Review: More from regular studio partners Assembler Code and Jenson Interceptor, whose previous joint EPs for Boyznoize, Private Persons and Cultivated Electronics were little less than essential. First, turn your attention to superb opener "Random Pain", a melodious and evocative deep electro cut that morphs into something dirtier, darker and far more hard-hitting midway through. "HRL6" is altogether moodier and more Drexciyan in tone, while flipside opener "Drive Shift" fixes elastic electronics and gently pulsing motifs to an altogether more relaxed and rolling 4/4 electro groove. It comes accompanied by an altogether darker and moodier remix by The Hacker that boasts raw electronics, spacey bleeps and a slightly paranoid vibe.

Review: Assembler Code & Jensen Interceptor are one of electro's most devastating duos right now. Mechatronica welcome them for four more hard hitting jams after their "Vapour Waves" EP on this label got plenty of people talking. These are tunes with an old school feel that will blow up your bass bins and tear apart your tweeters with their mix of low end heaviness and bright melodic patterns. Superbly urgent drum programming sweeps you off your feet and races you through astral skies on "Noise Theory", "Otherwise" has a raggedy-ass broken beat and "Day 1" has a blistering bassline of the highest order.

Review: With this sequel to December's brilliant, compilation style "The Orbitant" EP, FU ME boss George K is spoiling us. With a high quality threshold and five varied cuts to enjoy, it offers excellent value for money for clued-up electro DJs. Heinrich Dressel sets the scene via some wonderfully spacey, widescreen ambient electronica ("Sem Intro"), before Galaxian wraps 1990 style Yorkshire bleeps and fizzing, minor key electronics around a booming bassline and ghetto-tech style drums on "Source Reality". Foreign Sequence's throbbing, acid-laden "Negative Vibe" sits somewhere between surging Italo-disco and pulsating electro, while Lake Haze's "System Glitch" combines creepy, deep space electronics and ragged acid lines with a rolling electro groove. Arguably best of all though is the mutant funk overload that is Jenson Interceptor's techno/electro fusion workout "Faceless".

Review: Some 18 months on from his last appearance on Central Processing Unit, Aussie electro explorer Jensen Interceptor returns to Chris Smith's lauded imprint. As you'd expect from both producer and label, the EP sparkles from start to finish. On "Glide Drexler", our hero flits between armour-plated beatbox rhythms and dreamy, near ambient breakdowns, while "Carter Green Factory" is a surging and funk-fuelled trip into vintage Drexciya territory with the addition of a thunderous, techno-style kick-drum pattern. Finally, he dons his reflective goggles and spacesuit for a trip into intergalactic electro territory via the spiraling alien funk of "Not Phased".

Review: There's no denying that Jensen Interceptor is one of electro's most "on-form" artists right now. This five-track salvo on Luke Eargoggle's Stilleben label comes hot on the heels of fine outings for Central Processing Unit and Boyznoize Records. It's naturally every bit as impressive as its' predecessors, delivering a range of bold and bombastic electro workouts aimed firmly at peak-time dancefloors. We're particularly enjoying both the heavyweight drums, end-of-days riffs and computer beeps of "Nocturnal Fabric" and the mutant, deep space electrofunk of "YSL Funk", though there's plenty to set the pulse racing elsewhere on the EP, too. Even the record's trippy, downtempo moment - Assembler Code collaboration "Viral Scan" - hits the spot.

Review: Sydney's Jensen Interceptor comes through after a productive and successful 2017, that saw him follow up his material for Boysnoize Records with a killer 12" on the infamous Central Processing Unit. The electro newbie lands with yet more previous industrialism on the E-Beamz imprint, a truly hyping label that is on a non-stop roll at the moment. "Hydro Systems" is a gnarly, headstrong bombshell that's all hands on decks thanks to its wild and fiery percussion, and "Automate" follows up on that with a dark, bleeping wormhole of sonics. The B-side kicks off with "Bubble Boy", a bubbling whirlpool of FX-heavy bass tones, and "Horner Acid" breaks out the techno guns with its twisted, interlinked layers of low frequencies.

