Review: Cult outfit The General Store laid down four songs in the year of 1967. They release two of them, but the other two have remained under wraps ever since. Now, more than half a century later, they are getting pressed up to vinyl for the first time thanks to Perfect Toy who have decided to cut just 300 copies. The band themselves have given full blessing for this one and as soon as the needle drops you're taken into a swirling, high-octane world of raw 60s rock heavy funk. It is very much a case of Tower of Power meets Funkadelic with a lo-fi twist.

Review: You're unlikely to find much information about The General Store online. Clearly back in the 1960s they weren't coming up with band names that took Google searchability into account. Belonging to a different age, they made music that sounds like heart, soul, unity and good times all rolled into one, even when dealing with less rose-tinted issues. Say what you will about being able to find anything you want in a couple of clicks, right now we feel the world could do with a lot more of their sound. Love Is You can be traced by to 1967, and the very early beginnings of psychedelic funk and garage rock. Recorded in 1967, this four-track 7" is harder to track down than information about the group themselves. Or at least it was until now. Finally reissued, this is collector's stuff for sure.

Review: Italian producer Vinz Giaimis crafts an intricate homage to the kosmische traditions of Krautrock, weaving a sonic tapestry that feels as much about exploration as it does about reverence. Across the EP's four tracks, Giaimis deftly balances vintage analogue textures with a modern electronic sensibility. The opener sets the tone with a motorik groove underpinned by shimmering synths, evoking both the vastness of space and the hypnotic rhythms of a train journey. Elsewhere, there's a palpable warmth as swirling pads and layered percussion come together in a way that suggests the meditative qualities of early Tangerine Dream.

Review: Gipsy Power Band - what a name that is, by the way - debuts with aplomb here and mixes up a fiery sonic stew of flamenco rumba, rock and funk that captures the essence of a unique time in Spanish music. Formed in Madrid in 2022, the band originally paid tribute to "cine quinqui," a Spanish exploitation film genre, by performing tracks from its iconic soundtracks and other hidden gems from the mid-70s to early 80s. Drawing inspiration from artists like Los Chichos and Las Grecas, they lit up Madrid's stages with their vintage repertoire. Now, they've evolved to create original music and it comes in the form of these two songs.

Bloom (2:17)
Floating (3:15)

Heavenly (2:51)
Ghastly (2:22)
Review: Texan shoegaze arrivistes, Glare, share 'Heavenly'; the band's first proper EP-length release, it hotly follows their two drumroller single releases 'Into You' and 'Void In Blue', both released earlier in the year (yet they do not feature here). The EP hears Heavenly hone the best qualities of their sound so far, delivering a fiver of cataleptic overloads, and bottling a normally immiscible range of emotions - "love, loneliness, and anger" - where only the sonic medium of heavy-set rock gushes, and the act of averting one's gaze to the trodden, spirit-sodden floor, can succeed in integrating them. The EP's momentous shreds and viscid vocals are at times too much to muster for us sensitive types; we note the contrast of 'Bloom', 'Floating', 'Soft', 'Heavenly' with the closer 'Ghastly', a shocking tonal shift compared to the first four songs, its amped discordancy and snarled pickup grrs making it the standout of the bunch, yet also the most horrific; a well and truly drowned sorrow.

Review: Straop yourself in and prepare for a cosmic trip on psyched out cosmic polyrhythms with kosmische overtones at the hands of newcomer Glass Beams. This debut on Research Record is a stunning one from the enigmatic producer but will have you googling t find out as much as you can while you get lost in the sliding bass and transcendent synthwork. It's tinged with a certain retro charm and 70s prog magic but also feels decidedly new and fresh. Masterful.

Black Sand (4:33)
Review: Mahal by Glass Beams melds a diverse array of influences into a unique and enchanting soundscape. The Melbourne-based trio, shrouded in mystery with their mask-wearing anonymity, lets their music speak volumes. Built around founding member Ranjan Silva, their sound draws from the rich heritage of Ravi Shankar, Bollywood, Electric Light Orchestra, and traditional blues.Inspired by repeated viewings of 'The Concert For George', Silva's vision for Glass Beams seems to echo the fusion George Harrison envisioned when introducing classical Indian music to Western pop. The EP opens with 'Horizon,' setting a serene tone before leading into the title track 'Mahal,' an instrumental piece that envelops the listener in its mystical charm. 'Orb' follows with a riveting bass riff, while 'Snake Oil' delves deeper into Indian classical territory, showcasing evocative vocals. The EP concludes with 'Black Sand,' a dramatic and beautiful track featuring interwoven vocals and guitar. As their second EP, following Mirage, Mahal solidifies Glass Beams' distinct place in music, defying categorisation and quietly demanding attention with its almost otherworldly quality.

