Elevation (Louie Vega dub) (6:20)

Elevation (Louie Vega dub - instrumental) (6:11)
Elevation (Tommy Musto Zero Hour dub mix) (6:01)
Review: By now, most dedicated househeads should known 2Fox and Laville's debut single, 'Elevation' - an effortlessly soulful chunk of lightly gospel-influenced deep house brilliance that has been bubbling away since the summer of 2024. The regular, full vocal versions were recently released on wax and now we get the alternative dubs. Masters at Work man and all-round NYC legend Louie Vega steps up first with a swirling, deep, hypnotic and extra-percussive take that makes good use of selected lead and backing vocal snippets, before label bosses Soul Clap slap down a deep, groovy, tech-tinged dub straight from the top drawer. Over on the reverse, we get a vocal-free 'Dub-strumental' of Vega's EP-leading take, as well as a more vocal heavy, gospel house style 'Zero Hour' dub by New York veteran Tommy Musto.

Review: Montevideo mainstay Alejo steps up for his debut on System Error's Flow series with the '1984' EP , a sharp, floor-feeling statement from an artist who both stands out in and defines the Uruguayan figure-ground. As co-founder and resident of the long-running Emile Club, Alejo's instincts run deep, and here they come sluiced though a new channel: four tracks, from '4to En Discordia' to 'Rkr1', offering snarling low-end pressure opening out to estuaries of wiry electro wades. Raw, punchy and tightly engineered, it's music that speaks with the verve of someone who's lived the scene from inside and out the booth.

Talk' Em Down (5:34)
Crushin' (6:17)
Instant (6:31)
Review: Following the success of his 'City Smile' EP, Aleqs Notal is back with more ear-piquing goodness in the form of this latest boundary-pushing vision. The EP is said to be unified by a central theme of self-acceptance and covers plenty of ground, from the deep and meditative essence of Chicago-inspired 'Pain Of Truth' to the more loose 'Talk' Em Down' with its snaking bass and eerie chords. 'Crushin'' sits somewhere between the two, with analogue textures and a firmly rooted groove forming the foundation for percussive and synth layering. 'Instant' has brilliantly pinging 909s and humid chords. This is Aleqs Notal at his most expressive.

No 1 (5:34)
Doobie (4:55)
Review: Whenever DJ Dez Andres drops new heat, you have to tune in. The man is a beat-making machine, extraordinary DJ and avid record collector who distils all that house and hip-hop knowledge into his always stylish cuts. 'No 1' opens up this latest jam on GT Flips and has a boogie-fried lead synth line, deep drums and chopped vocals that amp up the party but also have plenty of heart to them. 'Doobie' is the flipside offering and it finds Andres sampling another 80s soul classic and reworking it over some of his textbook and textured drums that perfectly straddle the house and hip-hop divide.

Take Your Time (6:33)
Saturday (5:14)
The Candle (2:32)
Review: GT Flips is proving to be a superb home for the music of Detroit mainstay and former Slum Village man DJ Dez aka Andres. He is turning out plenty of it, all of it quality, and all of it steeped in his signature blend of deep house, hip hop and the Cuban rhythms of his personal family heritage. Opener 'Take Your Time' is blissed out beat perfection with mid-tempo drums and heady pads next to gorgeous vocal hooks. 'Saturday' brings the party with a classic vocal sample made famous after being used in a Levis ad, and 'The Candle' closes with jazzy horns and flutes over more dusty drum breaks.

Head Over Heels (4:43)
Spoof (7:49)
Review: Motor City legend Andres is back with another superb run of 12"s on the GT Flips label. The latest edition is another smoking hot three-tracker that opens up with 'She Spoke To Me', a laid-back blend of live drums and dusty snares with neat little sax motifs and a soothing vocal coo. 'Head Over Heels' finds Andres looking to a classic 80s sound for the main vocal hook and reworks it over what sounds like live MPC beats. 'Spoof' is the third and final gem here, this time with some erotic vocal pleasures and sensuous pads.

