Pauk - "Shiawasena Fukushu" (4:24)
Perdi Rominger - "Empty Spot" (8:20)
Promising/Youngster - "Arbey" (5:32)
Review: There's lots to get your teeth stuck into on this new and blistering collection of electro from Adepta Editions. And don't let the title fool you - it's not all accessible summer festival fare, in fact none of it is. It is all head down and serious tackle. 7053M4R14's '4 N3W HUM4N' is a driving, dark, visceral sound with raw breakbeats powering through the cosmos. Rec_Overflow offers a moment to catch your breath with some slower, dubby rhythms on 'Pocket Dial' and Pauk explores twitchy future synths capes and post-human transmissions on 'Shiawasena Fukushu'. Promising/Youngster shuts down with a sense of optimism and hope with the airy melodies and slithering electro drum patterns of 'Arbey.'

Sarufaromeo & Papaverhof - "Acid Nihonshu" (5:18)
G303 - "Live Long & Prosper" (5:07)
Paul Renard - "SO36" (5:23)
Review: Acid Sessions Vol. 3 is another white-knuckle journey into the world of acid with five top talents in the field all pushing their own limits. Acidulant opens with "Serpentacid' featuring hypnotic 303 grooves and relentless energy, then Sarufaromeo & Papaverhof deliver 'Acid Nihonshu' which blends atmospheric depth with chaotic acid vibes. G303 takes you beyond with 'Live Long and Prosper,' an interstellar anthem filled with cosmic acid and resonant grooves. Paul Renard closes with 'SO36' which is all about the fat rhythms and powerful dancefloor drive. Long live acid is what we say.

Review: Bill Converse and Patricia land on Acid Test with more of their dynamic beat machine workouts in the form of this '380/750' EP which merges their distinct styles into an introspective, dancefloor-driven four-track workout. Recorded live at Ravitz's Brooklyn studio in just two days, the EP features raw, unedited performances that show off the duo's intuitive rhythm-making skills while drawing on Converse's 90s Michigan rave roots and Ravitz's Chicago upbringing. The immersive, bubbly, rubbery sounds are perfect blends of body music and heady synth work and cannot fail to take you deep.

Alex Jann - "Android Memory" (5:31)

Kim Cosmik - "Moonrise" (6:58)
Review: Ralph Lawson's Leeds based 20/20 Vision label has made a distinctive shift into electro territory over the last couple years. It is a sound the boss has said has long been in his heart despite him being best known as a house head and longtime resident at Back to Basics, and the quality of the tunes he unearths to put out more than backs that up. The Exaltics & Paris The Black Fu kick off with a shiny, bright, visceral metallic electro workout then three further cuts take in dark wave drum machine rhythms and acid-laced bangers.

Twowi - "Metaverse" (4:52)
Parchi Pubblici & Lucretio - "Aladdin Sane" (6:21)
Rinaldo Makaj - "Ethereal" (5:30)
Review: Yay Recordings closes out another solid 12 months with a various artists' EP that showcases right where the label is at. Heavy Mental kicks off with 'Dabro', a colourful and loopy house jaunt for sunny days. Twowi's 'Metaverse' takes off to the cosmos on lithe electro rhythms with ice-cold beats and widescreen pads. Parchi Pubblici & Lucretio's 'Aladdin Sane' brings some wonky deep tech vibes with of-balance drums and muffled spoken words and Rinaldo Makaj closes down with a fresh party sound perfect for cosy floors. There's plenty of variety here, which makes this a great addition to your bag.

Review: EC Underground is back with more inquisitors of low-end heavy sounds on Bass Scene Investigation vol 1 and again digs deep into the worlds of electro, techno, breakbeat and IDM. The compilation kicks off with the skittish percussive patterns of Illektrolab's 'Making Heads Dip', then heads into moody ground with ADJ, Pablo Funk brings some menacing synth work and Errorbeauty gets all weird and trippy with some mad electronics. Francois Dillinger offers a dystopian electro sound full of irresistibly jacked-up drums. A fine investigation indeed.

Review: The Berlin-based 432HERTZ crew kicks on here with a new various artists 12" packed with electro heat. Rinaldo Makaj gets things underway with the serene grooves of 'Computational Universe', which has some of the nicest snares we've heard in some time. Rickie's 'Mesosphere' is a nice off balance sound with thumping kicks and melodic bass, then it's time to get sleazy and more than a little ghetto with the raw Electric City jam 'Escape From Reality.' Pumio Space brings a little colour and playfulness to closer 'Mario's Juice'.

Review: Pauli brings some class to this tense and effective new EP on Shoyu, a young new label that has already made some great moves with its first two releases. 'FirstH' pairs a driving ow end with some nice sparring synth work and killer bass. 'Bodyrise' is another perfectly reduced sound with effective drums, sleek cosmic synths and a rasping bassline to counterpoint the smooth pads. Add in two more blends of physical drums and emotive synth pens and you have some smart and classy cuts for knowing dancefloors.

