Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged but otherwise in excellent condition***

The Roulade label is doing things right - not only is the music they are serving up superb, but so to do this second 12" comes with great and original artwork. Its neon glow and diffuse light capture the vibes of the synths on the opening cut 'C'est Party' perfectly. It's a melodically rich tech house cut with rubbery bass and great spoken words from a world disco dancing competition. Occibel's 'Give 'Em Some Rest' is busy and dense with whirring sci-fi synths, funky Prince riffs, thudding house beats and plenty of colour. Add in two more equally vibrant and characterful cuts from Hearthug and Wooka on the flip and you have one of the most unique EPs we've heard in some time.

Kush/Fabrega - "Matusita Haus" (6:16)
Review: The Siku label is back with a fifth in its various artists series and just like the previous four this is another hugely effective EP. Rufo/Onoffon open up with the snappy tech house of 'Sant Boi' complete with futuristic synth details and tripped-out melodies. Kento's 'Broken System' has a darker underbelly with rigid drum loops and frosty pads. Brian Topham and Nulek combine to great effect on 'Sonido Accidental' which is an astral bit of acid techno that glides on icy hi-hats. The final collaboration is between Kusha and Kabrega and their 'Matusita Haus' is a nimble electro-tech trip through the stars.

I Can't Shake This Feeling (7:53)
I Can't Shake This Feeling (Young Pulse Baby Powder remix) (5:42)
Review: When love drives us wild - perhaps one too many cocoons in our stomachs have hatched as butterflies, leading to an over-excitation of winged beats - a paradoxical sense of undomesticated entrapment may follow. Whether or not our love is acted upon or returned, the fear is that the feeling will never go away, that we have been irreversibly rewilded, and that the mere mention of the person wall never fail to stir us. Kilque nailed the flooding feeling with 'I Can't Shake This Feeling' in 1982, where the motivic repetition of the chorus line "...must be love" added extra poignancy to the word "burden" to describe a song's hook. Now UK production talents U Key and Omar wax the tune extra weightily, lighting a cogno-scented candle of full-boded electro disco, eliciting strange, fatuous sensations in proximate suitors. The track boasts a full live brass and string sections, uniting Japanese and Bostonian talents; it also features Curtis Williams of Kool & The Gang on alto, while Oberheim and Moog add a modern electronic spice. Young Pulse's remix marks a sensorial broken-beat easer-upper on the B, with its foolhardy breakdowns and Rhodesy downturns.

Border One - "Contour" (5:50)
Orbe - "Wolheim" (7:15)
Tonske - "Droid" (6:14)
Review: The third drop on Tonske's Cogo label welcomes another grip of high-functioning techno freaks to the table. The mighty Jeroen Search leads the charge with the loopy, Hood-flavoured pressure of 'Observer' before Border One throws down a primal mind-warper which is built for creative blending and psychological submersion. ORBE heads up the flip with a deadly, simmering workout built from densely interwoven threads of drums and synth, all the better to open a wormhole up with. Tonske's own sonar bleep stylings offer the deepest foil to the intensity of the other tracks, favouring minimalism as a vessel for pure, eyes-closed techno escapism.

Silverlining - "Murine Illusions" (6:47)

Oliver Moon - "What You Want" (6:59)
Tom Gillieron - "Orange Clouds" (7:14)
Review: The Tree Frog Army EP on Neotropiq features the diverse talents of the label's collective, offering a myriad of strong electronic dance music. Silverlining's 'Murine Illusions' begins the EP with a nostalgic yet powerful West-Coast-inspired acid house vibe. Trixie's 'Handshake' follows with hypnotic broken drums and otherworldly synths, creating an entrancing atmosphere. Oliver Moon's 'What You Want' brings icy TR-707 drums and mysterious vocals, delivering a groove full of surprises. Finally, Tom Gillieron's 'Orange Clouds' infuses Motor City vibes with subaqueous pads, perfect for the hazy hours of the morning. Together, these tracks form a cohesive narrative, reflecting the collective's love for warm aesthetics and breaking genre conventions. Beyond their musical talents, Neotropiq stands united in using their platform to address global injustices, making this a worthwhile endeavour all round.

Review: CULTED return in trademark force with five wild psych-bangers from luminaries Simple Symmetry, Thomass Jackson, Orchid, Ayala, and Multi Culti boss Thomas Von Party teamed up with Oltrefuturo. A sense of weirdness exudes from these tunes, refusing the common pitfalls of twee chord progressions or underproduction hidden behind rawness; these ones are as high-qual, watery, poured-over as can be, yet also bring with them a real sense of exploration and eccentricity of mood. The utmost case in point is Thomas Van Party & Oltrefuturo's 'Kookoo', a chugging machine-elven carnival of doffed conical hats and gated cute vocals.