Attraction (5:18)
Nasty Tool (5:27)
Raubtier (5:32)
Up & Down (5:38)
Review: Berlin-based producer Arkan lands on SK_Eleven with four immersive techno cuts that draw tension from subtlety. 'Attraction' opens with icy, glistening percussion and a subdued, shifting groove that balances dissonance and flow with careful restraint. 'Nasty Tool' is more skeletal still-built on pulsing low-end and whispered gestures that feel almost internal, less club banger than whispered command. On the flip, 'Raubtier' brings some pressure with rolling drums and warped bell patterns, its odd claps puncturing the trance with mechanical precision. 'Up & Down' closes the set on a more introspective note, its rubbery tension and detuned chords conjuring the hazy recursion of memory. This is techno that moves less with velocity than gravity.

Review: Formed in 1992 in Cheltenham by vocalist Mark Diston and DJ Curtis Lewis, Bass Cadets were always ahead of their time. Their sound was a collage of electronic, breakbeat and experimental sounds with a fierce DIY attitude, and this long-lost 4-track EP captures that raw, genre-defying spirit in full force. Now, finally pressed to vinyl for the first time via Relic, it takes in the sleek urgency of 'Feeline', ambient pads of 'Dealay' and kinetic trance techno tribalism of 'Nuclear Starfish'. With tracks that still sound fresh nearly three decades later, this is a perfect time capsule of early 90s innovation

Review: Amsterdam's Beraber draws from Chicago's classic keys and machine rhythms on this return to action on United Identities, which was produced entirely in his Amsterdam studio. Across the six cuts, he weaves atmospheric textures into a personal collection that also features his first use of vocals alongside Barcelona's Ivy Barkakati, whose lyrics echo the journey's introspection. Highlights include the serene opener 'Between Us,' the dubbed-out 'Distant Language,' and the soulful 'Lost in Loops'. The package closes with an upbeat 'Good Company' and a deep remix by Brazilian artist Zopelar.

Unfair (4:46)
Calx (5:02)
Snakeholes (5:03)
Review: French-Moroccan producer Bidoben joins the Sublunar roster with six tracks of precision-tooled techno that strike a balance between hypnosis and intensity. 'Suspended Relief' opens with pounding low-end and swirling mids, laying down a floor-focused blueprint that's all control and momentum. '28-33' dials in a looping, restrained groove with subtle modulations, while 'Torment' pushes into more psychedelic terrain-acid-licked textures layered over a linear, uncoiling arrangement. On the flip, 'Unfair' hits hardest: peak-time pressure with no excess. 'Calx' trades impact for introspection, coiling inward with murky synthwork and tight, recursive rhythm. 'Snakeholes' brings it to a close with melodic shimmer and just a trace of nostalgia. It's a smart, tightly constructed EP that showcases Bidoben's ear for function, detail and emotional tone.

I Know Its Demons (Alpha Tracks remix) (6:09)
Review: On Emptyverse, Italian DJ and producer Biemsix dives deep into the void and explores emptiness not as absence, but as pure creative potential. He has done similar across many great EPs on the likes of Symbolism, Eureka Milano and Execute and across this introspective release, meaning dissolves to give way to raw emotional space where transformation begins. 'Yesterday' balances the fragile tension between nothingness and emergence with hopefully pads and thudding kicks, 'Crisis (The Drill)' has spent up funk that moves you in a hurry and 'Old Patterns & Belief' is a deep space cruise that races to the next dimensions on supple minimalism. 'I Know Its Demons' (Alpha Tracks remix) shuts down as a meditative odyssey.

High Voltage (9:33)
Venusian Storm (9:00)
Waves Of Derbyshire (9:13)
Review: Belgian innovator CJ Bolland returns with three razor-sharp cuts that land somewhere between classic acid, metallic electro and streamlined techno. 'High Voltage' does exactly what it says on the tin: a squelching, high-intensity opener that builds tension through blistering filters and raw drum programming. On the flip, 'Venusian Storm' dials into that eerie, dystopian sci-fi mood Bolland's long masteredithink stormy pads, electro bleeps and tightly coiled 808s. 'Waves Of Derbyshire' feels like the comedown transmission, all sweeping chords and subtly shifting groove layers that still throb with club intent. For anyone who rinsed 'Camargue' or 'The Prophet', this is a reminder of Bolland's timeless touchiupdated but unmistakably his. Peak-time tackle with brains.

