Review: We're not sure who's behind the mysterious AC-EXP project, but the shadowy figure returns with more of that strange, submerged house music he's been tickling discerning DJs with over the past few years. After taking last year off, "1A" is a fine place to start things up again with a strutting jack track carrying acidic synth pulses that flirt with measured delay processing. It's a jam that sounds steamy and sinister all at once. "1B" maintains this restrained but seductive vibe with the slightly trancey throb of the lead synths pivoting around the snappy drums to great effect.

Review: An Aeroplane classic gets the Deetron treatment on the second limited edition 10" release from the Eskimo label. Originally released as part of Aeroplane's ambitious debut LP We Can't Fly, the Merry Clayton featuring "I Don't Feel" had never been remixed before the Swiss producer was invited to rework it as part of the exhaustive, multi disc ten year anniversary Eskimonde compilation from the seminal Belgian imprint. No doubt the track had previously remained untouched due to Clayton's powerful vocal turn which melded perfectly with Vito De Luca's rubbery Hi NRG production, but you can't fault the way that Deetron has reworked it, laying down an extended intro that burns with intensity before dropping a thumping, precision tooled beat. A previously unreleased Instrumental version adds some heat on the flip.

Review: After five successful releases which have generated support by Martin Landsky, Dominik Eulberg, Plastikman, Michael Mayer, Frank Lorber, Mandy etc. These 10" coloured vinyls have reached number 6 (out of 10) in the series. once again labelowner Agaric has made the A-side track, for this one a delightfully melancholic peace of music yet with a pounding bottom groove to go with it. Guesting the B-side is the brilliant young star from Jena: Mathias Kaden, known for recent outstanding work on labels like Vakant and Freude Am Tanzen.

Review: Aline Umber is a new alias of Aline Brooklyn, hailing from the New York area's hottest tech house hub. Monile, meanwhile, is a Spanish artist whose past cuts never failed to dazzle for imprints such as Chez Doc. Together, the pair present a dazzling dialectic of straight tunage. 'Quin' is a cheeky and insidious minimal number, with filtrated and toothy basslines and reversed sound effects ensuring a moody groove. 'Short Message Service', meanwhile, is a danceably telecommunicative vision of the retrofuture - phone bleeps, 80s tropes, and a 4x4 undertow.

Review: Tony Allen's most recent long player, Film Of Life, is revisited here with both Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer, and rising house producer Fort Romeau tasked with remixing the Nigerian drummer's work. Vilod, as they are preferring to be called these days, sit up top with a typically long form take on "African Man" which reconstitutes the blaring horn funk of Allen's original piece into a subtle 12 minute reduction of electronic house music. On the flip Ghostly artist Fort Romeau reimagines the Damon Albarn featuring "Go Back" as whispy, deep house with some charming analogue synth flourishes.

Review: Frankfurt record shop Gosu are back with the next instalment of their in-house label by OFFM regular Rob Amboule. The British producer has been making records for some years now, on labels like 20:20 Vision, Heidi's The Jackathon and more recently OSMAN and NorthSouth, initially starting out in London. A chance encounter led him to Frankfurt and after a short while he decided to relocate out to the Main area. A long-time friend of the label as well as Freebase (RIP), his skills developed with the encouragement of label bosses Manuel Schatz and Phil Evans. Amboule presents Gosu 9.5: on the A side we've got the funky and chunky all analogue electro futurism of "9.5 B", while on the flip things go in a more straight ahead direction on the classic techno excursion of "9.5 D" - taking the very best elements of Detroit and Yorkshire in its stride.

Review: Berlin duo Ame share the delicious progressive future house polyp bloomer 'Asa' through their home imprint Innvervisions. In the label's own introspective words, the duo of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann are a regular fixture of the international festival DJ circuit, and have managed to retain the freshness of their image despite technically not having released any new music in just over three years - until now. Released with little accompanying context besides the dripping-wet, papillary form depicted on the front cover, 'Asa' is an arylide sonic yellow, made up of variably filtered stabs and rattling, naturalistic percussions; the track conjures the image of a lively marine gala, and recalls the extenuated disco-house blooms of Maurice Fulton especially, its buzzsaw leads helping the track along to a dazzling pre-climax at around the five minute mark.

They Prove here that they are big talents with their release 'Was Berlin', the 6th release of the very successful Minisketch 10inch series. On the A-side we hear deep pulsating beats with a groovin drive that just make you want to wobble. The flip is even funkier with a smooth driving bassline.

Review: The tune combines the depths of underwater dub with elegant and flighty techno riffs, all kept together by a relentless bass beat. Whether you're looking to gear your groove deep or to keep the dancefloor full, "Wata" will satisfy your thirst. The original track can be found here in all its progressive beauty. The b-side contains an all-out minimal techno re-rub, much like what you would hear Richie Hawtin drop from his Minus label. As swirling sound effects surround the listener, plodding drums make for a particularly punchy and trippy late-night ride. Clocking in at over 9 whopping minutes, you couldn't be more satisfied with the track progression or its minimalism.