Review: The re-emergence of electro in the last couple of years has been great to see. Sydney-based machine obsessive Jensen Interceptor has undoubtedly been one of the producers leading the charge, and certainly the most prolific. There's much to enjoy on the Australian's latest EP - his first for Between Places - including a suitably Drexciya influenced collaboration with fast-rising German producer Das Muster. That cut, "Dirrekt Lift", is reflective of the EP's more floor-friendly offerings (see also "Activated" and "Contact"), featuring as it does punchy, all-action beats, fizzing electronics and ear-catching synthesizer melodies. Also worth checking is the darker, slower, Italo-disco influenced pulse of "Inverse Light" and the Kraftwerk-meets-Aux88 flex of closing cut "Last Night".

Review: With only 200 copies floating around, you'll have to move fast to secure a copy of this Weapons Of Desire missive from prolific electro/techno fusionist Jensen Interceptor. It is, though, well worth grabbing, not least because "Smoke" is one of the Australian producer's purest dancefloor workouts for a while. The electro beats are tough and tight, the synths alien, the chords spacey and the main motif - a cross between a bassline and a lead line - is deliciously addictive and mind-altering. Over on the flipside Timothy J. Fairplay gives his interpretation, successfully dirtying up the track while adding Drexciya style levels of intergalactic funk.

Review: Aussie producer Jensen Interceptor is back. Although he definitely had a ton of releases in 2019, last year was quite tame in comparison yet there were some terrific releases on Who's Susan, Pinkman and for homeboys International Chrome. He kicks off 2021 with this wicked three tracker on Unknown To The Unknown sub label Dance Trax, and this is number 19 in the series. Features the homage to our favourite '80s punk film 'The Repo Man' on which you can actually imagine Emilio Estevez driving an alien space car into the stratosphere. Elsewhere, you can wiggle away at hyperspeed to the breakneck electro funk of 'Wireframe' or the dystopian bass attack of 'Afterflare'.

Review: Second time round for Jensen Interceptor's Afrika Bambaata and Soulsonic Force-sampling electro monster, 'The Fontainebleau', which first appeared way back in 2016. This time round, the Aussie's original mix - a warped, tooled-up take on 'Planet Rock' with added insanity and bass so warped and heavy it may give you nightmares - comes accompanied by a quartet of fresh revisions. Exzakt BFX steps up first with a moody, clandestine-sounding version that wisely employs some different electro beats, before Salome successfully pitches up and beefs up Jensen Interceptor's original mix. The final two mixes come from some genuine legends of the scene, with the Advent's 808 cowbell-and-sub-bass-heavy take being followed by a funky, squelchy and genuinely mood-enhancing revision by DJ Godfather.

Review: It would be unfair to label Mikey Melas aka Jensen Interceptor as anything less than a contemporary electro king, both in terms of the labels he's released for and his own personal brand of industrial tech. The producer is up on Australia's Power Station, run out of Melbourne, marking his debut with the opening "Route E", a classic electro bruiser that sails at a mid-tempo but bangs harder and harder with each new verse; "Delayed Response" is the perfect companion, featuring Kirin J Callinan and a supremely industrial slew of techno lashings. On the flip, "Emulator" strips the melodies down to bleeps and focusses on forming off-kilter drum breaks, while "Tunnel Chase" forms a new, strange variety of acid tech, and "Saudade" trods along to a faster tempo, recalling the likes of Cabaret Voltaire at their most beat-centric. Killah!