George's Groove (6:04)
Review: Bullet Tooth taps into the energy of old school pirate radio days with not only the title of his new 'Private Caller' EP but also the sounds inside it. The title cut is a pure bad man gem with bad man vocals and bad man low-end oscillations next to crispy 2-step drums. 'Wanted' then ducks and dives with dark moody bass and wobbly synths, menacing percussion and pitched-up vocals. But the best of the lot is saved until last when 'George's Groove' is a deceptively simple but effective garage pumper with speedy drums, playful sax lines and a naughty undercurrent.

Review: Glasgow's Domenic Cappello solicits universal applause with 'Galactic Praise', drawing deep from Detroit techno's heritage and a synthy Berlin schooled erudition. A longtime resident and booker at Sub Club alongside Harri, Cappello has refined a style balancing punchy rhythms, emotive melodies and rich atmospheres shaped by years in one of techno's most respected venues. 'Dat Thing' and 'Niamh's Song' contrast through whistling highs and spick electro-acid lows respectively; the title track, meanwhile, recalls space-decolonial maximalism of later Apollo releases, as if to portray the infinitude of a terraformed, cosmo-dromal house party.

Review: Oblique Records offers a four-track vinyl-only selection of stripped, club-ready house cuts shaped by UKG inflections and percussive detail. Velvet Velour's 'Make It Hot' leads with a swung rhythm, vocal stabs, and a warm bassline that keeps the energy tight without crowding the mix. Eli Atala's 'Fat Albert' runs deeper, with clipped low-end and a sharper rhythmic frame. The Velvet Velour remix of the same track adds glide and bounce, pushing the groove forward while softening some of the original's edges. On the B-side, MTTY's 'Wally' closes the set with swung drums and sparse atmospherics - minimal in structure but tuned for pace. Each track is functional without sounding generic, keeping arrangement changes minimal and geared for blend. A direct, neatly cut pack of tools with just enough variation to stretch across a warm-up or mid-set.

Thursday (4:50)
Review: One of the most talented electro artists is back with his latest release. With over 30+ releases to his name, the quality matches the quantity as this new and unique 12"+7" package shows. The Dublin producer's beats hit strong right away with 'Touch', with a cinematic melody reminding us why this artist always sounds so futuristic. 'Drift' is a sci-fi masterpiece that shows how good he is at adding acid into his electro and the title track hints at the roots of the style with the vocoder addiction. The little 7" packs big sounds with 'Sunny Rain Acid' which is sure to remind fans of AFX's Analord series. 'Thursday' is more on the laid back approach as it closes out with one of our favorite electro tracks in recent memory. Cignol is a next level electro producer. Right up there with E.R.P., Morphology, Gerald Donald and the best doing it today.

Review: Sheffield artist Commodo - long a mainstay of Deep Medi and Black Acre - hooks up with Turkish dubstep producer Gantz again here to explore heavy low-end percolations on Ilian Tape's revered ITX Series. 'Left Hand Path' has earth-shattering kicks and scraping hits that are coated in lo-fi and grain pads for ultimate subterranean menace. '89! 'Shake And Lurk' closes out with some brighter melodic intrigue to bring a ray of optimism to the glory but brilliant bass.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Drop Music marks a marvellous quarter of a century of releases with this new slab of vinyl featuring some gems from disco funksters Crazy P and the house mainstays Inland Knights. Crazy P go first with 'Disc Odyssey' which is perfectly indicative of their much beloved sound with its low slung kicks and funky bassline. Inland Knights then offer a trio of in demand & unreleased tracks. 'Overnight' is a bumming deep house joint, 'Walk On' has an icy late night vibe and balmy pads and 'Do It Again is a more playful closer, with some killer b-line action. All four, needless to say, are timeless gems, and the fact the last two are appearing on vinyl first the first time makes it an even more desirable cop.

Review: Karol Mozgawa is the Polish talent known as Deas, and one of the most expressive voices in techno. For the first one, he hooks up with the legendary Chicagoan DJ Rush on 'Geeks On Hubbard'. It's a thrilling affair with toms fluttering over the loopy kicks, menacing spoken words and fizzy, dusty synth lines. 'Cabrio' brings more frosted textures and icy cold techno raucousness, and 'Track Zero' keeps barreling on with more immovable kicks and panel-beaten loops. 'Resistance' is the most minimal of the lot - an eerie brew with precision kicks and sheet metal snares blowing in a stiff breeze.

