Oscillator 2 , Noise:
This oscillator is focused on square waves; additionally to a pulse width controlled and CV-controllable square wave, it offers also a "synced square wave" (sounds really nasty!) and synced to oscillator 1. A separate suboscillator out is here available too. Additionally, a separate noise output is included, whose sound depends of the frequency setting of oscilaltor 2. The octave range switches are the same like in 2OSC/d. On top of the usual 1V/octave pitch control, the module can be controlled also via IMDI, the internal, patchable MIDI! Oscillators 1 and 2 are separate via different MIDI channels.

FMOS R2 is basically a 2-operator FM synthesis sound generator, with the classic parameters MULTIPLIER for the modulating operator and MOD DEPTH for controlling the amount of FMing of the carrier operator.
Beyond this basic functionality, FMOS R2 offers following extra features:
- Additionally to the basic sinewave operator waveform, FMOS R2 has five additional waveform combinations for the carrier/modulator waveform, resulting in a more rich overtone spectrum
- The FEEDBACK control adds feedback the carrier/modulator chain, adding more variety to the sound spectrum
- The modulator can optionally be set to fixed frequency, especially useful for synthesizing metallic, inharmonic sounds
- A sub-oscillator output provides a square wave one octave lower
- The MIX output provides a mix between the FM sound and the sub-oscillator.
- Pitch is either controlled by a 1V/octave CV or IMDI, the "modular MIDI" introduced by tangible waves
- Modulation depth can be modulated by CV
- All parameters can also be controlled via IMDI, with a number of MIDI controllers.

The VCO R2 supersedes the VCO module which was part of the AE modular Kickstarter campaign in 2017; with the overall development of AE modular, the old one doesn't really meet the current quality level of AE any more. So we are happy to offer this completely redesigned module, that offers a really good volt/octave tracking over 5-6 octaves (using both CV inputs) and an amazing temperature stability.

Compared to "classic" analog sequencers it works a bit different: Instead of setting the CV for each step independently (which means in fact "tuning" each step which can be a bit tedious), the SEQ8 has 4 knobs for presetting different CV's (= notes); each of the 8 step knobs selects one of these CVs, plus 0V (=base note) plus Pause (no trigger output). So some CVs have to be fine-tuned once; with the step knobs you can focus entirely on the sequence itself and you can even modify it on the fly, still remaining in tune.
The IMDI input allows timing and start/stop control via IMDI, e.g. from teh IMDI HEART module or from the MASTER R6 and newer. The module can be configured to different time signatures, scaling the notes (minor, major, pentatonic, chromatic) and adding an octave offset. The IMDI out provides the notes as IMDI, parallel to the CV/GATE output.
Additionally to the selected CV presets, the "raw" value of the step knobs is also accessible at an extra output.

Five waveforms are available: sawtooth, inverted sawtooth, triangle, sine and square wave. The LFO can be used as a modulation source for any number of modules - for instance modulating the pulse width or frequency of a VCO, modulation of the cut-off frequency of a VCF, or amplitude modulation with a VCA.
A three-way switch lets you select three frequency ranges, spanning from one cycle every several minutes at the lowest, to moderate audio frequency at the highest (about 4-5 kHz).

After being discharged from the army in 1946, Ray and Marv Lubow formed Tel-Ray Electronics, specializing in Television and Radio repair. As the company grew, Ray also began dabbling in audio inventions specifically, delay. Les Paul had already pioneered an effect called tape echo, but folks were trying to figure out how to make a smaller, more practical version of this oversized effect. Inspired to do just that, on June 30, 1959, Ray submitted the patent for an electro-static delay apparatus known today as the oil can delay.
These delay units contained oil in a tuna-can shaped drum that was moved by a belt mechanism that turned the drum while a special disk apparatus on which the audio signal charge was written and read through rubber wiper heads. The playback speed was directly related to the drum's rotation speed. The oil acted as a protective layer to keep the audio signal "charge" electrons in place, creating a truly unique echo effect with elements of vibrato and slapback delay. Ray Lubow began licensing the oil can delay technology to amplifier companies, including Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker. In the late 1960s, Ray and Marv decided they wanted to start selling their devices under their own brand name and launched the now legendary effects company, Morley. Ray chose the name as a none-to-subtle jab at their competitor Leslie: Why settle for less with a Leslie when you can get more with Morley? Morley manufactured oil can delays up until 1989.
At Wilco's Solid Sound Festival in 2022, JHS founder Josh Scott found himself in a discussion with legendary guitarist Nels Cline. Nels brought up the subject of weird delays, leading to an in-depth discussion of the strangest pedals they'd ever played. Josh received a message from Nels a few days later asking if JHS made an oil can style delay and began explaining the particular sound he wanted from this type of echo. Though JHS didn't have one in the official lineup, Josh and team developed a one-off oil can delay pedal. When they presented it to Nels as a gift, he liked it so much that he used it through the recording and touring process for Wilco's Cruel Country and now their latest release, Cousin.
Though the JHS Oil Can Delay isn't a signature artist pedal, we're still grateful to Nels Cline for inspiring it. We're proud to offer you this unique pedal for your own collection.

The JHS Pedals 3 Series Fuzz is a versatile fuzz box that cleans up well with your guitar's volume knob. The Fuzz is the perfect balance of vintage and modern with soaring sustain and clear articulation. The JHS Pedals 3 Series Overdrive offers a wide range of overdrive sounds within straightforward design aesthetics. You can achieve anything from boost, transparent low gain, to huge amp-like medium overdrive sounds. The simple knob functions give you control over the Volume, Body (or EQ), and Drive. In 1960, Leo Fender introduced a circuit in his Bandmaster and Vibrasonic amps called the Harmonic Tremolo. Essentially, the amp's signal was split into high frequency and low frequency components, with the output switching back and forth between the two, resulting in a dreamy effect similar to the Uni-Vibe. The 3 Series Harmonic Trem allows you to utilize Leo Fender's revolutionary effect in a package much easier to tote than a vintage amplifier. Tape delay was invented in the late 40s when Les Paul strung two Ampex Model 200A reel-to-reel tape recorders together. A little later, in 1953, Ray Butts invented the Echosonic, the first actual tape delay unit. This would be followed up by the Echoplex EP-1 in 1961 from Mike Battle and the Space Echo from Roland in 1974. The JHS Pedals 3 Series Tape Delay is a simplified and faithful throwback to these classic units. The Mix control lets you control how much clean signal is blended in with the wet (delayed) signal (on the original unit, this was called Echo Volume). Tape Speed acts as a simulation of the RE-201's tape motor speeding up and slowing down and determines how short or long the delay effect is. The Repeats control goes from a single repeat to many, reminiscent of a sound being written onto the tape loop with loss of fidelity each time. Finally, when the Flutter toggle is turned on (up position), it replicates the wear & tear to the mechanical parts of a tape machine that happens over time. This causes mild modulation, warble, and flutter sounds in the echo path of the delay that so many players desire.

In the early 1980s, Brian Eno invented an effect called "Shimmer," which was popularized in U2's The Unforgettable Fire (1984). The effect mixed ambient reverb and octave effects in the reverb's decay. The 3 Series Octave Reverb is our take on this classic effect that has been used for decades to allow the guitar to create pads and textures that fill out ambient space. Toggle up layers in upper octave sounds, while toggle down layers in lower octave sounds.
