Saving My Love (4:18)
Review: Adam Port, &ME and Rampa at team up with Little Dragon are quite the collaboration here on 'Saving My Love', a one track 12' where the deep house sound of Berlin collides with Swedish pop sensibilities. Proper mood music for late night basement parties, the Keinemusik trio's idiosyncratic style of bold, emotive and futuristic groove is the perfect backdrop to Yukumi Nagano's breathtaking vocals. Tip!

Mid Valley (7:58)
Samo (6:20)
Review: Back in January, &On&On (a DJ/production duo comprised of Noni and Worth Way) were named by DJ magazine as 'ones to watch' in 2022. It's taken them the best part of the year to deliver on that promise, but the pair's Lost Palms debut - their first 12-inch of the year - is packed to the rafters with quietly impressive fare. For proof, check opener 'All Day', a tactile and gently warming blend of deep chords, techno synths and swinging, garage-influenced house beats, before basking in the wide-eyed breakdowns and classic-sounding deep house grooves of 'Melted'. Elsewhere, 'Delta T' is a wonderfully sub-heavy chunk of breakbeat techno headiness, 'Mid Valley' is a sparse, stripped-back, electro influnenced roller and 'Samo' is a psychedelic techno shuffler.

Review: Back in stock. What a treat this is, badged up with the catalogue number Sahko 1.5 this is material from Ø, aka Mika Vainio which has never been previously released on vinyl! The tracks were written in 1993, some time in between the Sahko 001 and the Sahko 002 EPs, and released on the absolutely seminal "Tulkinta" album - it has taken 10 years for them to surface finally on wax. Now thank goodness you can play these tracks as they really should be heard, very loud and possibly in a sweaty club, getting your minimal groove on. With massive support recently from none other than the hairstyle-challenged Richie Hawtin, who featured a whole heap of Ø tracks in his latest "DE9" mix CD, this release couldn't be more timely and more desired. My suggestion would be to get hold of this now before it disappears once more forever.

Review: Back in stock. The second part of Mika Vainio's silver series (along with Sahko001), this EP is something of a techno classic. It would later appear on the Tulkinta album, but the 12" has been out of press for over ten years, so it is wonderful to see this back on the shelves, to entice a new generation of listeners into its glorious analogue techno world. What I find so endearing about the Ø records is Vainio's ability to make minimal, edgy techno music sound so glacial and other-worldly. An Ø record sounds exactly like an Ø record and in the twelve years since this was released, nobody has managed to match or recreate anything to come close to these tracks. You know what to do, grab this now before it disappears for another ten years! Totally unmissable.

Still
Hold On
To Nadja
Review: After emerging out of the 8-bit and chiptune scene, Stefan Klaas turned his hands to more minimal fare, which has largely been issued on his own 31337 imprint over the past seven years. "Still" takes the lead on the A side with an austere arrangement populated by the finest slithers of percussive ticks, accented by a spacious chord with no need for anything else to clutter the mix. "Hold On" simmers the concoction down even further, creating a dark and enticing stalker out of the barest elements. "To Nadja" glides across the whole of the B side with a more robust rhythm section, using a snappy breakbeat to tell a story as the track unfolds.

Trent (6:51)
Beek (6:55)
Review: As his artist alias suggests, 100HZ has a great knack for making brain tingling frequencies that permeate deep into your psyche. 'Big Joint' manages to be brilliantly deep and rich in its make up despite being relatively sparse. Distant pads swarm like midges round a rubbery bassline and delicate percussion. 'Trent' - which may or may not be a reference to deep house don Ron Trent - has a late night sense of menace to the prying chords and icy, prickly drums and 'Beek' is perfect dead of night house music that demands you zone in on the little details and get utterly lost in the moment. Superb.

Machines Of May (7:25)

Dark As Night (7:43)
Swiss (6:26)
Review: Since returning to action in 2016 after a seven-year break, 1990s techno survivor Lee Renacre AKA 100 Hz has released some of the best music of his career. This fine four-tracker marks the long-serving Londoner's first outing on Romanian imprint Amphia, who are best known for serving up sparse, minimalistic tech-house. As you'd expect, there's a slightly fuller sound here, though sonically it's as pleasingly druggy and mind-mangling as much of the imprint's output. Renacre brilliantly flits between trippy, arpeggio-driven, house-tempo techno (the otherworldly 'Machines of May'), dubstep-influenced UK bass/techno fusion ('Gadget', which echoes the ethos of his early 100 Hz releases with James Chapman), intergalactic tech-house ('Dark as Night'), and frankly filthy low-end wobblers ('Swiss').

