Review: Old school Wisconsin based thrash-inflected death metal mammoths, Jungle Rot, make their Unique Leader debut with, A Call To Arms; the follow up to their crushing 2018 self-titled effort. With seasoned, visceral chops honed throughout the seminal nineties era, the band are an ironic outlier residing on a roster of slamming deathcore acts who all owe retrospective credence. Invoking their moniker and artwork with images of voodoo occultism, the decrepit, Lovecraftian design shrouds the jagged riffage, guttural vocals and claustrophobic percussion in a cosmic, otherworldly atmosphere.

Review: By the time they recorded "Songs of Praise" in 1990, African Head Charge had gone from being an Adrian Sherwood solo project to a fully-fledged band helmed by percussionist Bonjo Ivabinghi Noah. Here reissued to mark the album's 20th birthday, the set remains arguably the group's greatest single work. While rooted in the twin attractions of heavy dub and dense African percussion, the album makes extensive use of a dizzying array of influences, from gospel, steppers reggae and yacht rock, to traditional Arabic music, blues, disco, religious chants and even industrial music. This edition features a handful of decent bonus tracks, but they're unnecessary: the original album is little less than a masterpiece and should reside in every discerning listener's record collection.

Review: Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah and Adrian Sherwood have been working together as African Head Charge since 1981's all-time classic My Life In A Hole In The Ground. Of all the near-infinite reams of experimental dub production orbiting Sherwood's On-U Sound label, African Head Charge is surely one of the greatest and most revered projects and now after a pause since 2011's Voodoo of The Godsent their partnership is back on. A Trip To Bolgatanga takes us on a psychoactive journey to Noah's hometown in North Ghana, guided by his trademark, fiercely expressive percussion and Sherwood's mixing desk acrobatics, weighing in heavy and loaded with disorienting potential, which is just how we like it.

Review: These two powerhouses of pioneering dub meet up for the second time on this fantastic reissue by Burning Sounds originally released in 1978. The mostly instrumental album shows the duo helping to define the dub sound for the next generation of producers. Thanks to the inspirations and usage of Studio One, the sound is quintessential dub, like in the 'Garvey Dub' and title song 'Guerilla Dub'. They've not fully abandoned the traditional roots as you can hear in 'Malcolm X Dub' and 'Martin Luther Dub' though, turning them into more of remixes than original tracks. This album is a must for any 70s and 80s dub afficionado.

'Dubbing At King Tubby's Vol. 1 comes on nice red vinyl and has been fully remastered as well as being resequenced for this release. It is packed with 22 jams that made it one of the bestselling compilations of the 1990s. It showcases the already well-revered talents of King Tubby, Prince Jammy, Scientist, Phillip Smart, and Pat Kelly, all of whom work their magic at the mixing desk on a series of iconic dubs. Each one is rooted in the works of Bunny Lee and they all bring the drum and bass to the fore and show why the studio has such an impact on Jamaican music history.

He released over 70 albums in 25 years while always discussing broad, detailed topics with unmatched precision. Living Testament is his final album, recorded shortly before his death in November 2019. In October 2019, Vaughn recorded the 11 tracks at Ras Biblical's Trinity Farm studio in Grass Valley, California, over two days alongside 11 musicians including Tuff Lion and Manuel "Go A Chant" Guerra. The result is sure to endure through the ages as a fine example of roots reggae storytelling.

Review: Kevin Griffiths (aka Jura Soundsystem) is the man behind the Isle of Jura label and now it turns to Ambient Warrior once more for II, which comes a couple of years after the hugely successful reissue of their Dub's Journey album form 1995. This is a previously unreleased record made between 1995 and 1999 and it comes from the same pool of sound as that LP. It's a seamless blend of instrumental dub, reggae, bossa nova and tango music that is hugely immersive and distinctive. None of the tunes you will have heard before and that are more great windows into the minds of Ronnie Lion and Andrea Terrano.

Review: Sergey Dmitriev and Nikita Chepurnoi resurface as Amkarahoi, the experimental project which, the release notes tell us, have prepared an album that "conjures ghosts of 90s chill out tents, aqueous ambient, exploratory turn of the century IDM and echoes of jammy dub." Borne from a largely improvised show that took place in Saint Petersburg, overdubbed and mixed down, it's patient yet wildly exploratory stuff. Amkarahoi is the name of a remote Siberian region and it's easy to see why the pair picked it for this project's name. Uncle Reed In The Purple Mine sounds desolate and sparse, but once we hone in on the details we realise it's taking us though cold, barren atmospheres and into warm, E-hued soundscapes. A thoughtful yet spontaneous slice of immersive ambient you won't regret committing to.

