Review: AntiDEEPressant is a new label that kicks off with a strong cast of contenders exploring interesting facets of the deep house tradition, starting off with the sultry wonder of Lola Allen's "Karma". There's mystery woven in between the African percussion that shapes out her track, and it's a pleasure to get lost in. Millie & Hirsch take a tender approach to Roland D Clark's classic "I Get Deep", while Mateo & Matos push the tempo back up with the jazz-tinged "Idris Rises." Vincent Inc is last on the list, and he cruises in with the slow and strange tones of "Tears Of God".

Review: Tommy Four Seven's eponymous imprint returns with more bleak and dystopian techno tools of industrial strength grade. Featuring the always ferocious Ancient Methods and the wonky drones of "System", Berlin duo Oake hypnotise you into submission as always with their esoteric imaginary soundtrack entitled "Anaxamines" before Italian producer VSK delivers the EPs finest moment on the rather Surgeon sounding broken techno stomper "Breaking Symmetry". The man himself T47 closes this fine EP out with the shredding body bash of "Dromod" that's mangled up amongst metallic textures, grinding sub bass and generous servings of clipped distortion; business as usual!

Review: Arriving on vinyl that sits somewhere between gold and caramel is "Machines", a suitably expansive and futuristic stepper from husband and wife duo, ASC and Vaccine. Heavily pressurised bass rumbles the foundations of a punchy rhythmic thrust whilst a surfeit of industrial sonic textures adds a somewhat glacial depth for a track that demonstrates the continual fracturing of the drum and bass template. ASC goes alone on the B Side "Bleep Test", a digital rude boy strut through murked out sub bass frequencies led by a surfeit of bleeptastic melodies and metal tipped drums.

Review: Limited to a pressing of just 250 (with a promise of no represses) this clear vinyl release is special in every sense. Powered by some of the most exciting names on the fringes of bass and electronica; each of the four cuts strut with raw melodic futurism. "The Noncolour Entity" rumbles with a dubby techno groove a la Funk D'Void. "Irradiate" comes with an almost Bonobo-like dreaminess while "Lovesick" shakes and shudders with a sub-soaked groove and bright, bold swinging breakbeats. "Glimpse" closes the show on a timeless analogue note. Coming on strong like an old Guy Called Gerald record, it's all synths and classic electro breakbeats. Outstanding.

Review: Whisky Disco invite a trio of fresh faces to their ever-growing talent troupe for the Disco Darling EP. Andy Ash takes the lead with a loopy, strutting slice of sample-laced house that wouldn't go amiss in a Mark Farina set while Vincenzo De Bull & Halve Soul lower the tempo, invite us on a Balearic picnic and insist we gobble up huge chunks of Sade's "Cherry Pie". Deeper into the EP we find firm label friends Rabo & Snob laying down a velvet bed of Rhodes and vocal harmonies before the final label newcomer JP Source plays a slo-mo game of sample patty-cake with loopy disco mischief.

Review: Asok's Scenery imprint continues to go from strength to strength, with the boss man following up Bantam Lions' recent Recollections EP with a single of his own. "Hunter" is undoubtedly the Liverpool-based producer's strongest track yet, with woozy, soft-focus chords and alien electronics riding a dusty, analogue-rich groove. As with much of the label's recent output, there are distinct hints of Mood Hut, Future Times and Mister Saturday Night. Experienced producer Versalife reworks the title track, turning it into a blissful chunk of Drexciya-style electro. Flip to the B-side for "Cabal", an ultra-deep and occasionally discordant concoction, and the fuzzy, Detroit-influenced bounce of "Millennium 2.2".

Review: Adam Beyer's Drumcode imprint has for around 15 years been the go-to label for peak time, up front techno on the harder side of things; and this is more of the same! Who better to start proceedings than Belgium's Marco Bailey throwing down a right stomper in the form of "Don't You Want Me" while Italy's Roberto Capuano gives us "Flashback", its infectious melody hypnotises you while its beat pummels you. New York City legend Victor Calderone serves up "Requiem" which is more minimal in presentation, working a vocal loop over a nice bass stab and those harsh, metallic snares. Finally Ian O'Donovan gives us "The Border" with its epic soaring strings, bleeping melody, dark stabs and funky bassline getting more on a progressive/tech house tip.

Review: As the title suggests, this sampler is the second 12" shaped accompaniment to Modeselektion 3, perhaps the most diverse compilation yet from the Monkeytown stable. Indeed the four artists featured here are testament to that with Monkeytown newbie Alex Banks lining up with veteran German artist Henrik Schwarz, multi instrumentalist troupe Brandt Brauer Frick and the always excellent Onra. If you are unfamiliar with Banks work, this sampler is a great introduction with his opener "Be The One" a potent synth fest that is worthy of Moderat. The tempo switches up in fine style for Onra's slack jawed future boogie fest "Blast" whilst the flip sees Schwarz indulge his poppier tendencies with "We Are Bankrupt" and Brandt Brauer Frick team up with Vic Mensa & Om'mas Keith for the excellent "Jungle Love".

Review: Since delivering their first EP of clandestine techno workouts last year, Berlin duo I/Y has remained relatively tight-lipped. They rather matter-of-factly describe their style as "machine music for sensible people". It's arguably an apt description; there's certainly something mature about the material on this split EP. There's some particularly cultured experimentation in the shape of Schloss Mirabell's "With Powdering Fingers Of A Nothing", which spookily cuts up classical strings and tispy electronics with spellbinding results. Elsewhere, the dancefloor focus is more pronounced, with I/Y themselves delivering the murky, metallic funk of "Moments" and Voiski impressing with the surging, melody-rich loop techo of "Draw Back Your Bow".

Review: Dirt Crew's popular Deep Love series returns for a fifteenth time, with another all-star cast of label favourites and special guests providing a quintet of smooch-friendly deep house treats. Brame & Hamo kick things off with the twinkling pianos, soft focus vocal samples and jazz-flecked beats of "Triple Treat", before Nachtbraker pushes the acid bass up to 11 on the cosmic rumble of "Catch Up". Homework's "Pliester" is a warm and woozy delight full of blissful electronic pianos and US garage influenced chords, while Voyeur impresses with the bumpin', jazz-flecked deep house soul of "The Long Way Home". It's Local Talk regular Kyodai who steals the show, too, with the loopy, off-kilter shuffle of "Tleflicht".

Review: Bungle and Villem on IM:LTD - what a fusion of forces! First up Villem takes Bungle's super-steppy "You & Me", jettisons any unnecessary beef and sprinkles it with essential star-gazing elements such as lilting pads and soaring synth progressions. Villem's own "Bring Us Closer", meanwhile, shoots straight for the cosmos with a series of immersive weeping bass textures, a warped filtered loop and dreamy arpeggios before dropping into an absolutely stunning bassline that's so elastic it can flex itself inside out. Essential.
