Review: Bong Ra and Enduser have paired here to offer an ear-shattering, subwoofer-wrecking, dancefloor-packing record which combines the best of both artist. From Bong-Ra's fast edits and forceful beats to Enduser's infectious basslines and crunchy drums, "The Kill" is this piece of music that anybody even remotely interested in breakcore will enjoy and cherish.

Review: This reworked version of Cloaks' decidedly gritty 2009 debut album Versus Grain has been a long time coming. For those with a love of heavy industrial beats and head-warping rhythms, it may well have been worth the wait. Sitting somewhere between the outer reaches of experimental techno, scratchy post dubstep, warped IDM and classic industrial rhythms of Meat Beat Manifesto, Version Grain is a full-throttle assault on the senses. At times, it's surprisingly sparse and rhythmically hypnotic (see the Ancient Methods remix of "RFID"), at others creepy and agonisingly intense (Devilman's fractured dubstep version of "Against"). Throughout, it remains gloriously in-your-face.

Review: A couple of years back, DJ David Goblin (an alias of Belgian designer/DJ/producer David Coquelin) unleashed "Ork Muzik", a bizarre-but-brilliant debut that comprised two insanely action-packed DJ mixes and a couple of similarly eccentric, hard-to-pigeonhole tracks. This follow-up is similarly unhinged - think mind-mangling mutations of rave, industrial, grime, techno, trance and gabber, chopped up and reassembled in the most madcap of ways - and contains a range of collaborations and solo tracks from a wide range of similarly-minded associates. It's ridiculously hard to accurately describe and concrete info is hard to come by- aside from the involvement of Low Jack under the B-Ball Joint alias - but suffice to say it's the kind of set that inspires fear, enjoyment and laughter in equal measure. Delightfully bonkers.

Review: To those of a sensitive disposition, gabba is a riddle. Yet for its many fans, it not only makes perfect sense but also remains the one true dance style dedicated to the "higher, harder, faster" credo. In the past 15 years, few have done more to spread the gabba gospel than Dutch DJ/producer Neophyte. His self-titled label has been pushing the genre forward - including hip-hop samples, trance riffs and bouncy elements alongside the genre's traditional pummelling rhythms and bone-shaking basslines - since 1999. Here, the man himself celebrates the label's history to date with a full-on two-disc mix that perfectly showcases its driving, genre-bending style.

Review: The long deleted underground classic from the infamous Iron Monkey, Produced by Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Cradle of Filth, Exodus, Nevermore) "Our Problem" features the original controversial art from notorious artist Mike Diana. Pantera's Phil Anselmo reportedly overdosed while listening to "Our Problem". Iron Monkey released two albums on Earache and single-handedly brought the US sludgecore sound to the UK underground. Without Iron Monkey, Raging Speedhorn would never have happened. Their live gigs became legendary for their menace and violence. The band toured relentlessly in the UK and developed a devoted following amongst fans and media alike. Having split, the various band members spent time in acts like The Dukes of Nothing, Capricorns and Helvis.

Review: The amazing recreation area Bussloo in the Netherlands has forever been carved in the minds of all people supporting the harder musical styles since 1993. It was at this particular location where Mysteryland at that time the only Dutch Festival Programming the hardest styles laid the foundation for what soon became an international phenomenon creating a vast group of followers. Many years later the harder styles returned to these sacred grounds on the 1st of July 2006 presenting a brand new concept in a futuristic and sinister setting 'Ground Zero - The Underground Night Gathering'. Both organisations behind this mega event - UDC and Multigroove - already successfully collaborated during Impulz 2004 and soon after that plans were made to develop something huge at recreational area busaloo. And huge it became. 'Ground Zero - The Underground Night Gathering' presented an open air festival of harder styles unique in its kind as it was held during the night consisting of eight areas of which two open air. Hardstyles, hardhouse, hardtrance, old school, early bass hardcore, darkcore, schranz and psy trance covered a big spectrum of harder styles presented by a fantastic line-up of 86 artists which showed a nicely balanced combination of established and underground national and international performers. Some very unique back-to-back combinations were formed accompanied by live-acts rarely to perform in the Netherlands. CD1 - One of the biggest headliners on the Ground Zero main stage was without a doubt the Italian master of turntablism Daniele Mondello. This DJ is well known for his tight mixing his fierce selection of typical Italian and Dutch hardstyle with an underground edge and combining this all with tight spot-on scratching and turntable tricks. Daniele Mondello selected 21 of the latest hardstyle bombs showing a great combination of the newest Italian and Dutch releases on CD1. CD2- The Ground Zero hardcore area programmed a fine line up with national and international hardcore and early rave grandmasters. One of them is the legendary Amsterdam based DJ Buzz Fuzz known for his many hits produced under aliases such as DJ Buzz Fuzz, Tony Salmonelli, Square Dimensione with DJ Gizmo Pino, Dambini Bertocucci Feranzano and Notorious for his frantic DJ sets as 25 of the infamous dreamteam. For CD2 the Buzz dove into his immense pile of early rave records and hand-picked 22 of his all time personal favourites expect a slammin mix of Buzzs own classics those good old PCP tracks and a choice of Italian and Dutch early rave.