Review: A fresh re-edit series with a nostalgic, old-school house vibe, reportedly by a veteran producer with plenty of experience. A-side 'Take Me' sets the tone, with sparkling pianos, rave-inspired stabs and much-used vocal samples from a disco classic riding rolling house beats and a vintage, organ bassline. Over on side B, 'Never' is a fine, largely stripped-back style revision of a sequenced bassline propelled early house classic topped off with a superb female lead vocal, while 'Games' is a lightly dubbed-out tweak of a proto-house era gem that boasts a superbly squelchy bassline, echoing synth-pop lead vocals, effects-laden drum fills and warping electronic noises. In other words, all three cuts are guaranteed party-starters of the 'classy and well crafted' variety.

Review: Rotterdam electro icon DJ Overdose returns for the fourth release on All Nice Records with lashings of the raw, deep and unpredictable energy he's known for. This is unabashed underground tackle for lovers of gritty, analogue-driven electro machine funk. 'Player & A Freak' rises up from murky, shadow-laced electro depths with glistening leads rising out into the cosmos and 'Dead On Your Feet' has snappy, metallic snares and fizzing pads that bring a dystopian edge over the funkier beats. 'All Out' then gets harder and faster for peak time deployment and then comes a surprise twist on the B2, where Eastern influences creep into 'Letters At War' for a totally unique vibe. Overdose keeps you guessing and grooving in a typically uncompromising and full character fashion.

Review: Medicine Music offer us a remedy, but not a cure, for a chronic ailment of ours: for some reason we simply cannot shake the compulsion to seek out disco edits in quadruply combined pill form. The second volume in Dr. Packer's own reworks series, this new'un follows the first edition released far back in 2017. 'Hint Of Love' and 'Watch Your Back' span nouveau riche falsettos and dirt-caked soul baritones respectively, proving the polyphonic potential of disco's voices despite the unknowability of the samples so sourced. 'Chesty Lady Of The West' is meanwhile the perkiest tune on the record, curling through a minimal, backwashy sound, where guitars soar gleefully in a surfy space above the 10th fret.

This Argentinian producer follows in the footsteps of Candido (who was behind Megabreakz 7) to deliver his own raw and unapologetic take on the hard new beat style. This perfect pairing opens up with the deeply alluring 'Time' with its woozy pads and smeared chords over warm and rubbery drums. It's a hypnagogic affair then 'Vacuum Tube' has a more menacing air thanks to the wispy and unsettling synth details and clunky hooks. Review: Facta's latest for Wisdom Teeth opens with 'Jets', a low-slung, sub-sloshed throb that's quietly become a DJ favourite-Ben UFO has spun it as an opener multiple times and you can hear why. It's bouncy, tactile and disorienting in just the right measure, setting the tone for a seven-track suite that finds the Londoner weaving through dubby techno, cheeky minimal and post-step psychedelia with that recognisably prismatic touch. 'On Deck' pivots into springy broken house, full of teasing builds and frayed edges, while 'Bunt' pairs heavy-limbed bass pressure with pointillist vocal chops. There's a skittishness to the palette that recalls his most textural club material, but these tracks feel leaner, more distilled-sonic matter reshaped mid-air. Even in the most playful moments, like the bleepy funk of 'Swish', there's an undercurrent of tonal oddness that keeps things slippery. 'Fang' and 'Snooze Alarm' slow the pulse, tracing soft arcs across rhythm and dissonance. As ever with Facta, genre markers are melted down into a coherent sonic vocabulary, full of negative space, strange hooks and glistening decay.

Review: New music from LA resident Fields of Mist is always worth hearing. He's previously proven to be a master of bringing a hip-hop sensibility to his work, as well as a jazzy and broken beat bone on his 2022 album Iluminated60. This latest turn to Illian Tape is another standout with a mix of dreamy, suspenseful pads and killer rhythms. 'Dreams Of The Lost Moon' isa fine example of that with its far-sighted gaze but body popping drums and 'Darkstar System M312' then gets more moody with a speedy low end and astral pads. 'Moss Nebula Tidal Dance' is another blend of deep space ambience with minimal but impactful rhythms.