Review: This wonderful album delivers a tight, vibing collection of traditional old-time Appalachian music. Featuring Liam Grant on guitar, Grayson McGuire on fiddle and Devon Flaherty on banjo and guitar, this debut recording brims with raw, authentic talent. It was recorded straight to cassette with no overdubs and despite the carefree atmosphere, the trio expertly channels the spirit of old-time music. Tracks like 'Dry and Dusty' and 'Taner's Farm' reflect their playful yet poignant approach by blending upbeat melodies with deeper themes of rural life and hard times. This one is a real charmer.

Review: Cocteau Twins' musical mastermind Robin Guthrie has produced some terrific solo records over the course of his career, frequently delivering material that joins the dots between ambient, ethereal soundscapes, shoegaze and the more immersive end of the soundtrack spectrum. 'Astoria' is the latest volume in the Scottish multi-instrumentalist and producer's ongoing EP series (its predecessor, 'Mountain', dropped in September). It's another typically gorgeous and enveloping affair in which effects-laden guitar motifs, gaseous ambient chords, gentle rhythms, ghostly aural textures and slowly shifting melodies combine to create instrumental sound worlds of rare beauty (if not sonic clarity - Guthrie's use of reverb and delay is liberal, which adds to its atmospheric nature but adds extra layers of attractively wide-eyed haziness).

Review: Peter Gabriel's third self-titled album, often referred to as Melt, marks a significant artistic leap for the musician. Released in 1980, this groundbreaking record is notable for its innovative integration of electronic effects and the revolutionary gated drum sound developed with Phil Collins and engineer Hugh Padgham. The album's cover art, a melting portrait of Gabriel by Hipgnosis, adds to its striking visual identity. Co-produced by Gabriel and Steve Lillywhite, Melt showcases a unique blend of influences, notably African rhythms and experimental soundscapes. Opening with the eerie 'Intruder', the album establishes a dark and unsettling atmosphere that persists throughout. Tracks like 'No Self Control' and 'I Don't Remember' feature dynamic arrangements, with the latter providing one of the album's most memorable hooks. The politically charged 'Biko' serves as a poignant anthem for anti-apartheid activism, encapsulating Gabriel's deep engagement with global issues. Not only did the album achieve commercial success, topping charts in the UK, but it also solidified Gabriel's identity as a solo artist, paving the way for future explorations in music technology. This reissue on 180-gram vinyl brings the album's rich textures and intricate sound design back to life, allowing listeners to experience its emotional depth and musical innovation anew. Melt remains a powerful example to Gabriel's vision and a landmark in progressive music.

Review: This is the ultimate version of Peter Gabriel;'s long awaited new album I/O. It comes across all formats - four vinyl, two CDs, a Blue Ray and even includes a booklet. The album finds him reasserts his voice and compositional skill, delivering a profound and life-affirming new message. Embracing a Wattsian speck-of-dust existential theme, lead cuts like the title track turn the thought of "I'm just a part of everything" into a motif, while also touching on themes of injustice, surveillance and the roots of terrorism. Elsewhere it is packed with plenty of moments of vocal beauty and gravity, with Gabriel's iconic song writing abilities front and centre as he tackles a rich array of tough provoking subjects. A welcome return.

