Review: Following releases on Dansu Discs, Magic Carpet and Breaks N Pieces, Nicolas Duque returns this week with a new one on London's SITU. The Bogota based producer has been gaining attention for his recent contributions to the music scene, which blend nostalgia with contemporary electronics. The Misdirection EP showcases his versatility between genres, incorporating 4/4 kickdrums and playful bleeps. From the swinging hi-hats and classic bass notes of 'Ritmos Contundentes' to the mischievous yet light-hearted grooves of 'Midnight Library,' this EP is a futuristic display of Duque's artistry.

Review: Skygaze has some recent tunes remixed on this new Flumo Limited 12" and the results are nice and varied. The opener is from Allysha Joy who flips 'Night Heat' into a lively broken beat run through with warming and soulful synths and a sprinkling of percussion. 'Gimme Five' (Jailed Jamie & Lorenzo Soria remix) then ups the ante with a party-starting house vibe and fiery stabs. 'Wagwan' gets a fresh dose of broken beats from Divorce From New York that will have you flailing your limbs in all directions and Sofatalk & Footnote then keep things a little deeper with their jazzy and sun-kissed take on 'Minor Mood'. 'City Cathedratics' is the final cut and becomes a cosmic and heady, percussive and shimmering late-night sound thanks to the work of Karmasound remix.

Review: The 'Knights Of Utopia' is a stunning showcase of deep house music by UC Beatz, a Brussels based DJ, producer and label owner. The EP consists of four tracks that blend soulful vocals, jazzy keys, funky basslines and smooth grooves on Dutch label Four Framed Music. On the A-side is 'Sun Rayz' with its positive and energetic vibe that makes you want to get outside and dance, while by contrast 'Ups & Downs' is a deeper and darker track with a hypnotic synth melody and a driving drum beat. On the flip, 'Jack Is A G' is a tribute to Jackmaster; this funky and playful track respectfully pays homage to the classic house sound.

Review: Parisian based crew Hedzup have been cultivating an infectious sound through their events and releases, with WLAD reliably steering the ship while developing his own production style. It's a style which comes into sharp relief on this album KISS - an opus of warm, bouncy and playful minimal tech house with a heavyweight cast of collaborators. Oden & Fatzo and THEOS and Kong lend their talents to the seriously soul-slicked 'Korean BBQ', while Luca Donzelli keeps things shimmering and swinging on 'SeNor Espresso'. The production is gleaming throughout this record, so if you take your minimal house seriously then don't sleep on this one.