You'll find these tracks beautifully crafted and seamlessly blending dub with skilful jazz influences. For those drawn to melodies, musique concrete, or dub's experimental edges, this record is a perfect fit. It was born from a remix tribute to Jackie Mittoo and has grown into an exploration of themes with improvisation, precision, and intimate details. Androo proves to be an unpredictable musical force and combines free jazz and contemporary music influences to deliver a liberating, genre-defying experience that challenges conventions.

Review: Midnight Rocker is regarded as one of the finest albums that noted reggae vocalist Horace Andy ever put out. It features plenty of his classic tracks all stylish rearranged with plenty of mature dub sounds all produced by the one and only Adrian Sherwood. Andy's voice has a deep, rich and vulnerable tone to it here across tunes like 1978 classic 'This Must Be Hell' while newer tunes like 'Try Love' find him in a more intimate mood than ever before. After more than five decades in the game, this proves that Horace Andy remains at the very top of his art.

Review: Horace Andy's Midnight Rocker, produced by Adrian Sherwood and released on On-U Sound, is a stunning late-career triumph that reimagines classic tracks and introduces fresh material. Known for his iconic vibrato-heavy falsetto, Andy has long been a defining voice in dub, having first gained fame in the 1970s through collaborations with Bunny Lee. Over the years, his voice has deepened and grown richer, adding layers of vulnerability and maturity that are beautifully showcased in this album. Sherwood's production enhances Andy's vocals by stripping down the original arrangements and introducing live instrumentation, which brings a modern clarity to the classic dub sound. Tracks like the reworked 'This Must Be Hell' lose their jazz piano but gain a driving bassline, making the song more dancefloor-ready. Similarly, the updated version of 'Materialis' uses a synth bass to amplify the emotional urgency in Andy's vocals, while Mr Bassie transforms from a plea into a powerful declaration. New songs like 'Watch Over Them' and 'Try Love' take Andy into the realm of lover's rock, with his voice perfectly complementing the syncopated rhythms. Throughout Midnight Rocker, Sherwood draws out some of Andy's most compelling performances, particularly on the intense 'Safe from Harm'. This album is a testament to Andy's enduring talent and leaves listeners eager for what's next from the 71-year-old legend.

Review: Horace Andy, the iconic Jamaican roots reggae vocalist, joins forces with former PiL bassist Jah Wobble for Timeless Roots, a fresh collection of studio recordings. Known for his collaborations with Massive Attack, Andy's unmistakable voice brings new life to classics like Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition', The Beatles' 'Come Together', and America's 'A Horse With No Name.' He also revisits his own hits, including 'Skylarking' and 'Natty Dread A Weh She Want', adding a new depth to these beloved tracks. Wobble's production seamlessly blends reggae with modern dub and world music, creating a rich, contemporary sound. Notable highlights include 'One Love', a revamped version of Andy's 1991 Massive Attack collaboration and a reinterpretation of 'Spying Glass.' The combination of Andy's timeless vocals and Wobble's masterful basslines results in an album full of vibrant, fresh takes on both classic and new material. Released on yellow vinyl through Cleopatra Records, this is shaping up to be one of the standout reggae albums of the year.

Review: Stockholm-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Art Longo impresses here with Echowah Island, a new album sure to wind its way into your affections. It was crafted over years in his home studio and is "psychotropical pop" drawing deep inspiration from late 80s music and dub. The album's lush soundscape evokes orange sunsets and ocean breezes and is layered with spring reverb, space echo and wah-wah effects that smooth out the edges as the steady pulse of vintage drum machines moves things on down low. A standout feature is Claudio Jonas, whose ethereal vocals recall classic French femme fatale singers of the 60s. Her poetic, kaleidoscopic lyrics add to a nostalgic dream world that gently bends reality and makes his both escapist and thought-provoking.