The double CD includes never-before-heard tracks like 'Shout You Down' from the Today sessions and 'I Wanna Live' from the On Fire sessions. Drummer Damon Krukowski remarked on the nostalgic experience of revisiting these recordings, likening it to opening an old journal. Bassist Naomi Yang reflected on the developmental journey captured in the tracks, highlighting the evolution of their collective sound and her own bass playing. Galaxie 500's three seminal albums, Today (1988), On Fire (1989), and This Is Our Music (1990), were all recorded with producer Kramer at Noise New York. This collection not only spotlights Gallagher's enduring influence but also provides a journey through his evolving sound, from the gritty blues of his early days to the more refined, yet equally intense performances of the 80s. Many will say, Rory Gallagher's exceptional talent and his significant contribution to rock and blues music is most shown in his live performances. Review: In 1972, Irish blues guitarist Rory Gallagher was at the peak of his powers. On the back of two much-loved and critically acclaimed albums, Gallagher was named Melody Maker's Musician of the Year. Before scooping that gong, he toured Europe and, while in Switzerland, recorded a now legendary session for Radio Suisse. This CD showcases that session in full, complete with crowd noise and trademark effects aplenty, with Gallagher and his band's dazzling - if fuzzy and lo-fi, in keeping with the original recording - blues and blues-rock performances (Gallagher's squally and extended guitar solos are especially memorable) being joined by interview experts and introductions by the radio station's unnamed disc jockey.

The album delves into the complexities of grief, from its inherent loneliness to its eventual liberation, while also deconstructing universal themes like religion, heritage, and womanhood. As a reflection of modern America's cultural landscape, Gemelo marks Garcia's first album predominantly sung in Spanish, challenging traditional notions of what constitutes an American record. Produced by Carlos Arevalo of Chicano Batman, the album is meticulously sequenced, guiding listeners through a journey from delicate introspection to visceral intensity. Born in East LA with Mexican and Salvadoran roots, Garcia embodies the evolving fusion of Hispanic influences in contemporary America. 'Color De Dolor,' the lead has lush textures and a kaleidoscopic quality and offers a captivating glimpse into the artist's multifaceted world. Following her acclaimed 2020 release Cha Cha Palace, which garnered attention for its innovative sound, Gemelo solidifies Garcia's place as a rising star in the music scene with captivating melodies and thought-provoking themes.

Review: Melody Gardot's album The Absence is an ambitious blend of global influences, from the sun-drenched tones of Brazil to the evocative atmospheres of Morocco and Buenos Aires. Gardot's songwriting shines, merging her signature wry honesty with the rhythms and moods of the countries she explores. Tracks like 'Mira' and 'Lisboa' are lush with Spanish guitars, harps, and local percussions, crafting a backdrop of lazy days and warm nights. Gardot's voice, ever sultry and inviting, navigates through these arrangements with an ease that recalls classic bossa nova, occasionally flirting with the styles of New Orleans jazz on tracks like 'Goodbye.' While the album sometimes risks slipping into the overly mannered, Gardot maintains a charm that makes The Absence a compelling listen, proving her continual growth as a sophisticated singer/songwriter with a worldly touch.

Review: We Have Dozens of Titles by Gastr Del Sol is a treasure trove for fans, offering a glimpse into the experimental post-rock pioneers' journey from their Bastro roots to their groundbreaking work as Gastr Del Sol. This collection, curated from their 1993-1998 recordings, shows their evolution into sonic explorers, pushing the boundaries of post-rock with influences from musique concrete and free improv. The unearthed CBC recording from Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville in 1997 is a highlight, featuring ethereal versions of familiar tracks like 'The Seasons Reverse' and 'Blues Subtitled No Sense of Wonder.''The live rendition of "Onion Orange' is a revelation, with Jim O'Rourke's kosmische synth waves intertwining seamlessly with David Grubbs' intricate guitar work. Additionally, the inclusion of rarities like 'The Harp Factory On Lake Street' and tracks from various compilations adds depth to the collection. Each track, whether a live performance or a studio recording, has been meticulously mastered or remastered by O'Rourke, enhancing the listening experience. We Have Dozens of Titles not only fills in gaps in Gastr Del Sol's discography but also exemplifies their innovative approach to music-making.

Review: Phoenix, Arizona based modern death metal brutalists Gatecreeper return with their highly anticipated third full-length Dark Superstition. The first album from the band since 2019's Deserted showcases an embracing of both the hyper-violent grindcore-indebted cuts from their 2021 mini-LP/EP An Unexpected Reality, as well as the brooding doom-metal opus 'Emptiness' that bookended the project. Recorded at God City Studios with Converge guitarist and iconic producer Kurt Ballou, while citing influences from melodic death and gothic metal acts such as In Flames, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema, the long gestation period has resulted in the band's most sonically sprawling work to date. Newly signed to Nuclear Blast, the decrepit stage appears to be set for Gatecreeper to finally seize all of their bubbling potential by the horns and throat. Mark our words when we say Dark Superstition will be one of the definitive extreme metal contributions of 2024.

