For their next release, we see the ever evolving sound of label boss DJ 3000 merging with the synth mastery of Esteban Adame and the driving momentum of Ben Sims. The collaboration with Adame sees a Chicago influence manifest itself in a dark and driving way, joined then by the kind of ethno-percussive elements that have shaped Motech as a whole. For all its drive and forcefulness, this release still carries enough funk and groove to keep it level.

Review: Thanks to the recent success of founder member DJ Sports, Denmark's Regelbau collective is currently riding the crest of a wave. Here, fellow Regelbau stalwart DJ Central gets a chance to showcase his wares on the crew's in-house label. The first mix of "Drive" is a wonderfully woozy, spacey and laidback affair - despite the presence of skittish, house-tempo hardcore breakbeats - with Erica Casier's sweet vocals rising above Central's deep and hazy backing track. Casier's wonderful vocal is given even more prominence on the deliciously horizontal Ambient Mix. Flip the record over for the real standout highlight: a bubbly, punchy, breezy and bass-heavy Club Mix from DJ Sports that recasts the track as a slipped, two-step garage shuffler full of rich sub-bass and ear-pleasing organ stabs.

Review: Moiss Music released a hot pair of EPs in February and repeat the same trick in May with another quality double drop. It is a various artists offering as always with DJ Delivery's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' a sure-fire floor-filling anthem to start things off. It's got loopy drums and string samples as well as sumptuous vocal harmony then Borka & The Gang keep the feel-good vibes alive with 'Kidding Feelings and Even Funkier's' Dance With Your Feet' is another smile-inducing bit of disco warmth with withering sic-fi synths and hip swinging claps. Jordan Reece's 'Prayer' has hints of gospel in the vocal while noodling keys and tight kicks all get looped to perfection.

Review: Here's something to tickle the fancy of intergalactic electronic music lovers everywhere: a one-off collaborative 12" that brings together producers from two hyped young labels, Prayers For The Long Life and A Harmless Deed. Prayers mainstay DJ F is first to the plate with "Dukha", a warm but spacious chunk of rolling, dub-tinged deepness. His label mate Ideogramme closes proceedings with a pleasingly loose and languid, breakbeat house shuffler. In between, A Harmless Deed co-founder Epiphany (ALA Damian Schwarz) delivers a double dose of deep, woozy and humid dancefloor shufflers. File under: "intergalactic goodness".

Review: The Aniara label out of Sweden has always come at things from its own sideways perspective whether dealing in house, techno, or something in between. This new two track 12" allows different artists to take care of one side each, beginning with DJ Marathon's 'Track 1.' It is the sort of breezy, balmy cut that encourages your mind to wander amongst the stars as you get lost in the pulsing deep house beats. Ebende's 'Elevate' picks up the pace but remains a dubby delight, with warm, molten chords rippling out to infinity and cuddly kicks carrying you to a mindful place.

Spanish nu-disco label Rare Wiri is a rare thing indeed. Not only has it been putting out classy disco sounds for 12 years, but it now hits that hugely rare and noteworthy landmark of 100 releases. A suitably big cast of names appears on this celebratory EP with DJ Rocca twisting melons on his proudly analogue mid tempo disco groover 'Mausy.' Eric Duncan manages to sound both Balearic and edgy with his 'Suan Wu,' a darkened tuned with arching guitar riffs and twinkling keys.
Mushrooms Project keeps it deep and weird and Rayko closes out with a nice speed out stepper that reaches for the future.

Review: Two years on from his last outing under the DJ Snils alias, Oleg Buyanov AKA Ol buddies up with pal Every Korner (real name Roman Erikona) to help launch the Save the Books label. The Moscow-based pair apparently recorded the four tracks at various points over the last few years. There's an undeniably Balearic feel to proceedings throughout, from the dreamy pads, twittering loon bird samples and new age ambient melodies of 'Intro', to the jazz-flecked Italian dream house drowsiness of luscious and life-affirming closing cut 'Sector 100'. In between you'll find the bustling 'Take Money', where sampled piano motifs and huggable chords ride a chunky, bass-heavy groove, and the sunny broken beat/jazz-funk/deep house fusion of 'Black Box Riddle'.