The purely instrumental album spotlights Pablo's famous ability on the melodica, as well as various other retro keyboards that dazzle and shine over the earthy reggae rhythms. The Jamaican called in high profile guests like Bob Marley's backing band The Wailers to help lay down these grooves, and both King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry were involved in the mixing. As such, it's a truly heavyweight offering that should be part of any self-respecting reggae lover's collection.

Review: Reissued via Only Roots in full, rejuvenated form, Rockers Meets King Tubbys In A Firehouse is a dub studio album by Augustus Pablo and King Tubby, first released in 1980. "Fire House" is a reference to the Waterhouse section of Kingston, where King Tubby's studio was located; however, one could consider it a double-entendre, not least since the only place to safely record such incendiary music is in a proverbial "fire station", otherwise all manner of fiery dub hell would presumably break loose. With the likes of Mickey "Boo" Richards, Leroy Wallace and Albert Malawi on drums, Robbie Shakespeare on bass guitar, and Earl "Chinna" Smith on guitar - together credited as the Rocking All Stars - the group conspire to produce such well-sculpted dub firebombs as 'Jah Say Dub' and 'Zion Is A Home'. This new reissue comes in the crispest quality yet, and once again rejumbles the original tracklist slightly.

Review: Big Crown Records is proud to present Zero Grace, Liam Bailey's sophomore album on the label. Following the success of 2020's Ekundayo album, the tried and true chemistry of Bailey and producer Leon Michels (El Michels Affair) is on full display again as they take the sound they established and push it further. On Zero Grace they lean more into the bleeding heart singer-songwriter side of Liam. The album is full of freedom and love; working with Leon Michels and Big Crown Records has encouraged Liam to be himself. On opener 'Holding On', Bailey speaks to his observations & fears when looking out at the world in front of him and also to the dedication it has taken to get on the other side of his personal trials & tribulations. 'Dance With Me', meanwhile, is an instantly infectious two-stepper that nods to those incredible soul records that were coming out of Jamaica during the early reggae days. Bailey addresses the racial tensions that plague humanity and encourages everyone to step up and do their part to help foster equality. What starts out as a declaration of injustice turns into a call for action and an inspiration for hope.

The eleven-track record explores soul-stirring, krautrock-tinged, and avant-garde electronic landscapes that are all rooted in emotive expression. His compositions feature ethereal voices in the form of fictional characters chanting in a language of their own creation, resonating with a captivating essence that transcends linguistic boundaries. Review: A long-standing figure on the London jazz scene, trumpeter Harry Beckett kept his music fresh over a long career, and none more so than on his debut On-U Sound release in 2008 produced by Adrian Sherwood, which invites reggae and dance music influences to happily live alongside his modal jazz flavours. Now reissued posthumously, The Modern Sound Of Harry Beckett tracks the legacy of this contemporary jazz eminent, who passed away in 2010. Beckett channels both his Caribbean roots and trumpeting abilities, offering a novel confounding of sparse, skittish beats verging on digidub, with spryly slick soundings of the horn. Made up of isolated recordings laid down by Beckett, and then celebratedly combined with dancehall and dub movements afterwards, our fave has to be the unabashedly dubstep godsend, 'Like You Didn't Know', which spreads Beckett's horns out to virtuosic effect, against a wickedly womping wash.

All those tracks are included alongside some superb new songs. They add up to a reggae and ska classic that leans on the old school but also brings plenty of fresh new styles.

Review: Big Red is a legendary artist from French reggae group Raggasonic who here presents Blood & Victory, a powerful album that blends sound system culture with modern dub. Released by Evidence Music, it showcases ten original tracks that unite reggae roots with contemporary bass influences. Collaborating with top French dub producers like OnDubGround, Little Lion Sound and Irie Ites, Big Red toasts over a dynamic mix of immersive rhythms. With socially charged lyrics addressing racism, police violence and societal flaws, his inimitable flow brings energy and emotion to Blood & Victory which is more than music-it's a manifesto for resistance and revolution.

