Review: The team behind upstart imprint De La Groove has done a fine job on this compilation style extravaganza, which features tracks from an impressive selection of hotly tipped producers. Highlights include the bouncy, shirts-off loop-disco of Cody Currie's "ACE, At The Point of Collapse", the super-groovy, jazz-flecked deep house warmth of Demuir's "Let's Get In It", the effervescent sweetness of Black Loops' summery roller "French Affair", and the fluttering flute solos of Hotmood's goodtime jazz-funk revision "Voyage To The Onda". The purest expression of jazzy, smoky deep house is provided by COEO, whose clarinet-sporting "Azzurro" is probably our pick of a very strong bunch.

Bryan Jones, Harrison Crump and Felipe Avalar all contributing to this one, with cuts heavy on the late night disco tip and jerky herky Chicago house grooves. Picks include "Underground Rockin" and the soaring "Lost In Music" but really all the cuts and DJ tools will find a place on the dancefloor. Excellent stuff for old-school Paul Johnson, DJ Sneak and Stacy Kidd heads...

What is love? An ancient emotion? Or a relatively recent sociological construct used to justify convenient marriages from the Victorian era onwards? This 90s dance anthem by the Trinidadian-German artist Haddaway readily asks the question and it's fair enough that he does - he wants to be sure, since he also asks us not to hurt him in the same breath. Love is a fickle beast, one that can placate and violate in equal measure, but thankfully eurodance is one of the best sounds through which to express it. Its catchy synth hook, pulsing beat, and Haddaway's soulful vocals make this a timeless club hit that still resonates today.

Review: Italo Hits makes no bones about its musical mission. Next up to do exactly that the label says on its tin is Hammer, a returning artist who has already this year served up his fine 'I Wanna Be Like You' EP. He is well known as a hit maker as well as being a partner and blogging friend of Bicep and doesn't disappoint here: 'Think About Me' is a nice late night and silky Italo grover with warm chord work and busy, chilly drums that lock you right in. On the flip of this tasty yellow 10" is 'Paraiso Tan' with its sunset vibe, balmy neon colours and retro-future Italo disco licks.

Review: Hamburg-based duo Hard Drive Library return to do what they do best on the fourth edition of their eponymous imprint: hooky filter house tunes, extremely raw and unforgiving. On the A-side you've got the bumpin' dancefloor heater 'Keep It Groovin' and its hypnotic vocal refrain that'll have the crowd grooving 'til the break of dawn, plus two more rough and ready jams over on the flip. There's the quirky and low slung bounce of 'Donkey Damage' as well as the funked-up disco loop action on 'Dancin Heat' reminiscent of classic DJ Sneak.

Review: Prescription Classics continue their sterling effort to reissue Chicago's House music heritage - launching the first in a series of what we hope is many From The Vaults EPs. Originally released way back in 1998, "Coming Back" is a fine example of US Garage from Kurt Harmon, adding a soulful holler that rides the deep bumping rhythms of what was originally Ron Trent's "Pop, Dip and Spin" with natural aplomb. On the flip it's Mr Trent in full effect with the 1995 gem "Piano Track" that swiftly locks into a heavily percussive groove, with swathes of looped piano flourishes and the ever present vocal lead vying for attention amidst some energy driven chord washes.
