access to deeper control - only available on the twister. For example, push the encoder to send out a fine resolution range and dial in the exact EQ setting you want. Release and return to normal range control.

You need to be able to react to the dancefloor. Having a dedicated controller is just like being a practiced instrumentalist. Once you have a idea, you can just make it happen as soon the inspiration hits.

*** Firmware update June 2023 ***

If you just bought your Midi Fighter Twister or haven't used the utility in a while chances are you might need to update it's firmware with the latest and greatest. This is a fairly straightforward process as long as you take some extra precautions.

1. Download and install the MF Utility if you don't have it already on your computer (PC/Mac).

2. After you check that any other MIDI related applications (Ableton, Traktor, etc) are closed connect your Twister directly to your computer and open the MF Utility. DO NOT USE A USB HUB

3. Click on "File>Export Settings" and select a destination, this will back up your Twister's settings if you have customized your Twister beforehand and make sure you export it outside of the "Midi Fighter Utility" folder since your OS might lock this location and prevent the MFS file from being generated successfully. If you just got your Twister you can skip this step.

4. If a new firmware is available for your device you should see a message in the utility as soon as your device is detected.

5. Click on the orange UPDATE FIRMWARE button and accept the pop up message warning you not to use a USB hub.

6. Once this process finishes your device will reboot and the MF Utility will now show it has successfully updated the firmware!

In 2009 John Berndt coined and defined the term Relabi in his essay "Relabi": Patterns of Self-Erasing Pulse, these are his own words: "Relabi, Def.: The experience of a palpably coordinated plurality of events that appears to be cyclical but simultaneously suspends identification of a uniform pattern, preventing a resolved sense of pulse. Relabi therefore seems equally pulsed and unpulsed at the same time. It is an experiential gestalt, a quality of experience, greater than the sum of its parts (it forms a sustained unity in experience, albeit of a new kind)."

He also makes the question: "Why would anyone want this Relabi experience? I maintain that much of what is exciting in musical forms involves an interplay between the setting up and denying of pulse expectations."

Inspired by this idea, ADDAC System developed this module that is both a gate/trigger and cv generator that can be freely used to trigger events or act as a complex modulation source. Four Sine LFOs are internally generated, each has controls for gain, frequency and mute(off). These 4 LFOs are then mixed together to generate what Berndt named the "Relabi Wave" this "wave" becomes a complex bipolar CV source. This i5v bipolar "wave" can be monitored on the 2 dedicated leds and is also available at its own Output.

XLR Balanced Stereo Outputs

Two XLR connectors (left and right) provide a balanced output with the expected 6 dB extra gain. In many cases, they can allow bypassing a DI box.

TRS Pseudo-Balanced Stereo Outputs

These outputs are very similar in concepts to the ones on the M module, but with large 1/4" jack connectors. It is possible to patch standard TS cables and use them as unbalanced outputs, or use TRS cables to interface them with balanced equipment (the ground is routed to both the ring and the sleeve, for a better performance than regular unbalanced outputs).

Attenuation Switches for Flexible Connectivity

If the two stereo outputs are too hot, a set of switches can attenuate them. The Line/Mic switch on the XLR outputs attenuates them by ~30 dB, while the Line/Inst switch on the TRS outputs attenuates them by ~15 dB.

Stereo Headphones Output with Pre-Fader Listening

The Headphones section allows you to monitor the Master output with an independent volume knob and, at the same time, take advantage of the PFL function on the Channels and the Groups. Rotate the PFL crossfader towards the blue section to blend the PFL modules with the Master sum and check if everything is okay before launching the next scene.

Mono Output with Dedicated Fader

Should you need an extra monitor on stage, or run the whole system through a vintage amp in the studio for parallel processing, the auxiliary monophonic outputs is the answer. It provides the sum of both channels in a handy, pseudo-balanced output with a dedicated fader: attenuate the line level by 15 dB, or amplify it by 6 dB.

Dynamics. It's the shifting ebb and flow of the tide. It's the ups and downs of life. It's witnessing night turn into day, as the sun attacks and sustains through the nightly veil, making the darkness release its gloomy grasp and decay. It's where you'll find the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Sunlight Dynamic Freeze Reverb. An envelope triggered multi-mode reverb with the ability to dynamically freeze and sustain your notes forever, seeing you create truly mesmerising sunlit soundscapes.

Building on what made OBNE's top-selling Dark Star such a stellar early-chain pad reverb, Sunlight twists it into the other dimension as a reverb pedal centred around the idea of a dynamic hold. When you play, your new notes are let through and old notes are allowed to fade away, but when you stop playing, old notes have the chance to repeat forever.