Review: Dread Locks Dread, originally released in 1975 on KLIK Records and reissued by Front Line in 1978, stands as one of Big Youth's most defining albums. Known for his innovative DJ style, Big Youth's chant-like toasting brought a melodic, rhythmic energy to socially charged lyrics, making him one of reggae's most distinctive voices in the early 1970s. This album, featuring the legendary Skin, Flesh and Bones band with Lloyd Parks on bass and a young Sly Dunbar on drums, delivers a blend of punchy reggae rhythms and deep, immersive dub. Produced by Tony Robinson and Errol Thompson at Joe Gibb's studio, Dread Locks Dread shows Big Youth's ability to elevate classic reggae tracks with his unique vocal style. Highlights include 'Some Like It Dread', a reinterpretation of Dennis Brown's 'Some Like It Hot', enriched by bluesy harmonica, and 'Marcus Garvey Dread', a fiery version of Burning Spear's anthem. The album also features a brilliant take on John Holt's 'Keep on Moving' and a dub-heavy version of the Techniques' 'You Don't Care'.

Review: For those familiar with manchester sax player Birchall's previous forays into dub, this album offers a deep dive into the analogue 70s Jamaican dubbing techniques that have defined the genre, paying homage to the trailblazers like King Tubby and Errol Thompson. The source material is heavily percussive, resulting in a collection of dynamic, dubby drum workouts that seamlessly blend live drumming in the Count Ossie style with drum machines that recall Lee Perry's experimental approach. A highly anticipated dub companion to Nat Birchall's acclaimed Dimension of the Drums LP, this continues in a similar spirit of the previous. Drawing inspiration from classic dub albums like Keith Hudson's Pick A Dub and Winston Edwards' King Tubby Meets The Upsetter at the Grass Roots of Dub, Birchall reimagines the tracks with roots dub precision, incorporating fresh horn lines and hand drums to enhance the album's authentic, organic vibe. The LP includes two distinct mixes of a new rhythm track that wasn't part of the original album, adding an extra layer of excitement for listeners. Birchall once again handles all aspects of the albumiplaying instruments, recording, mixing and masteringiensuring a deeply personal touch in every track. All in total, eight tracks of instrumental dub bliss that transport you back to the golden era of reggae's most inventive sound.

Review: During Wellington's cultural renaissance, The Black Seeds emerged as trailblazers and soon hooked in audiences with their energetic live shows and earning a reputation as summer festival favourites. In 2004, they blended funk and soul into their signature roots-reggae style to create this, their second studio album which became not only a Triple Platinum album but also a defining moment in modern New Zealand music history. Featuring three hit singles and including the Quadruple Platinum anthem 'So True,' this record embodies the Kiwi summer spirit and Gareth Moon's accompanying video with the band cruising sunlit locales in a classic Holden wagon only cemented that legacy.

Review: Black Uhuru and Sly & Robbie was a powerhouse collaboration that gifted reggae some of its most vital anthems. Backed up by the toughest rhythm section in the business, Black Uhuru were able to push a new urgency in Jamaican music which has lost none of its power over 40 years later. This compilation on TABOU1 gathers together a treasure trove of A-sides, dub mixes and even especially resotred dubplate specials from Black Uhuru's purple patch between 1977 and 1980, when they were recording almost exclusively for Sly & Robbie's Taxi label. Some of these tunes are beyond the wildest dreams of any reggae devotee who knows their onions, but even for the casual listener there's magic in every riddim.

Every bit as powerful and abrasive as previous long players Remain and The Waking Nightmare, once again they take the dark imagery and intention from the original 1989 film and surge it into an unclassifiable and somewhat bewitching brew which has strong notes of IDM, metal and drum & bass. Highlights include the reflective dubby waves of 'Skara Brae', the high voltage tension of 'Lower Atlantis' and the skin-exfoliating 'Jerush-A-Salem'. Bloody good.

Review: Les Rhythmes Ruban's tunnel-visioned modus operandi is to churn out some of the toppest reggae and ambient dub on the East side of the Channel. This time they welcome twin producers Blundetto (Max Guiguet) and Pupajim (Jean-Marie Cariolet) to their roster, for the ambitious and sensorial collaborative version record Tancardub, in turn a comprehensive dubbing of their 2024 record Tancarville. Guiguet is a longtime favourite on the French dub, electro, jazz and all-else underground, having made his initial way in Dijon before cutting his teeth as the seasoner of many a vocal artist's track, including Akale Wube and Hindi Zahra. Cariolet, meanwhile, is a favourite member of the renowed dub troupe Stand High Patrol, and has been at and about it since at least 2009. Together, Tancarville was an impressive roots rollick, with 'Groenland' standing out as the vespertine vocal number; but system huggers will appreciate this version much better, since Tancardub wholly commands a crisper yet stiffer, rattlier POV on an initially serene album.