OMB 3 (5:13)
Review: New label klaxon! Jus De Rose mergers form the ever-fertile Romanian scene with a first EP from George Gavanescu aka Floog, a minimalist who has put out some 24-odd EPs in less than a decade. His very firm grasp of dacenfloro dynamics is laid bare here with 'Not A SOS' kicking off with a soot-black post-punk energy, rugged bassline and slapping drum funk. 'Talo Bisco' twists cold wave and synth energy from 80s Eastern Europe into a slapping tech house workout and 'Intamplarea Din' is a more stripped-back thumper with a warped bassline and hurried drums that will lead to plenty of weirded-out moments. 'OMB 3' is another proto-techno experiment with cold analogue drums, 80s synths and dehumanised vocals.

Review: Originally unleashed in 1993 via Underdog Recordings, 'Fugitive' by Dave Wallace (Aquasky, Mad Dog) and Shaun O'Hara (Aurora) finally returns in its second pressing, this time on black wax. First reissued in 2019 as part of Vinyl Fanatiks' yellow vinyl Quattro series, the much-demanded jungle 12" now lands again after six years, cut from the original DATs by Simon at The Exchange. A cult Bournemouth production, 'Fugitive' gained notoriety after Bukem double-dropped it at midnight during Dreamscape NYE 1993/94, an essential, heads-know moment in UK rave history. This reissue comes com-pressed to 200 copies, and at just one per customer, it'll surely stay a sought-after snapshot of breaks-heavy euphoria from the scene's salad days.

As well as the dance version, this release also features four fresh remixes by A.P. Mono, Electro Potato, Bellatrix, and Chris van Buren. Review: The mysterious Giralda returns with a new one on their own eponymous label. It's minimal in design but with maximal character and unusual influences. 'Passion' has bright disco colours and percussive energy, then 'No Respect' taps into 90s breakbeats and big piano celebrations with reverse stabs and even raga overtones. 'Hell Or Heaven (5.1 mix - Angel remix)' is another retro future sound with fat drums and sustained chords for the head. 'Feel The Groove' is a critter closer with more pianos, disco house drums, 80s keys and an unusual vibe that is login to level up any party.

Nocapz - "Gettin' Heard" (6:28)
Review: Hot Creations gathers four peak-time weapons from across the label's recent catalogue, with an emphasis on upfront UK energy. Manchester's Goosey links with Dope Earth Alien on 'Funky Shit', a wobbly, sub-heavy club cut built around slick swung drums and warped vocal refrains. 'Proper Whopper' from Murphy's Law, Sam Curran and Harry Unsworth fires off booming low-end and pitch-bent sirens with the kind of swagger that suits high-tempo basements and outdoor stages alike. Sidney Charles offers a sleeker counterpoint on 'Disco Bumpin', layering Aleya Mae's melodic vocals over rubbery synths and crisp house drums. Rounding it out is Sao Paulo's nocapz, whose 'Gettin' Heard' throws down fast, bouncy percussion with ravey stabs and a locked-in low-end groove. All four are built to slam.

Review: Sub Basics's Temple Of Sound is back with new music from Henry Greenleaf who appears under his new moniker, Greenteeth. It is a project he is clearly using to cook up smart back room minimal sounds going off this evidence: 'Loxton' is a slow motion and prowling groove but one with deep, menacing bass and nice louche percussion. 'Jungle Love' is another subversive sound with a snaking rhythm and dubby low ends, dusty hi hats and late night mischief. Last of, 'On & On & On' plays out over all of the flipside with shuffling drums that are light and airy and topped with wispy drones. It's delightfully hypnotic.

Review: Aussie Greville returns to Mad Habitat with a haunting four-track suite rich in "acoustic psychotomimesis". His masterful use of texture and atmosphere shines throughout and opener 'I Miss Terry' pairs sharp, restless drums with a pulsing bassline, while 'Purgatory' drifts like a hypnotic dreamscape across the stereo field. On the flip, ethereal vocals ebb and flow and add spectral layers to the sound of 'Dad's Folk (mix)', which is a wonderful curiosity. Closing with 'Electric Push,' which builds on the monologue of 'Dad's Folk,' the record ventures into surreal realms by smearing the experimental edge of Ifach-era Baby Ford with the dark mystique of late Coil.

