Review: After successfully showcasing his wares via EPs on GAMM, Razor N Tape and Barefoot Beats, fast-rising re-editor Elado pitches up on Bonfido Disques for the very first time. The resultant 12" contains some of his most interesting re-edits yet, with Elado cunningly opting for eccentric and oddball source material. 'Deepy Mango' sounds like a cross between proto-house, post-punk synth-pop and Kwaito - and that's a great thing in our book - while 'Space Lokum' is a throbbing revision of what sounds like a North African electro-disco obscurity (an Arab take on the Giorgio Moroder sound, basically). Over on the flip, 'Massi Tobi' is a boogie-era tropical disco gem from the Francosphere given a subtle makeover. In a word: excellent!

Review: IMS these days usually stands for the annual Ibiza Music Summit that kick starts each summer sedans, but for this disco-loving diggers out there, it means just one thing: International Music System. Here we have the latest reissue of some classic Italo disco tunes from the much-loved outfit, all remastered once more. This trip of top tunes have been taken from their 1983 album and they sound as good now as ever. 'An English '93' is a strident cut with melodies washing over the face of the cold drums and big chord stabs. 'Run Away' then gets breezy on a summer groove, and closer 'Bubble Rap' has that super old school feel.

Review: 50 years have now passed since Marc Cerrone made his recording bow as part of Kongas, so to celebrate the percussionist-turned-disco pioneer has revisited some of the greatest tracks in his collection, not only recording new versions, but also handing over the parts to some similarly minded remixers. There's some modern production trickery and effects, as well as freshly recorded replacement vocals, but the key ingredients of his sound - the grandiose orchestral arrangements, driving kick-drums and sweaty percussion workouts - remain in-tact. The plentiful highlights include the glossy and uplifting 'Got To Have Lovin', the Reflex's wonderfully low-slung interpretation of 'Look For Love', Dimitri From Paris's fizzing take on 'Love in C Minor' and a sterling new version of Cerrone's most famous hit of all, 'Supernature'.

Review: Miquel Brown's 1983 hit 'So Many Men - So Little Time' remains a staple in clubs worldwide. Now the Oculus Disco label presents a unique twist on this classic split across two sides of a 7". On the A-side, 'So Many Men' features a reimagined melody with stabs and an extended breakdown which offers perfect mix points for DJs. On the B, 'So Little Time' strips away glam for a tougher, darker tone. With emphasised claps and an acidic rhythm, this one is ideal for more moody rave environments.

Review: Joey Rico Sr., the Italo Disco maestro, reappears with a track that melts hearts from the off. This is the genuine article-no imitations here, just scorching cosmic disco with bright arps and electronic grooves that never quit. Featuring unparalleled yodelling, 'Melting in Switzerland' is another unique sound from Joey Rico Sr.'s on Nobell Foods and it has been pressed on premium wax. For extra delight, flip to the bonus mix aka the Extra Cheese dub on the verse which is no less effective and timeless, and is by no means cheesy in the traditional sense.
