After a time away, it seems that New York techno titan Levon Vincent is now back and making some of his best work once again. He always had a darkly sparse and futuristic take on techno that dealt in occult melodies that were edgy but beautiful. They are represent and correct on this new cassette release Work In Progress with 13 cuts that take in pulsing deep house, twitchy future techno and plenty of raw club beats. There are also lo-fi drum frenzies, icy hi hats over thudding drums and all in all it makes for an immersive sonic sketchbook from the Novel Sound label head.