Review: 'Vibrations' by Toronto house music producer Reagan Grey taps into the pulse of the early days of the Local Talk label, back when classic house and garage ran the Great British show. Made with Christie Nelson (Soul Candi) and Sean Jones, the record spins four deep, stand-ho hums round a well burnished loom of beats, as a deep, soulful house sound rings outl though Grey has toughened the edges out to suit less satiable systems, both social and sound. 'Love Will (Vibrations Mix)' is the rawest regent of the lot, its offbeat organs and plosive drum machines spitting out like unfiltered speech. A smart, instinctive grip on what makes the UK-and-beyond deep house sound tick.

Village Whispers (11:04)
Noble Booth (11:27)
Review: You can hear the years in this one. 'Village Whispers' unfurls with the soft hiss of tape and misted chord echoes, each phrase placed with the care of someone who's spent a lifetime listening for silence to answer back. 'Noble Booth' is heavier, full of low-end weight and time-stretched decay - a memory half-recalled through fogged glass. Gubatz, who once conjured trance in rural North Germany and later acid on Cologne's fringes, returns here to dub techno not as genre but as method - patient, porous, ambient by instinct. These aren't tracks so much as settings: rooms that hold the ghost of movement, built for moments when nothing needs to happen.

Review: The late great Ron Hardy had as much influence on DJing and club culture as anyone before or since. It's not just what he played, but how he played it that set the standard from his legendary residency at the Music Box - not least the fact that he often had the highs squealing out of his system because they were the frequencies that had most impact on him while he was high on heroin. His productions all reflect his approach in the booth, and this latest collection of classics is back with rising disco, rawness, low-slung funk and high-speed, feel-good disco bliss.

Waiting For The Sun (Sunrise reprise) (3:04)
Review: Scottish veteran Hifi Sean - once, in an ancient time, frontman of indie stars The Soup Dragons - doesn't really do half-measures. 'Waiting for the Sun' is his first 12" since rinsing out the Fire Island remix in 2021, and it lands somewhere between gospel house uplift and morning-after clarity. The original version doesn't hold back - full-bodied keys, layered vocals, and a central hook that sounds like it came to him mid-dog walk, which, in fairness, it did. It could have collapsed under its own optimism, but somehow doesn't. The acapella confirms just how tightly constructed the vocal work is - stacked, reverent, and stubbornly catchy. 'Sunset Dub' dials things down without losing shape, keeping the bassline intact while pulling most of the colour. 'Sunrise Reprise' nudges things into the kind of end-of-night territory where no one's really dancing anymore but still doesn't want to leave. Not a reinvention, but a sharp, self-contained reminder that Hifi Sean knows exactly what his lane is - and how to drive directly through it at golden hour.

Kepler has been a regular contributor to this fine catalogue and returns with more of his shuffling, playful and charming garage cuts. 'Recall' manages to be both deep and driving, with cute chord stabs and a smart vocal sample that adds the r&b gloss. 'Flavour' has those old school stabs and filthy basslines and 'Loft Groove' is a bouncy, low-slung number with organic percussion. Closing out another high-grade offering is 'Don't Stop' which brings some dubby chords to a slick, punchy house rhythm. Pure class.

His Mannheim sound became the hype genre du jour and after only sporadic realms for a few years, the imprint is back and turning out plenty of new grooves on a regular basis, all from new school names. Kirik is one of them and is a much-loved Ukrainian house talent who has great range. He opens with some Detroit soul-infused speed-tech, then gets more funky with the deeper 'What We Luv.' 'Culminating' is a crisp and dubby tech house kicker with hints of garage percussion and 'Gemmy' is big on filters and loops for maximum impact for minimal elements.

From the early 70s through the 2000s, these private events in Lower Manhattan were all about community, high-fidelity sound and deep musical connection. As a heartfelt tribute to that spirit, they present 'Friendly Movement,' a composition that channels the warmth, openness and groove that made The Loft such a special place. This one's for the dancers, the dreamers and everyone who believes music is meant to bring us closer together.
