Notes: A serious trigger sequencer for generating complex, multi-layered rhythms. Eight channels of Euclidean pattern generation meet probability, modulation and CV control for real depth and power.

Constellation is all about rhythm. It is an 8 channel pattern generator that works by combining multiple dense and sparse patterns to create long, complex and musically interesting trigger and gate rhythms. Constellation takes a "parametric" approach to rhythm - there is no explicit step sequencing on the module, rather the rhythms are defined by euclidean (and more) parameters that build the rhythm mathematically.

Constellation aims to evolve the concept of euclidean rhythms far beyond the useful but repetitive patterns we often think of when we hear the term "euclidean rhythm". This is accomplished by by combining up to 8 individual euclidean patterns of different lengths and density. Each pattern may provide only a small component of the final output, but together create immensely musical and varied rhythmic material over a very long time frame - up to 999 steps! If each of those steps are 1/16 note in length at 120 bpm, that's a full 2 minutes of explicitly defined, yet non repeating rhythmic material.

In addition, Constellation's parametric approach allows any of these parameters to be modulated with CV through one of 8 freely assignable CV inputs. CV modulation introduces further ability for Constellation's rhythmic output to vary over time. Paired with a Maestro or Navigators, hours of interesting morphing rhythms are possible without the need for tons of step programming or the uncontrollable chaos of a purely generative approach.

When writing music, rhythmic interest is often built through the combination of repeating and non repeating elements that work together to anchor the overall feel but also keep the ear free from boredom over the duration of the piece. Constellation provides a unique set of tools to accomplish this goal and achieve rhythms that are intentional, unexpected and exciting to use as the foundation of your compositions.

About Junction

Junction is a compact, 4 channel attenuverter, cascading mixer and multiple designed to fine tune the control voltages in your rack to the perfect range for their destinations. Junction can be used as a source of fixed voltage, offset another voltage, or mix multiple voltages together to create complex and dynamic modulation.

Features

Each channel on Junction has a knob (1) that acts as a manual control for the attenuverter. Center position (12 o clock) is 0V. The first channel input (2) is normalized to +5V when no cable is plugged into it.

A buffered copy of the input signal of the first channel is present on all of the other inputs from from the first (2) to the last (8). This duplication is "cascading" as shown by the arrow graphics on the panel - if a cable is patched into any input, it "breaks" the cascading multiple - all unpatched inputs carry the signal present at the uppermost patched input (or +5V if no inputs are patched). For example, if a signal is patched into the second channel's input (4) the third (6) and fourth (8) channel inputs would carry a copy of the second channel's input instead of the first channel input.

Junction's channels are mixed on the outputs. The output mixer is also "cascading" - when a cable is patched into an output, it carries a mix of it's own output and all unpatched channel outputs above it. For example, if only the last channel output (9) is patched, this output will carry a mix of all of the outputs. Patching the first channel output (3) would remove it from this mix.

Even though Junction's inputs cascade and outputs mix, Junction's output will clip at the Eurorack power rail voltages of +12 and -12V. It is not possible to output a voltage outside of this range, regardless of the signals patched into Junction.

Deep Reverse Power Protection

Notes: Bartender is the centerpiece of the mixer system. Four stereo channels, with two stereo aux send and two stereo returns. Each channel can be used in a mono mode where both channels are mixed. If you want to do eight channels of mono, you can put the channels in stereo mode (I know it feels backwards) and then use the pan control to control the crossfade between each channel, and then take the mono output. There is a built in cueing system so you can monitor channels in your headphones and control the blend with the main output. You can expand a Bartender with both a Barback and/or another Bartender. When connecting two Bartenders, the main level control on the 'expander' Bartender acts as a group control.

Notes: This is a buffered/active mult with LED indicator. You get two channels of 1 to 3 multiples within a 2HP module. The output of channel 1 is normalled to channel 2 so it can also be treated as a 1 to 6 multiple as well.

Active vs Passive mults:

With a passive mult you are effectively just plugging multiple things into the same jacks. This will often cause some voltage drop in each of the signals. With an active (or buffered) mult you will not get any voltage drop from the original signal.

The Hi-X60's large, open soundstage is more akin to open-back headphones than closed-back and this is partly-achieved by the ear cup design which is spacious inside whilst having a relatively small external dimension.

The soft, memory foam ear cushions are a re-think of older designs; the acoustic wall that closes off the earcup is doubled so as little sound as possible can escape into the environment or enter the internal soundstage from outside.

Depending on the Sibilla uploaded firmware, EXP-FX can either act as an actual Sibilla expander, giving you direct control on more Sibilla's parameters, or can turn your module into a stereo pitch shifting droning effect, allowing you to process your favourite oscillator the same way Sibilla processes its internal waveforms.

Every knob but the Line Gain is CV controllable and accepts i5V while the Freeze button can be activated with external triggers.