Review: Myriam Gendron's Mayday is a poignant and deeply resonant exploration of folk traditions, seamlessly blending elements of Quebecois culture with avant-garde nuances. Building on the success of her previous albums, Gendron crafts a stunning listen through both English and French lyrics, accompanied by a stellar lineup of musicians including Marisa Anderson, Jim White, and Cedric Dind-Lavoie. Despite the album's dark undertones, stemming from personal loss, Gendron masterfully infuses each track with a subtle yet powerful light, reminiscent of Leonard Cohen's ability to navigate darkness with grace. The result is a collection of songs that exude intimacy and familiarity while pushing boundaries and exploring new sonic territories. From haunting melodies to quietly aggressive free-rock arrangements combined with Gendron's lyrical talents shining through, Mayday hits all the right notes. It's a beautiful and thought-provoking work that lingers in the mind long after the final note fades away.

Review: Genesis's And Then There Were Three is a pivotal album in the band's history, marking their transition to a trio following Steve Hackett's departure. Released in 1978, the album showcased a blend of progressive rock roots with shorter, more concise songs, reflecting a response to the changing music scene and indicating the future path on which the band would travel. Lead single 'Follow You Follow Me' became a chart-topping success, propelling the album to platinum status in the US and the LP's sound, despite being dominated by Tony Banks' keyboards and Mike Rutherford's guitar work, signalled a departure from their earlier style but retained the band's signature sound. Critics praised the album's strong, confident compositions, noting tracks like 'Ballad of Big' and 'Down and Out' and despite initial scepticism about their ability to continue as a trio, Genesis proved their resilience and their musical depth remains clear on this 2024 reissue.

Review: This release saw Genesis balancing their progressive rock origins with a more radio-friendly sound when it hit in 1983, creating a seamless fusion of complexity and accessibility. Tracks such as 'Mama' - the first single that heralded the album's arrival - bring an eerie edge, with Phil Collins' emotive delivery matched by brooding synths and steady percussion. By contrast, 'That's All' offers a buoyant, piano-led melody that feels both light and intricate, showing the trio's knack for crafting memorable hooks without losing their musical depth. The instrumentation remains sharp and purposeful throughout, highlighting the group's ability to adapt their style while maintaining a sense of innovation.

Review: Turn It On Again: The Hits offers a concise collection of Genesis's chart-topping tracks, catering to fans who view the band primarily through their hit singles. While some lesser-known songs make the cut over notable tracks like 'Paperlate' or 'Man on the Corner,' the compilation delivers all the major hits, including 'Turn It On Again,' 'Invisible Touch' and 'Follow You, Follow Me.' Although the sequencing may seem odd at times, with Peter Gabriel's earlier work juxtaposed with Phil Collins-era hits, standout moments like the reworked 'The Carpet Crawlers 1999' showcase the album's value. While it may not sway die-hard fans, Turn It On Again satisfies those seeking a comprehensive overview of Genesis's mainstream successes.

Review: An extensive jaunt through the earliest years of prog giants Genesis, with tracks culled from their debut From Genesis to Revelation - the band reportedly having been advised by producer Jonathan King to imitate The Bee Gees - and their breakthrough album, Nursery Cryme, figuring among the extensive tracklisting. The period is much loved by hardcore prog fans, and Peter Gabriel's idiosyncratic vocals remain era-defining, a far cry from the slcik pop crew they eventually evolved into. 'The Musical Box', included here, did however remain in the band's live set for several decades after, proof of its enduring nature as well as the special part it plays in the heart of the Genesis massive.

Review: Turn It on Again: The Hits serves as a concise yet comprehensive overview of Genesis's illustrious career as hit-makers. While it may not include every fan favourite track from their extensive catalogue, it effectively captures the essence of the band's evolution from the Peter Gabriel era to their chart-topping success under Phil Collins's leadership. The compilation - being made available on vinyl for the first time - features all the major hits that have defined Genesis's legacy, from the anthemic 'Turn It on Again' to the infectious 'Invisible Touch' and soulful 'Follow You, Follow Me.' The album offers a satisfying journey through the band's musical journey. Standouts include the inclusion of classics like 'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)' and the reworked version of 'The Carpet Crawlers 1999,' showcasing the band's versatility and enduring appeal. Overall, Turn It on Again is a must-have for both casual listeners and die-hard fans alike, reaffirming Genesis's status as one of rock's most iconic acts.