Thromboembambino (3:31)
Cychochloride (Legowelt Cyberwave Electro remix) (4:47)
Thromboembambino (Legowelt Lost In A Valley remix) (5:51)
Review: Under the PDQB alias, Sascha Dornhofer has deliberately crafted an enigmatic persona - a move that has allowed him to explore different underground electronic styles while building an audience of curious followers. On his latest EP, he continues this trend, first serving up an analogue-rich, mind-mangling slab of '80s horror soundtrack-infused 'Giallo' disco rich in loose-sounding machine drums, throbbing sequenced bass and spiralling melodies ('Cychochloride'), before opting for a weirder, darker and more angular proto-techno sound on the even more inspired 'Thromboembambino'. Legowelt handles remix duties in his usual confident and eccentric manner. 'Cychochloride' is re-imagined as a cheery and decidedly intergalactic electro workout, while 'Thromboembambinio' becomes a raw, acid-speckled shuffle through sprightly synth sounds and urgent post-electro beats.

Riddim & Bassline (DMX Krew remix) (5:59)
Review: Germany's RFR Records welcomes some high-grade Vienna impact from Peletronic here with his tough blend of electro and abstract house hitting the spot across three new cuts. 'Riddim & Bassline' opens up with fizzing synths a percolating percussion over snappy kicks and hits that never sit still, and nor will you. 'Sry I'm Dazed AF' has a cyborg funk feel with rugged bass and crispy broken beat drum programming. 'True Brew' is a coarse bit of house music for dances in derelict factories - the far-sighted synths bring some lovely Detroit soul. DMX Krew remixes with his usual golden touch to close.

Review: Love Love presents a collaborative release by two of the freshest contemporary Avon producers here in Best Pest and Kursa. Kursa, also known as one half of S.Murk, has picked up a significant following in both the UK and the USA with a unique mix of tight, maximalist bass music. Meanwhile, Pest is a familiar name on this label after two previous solo releases which showcased his crunchy techno, electro, and hardware-heavy sounds. Together, they deliver a five-tracker EP that transcends genres as it blends elements of dubstep, grime, hardcore, and garage with intricate sound design. Audacious, to be sure.

Review: Cultivated Electronics Ltd's For The Floor series is back with another split EP on 12" and it's packed with floor-facing cuts that showcase a mix of regular label artists next to fresh talents. Volume 4 presents two tracks each from Bristol-based Ben Pest and Maelstrom. Pest is known for his jacking live hardware techno and electro and delivers bass-heavy, distorted vocal beats with 'Who Would Have Thought I'd Be' and '26 Hybrid,' while Maelstrom, who is co-founder of RAAR, contributes his signature dark and rave-inspired sound on the cyborg funk of 'Permanency' and dystopian energy of 'Ascii Twins'.

There's More Of Then Than There Is Of Us (5:30)
Review: UK-based Jules von Daniken is Phase O'Matic and he takes charge of the third outing from Reheat with his typically assured hand. 'Access Denies (K9 mix)' is warped cyborg tech with gremlins in machines, gurgling acid and flat, firm drums making for a marching beat. 'Plastic Memory' has a more electro-feel to it with some snappy kick and hits retro 80s synth nostalgia. 'Recollect' is a sci-fi techno stomper with reverb-heavy bass and 'There's More Of Them Than There Is Of Us' closes with another intergalactic techno sound that comes from a distant planet with rueful pads and chugging low ends.

Prepaternal (Paternal Revision) (7:21)
Secrets Of The Pedal Bone (7:19)
Ooze (7:58)
Figuring Out This Damn Jetpack (5:27)
Review: Tristan Watkins is exploring a horse-themed concept in earnest with his work as Phonopsia on his burgeoning Horse Category label. There's an inherent wonkiness to the sound on this third entry which possibly hints to the meaning behind this aesthetic, with 'Prepaternal (Paternal Revision)' leading in with some delightfully off-kilter synth action around a light and skipping house groove. 'Secrets Of The Pedal Bone' meanwhile deals in a quirky sound somewhere in the region of chiptune but with a little Ceephaxian bite, and 'Ooze' deals in some potent, dislocated techno. 'Figuring Out This Damn Jetpack' goes more explicitly towards 8-bit synth lines, but then gives them a walloping beat, making for some of the most distinctive club gear we've heard in a while.

Silver Clouds (Hot version)
Review: The amazing "Silver Clouds" is finally released! After the 300 copies promo pressing in 2005 it now comes with a bonus remix by Dexter. Photocall is the LA based team of Eli Epstein and Terryn Westbrook. The original version is an ice cold electro track with Prince style beats and a funking minimal bassline that really makes you move your ass. The track really kicks of with an additional synth line, the vocals of Terryn and a bleepy melody. As usual Dexter did a great job by minimalising the track and turning the original into a electro-funk kind of thing with crazy edits that works perfect on the floor. A must-have.