Review: The ever prolific Lee Renacre is on Constant Sound in his 100Hz guise for a fresh trip through expressive techno and house music delivered with a warm, old-skool flavour. 'Jive' skips and twirls across the A side in a swung, sprightly exploration of soft and rounded synth lines and pleasingly chunky beats, capturing a dusky ambience along the way that's so easy to melt into. 'Honkey (Crazy Hats)' takes things deeper with a more rhythm-focused joint that maintains a submerged feel throughout. 'Ochos' completes the set with a deep tech house meditation rich in melodious uplift, striking a spiritual tone which would go down very well with someone bumping records on Yoruba and other such labels.

Rufus - "Conseguenza" (Cab Drivers remix) (8:44)
Review: New label Lumbago drop a new, tasty, hand-stamped house belter to soothe all of your winter blues, and it's clear that the imprint are very much here to stay. Instead of going for the glory-hunting, they've decided to release music from a selection of rising names, but from the sounds of "Inappropriate" by 100Hz, the quality factor is very much present. Even Octave's "Racing", a rough, analog house banger with an industrial edge, packs enough of a punch to make us wonder why we haven't been name-dropping him more often. Over on the flip, Nightdrivers member Rufus, who is often heard alongside Mass Prod, drops the supremely funky "Conseguenza", a disco-tinged house roller that's given the dub-house treatment by the increasingly present Cab Drivers. Excellent material, right here.

Review: "Time" is the first track produced by 2 Rare People and originally debuted in the summer of 2002 on Dpress Industries. This single includes 3 new versions, starting with a mix by Pascal Feos that falls somewhere between the minimal-tech house of Matthew Johnson and the potent click house of Ricardo Villalobos, yet always with the tech house groove that has become Feos' signature. The second track is a remix by Mark Broom, who delivers a potent techno groove with a powerful bassline and a distinctive melody. To finish things off, 2 Rare People remix themselves in an exercise in danceable Detroit electro.

other contemporary house tracks dissolve the tension with superfluous sounds, 2000 And One's production has a striking,
efficient economy. He condenses the uplifting nature of this style of music: with the compellingly humble bassline and the
restrained fanfare, New York House sparkles in its most basic beauty. It is music that cultivates simplicity as an art form.

Tape (Burnski remix)
Tape (Dirt Crew dub mix)
Review: The 2020 Soundsystem boys return with an even more DJ friendly edit of the funky electronic disco, Greg Wilson inspired track "Tape". "Tape" is taken from 2020 Soundsystem's debut album "No Order", which was released earlier this year to 5 star reviews across the board. The guys worked on their original sound, influenced by the classic 80s electrofunk sets of the brilliant Greg Wilson, to give the track an extra dancefloor injection. Our first remixer Burnski, a fresh, new talent who has already made his mark through releases on Infant Records, Morris Audio and Trapez. He takes things deeper with his trademark clicky style, but still keeping the funk stuck in the grooves. Dirt Crew have been cleaning up with their productions on prestigious labels such as Moodmusic, Gomma, Breastfed, Soma, Crosstown Rebels and now 2020 Vision. Dirt Crew deliver two killer mixes in their trademark solid, hypnotic, electronic house style. The dub keeps things stripped down and heads down, whilst the main mix, which is only available digitally, goes straight for the jugular with a Teutonic rave sound.

Acid Planes
Review: Detroit's James T. Cotton and D'Marc Cantu are back with Part 2 of their dark acid collaboration as 2 AM/FM. Ramping up the jacking rhythms of their first 12", the duo works from a distinctly old school percussive palette to craft the propulsive backbeat of "Sweatbox" and the massive groove of "Ace Of Spades." The epic "Acid Planes" is an exercise in polyrhythmic permutation with the potential to take the entire dancefloor captive for its 13-minute duration. Continuing to earn their place amidst the heroes of the hugely influential Chicago acid house scene, 2 AM/FM make another stunningly strong case for the genre's vitality.