A dead simple to use interface of just two knobs controls the nature of this relationship. In addition, there are three sonic modes that highlight modulation, comb filtering and resonant bandpass filtering, each of which takes their own spin on the reverb signal. The Mix, Input and Decay controls work exactly the same across each mode, as they help control the dynamics.

Mix sets the loudness of the reverb, which goes from all dry to all wet and anywhere in between, allowing you to create everything from subtle reverberations to deep ambient textures. Now, the interplay between Input and Decay is where the real Sunlight magic starts to happen. Decay determines how long the reverb trails will sustain, which will go from quick ephemeral evaporations to infinite reverb pads. On the other hand, Input controls how much of your signal is allowed into and fed back within the reverb. At zero, no new input will be added to your reverb, but as you increase it, more signal is let through, letting you create gently evolving ambient textures or drastically changing synth-like pads.

Rate and Depth are mode-dependent controls. TAPE Mode is a modulated reverb inspired by the unexpected shifts of a tape machine wobbling. Here, Rate and Depth set the speed and intensity of the lopsided vibrato applied to the reverb signal. COMB Mode is a combination of reverb and delay. Four delay lines are placed after the reverb, and the emphasis on stacked short delays creates comb filters like a fixed flanger. Rate sets the time of all four delays, and Depth sets the feedback (or resonance) of the delay section. PASS Mode is a bandpass filter applied between two reverb paths, where a random sample-hold function sets the cutoff frequency of the bandpass. Rate sets the timing of the sample-hold and Depth sets the range of possible cutoff frequencies. If Rate is set to 0, Depth sets a fixed cutoff frequency.

But the sound shaping adventure doesn't end here. Sunlight also contains a bunch of expressive capabilities performed through the on-board ALT switch, which can be set to change control settings either momentarily or latching. It can be assigned to the Rate, Depth, Decay or Input controls or any combination of the four. You can also control them externally via an external expression pedal, the OBNE Expression Slider or even the OBNE Expression Ramper, which will open up even more creative possibilities.

At the core of each section is a high-speed, low-leakage analog sample & hold circuit. The bitcrusher's SYNC input is ORed with its internal s&h trigger which steps the output voltage. Mult IN to SYNC to force a static waveform, or use another VCO for the bitcrusher equivalent of hardsync!

The decimator's internal analog VCO controls its sample rate, but you can override it by patching your own signal to the SAMPLE input. Use complex waveforms to flavor your decimation (spicy!), or even use subaudio-rate signals for a traditional helping of sample & hold!

T-Wrex provides an attenuverter on each CV input for your patching convenience. Crank the CHOMP attenuverter fully counterclockwise to make the decimator's internal VCO track its CV at 1V/octave!

The heart of the pedal is still the same essential filter sections, which splits your signal into different loops with HIGH PASS and LOW PASS paths (both filters have a 12 dB/oct. roll-off with a variable cut-off frequency from 20 Hz to 3 kHz). The rest of the vital tonal organs have had a thorough upgrade, which has resulted in an improved noise floor too. So, let's dive into everything that makes this pedal Deluxe.

Since the original Tyler was also used as an advanced AB/Y box by many, it was found that ground loops could occur - no more with Tyler Deluxe ! Both SENDs are now transformer coupled (with TRIAD Magnetics) to give you a nice and warm saturation, while avoiding ground-loops (internal slide-switched ground-lift). To be prepared for almost every situation and every pedal, both loops also got their own phase inversion switch (+/-) to get rid of potential unwanted phase cancellation.

The next new must-have feature is there to ensure the transparency of your setup; the good old CLEAN blend has been added

So far so good, but the deluxe delights don't stop here! A master phase-switch ensures a fixed and reliable interaction with your set filter frequency in every situation, no matter if you either have a loop engaged or not. But wait, for all of you who wants to follow Tyler's evolution, another claimed feature has been added. The LP-CUT and HP-CUT switches will now mute your loops when bypassed, which will give you tons of new options to be creative, by only using the engaged loops without having clean artefacts pass through when disengaging one of the loops.

Modern times brings modern needs, so Tyler Deluxe is now equipped with relay-based soft-switches, an internal step-up to increase the headroom for hotter input signals and low-noise op-amps to improve the overall sound-quality and usability.

Some fun examples of use: Bass players want to retain their low end while using their favourite fuzz or dirt pedal. Insert your dirt box in the high-pass FX-Loop and adjust the cut-off frequency of the High and Low Pass to your needs. Dial in your preferred ratio of those Low and High Pass signals, engage the HP LOOP footswitch and you will never turn off Tyler Deluxe again! You can also insert different modulation pedals, for example insert a lush phaser for the lows and a nice shimmering delay for the highs and Tyler Deluxe will make it sound like two different guitars are playing at once. Mix up your modulation pedals with any of your dirt pedals, for a very pronounced and punchy sound all coming from one amp.