EXP, il Sole:
Everything regarding EXP is written with golden graphics on the module faceplate.
Expand your Sibilla by adding more control on the internal AR envelope and filter resonant
frequency. With the help of this firmware, Sibilla's controls stay untouched and the following

EXP commands are added:
ATTACK: sets the duration of the envelope attack stage. This is the time it takes for
the envelope level to go from zero to the maximum level when a gate signal is
received on Sibilla's trigger input. The duration is nearly zero with the knob fully
closed, and 5 seconds when the knob is fully clockwise.
RELEASE: sets the duration of the envelope release stage. This is the time it takes
for the envelope to go from its maximum level back to 0 after the gate is released
(max length is 5 seconds).
Q: sets the peak level of Sibilla's resonant LP filter (Resonance). When fully
counterclockwise, resonant peak will be rounded and become more apparent with
higher settings, depending on the harmonics created by Rise and Fall parameters of
Sibilla.

FX, la Luna
Everything regarding FX is written with white (black panel) or black (silver panel) graphics on the module faceplate.

With configurable eurorack/line stereo inputs, this firmware turns the whole duo (FX + Sibilla) into an intricate stereo pitch shifting delay droning effect. Splits your incoming sound in two separate pitch shifted tracks whose stereophony is affected by LFOs movements, white noise, delay lines and sampled bits of audio.

When installing this firmware, Sibilla's parameters perform the same functionalities as always, but applied to the incoming input audio signals:
RISE: pitch-shifts (from low to high pitch) the incoming sound on the left channel.
FALL: pitch-shifts (from high to low pitch) the incoming sound on the right channel.

As for Sibilla, the stereophony of these pitch-shifted tracks is affected by the movement of two free running LFOs with configurable waveforms and can be altered by a resonant LPF and the addition of a white noise source.

In addition, Sibilla's sampling delay network is now open and can be directly modified by the user:
BUFFER SIZE: controls the real time sampling window length. It's nearly 100ms
when the knob is fully closed and goes up to 1s with the knob fully clockwise.
FEEDBACK: controls the amount of sampled and pitch shifted audio sent back into
the sampler.
FREEZE: manually freezes the audio buffer to the last recorded bit of audio. While
frozen, the buffer size can still be modified.
GRAINS: sets the starting position of the audio bits to be recorded into the buffer
size (this feature still needs to be activated with a double tap on Sibilla's centre
button).

A small switch on the back of the module is used to shift between Eurorack and Line input signal. When Line inputs are configured, the Line Gain knob can be used to tame the incoming audio signal.

Notes: The Garden Listener is a random control messages generator from biometric signals. It detects conductivity variations on living beings' surface and transforms them into MIDI notes, ranging from C-1 to C8, and CV signals (0 - 5V). Its behaviour can be tamed through the one-knob menu from which you can choose and modify:

probes' sensitivity (making it more or less sensitive to current variations);
scale (chromatic, major, minor, Indian and Arabic);
MIDI channel (from 1 up to 16);
LEDs' brightness.

Conductivity variations are detected by the Probes Input and converted into MIDI notes in real time according to the Main menu settings. Each MIDI note exits through the MIDI output, allowing you to take advantage of the sound of either any synthesizer equipped with a MIDI port or any VST in your DAW, and gets converted into an analogue signal.

Trigger and Gate are fired every time a new note is generated, their voltage output can be modified with the respective attenuator (0 - 5V).

All the MIDI notes are converted into variable voltages (0 - 5V) depending on their pitch and exit through the CV output (1V/oct).

The CV output behaviour can be modified via the Octave Selector which acts as a "CV equalizer" from which you can choose to generate CV only if the respective MIDI note lies within a certain octave range.

For once, leave those LFOs alone, and let any living conductive being modulate your signals.

The module comes with 3.5mm white probes and a set of snap-on adhesive reusable electrode pads. A MIDI-TRS type A adapter (not included) is required for the MIDI output.

A simple and compact 4 channel mixer with independent level controls and selectable phase for each channel. This was primarily designed to be used with the One to Four Splitter to create 4 parallel signal paths, but it can be used just about anywhere you need to mix four different sources into a single output with your unique sound!

This high headroom device features a high 1 M Ohm input impedance and a low 100 ohm output impedance ensuring all signals maintain their sonic integrity throughout their journey, even on long cable runs. The high headroom input impedance of this device allows it to accept a variety of instruments without distortion or clipping. Phase selector switches for each channel will make sure to correct any issues you might have from mixing multiple different signals with opposing polarities. Sometimes mixes can sound out-of-phase, leaving the resulting signal sounding thin or tinnier. Adjusting the Phase on the Four to One Mixer will help you avoid these issues. When used in conjunction with the Four to One Splitter or the Flexi Loops, you can create wild parallel signal paths at the flip of a switch! Use it to mix 4 instruments into one amp! Run four synths into a single channel! Put the whole band through your wall of amps! The possibilities are still nearly endless.

Phase: Use this to select the output phase of the channel. Sometimes other pedals and various instruments will invert the phase of the signal which causes major problems when mixing with other non-inverted signals. If you have a signal that is inverted, flip the phase switch to "-" and the polarity will be corrected. In most cases this switch should stay in the "+" position.