Conti, Gianluca Rastelli and Marco Cucchia. They dropped only five EPs between 1993 and 1999 with this being the pick of the bunch. It hits the perfect sweet spot between the driving of hypnotic techno, the melodies of trance and the dreaminess inherent to much Italo music. Track one is a dark but smooth roller, the second has a stomping tech house energy to it and the third asnd fourth close out the EP with two more edgy techno stylers that bring old school cool to any club.

These tracks were originally released on Push back in 1996 and offer a window into his innovative approach, even though he was in his formative years. All these decades on, they still bang. 'Moon' is textured, edgy techno with restless drum rhythms and metallic percussive sounds, 'Other Edge' is a psyched-out number with bleeping melodies and thudding drums and 'Magic Edge' strips tings back to deep, pulsing bass, lashings of synth detail and a paranoid mood while 'Stash' shuts down with more slow motion sounds for the post-rave comedown.

Dave Seaman & Hernan Cattaneo - "Napkin Knowledge" (7:28)

Review: In celebration of their tenth birthday, Selador marks the occasion in style with a four-track collaborative EP, featuring tracks from 3D, Robert Owens, Olivier Giacomotto, Quivver, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Argia, and Jepe. The opening track, 'Known Love', is a deep, pulasting house tune that feels like an instant classic, perhaps thanks to the soulful, pop-tinged vocals - think LCD soundsystem meets Four Tet. 'Snailblazer', the second track on the EP, takes a much darker turn, with a chugging, EBM-esque feel. Full-bodied and complete with obscured vocals, this is the kind of track to pull out your bag when it's time to really get stuck in. On the B-side, 'Napkin Knowledge' draws on the glistening synths of eurodance, yet still securing the melodies to a grounded bassline and rhythm section. 'Salitre' is the perfect closing track, rising up in a gleaming, ecstatic melody, before delicately returning to ground level. A varied yet firmly cohesive collaborative release - the perfect way for Selador to kick off their 2023 catalogue.

Review: Former Twig and Manitou contributors 616 have been silent since launching their 616 Lab series of 12" singles back in 2019, making this typically stripped-back and mind-altering EP long overdue. We'll forgive them though, because there's some seriously good material amongst the four numerically titled tracks on show. '212' for example, is a deliciously squelchy and spacey chunk of off-kilter tech-house-funk, while '186' adds chiming, Brown Album-era Orbital style melodies and acid lines to a hybrid electro/techno beat. The fun continues on the flip, where the UKG influenced acid two-step of '229' comes followed by the doom-laden sci-fi techno stomp of '189'.

This single is a vessel for the various sides of Tommi Vicari Jr, who rolls out his Czevski alias to deliver a bruising remix of "57 Hertz" by 76-79. Review: It's been a while since the Albion stable graced our platters, but they're back in style with more of that on-point house music voodoo for the heat of the night. This single is a vessel for the various sides of Tommi Vicari Jr, who rolls out his Czevski alias to deliver a bruising remix of "57 Hertz" by 76-79. It's a reverb-soaked, dubbed out affair with a rock solid rhythm section and plenty of trippy FX tweaking on top. On the flip it's a different story with a similar feeling as we get the straight up Tommi Vicari Jr material in the shape of two killer tracks crafted for transcendental moments of dancefloor hypnosis.

Review: Matt Hodgson's 7th Voyage is one of those mid-90s labels that enjoyed cult status almost from the off. Its releases helped to define the sound of the London underground of the time and have since become pricey and sought after. The Return Voyage is a new seven-track collection of back-catalogue gems that pays tribute to the label's fine work. From the deep and atmospheric 'Big Hips Blue Gloves (No Dubs)' by Tactics Of Bass to the squelchy lo-fi hip-hop funk of The Secret Garden's 'Rough Diamond,' this is a vital look back at a hugely influential label.

8Kays & Juan Hansen - "Falling Down" (Chris Avantgarde remix) (6:52)
8Kays - "Lyra" (5:23)
Review: Watergate, the cult Berlin club known for its riverside location and legendary LED ceiling above the dancefloor, is also a reputable tech house label that deals in fresh names only. Here it is 8Kays that makes a debut with Falling Down, a selection of superb collaborations including 'Matematica' with Glowal which is tense and electric tech with indie vocals and with Juan Hansen he cooks up the medically hopeful 'Falling Down' which then gets two remixes. Colyn & Beswerda make it into a moody and deep groove, Chris Avantgarde brings some peak time prog energy and solo cut 'Lyra' has a warm, paddy broken beat to cruise on through the stars.