Review: Breakcore don DJ Balli and tropical electro purveyor Sindaco team up on the aptly titled Mutant Goth Italo. True to its name, the Italian duo deliver a batch of oddball, high-energy Euro dance filtered through a nocturnal lens, with affecting vocals from Ossydiana. The twisted pop sensibilities of opener 'Pizzeria Brigada Rossa' set the tone i a feverish pace, shimmering synths, and a searing vocal top-line. The gorgeously sleazy 'Febbre' is a standout, driving yet restrained, while 'Ricatto' impresses with its sinister synths, crisp drums and undulating bass. Closer 'Fedeli Alle Linee' lets it all hang out, pairing singalong melodies with snappy rhythms and snarling bass arps.

Off Night - "Definition" (6:16)
Review: Future Romance's Collector II release is a futuristic trek into through the realms of melodic trance and techno, featuring four melodic tracks by different distinct artists. Solee's 'Euphoria' takes trance into the future with a smoother, more reserved approach, toning down the over-the-top elements for a refined experience. Paul Angelo & Don Argento's 'Harpe' delves into a deeper style of trance, characterised by snappy percussion and growling basslines, with influences from goa trance. On the flip side, Drumcomplex & Frank Sonic's 'Ultra Hex' offers celestial-sounding techno that builds euphorically. Closing the EP, Off Night's 'Definition' presents the most peak-time trance track, with epic and big-sounding elements. If you are looking for the future of the trance and neo-trance, check this out this EP from the birthplace of the genre.

Review: Groovadelica is a New Zealand-based record label that comes through now with its third offering in the form of this 7" from young and fast-rising new artist Soul Prophet. His 'Back To Dilla' features the buttery tones of UK soul sensation Omar and pays tribute to the great beat maker that was the late J Dilla. It's a jam full of dusty beats and jazzy key samples with a laid-back and late-night feel. The lush flute sounds come from Nathan Haines with extra tabla for even more musical richness. This one has already been getting plays from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge and Mr. Thing so expect to hear it plenty more this winter.

Feelin' It (2:28)
Feelin' It (alternative version) (2:20)
Review: Record Shack unearth two tunes from the vaults of Austrian public broadcasting institution ORF, available for the very first time on officially released 7" record. Pressed using only the strictest high-grade equipment, the flame of soul soprano Stefanie Vhynak's 'Feelin' It' is rekindled with a rejuvenative flair: the Viennese singer cut her teeth in the USA before her return to her birthplace, where she was discovered and subsequently enjoyed a longstanding career. Though her stint with the Austrian Broadcasting Company was short-lived, it could still be argued that Stefanie's rep of contributions to the broadcaster lie among her best. The exigency of radio is paramount to good songcraft, which is why there are two versions of 'Feelin' It' here; the first of which lays down the centrality of the song's lyrics via pared-backbeat and muted funk, and the latter pulling the pull ring on the sonic grenade, allowing a full-throttle vocal and instrumental amour to explode.

It offered a rare chance to discover hidden gems from the Austrian Public Broadcasting Institution (ORF) vaults which were all vinyl debuts in summer. This gatefold double 7" kicks off with Stefanie & ORF Big Band's 'Compared to What,' a hard-hitting funk track featuring lo-fi vibes and powerful horns. Vince & Claudia - "You, Me & He" (4:48)
One Man Band - "Me & He" (4:57)
Review: A rather calming lovers rock track reissued on 12". When reggae drummer Lindel Lewis teamed up with singers Vincent Taylor and Claudia, few could anticipate the sonic romance that would blossom. 'You, Me & He' seems to capture two such triangulations, one lying at the heart of the real collaboration between artists, and the other evoked in the imaginary love tryst explored in the song. Wafty reverb vocals from the sweetly voiced Claudia give an admissive, coy impression of the persona she channels, which is lent a soothing antiphony from Taylor. Lewis, meanwhile, evidences his solo drumming and dubbing chops on the smooth 'Me & He' versions under the name One Man Band, twinning coldness and haziness.

Review: We're not sure what it takes to tranquilise an elephant, but one thing's for sure: if the elephant is us, then we'll never forget this sonic injection. In four-track syringe form comes a new 12" from Wicked Sound System; 'Surrender' was originally recorded in 1999, having been co-written by Blane Lyon and DJ Shakra in collaboration with vocalist Omega Rae. After Lyon's untimely passing in 2020, his hard drives were entrusted to Tranquil Elephantizer, who reworked 'Surrender' into a 22nd anniversary rerub also known as the 'Angel Dub'. The subsequent 'Le Bain' remix by fellow sureshot Tony Humphries also appears on this record, along with a more contemporary version from Wicked Sound System founder Jeno. All the tracks are brilliant, but it's the beatific 'Angel Dub' that stands out among them, its shiftingly gated, elysian vocals and transitional amino acids marking out a salient transcension in sound.