Review: The latest compilation on CTR, curated by Jason Boardman of Before I Die Records, dives into the rich, underground landscape of early 1980s post-punk. This collection offers a fascinating glimpse into the era's DIY ethos, featuring rare and never-before-heard tracks that encapsulate the innovative spirit of the time. From the 2-Tone-influenced Skeet in Coventry to the dub experiments of Surface Mutants with Cabaret Voltaire, the album uncovers a trove of hidden gems that have largely flown under the radar. One track even boasts a unique post-punk diss track, adding a touch of rebellion to the mix. Boardman has unearthed a variety of tracks, some even sampled by the likes of DJ Shadow, showcasing the lasting influence of these obscure artists. The compilation highlights a time when independent musicians, studios, and labels banded together, bypassing major labels in pursuit of their creative vision. While it's not a comprehensive guide to the era, this album shines a spotlight on the overlooked and underappreciated, giving these artists the recognition they've long deserved, not to mention the enduring power and creativity of the post-punk underground.

This classic album gets a deserving and limited, numbered, 180-gram pressing on orange vinyl that perfectly showcases Boothe's signature style. The album features notable tracks such as Syl Johnson's well-known cover of 'Is It Because I'm Black' and the iconic 'Let's Get It On' which was originally by Marvin Gaye. Boothe's smooth vocals and the album's rich instrumentation make this a superb listen and a great reminder of Boothe's influences on the genre.

Review: Black, Gold & Green was the first of three albums Ken Boothe recorded with producer Lloyd Charmers, who did fine job of elevating his Memphis-via-Kingston sound. Featuring some of Boothe's finest soul vocals, standout tracks include 'Out of Love,' 'Missing You,' and the gritty 'Second Chance' which offers up a vocal style reminiscent of the one and only dock man, Otis Redding. Rooted in powerful religious and social messages, the album carries a deep political undertone throughout. Quite notably, it also features a superb cover of Bill Withers' lovely 'Ain't No Sunshine' as part of an album that marked a significant evolution in Boothe's fusion of Jamaican soul and reggae.

Review: Originally released at a time when Kruder & Dorfmeister reigned supreme and Germany and Austria boasted some of the finest dub-fired downtempo producers around, Bozoo Bajou's debut album, Satta, was something a sleeper hit. As this 25th anniversary reissue proves, it remains a deliciously languid, laidback and glassy-eyed affair that mixes subtly jazzy instrumentation (Rhodes, jazz guitar etc), dubby bass and luscious string arrangements with slow-motion trip-hop beats and dusty samples. The plentiful highlights include 'Night Over Manaus', a samba-soaked shuffler, luscious opener 'YMA', jazzy head-nodder 'Under Mi Sensi' and the exotic, G-Stone style stoned haziness of 'Bakar'.

On this occasion they're looking to the work of Jamaican legend Boris Gardiner, a singer, bassist and guitarist with a long and winding history through the beating heart of reggae culture. Ultra Super Dub is the rarest of rare dub treasures, pulled from Gardiner's prolific mid 70s era and originally issued by a Miami-based label in an incredibly short run. On it, you can expect to hear superlative, skeletal versions of classics from Otis Redding, Jimmy 'Bo' Horne and many more. Of course, the sonic treatment is top-notch on this reissue, and there's in-depth writing from Jeff Mao to take you into the world these versions came from. This is how a reissue should be done.

He co-founded the Teams label in the late 1960s with Patrick 'Jah Lloyd' Francis and gained fame producing at Channel One Studio with The Revolutionaries, notably on The Mighty Diamonds' 'Shame and Pride.' Brooks later worked at Duke Reid's Treasure Isle Studio, contributing to Pat Kelly's "Night And Day," and collaborated with notable artists like Blacka Morwell and Earl 'Chinna' Smith. After a stint with The Tots, Brooks launched a successful solo career and his 1978 debut album, What A Gathering, came ahead of a hiatus which was followed by One Love in 1983, recorded at King Tubby's and supported by The Roots Radics. The reissue on vinyl by Burning Sounds includes tracks like 'Grooving,' a Bob Marley cover, and addresses themes of relationships, love, and personal reflections.

