This latest volume of just that from Yinja covers plenty of ground so is a brilliantly useful 12" to have in your bag for when you want to pump the party. First up, The Bongo Jam's 'Love Disco Dub' becomes a shuffling, vibey and deep cut soulful house sound, then Jill Scott's 'Think It Better' (dub Yinja re-edit) gets a late night make over for smooth sessions. Review: Astonishingly, almost nine years have passed since the release of youANDme's off-kilter tech-house anthem 'PPPP', a Loleatta Holloway-sampling slab of low-slung peak-time funk with just the right amount of off-kilter swing. Rhythm Cult are fans and have decided to release a pair of remix EPs featuring new interpretations. This, the second volume, begins with a deliciously big, booming and sweat-soaked techno interpretation from Shed under his popular Head High alias, before German veteran Ian Pooley re-frames it as a chunky, disco-tinged deep house roller. Over on side B, the artist himself reworks his earlier 'Drunken Diva Mix' and turns it into a rubbery, broken-house treat, while Johannes Albert adds a dash of acid house jack whilst retaining youANDme's fizzing stabs and vocal samples.

Berlin's Ian Pooley then offers a moody basement house mix, Cinthie gets into some flailing and dusty breakbeat action and Yotam Avni remixes with a more melodic sound laden with lush bells.

Review: Archivio is a brand new label from a Brooklyn based record store. Affie Ysusf and Parkwalker are the artists charged with starting off this new chapter. Ysusf goes first with 'Uba Cuba' which is a Latin-infused house sound with plenty of layers of drums and lively grooves appearing through the percussion. Parkwalker's 'Pashtwo' then keeps it deep and stripped back but with plenty of style in the deft synth details and on the flip offers the loopy, dubby, airy jam 'Urgez Untold'. Ysusf then closes down what is a fine first EP from this new label with the fresh house grooves of 'Ode Reticular.'

Although little-known in the UK, Yanti Bersaudara were one of the most successful Indonesian groups of the 1960s and early 1970s. The group, a trio of sisters, is arguably best known in the UK and Europe for their self-titled 1971 album, which has now been given the reissue treatment to satisfy growing demand from record collectors. It's a warm and gently psychedelic affair, offering songs (naturally sung in Indonesian) that variously touch on 1960s beat pop, the "wall of sound" productions of Phil Spector and dewy-eyed, soft-focus soul, often with South East Asian musical motifs mixed with British and American tropes. As a result, it's a surprisingly intoxicating affair.