Review: Norwich is much more than the butt of Alan Partridge jokes it appears. Having turned their back on London and relocated to the East Anglian city, the three-piece - Joe Barton, Mickey Donnelly and Louie Rice - set up a rehearsal studio and recording space in a former brutalist shopping centre and sound like they've found inspiration. Venturing into recording with the dazzling sense of experimentation that we associate with the experimental rock scenes in Germany and France in the late 60s, they've come out gleaming. This is a highly contemporary stretching of what a band built around drums, bass, and synth with deliberately abstract vocals can do. On 'Judas Gap' they tear up the rule book and let the hiss of analog tape provide atmosphere. The bass guitar sound would likely give engineers at Abbey Road nightmares, but it's sort of the point: it's an irreverent counterpoint to pop music and there's beauty in recording things how they sound without masking it. 'Misprint Maker' is a fever dream, intense and unsettling but thrilling at the same time. 'Gipping' has what sounds like a cow as an intro. It's absurd but feels like The KLF would be proud. They played their first gig at Cafe Oto in Dalston and immediately found a label to release this album - it's no wonder they were snapped up as they're truly fascinating in their approach.

Review: If there was a ever a genre of music that made you feel old through its own ageing process, it's pop-punk and emo. The soundtrack to a 1001 American coming of age movies in the 1990s and, to a lesser extent, the noughties, the high energy, high-emotional quality that runs through these tunes can't help but cast the mind back to what now feels like a more innocent time. But, as the songs made clear, we were actually wrought with complicated self-doubt and uncertainty. 1999 was a peak year for this, with Blink 182, Sum 41 and Avril Lavigne vying for chart positions in the UK alongside dominant trance and dance beats. The Get Up Kids were less visible in Britain, but among the noise this Kansas city crew dropped Something To Write Home About. Achieving significant acclaim Stateside, the record would go on to influence the birth of Fall Out Boy, the Wonder Years, and Taking Back Sunday, among others.

Review: Filmed over two nights at LA's Kia Forum, boasting Tobias Forge's charismatic stage presence and a setlist dominated by recent hits, this is a great example for how powerful the band is overall. Tracks like 'Kaisarion' and 'Watcher in the Sky' shine, especially with powerful choral backing and the haunting saxophone solo in 'Miasma.' The show balances theatrical spectacle and genuine warmth, with Forge's message of kindness resonating amid the glitz. While the setlist focuses on newer material, omitting earlier cult classics from Opus Eponymous and Infestissumam, Rite Here Rite Now still delivers a full-bodied, exhilarating experience. New track 'The Future Is a Foreign Land' closes the album on a high, blending retro vibes with catchy melodies and reinforcing Ghost's evolution toward melodic accessibility. A perfect blend of their recent material and their talent at performing them live with a great production.

Review: Quebec City-based singer/songwriter Margaux Suave and collaborator/producer Louis-Etienne Santais earned plenty of praise for their first album as Ghostly Kisses, 2022's Heaven, Wait. It framed the project as a new iteration of dream-pop, with the pair drawing inspiration from melancholic synth-pop, downtempo, hazy indie-pop and lo-fi soul. Sophomore set Darkroom continues in this vein while subtly expanding the pair's sonic horizons. Throughout, they shuffle attractively between string-laden trip-hop ('There Is No More Space'), dreamy two-step pop ('Golden Eyes'), slow-motion, Balearic-tinged synth-pop ('Lonesome Hero'), twinkling deep house-pop ('Calm Down') and orchestrated ambient pop ('Silver Screen').

Review: Even in the early days of Portishead it was apparent Beth Gibbons wouldn't just play the game and become an omnipresent star trotting out an album a year. Her reclusive nature adds to the enigma around her arresting voice, and it's allowed an album like 2002's Out Of Season to mature beautifully. It also means there's an undeniable thrill around the arrival of a new project, which takes shape here as Lives Outgrown. The lead single 'Floating On A Moment' sets the tone, sounding absolutely like the Gibbons we all know and love while heading into new territory, melding indie rock, folky romanticism and subtle sonic tweaks that assure us the wait has been worth it. Review: Beth Gibbons releases her debut solo album Lives Outgrown. Notably containing ten songs that were in total written over the course of ten years, the overarching mood is one of saying farewell and musing on the bittersweetness of loss. The English singer and notable Portishead member's solo efforts often operate with this affect, but Gibbons' latest is of special import, given the length of time over which these songs were crafted and occasionally performed over the years. As demonstrated by lead track 'Floating On A Moment', the palette is soft and reflective, hitting only the softest dynamic notes, as Gibbons sings of unique lifetime journeys and a dealt-with sense of friends suffering being left behind.