The Forgotten Storm (6:15)
Review: Four more lively, lovely electro offerings from Plant 43, the second in a limited edition series of EPs focussed on tracks written over the course of the winter of 2022/23. Opener 'Submolecular Shifting' is bright and bubbly, joining the dots between Kraftwerk and Model 500, while 'Eccentric Elliptical Orbit' follows on slower and more grandiose, echoing early New Order's icy cool synth sounds. 'Encased' has a more otherworldly Aphex-like feel, although the juddering, on-off bass keeps it plugged into the dancefloor. 'The Forgotten Storm' closes proceedings, more low key again and graced with ethereal, adding angelic choirs. Energised enough and streamlined enough to be good dancefloor gear, but expertly executed and, as ever, brimming with enough personality to be a decent home listen as well.

Review: Esteemed electro explorer Emile Facey aka Plant 43 is back on his Plant43 Recordings imprint. Despite being hugely prolific, the artist always managed to find fresh new creative ground with each new outing and Concrete Echo is no different. The title cut is a high-speed opener with shimmering lines, fizzing static electricity and drama in the chords that make you take note. 'Emerald Shift' is a broken beat kicker with raw claps and scintillating liquid metal leads while 'Raw Vectors' layers up acid wobbliness and textbook electro rhythms. 'Mist Memory' closes down with a melancholic vibe and heady synths that take you into the cosmos.

Review: Chromatophore makes a head turning debut in the world of vinyl with a various artists EP that reaches all points of the electro spectrum. Plant43 will be no stranger to those in the know and opens up in urgent fashion with the synth waves and driving grooves of 'European Tides'. Kev Cotter gets a little more introspective and deep in his complex 'The Bronx Executioner' with a mood bassline underpinning the whole thing. From the deep and cerebral electro journey that is the title track, it then moves into evocative territory on the loved-up sunrise breaks of 'Polychor', then into early 90s sublime IDM on 'Polyamorie' and going out all guns blazing on the booming acid electro-bass of 'Polymorph' on the flip.

Review: Moot Tapes and Made Magnetic boss Polytunnel moves away from his own labels to make a notable debut on Edinburgh-based label Stepback Records. It's a deep dive into the world of electro that showcases his melodic style and potent mix of breaks and acid. 'Of People & Place' is a roomy and atmospheric open, a slow motion groove with plaintive chords before 'Ruchill Raw' takes off into the cosmos with wispy leads darting about over twanging metal drums. 'The Last Leap' slows the pace one more for bendy acid undulations a la Tin Man and 'Lingua Acqua' is a lovely mix of squelchy acid, chatty snares and meandering basslines.

Review: The first release on this label came - as far we can tell, anyway - all the way back in 2022. Three years on, the second is another effective club weapon, this time with an electro twist. Pop Panic's 'Your Body' has mad heavy drums and maximal synth lines perfect for nice loud plays. Aut Zebel's 'Flipped Smile' takes off on a jacked up acid groove for peak time plays and DJ GLC lays in some high speed retro-future synth euphoria on 'Trance Dance' for emotional plays. He shows huge potential and an inexhaustible amount of energy on his vinyl debut, "Somnus Ambulo", where he provides some immaculate and majestic perspectives on the electro sound. Somfay opens up proceedings with 'Arborvitae' (A Voice Like Water) which is a zoned out roller with chords that encourage you to gaze off to the future. The Golden Years compiles their influential singles and rare tracks from 1982-1988 and it's a great window into their world of sleek synths, skeletal guitars and expressive, evocative vocals. In keeping with the duo's chosen themes of "altered states and introspection" (the project was initially inspired by their love of cannabis and desire to see it legalised in their native Canada), the album sees the pair blend the growling intensity of Nine Inch Nails (and Compton's other industrial punk band, Download) and the full-throttle dancefloor assault of acid-fired techno with snapshots of picturesque melancholia, the far-sighted futurism of 1990s IDM, and the wide-eyed, tripped-out electronic psychedelia of ambient techno.

Review: Ernestas Sadau, Rapha and PRZ are the Pluto Junkies and they are now back on Pinkmanwith a new seven-track mini album that follows their 2021 debut on Minder. It's an electro excursion to the farthest reaches of our universe with swirling synths and cosmic melodies all underpinned by hefty, thumping rhythms from analogue drum machines. Some are twitchy and paranoid cuts like the unsettling 'Space Ghost', others like 'Black Eye' are full body workouts and 'Astronaut Dolphin Detective' is a deep jacker for 5 am wig outs. A muscular and robust album for serious shape shifting, then. .

Review: PRZ's debut on Sync 24's Cultivated Electronics comes in the form of a magnificent new double album, Lost Art. As a producer, DJ, and co-founder of Chateau Royal already known for a unique style that merges intricate rhythms with ethereal melodies, he builds on a sound he has been honing for a decade on prestigious labels like Clone West Coast Series and Hilltown Disco. This work is a cohesive one starting with the atmospheric 'Introvert' and then going on to feature more playful tracks like 'Lazerton' and the title cut alongside darker electro tunes like the corse 'Velocity Shift' and retro funk of 'Back From 89.'