Review: New label Nuances de Nuit kick off in fine style with a various artists 12" that draws on some emergent names to lay out a vision of cross-style dance music that favours the deeper end of the pool. Things get going with an organ-rich house bumper from DJ Steaw that pumps in all the right places, before Armless Kid switches things up with an untitled slice of dynamic, richly layered electro. T. Jacques thumps out a crafty, swinging cut with techy inclinations and oodles of groove, and E. Wan takes things in a more linear, deep techno direction laden with gorgeous synth work and plenty of artful effects processing.

Review: Having recently featured in one form or another on releases from Gomma, Editorial and Gazeebo International, veteran disco/house fusionist DJ Steef primes a fourth 12" transmission on his own edits label Biomix with a little help from Ed Hit (geddit?) As with previous editions of Biomix, the four cuts here adopt a full fat fromage approach to the humble disco edit and act as perfect DJ tools for the budding Discotheque DJs out there. The A Side has Steef and Ed Hit collaborating on two tracks; lead cut "Let's Flunck" is straight out of the French looped disco house manual and contrasts nicely with the slower sensual Italo bump of "Ca Sonne". Flip over and the Marseille based Steef goes solo on two reworkings of French discotheque classics with the heavy disco dub of "Cargo Cul" perhaps our favourite track of the EP.

Review: Cor blimey here's a big old slab of history; DJ Trace and Ed Rush together on a seminal Lucky Spin release from 1993! Capturing that emergent jungle feeling that was spawning from hardcore at the time 'Don Bad Man' charges away with a technoid twang and rattling breaks while 'Clean Gun' is even more of a proto jungle tune with its vast spaciousness, reverse breaks and MC vocal sample. Remastered and complete with an unreleased mix, if you didn't catch this the first time round, then cop it now. Things don't get much more foundation than this!

Review: DJ Trace's 'Spy Technologies' series has come a long way since its 2002 inception. The original comp was a neurofunk milestone, and deftly justified Trace's status as a drum n' bass pioneer, run through with spy imagery and themes. Now on its eighth instalment, the DSCI4 sub-imprint has become increasingly star-studded, with Trace now curating the first 4-track selection from the upcoming LP. Straddling dutty jungle ('War Torn') to rap-sampling neuro rollers ('Thunderin'), one can only describe this EP as audio-nunjitsu, scoping out the desert compound for insider info on the full-length. Out on limited blueberry-coloured vinyl, it's an apt soundtrack for your next reconnaissance mission.

Review: DJ Yoda is a pioneering turntables, scratch DJ and hip-hop master who has defined all those scenes for more than 20 years. For this one though he leaves behind his high energy sounds for a much more mature and grown up beat with Edo.G and Nubya Garcia. 'Roxbury' is a smooth bit of deep cut boombap with gently tumbling toms and smooth flows from Edo.G. The icing on the cake is the dreamy sax work from new school star Nubya Garci. As well as the original, an instrumental is included on the flip. Both sides of this one hit different. Must cop.

Review: Oozing with slippery sound design and euphoric exudate, Andrey Djackonda, Etzu Mahkayah, and TooRare team up for a next-gen talent demo in EP form, well and truly showing any other upstart how trancey-prog-minimal house is and should indeed be done. Said to have been designed to create a feeling of uplift and positivity - and yet in our opinion, the record touches on relatively more neutral and trancier moods, ones which could go either way - the likes of 'Que Le Jour Se Leve' and 'Sunrise In Amsterdam' are highly maximised, entelechic tech-trance progressors, highlt reflective of the verve and dedicated so far enshrined in the work of Saint Petersburg label MixCult.

Review: Eric Cloutier has decided to launch a new offshoot to his consistently impressive Palinoia label. The basic idea seems to be limited edition EPs featuring tried-and-tested club cuts from like-minded machine abusers. To begin this sub-label debut in style, he offers up a killer cut from pal Donato Dozzy that's as hypnotic and mind-altering as you'd expect. Built around a rock solid kick-drum pattern, hissing cymbals and a deep bassline, "Aquatica" is sparse, unearthly and intoxicating, with trippy noises, metallic electronics and watery sounds bubbling across the sound space. Cloutier takes over on side B with "Ekpyrosis", a thrusting, muscular mixture of locked-in grooves, faintly foreboding psychedelic acid motifs and the kind of swelling chords that make your synapses snap.