The Jamaican reggae luminary fearlessly navigates a diverse landscape of themes, from love and life to faith and social issues, with a depth and honesty that resonates deeply. 'Hopes (Small World)', featuring Capleton, is a fiery call to action, a sonic embodiment of the genre's ability to address social injustices and inspire change. Tracks like 'Patience, God & Time' and 'Heads Up' offer moments of quiet contemplation and encouragement, while 'Inside Warm' and 'Love Story' explore the complexities of love and relationships with a raw honesty that is both refreshing and relatable. An exploration of the human experience, a tapestry woven with threads of love, loss, faith and resilience.

Review: Jamaican born singer Roland Burrell had a pretty vast catalogue by the later stages of his career, most of it recorded at the legendary Channel One Studio with the likes of Sly & Robbie, The Tamlins and Winston Wright. They were engineered by dons like Scientist and he went on to work with Lee 'Scratch' Perry. After he produced 'Lonely Man' he went on to some solo acclaim and recorded the hit 'Johnny Dollar' which topped several global charts. That one along with other beats like 'Hey Mama' and 'Stormy Night' feature here on a fine overview of his work.

Review: Byron Lee was an important part of Jamaican music from his first appearance in the 60s and onwards. Amongst his bustling back catalogue is this cheery classic from 1980, which keeps the heart and soul of ska alive, with an emphasis on the soul. The rhythms are reliably skanking throughout, whether stopping by the melancholic 'Shoobe Doobe Doo' or the chirpy 'Bend Down Low'. This is ska in its truest sense, with an infectious energy which speaks universally to young and old, hip and square. You can also hear the strong US RnB roots of the music in Lee's songwriting, and it tugs at the heart strings in just the same way. Grab an immaculate album of honest, earnest songwriting magic with all the irrepressible joy of Jamaica coursing through its veins.

Review: 1978 was a standout year for the great Al Campbell, with five album releases across various labels. This particular album, originally released on Phil Pratt's Terminal label, was originally released in 1981 and stands as one of his most notable. It features powerful roots tracks like 'Foot Stool,' 'Soul Sister' and 'No More Running' which combine militant rhythms with Campbell's soulful vocals fusing conscious reggae and emotional depth. It is a true classic of its genre that now comes on nice coloured wax that looks as good as it sounds.

Review: Reggae Charmers was originally released in 1970 and it showcased the best of Lloyd Charmers, who was born Lloyd Tyrell. His career spans Jamaica's vibrant musical eras from the late 50s shuffle r&b and ska boom to the rocksteady and roots reggae of the 60s and 70s. Across those years, Charmers excelled as a vocalist, session musician, and producer and after taking up the piano in 1966, he soon formed his own band. It backed artists like Ken Parker, Max Romeo, Pat Kelly, John Holt, and Slim Smith & the Uniques while Charmers also sang with the Uniques and gained a reputation for delivering some of the era's most compelling rhythms.

Review: French-Spanish, Latin soul and Afrobeats singer-songwriter Manu Chao returns to the fore with Viva Tu ('Long Live You'), a heartwarming Latin ska and worldbeat album dedicated to uncovetable, amicable neighbourly relations between members of the public. After the release of the eponymous lead single, the full record comes now in full cordial force. With its sleepily descendant vocals giving off the sense of a narrator too sunkissed to care, Viva Tu is an al fresco listening experience, one that also nonetheless betrays Chao's seasoned, well-tanned skin in the game. Now 63, this is a comeback album "inspired by (Chao's) travels and people's daily lives", and it hears him hark after something like a universal language, flexing his multilingual chops by singing in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English. All this forms part of Chao's mission to address the various global issues facing humanity today, in such a manner as only he can do best; he treats music as a vehicle for a humanistic global activism, aiming to promote anti-capitalist, antifascist and without-borders content.

Review: French Latin ska/dancehall artist Manu Chao (Los Carayos, Hot Pants) shares 'Viva Tu', his latest single pre-empting his upcoming solo summer stomper of an album. A wholesome ode to the neighbourly charms of his Chao's home city, 'Viva Tu' translates to "long live you!", and sports a universal message of simple merriment and streetwise hobnobbing. From "the one who sells tickets on the subway, to the street-sweeper", Chao's call for love - mediated by the irresistible sweetmeats of rhythm guitar and trilling ad-libs - excludes no-one. It's also a great, sweet-hearted song.
