Review: Those who were inspired by the rise of nu-disco throughout the 2000s should already own a fair few AN-2 records or remixes. The Theomatic label founder was prolific throughout the last decade, but all but vanished from view around 2011. This is his first EP for six years, and sees him join forces with old pal Samos, whose last release landed almost a decade ago. Opener "Nomad" is probably the EP's standout track, featuring as it does a brilliant blend of chugging Italo-disco bottom end, psychedelic acid lines, dreamy chords and mind-altering Greek style instrumentation. That said, we're also big fans of rubbery, P-funk influenced electro excursion "Gran Turismo", while slow motion closer "Cold Front" is a prize chunk of trippy, dubbed-out Balearic disco.