It does all of this while keeping the clarity and presence of your original signal without getting lost in the soup of decay.

Phew, that was close. The Dwell control sets the length and thickness of the decay, which is to say that it controls how long the disembodied spirits of notes no longer with us float through the ether. At the maximum setting it will descend into an infinite loop of self-oscillation. The Depth sets the intensity of the reverb, which you probably know as the wet/dry mix.

Controls:
1. Attack: Adjusts the length of the pre-delay, from 30ms at minimum to about 150ms at maximum. When the Dwell is set to self-oscillate, this will change the pitch of the oscillations.

2. Dwell: Adjusts the length of the decay. This will start to self oscillate around 3 O'clock, the pitch of the oscillations can be changed by turning the Attack control.

3. Depth: Mixes in the wet signal with the dry, unity is around noon and everything after is boosted.

This device takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. The Horizont's mission is to push way beyond the classic phasing sounds of yesteryear, and take you to uncharted phaser worlds the second you plug in. By combining lush analog JFET phasing with digitally controlled dynamics, Horizont creates a vivid and expressive modulation experience, all while providing experimental and creative features that'll kick phasing well into the 21st century.

Besides the more common phaser controls, the Horizont offers a plethora of new and exciting options for all the interstellar tone chasers out there. To greatly broaden the range of phasing tones available, KMA implemented a digital LFO with no less than eight different waveforms: Ramp Up/Down, Sine/Triangle/Square wave, a sweeping waveform, Sample & Hold and a random slope waveform going from 20s down to 40ms.

The implemented envelope generator is one of Horizont's absolute key features. It transforms your input signal into a control source to modulate the speed of the digitally controlled LFO or lets you manually phase for a resonant touch wah- like sound, depending on the state of the SWP- and SPURTCONTROL-Switch.

Set the SPURTCONTROL switch to LFO to let the SPURT knob adjust the internal phasing speed. However, by flicking the switch to ENV (Envelope) mode, it allows you to dynamically modulate the speed along the full LFO speed range, based on how loud the input source is (e.g. when you attack the strings hard). You can also combine the SPURT knob and the envelope by flicking the toggle to LFO+ENV where SPURT then sets the minimum speed. For even more control, you can even plug in an external expression pedal/CV-source (0-5V) to alter the minimum speed on-the-fly or you can use the TAP TEMPO switch (tap just twice) to set the speed to fit in with the tempo of your music.

The EXP-Mode switch also lets you choose between a manual phasing mode, controlled by an expression-pedal or an external CV source. Setting the EXP-Mode switch to the middle position will disable any external expression control.
The SWP (Sweep) switch lets you decide to use either the LFO or the envelope of your instrument signal to control the phasing.

The envelope can be set to upwards or downwards operation via the ENV switch, seeing the LFO either slowing down or speeding up, or flipping the orientation when phasing manually from lows to highs and vice versa. In conjunction with the FUEL (Sensitivity) and the DECAY controls, the envelope can be tailored perfectly to your needs.

The EMPH (Emphasis) mode from the original Astrospurt Phaser was kept, but have reworked and refined it extensively for the Horizont. The four toggle-switches determine the stage in which the phase-shifted signal is fed back into itself, while the REG (Regeneration) control sets the feedback amount. We also smoothed out the overall sound of the EMPH mode for a more pronounced, and crisp vocal-like tone. Each of the different switch variations and turn of the REG control will yield different results, seeing you discover new wild, fuzzy and noisy galaxies as you travel deeper down this sonic wormhole.

In order for you to levitate through spacetime, a stereo output has been added to the Horizont. You can switch between a standard stereo output or a panning output, via the STEREOPAN switch. Synchronized with the LFO speed, the upper cycle of the LFO sends the signal to the OUT1 and the bottom cycle to the OUT2. This is without a shadow of a doubt the most liquid and astonishing phasing experience you'll ever embark upon. But wait, there's more! Stop and take a deep breath, set the MIX control to fully clean and the Horizont is transformed into a Tremolo on-the-spot, with all the other aforementioned features.

Last but by no means least, the Horizont was equipped with an FX-Loop right in front of the phase-shifting line. This enables you to add your own secret sonic weapons to this spaceship, seeing you create your very own unique phasing sounds.The pedals' headroom was also increased drastically by boosting the internal circuit voltage to 18V, from the regular 9V input, to give the cleanest phasing possible no matter what instrument or line source you use.

