Nairobi Market
Nairobi Market (Ted Amber remix)
Juicy Breakfast
Memesis
Review: Returning to Purple Print after contributing one to their second V/A, 'Dreaming In A Shell', Zenk links arms with Ted Amber for a new, formative four-track release. 'Nairobi Market' and its corresponding remix by Amber retread an apparent recent jaunt to Kenya, where a fantastical, mercantile mirage is said to have informed on the cyborg textures you hear here. 'Juicy Breakfast' takes and uses the dried viands bought on said market, amounting to a nice morning metal repast of nuts, bolts, and gluons: fatty acids, rivet potpourri, slippery background sound design. 'Memesis' titularly invokes the goddess of divine retribution but reduces her to an edible meme, as restless, posthuman vocalisations are heard to mutter and chirrup between snap-up beats.

Trippy Tits

Where Witches Find Peace
Review: The Purple Print family welcomes Loopdeville for a four-track exploration of late-night minimal and tech that is big on atmosphere. 'Insomniac 300' pairs rubbery, juddery drums and loopy synths with watery droplets for a nice heady start. 'Trippy Tits' is an afterparty classic in the mould of early Villalobos and 'Dig Bicks' layers dubby undercurrents with swirling, smudged vocal sounds for more zoned out 5am sessions. Last but not least, 'Where Witches Find Peace' taps into the Melchior school of minimalism with its frictionless drum loops and deft aesthetic touch, all soon to hypnotise.

Praymond - "Rue Des Solitaires"
Nils Weimann & Marc Philipp - "Yami"
Phill Prince - "Transit"
Liro - "Distance"
Review: Purple Print returns with the fourth instalment of its V.A. series, delivering four tightly coiled minimal house tools built for the floor. Praymond opens with 'Rue Des Solitaires', a smoky, late-night roller driven by crisp percussion and low-slung bounce-at 127 BPM, it sits right in the groove pocket. Nils Weimann & Marc Philipp follow with the slightly slower 'Yami', where taut rhythms and atmospheric detailing create a sense of suspended tension. On the flip, Phill Prince's 'Transit' gets back to 127 with skippy hats and a fluid, no-frills arrangement that keeps dancers locked. Closing the set, Liro's 'Distance' leans into dubby textures and understated swing, rounding out the release with a more meditative energy. Each cut lands with purpose, keeping things minimal but never inert-a sharp, versatile entry in the label's evolving series.