Review: Sydney sorts Jensen Interceptor and Assembly Code first joined forces late last year, delivering the throbbing and jacking 6th Element EP on Boyznoize Records. This second collaborative salvo is, if anything, even better. They kick things off with the redlined, industrial electro assault of "Drum Rack" - think distorted drums, mind-bending bass fuzz and ghostly noises - before tiptoeing the fine line between Drexciyan electro and more concrete-clad sounds on the essential "Pipe". They tip a wink to original EBM maestros such as Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb on the bustling brilliance of "Natural Control", while "F5" sounds like a successful attempt to fuse crispy, hardcore style breakbeats and mind-bending acid house.

Review: Australia's Jensen Interceptor and the more enigmatic Assembler Code land on Cultivated Electronics with a kick-ass new EP, full of badboy industrial vibes that will surely provide even the most satiated of ravers with some killer material! "50/50" is a chilling electro stomper of the Detroit variety, while "Battery Assault" retains a similar palette of sounds via a harder, meaner set of beats that have more in common with the EBM spectrum. On the flip, the sounds of "Hyper Reality" fill the room with a mystical, almost hazy glow that wraps around sharp-edged bass, leaving Sync 24's remix to bang out the techno beats harder...and harder. Solid material.

Review: 20/20 Vision's electro mission continues unabated with this second compilation drop in the Exit Planet Earth series. The record opens up with Jensen Interceptor working alongside Assemble Code for a darkside workout heavy on the details and rude around the low end. Carl Finlow and Keith Tucker form a mini-supergroup for a new partnership CKFT, displaying their formidable chops with the body-rocking dystopia of 'Coder'. Voigtmann keeps things closer to the 4/4 spectrum on 'Subtopia', but with plenty of machine funk tropes woven into the mix. Cignol completes the set with a widescreen sound that's steeped in emotion and sci-fi noir from a dazzling array of finely tuned synths (including some essential 303, of course).

The music is hard-hitting, sharp and rejuvenating, with bits like 'Alpha Klub' standing out in particular for their knife-edge energy cutting though negative thought states. Power on.

Review: More hot-to-trot heaviness on Unknown To The Unknown's Dance Trax offshoot, as electro/techno heavyweight Jensen Interceptor joins forces with Berlin's foul-mouthed DJ Fuck Off for a trip into high-octane electro-tek/ghetto booty territory. The main attraction is arguably opener 'Ride', a breathless slammer full of nasty synth sounds, teak-tough beats and cut-up vocal samples that's subsequently given an even more up-tempo club electro re-fix courtesy of Bogata-based producer Dagga. Elsewhere, 'Drop Your Pants' is another seriously sleazy and pumping slab of X-rated dancefloor insanity, while 'Boy You Nasty' is a muscular, driving slab of steroid-enhanced ghetto-tek sweatiness.

Review: You'd expect an EP called Big Bang Energy - especially one crafted by the combined talents of Sweaty Records regular Volruptus and electro/techno heavyweight Jenson Interceptor - to be full of heavy, high-octane treats. It is, of course, with opener 'Everything' adding aggressive electronic motifs, mind-mangling riffs, broken computer beats and 808 bass to a fast and sweaty electro beat. The all-out aggression is tempered a little on the admittedly filthy and mind-mangling 'Alien Realm', but it returns on the frankly insane, buzzing and bleeping techno surge of 'Unknown Source' and 'End of the Human Race'. The latter is quite bouncy and fun, despite its clear dystopian intent.

Review: Following six years spent tickling the fancy of quality electro lovers the world over, Mikey Melas AKA Jensen Interceptor has finally got round to recording a debut album. It's a pretty hot collection of cuts, with the Sydney producer joining the dots between ranging, angular peak-time slammers ("Ultramax", "Drip Freq"), bustling and bass-heavy workouts ("Haze"), bleeping space symphonies (the Sinewave-esque "Dimensional Thought"), Drexciya-style missives ("Ufology", "Shadow Network") and more crystalline, melodious affairs ("Mother"). Some of his scene pals swing by to lend a hand, too, with The Hacker and Assembler Code collaborations standing out.