Review: Beth Gibbons has never saturated the market with her distinctive approach to singing and songwriting, choosing to leave the power of her contributions to Portishead and solo hanging in the air. That makes Lives Outgrown a truly exciting proposition, some 20 years after her last solo outing and simultaneously unique but naturally leading on from the magical Out of Season. The sonic content is layered differently, less folky and more like art rock embellished with electronics, but the melancholic, wistful melodic makeup feels absolutely rooted in Gibbon's approach throughout the years. This is the CD edition of a very welcome return from a truly unique treasure in British alternative music.

After their late mentor Joe Thompson bequeathed them a trove of recordings to work with, the already esteemed, torch-bearing duo breathe new life into 18 handpicked rethinks and honorific originals, some sung, others purely instrumental. Recorded outdoors at sites meaningful to Thompson and Baker, their sessions were joined by the rare, overlapping calls of two cicada broods, unheard together since 1803. Giddens calls it "music made for your community's enjoyment and for dancing."

Review: Scott Gilmore's tracks are deceptively pared back. Putting an Arp Odyssey, Yamaha CS-01, Korg DW-8000, Hohner Pianet T, Roland TR 606, Roland SH 101, bamboo alto saxophone, clarinet, electric guitar and electric bass to very good use on this nine track Balearic-downtempo stunner, the tunes are easy to groove with yet subtly complex. They feel simple, but are incredibly detailed. Veering between a kind of synth-y smooth jazz, lounge, lofi electronica and sunset instrumental, Volume 01 is the proof after the promise of Gilmore's 2019 debut, Two Roomed Motel. Second album in and it's quite clear how talented the guy is. We just wish there was more information available for us to get to know him better with.

The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with alt-J and Marika Hackman, with lyrics mostly written by Polly Samson, Gilmour's co-writer for the past thirty years. The album features eight new tracks along with a beautiful reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers' 'Between Two Points', which sees Romany Gilmour, who performs backing vocals across the album, on vocals and harp. Musicians contributing to the record include Guy Pratt & Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry & Roger Eno on keyboards and the string and choral arrangements are by Will Gardner. The title track also features the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, recorded in 2007 during a 'Barn Jam' at David's house. The album's cover image, photographed and designed by renowned artist Anton Corbijn, is inspired by lyrics written by Charlie Gilmour for the album's final song 'Scattered'.

Take Me Back (Owakare No Jikan)
Review: Step inside the world of Ginger Root with Shinbangdumi, Cameron Lew's third LP and Ghostly International debut. A multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and visual artist from Southern California, Lew has crafted his unique blend of handmade yet polished synth-pop, alt-disco, boogie and soul since 2017. Drawing inspiration from 1970s and '80s music, particularly Japanese City Pop and its Western counterparts, Lew creates a sound that is singular and modern. Shinbangumi translates to "a new season of a show" and reflects Lew's personal and artistic evolution. The album's track arrangement, influenced by feedback from his live band and collaborator David Gutel, is designed to take listeners on an exhilarating journey, starting with the infectious 'No Problems' and its catchy basslines and guitar riffs. 'Better Than Monday' transitions from lo-fi to hi-fi splendor, humorously addressing the universal dread of Mondays. The album balances referential and refreshing elements, with tracks like 'There Was A Time' and 'All Night' showcasing Lew's melodic strength. 'Only You' delivers a true City Pop anthem, while "Giddy Up" channels The B-52s and Devo. 'Kaze' evokes the Tin Pan Alley sound of Harry Hosono, recorded in a Tokyo karaoke bar. 'Show 10' stands as the album's spiritual heart, reminding Lew of his commitment to delivering his best to fans. With Shinbangdumi, Ginger Root presents a wealth of nostalgia and innovation with their version of synthpop.