The design is so efficient that the HA-S can drive the Nutube with a line voltage of 26 V using only two A4 batteries., for a rich and authentic vacuum tube sound. Sound possibilities The HA-S has a special NFB (Negative Feedback) switch, that allows you to choose from a high fidelity clean and pristine sound, or a warmer, more harmonically rich sound as expected from a vacuum tube. When the NFB switch is OFF, the harmonics present in the Nutube (triode tube) will be amplified to create a sound rich in harmonics, warmth and textures. When the NFB switch is ON, the distortion ratio and frequency characteristics will be modified, creating a really detailed and clean sound. For further sound modification, we have included two OP amp options for the output: the premium audio oriented "MUSES01" and the industry standard NJM4580, both from JRC. These can be easily replaced so even the most purist audiophiles will be able to customize and adapt the sound of their HA-S to heir heart's content. Notes: Really clever noise-based oscillator from AJH. Drones, sweeps and bleeps aplenty, ranging from tamed to out-of-control filth. Also doubles up as a more conventional ring mod and distortion module.

This 14HP wide module is a voltage controlled noise based oscillator, or noisillator for short. It generates 1/f noise and this is then sent through a feedback loop which allows the noise to be "tuned" to varying degrees depending on the settings of the frequency and resonance controls, or incoming frequency or resonance CV's. The tuned circuit can be FM modulated too, for some thunderous sweeping sounds. We have bright and dark outputs, which are pre and post filter respectively. The Bright output will always have a degree of noise present in the signal, whereas the Dark output can be tuned noise only when 4 pole resonance is selected. We also have an external Sync input, which will reset the resonant waveform, and we also have an Audio input, so that an external signal can be mixed into the resonant loop. Combinations of external waveforms to these two inputs can create some massive drone sounds, or sweeping sync sounds.

There is also an XOR ring modulator, which can be used as a module in its own right too. Lastly, we have an XOR amplifier, which is another independant circuit that can be used to add noise and distortion to any audio signal.

Erica Synths Graphic VCO allows you to draw your own waveforms, arrange them in wavetables and wavetable banks, morph between two selected waves and alter the resulting wave in advanced ways (FXes) - apply FM, phase distortion, ring modulation, wavefold/wavewrap, bitcrush.

Waves, wavetables, FXes and other settings can be saved and recalled from the memory instantly. The module has two outputs - the main output and the output with configurable suboscillator.

The sound is clean, modern, punchy and detailed thanks to the unit running at 96kHz - quite different to some low bit-rate wavetable oscillators on the market. Wavetable interpolation is smooth as butter and with the built-in effects you can dirty things up in many different ways. The module scores highly on the sound front. The Graphic VCO is a very capable oscillator module with excellent sound quality and a lot of features that could make it the right choice, especially if live performance is your thing. - Sound On Sound
The bottom line is that the Graphic VCO is a joy to use. It's a module that's unashamedly digital, yet unmistakably eurorack. I think Erica showed a great deal of careful judgement and restraint in the design of this module. It would have been easy to have made it bloated and cumbersome trying to cram as many features as possible into it, but they kept it fairly simple which keeps the module fun and immediate in use. Notes: The Ar Merc'het Brao module is comprised of two filters and two overdrives.

As usual at Touellskouarn it has a Breton name: Ar Merc'het Brao means "The pretty girls".

It can be used with a stereo signal or with two mono signals. The module is modular as well as guitar friendly.

The filters are resonant with a slope of -12dB. A switch allows to switch each filter from LowPass to HighPass. The filter cut-offs are voltage controlled thanks to dedicated CV inputs. Additionally, the Ar Merc'het Brao features global controls for cut-off and resonance.

Both overdrive sections offer the classic and well known TouellSkouarn distortion sound.

Notes: The Triple Waveshaper (TWS) is a non-linear modifier which can transform a sawtooth wave into a sine wave. This classic module incorporates three independent waveshapers for modifying synthesizer waveforms or for processing signals from preamplified instruments. Although originally designed as a waveshaper for early Serge oscillators, this module has been found to be a excellent modifier of electronic and acoustic sounds, and is highly recommended for subtle timbral modifications beyond the range of simple oscillator/filter patches.

The R*S version extends the classic TWS concept:

+1: An additional (4th) waveshaper has been added (right after the first / bottom waveshaper) that can be dialed in smoothly using the +1 knob. Turned down (CCW) the bottom section acts as in the original (as if that additional waveshaper would not exist). Turned up (CW) the bottom section is actually 2 waveshapers in series.

Switches to link the 3 sections - bottom to top. Using these switches all sections can be set to act in series, starting at the bottom and ending at the top, providing the combined effect of 3 to 4 waveshapers (or anything in between) using the +1 knob.

Linking only the middle and top section and turning the +1 knob up (to have 2 sections in the bottom) allows you to use the module for isntance as two independent 2-stage waveshapers (using bottom in and out for one and middle in and top out for the other) - e.g. for stereo processing.