Level: Adjusts the output volume of the channel.

More Than Just Mixing:

Notes: The Tempete Magnetique is a fully analogue complex filter/synthesizer module designed as an evolution of the Fluctuation Magnetique. More than an mk2, eowaves designed it to encourage you to play with one of the most interesting things in modular synthesis: diverting the primary use of a module to create unexpected and new sounds (aka this is not just a filter).

The circuits feature high-pass, band-pass and low-pass modes with a slope of -12 dB per octave. Routing options allow serial or parallel operation. Level potentiometers at the input stages make it possible to generate asymmetrical distortion. By connecting several of the VCFs in series, users can create filter types with a slope of up to -48 dB per octave. For modulations, there are several CV inputs.
The basic character of the Tempete Magnetique is gentle and very musical. However, with high input level settings, it is also possible to achieve beefy, rather rough results. The circuits can't self-oscillate, unless the user patches a feedback loop. Parallel routing allows, in combination with a VCO, VCA and some modulators, lively, very expressive basses, leads and pads. Atmospheric stereo processing and vocal sounds are other areas of expertise.

The pairs sections, of course, can filter an incoming signal, But can be transformed to synthesis voice, percussion engine (exited by the ping input) and way more.

Proven features have remained

Like its predecessors, the TRM-222 is equipped with a 3-band master frequency isolator, which uses classic ALPS rotary potentiometers (Blue Velvet RK27) for precise sound control. The kill characteristic allows bass, midrange and treble to be completely cancelled out, giving DJs creative freedom in shaping their sound.

The switchable filter section with HPF, BPF, LPF, resonance and sweep controls allows creative processing of the frequency bands. Two stereo input channels with gain control, clip LED, 3-band EQ and phono/line switching as well as a microphone input channel with gain control, 2-band EQ and on-air switch extend the mixer's range of applications. The LED level display for the master signal (L+R) and cue signal provide a good overview.

New functions at the request of users

During the further development of the mixer, great importance was attached to feedback from the community. New functions such as the VU meter display per channel, dipswitches for individual adjustment of the EQ curve and a booth output (XLR or RCA) with 2-band EQ and volume control testify to the sophisticated functionality of the TRM-222. Punch is the ultimate VCA-DECAY module for Eurorack

Specially designed to generate dynamic percussive sounds but also capable of basslines, leads, envelopes and more. The VCA has a built in voltage controlled Decay envelope that can be turned from smooth to more aggressive exponential responses and can be activated with triggers, gates or cv's.

Elevating the groundbreaking optical compression of the original Philosopher's Tone to a new plane of tonal enlightenment, the Philosopher's Tone 2 is a world-class compressor/sustainer with footswitchable Grit, allowing for more versatility than ever before. Featuring a refined implementation of the overdrive circuit first heard in the limited-edition Gold version of this iconic compressor pedal, the unique germanium distortion found in the Philosopher's Tone 2 delivers smooth top end and rich midrange response, tailored to perfectly match the characteristics of the optical sustainer driving it. In addition to Volume and Sustain controls, the Philosopher's Tone 2 features a parallel clean Blend knob that allows musicians to mix their instrument's original tone with the compressor/sustainer effect when the Grit circuit is bypassed. This mixing technique restores natural pick-attack and allows clean settings with extreme sustain to remain dynamic and musical. When the Grit circuit is engaged, the Blend knob is automatically bypassed, circumventing the compromises of the original unit and imparting a colourful distortion to your sound in both Germanium and Silicon modes. This nonlinear diode-clipping can range from subtle overdrive to overflowing distortion, all without unwanted feedback. A Treble control located just before the master Volume provides 6db of cut or boost at 2kHz for fine-tuning the frequency response of the effect. The Philosopher's Tone 2 features true-bypass switching and internal 18V power rails for maximum clean headroom that is ideal for use with hot pickups, active bass, synthesisers and other line-level sources. Notes: The Variable Q VCF (or VCFQ, for short) from Random Source is a skiff-friendly Eurorack adaptation of what is perhaps the most famous Serge filter. It is an effortlessly thick and colorful 12dB/oct multimode filter with ultra-smooth resonance that never ceases to amaze. Amazing tonal variety comes from combining outputs, automating resonance settings via CV, and adding grit using its adjustable-gain input.

Simple filtration is only one of the VCFQ's many uses, however. Its amazing trigger input turns rising-edge pulses into thick analog kicks and toms which roughly track notes thanks to a dedicated 1V/oct input. This module also becomes an ultra-powerful modulator in "Lo" mode, with decaying/syncable LFOs well within grasp using the trigger input, along with free-running oscillation when self-patched. When fed stepped sequences, sample and hold, or other LFOs, the VCFQ can even function as an effective slew limiter. And that's not all: for those lucky enough to own two VCFQs, dual-peak resonance and an ultra-thick 24dB/oct low-pass mode offer some of the most rewarding synth sounds in existence. In short, adding a VCFQ to one's Eurorack system is always worthwhile.