Review: Gale-force sonic apneas from Planet Rhythm, the label and unstoppable phonic force from Rotterdam. The imprint's latest V/A release in the Dubwars series this time takes on its own name, 'Minerals', and welcomes rambunctious techno troilers from the likes of Unknown Code, OFF / GRID, and Luca Accardi. Rhythmically dragged, diminished stab-chords define the A1 and A2 against metal girdered kick patterns, with 'Moment' especially nailing that ever-sought-after sweet spot of energy and anhedonia, a mixed feeling perhaps only achievable within techno's ambit. Dub techno inflections turn to infarctions, as Accardi's 'Minerals' sucks the sonic substrate dry with ballistic echoes, giving way to Gockel's minimal mountaintop NDE, 'Meditation In Tibet'.

Review: Premade heavyweight Obscure Shape and classically trained musician Conrad team up; Berg Audio proudly welcome them as a new duo addition to their roster, together under the name Urban CC. Throwing back to real-deal minimal-ambient techno of a steezy kind, something between Maurizio, Move D and Ghost, 'Pegasus' and 'Marly' cycle through fluttering dub techno and 1-2-step garage respectively, the latter bringing an eyebrow raising combo of yearnsome garge vocal science and pulsewidth techno shots, post-drop. 'Hadban' sneaks a cheeky drum & bass bullet train onto an otherwise techno-centric platform, marking Sleepnet-style vocal etherics and sold-on-us liquid. 'Shagya' finally restricts the mix, with a dubtech-house full of beeping, filtered vocal shouts; a Strictly Rhythm-meets-Chain Reaction contraction.

Bridging sci-fi-laced techno with 90s minimalism, it features deep sound design and muscular drum patterns that combine for real club potency. UVALL from Tbilisi offers refined, deep rhythms with his cut, then Operator brings seasoned UK innovation and label co-founder Divide delivers precision and weight with global pedigree. This latest techno offering is a various artists affair with cultured Dutchman Versalife opening up with 'Skirmish 101', a booming bit of electro with the fattest synth lines you can imagine, and plenty of reverb. Acid Pimp's 'Acid Baby' is a wild and wonky 303 workout and Jamie Anderson & Owain K then combine for something much more soporific. 'Basement Dub' is as deep as you like. Review: The seventh V/A release on Mary Yuzovskaya's Monday Off imprint lands on vinyl, with Viels, ORBE, D-Leria, and Yuzovskaya all contributing tracks. Each artist lending their tender efforts to a mutant techno march, Viels' 'Nero' and Orbe's 'Rigging' provide strong titular clues as to their muses; the first uses both the Latin word for "black" and the name of an ancient Roman emperor, suggesting might, militancy and nyctalopic mis-seeing in its dispatch of a blind sonic firestorm; the latter likens production to construction, with its central, low-sined wayfinder sound effect, and dusty hi-hat caroms, suggesting some vessels have windshields that truly can brave the storm. Yuzovskaya's 'Trouble' lands us in hot water, with its startled, far-off vocal snippets and knockout prattles in the left and right lobes; then there's B-leria's closer 'Battito', a living, breathing planetary entity, prone to emit eerily harmonic Close Encounters-style tones and whose atmosphere we dare not cross.

Mary Yuzovskaya kicks off the record with 'Lazy,' a robust techno track infused with goa trance elements, while Tauceti's 'Maranta Lemon' soothes with melodic trance accompanied by pulsating bass notes. Review: With a title inspired by the utterances of The Oracle of Delphi, a cult of female priestesses who reportedly "changed the course of civilisation" by inhaling volcanic vapours, it's clear that Lee Burtucci and Olivia Block's first collaborative album is rooted in paganistic visions and experimental mysticism. It's comprised of two lengthy tracks, each accompanied by edited 'excerpts', and combines Burtucci's experimental synth sounds and tape loops with Block's processed vocalisations and hazy field recordings. Dark and suspenseful, with each extended composition delivering a mixture of mind-mangling electronics, creepy ambience and musical elements doused in trippy effects, it sits somewhere between the charred "illbient" of DJ Spooky and the deep space soundscapes of the late Pete Namlook.

Rather than being overshadowed by his legendary accompanists, Henderson rises to the occasion which helps make this a standout gem in vocal jazz.

Review: The glorious Dobro label gets to double figures in fine style here with a new album that finds Iner both going solo and collaborating with Oiuna on four new cuts which then get remixed. The originals are summery, airy, organic worlds of gentle deep house rhythms, feathery synth melodies and gentle hooks that have a subtle future feel. The remixes rework the tunes for more direct vibes in the club with Frank Music label head Johannes Albert going first and then Crowd Control also stepping up. Great artwork, too.

Review: Beyond A Moonless Night, a collaboration between Simon Huxtable's Inhmost project and Pierre Nesi's Owl alias, epitomizes chillout bliss. Highlights include 'Autumnal Dew,' a picturesque, nature-infused soundscape perfect for stargazing. Its beauty is awe-inspiring and evocative. 'Zodiacal Clouds' is another standout, shimmering with soft, floaty ambient tones that are simply delightful. On Side-2, 'Infinite Pathways' gives us feelings of being hopeful in a serene enviorment, offering a sense of tranquility and calm. Both artists bring their expertise in ambient music, creating a rich palette of soothing tones and textures. This collaboration is an exciting collaboration we hope to see more from. Review: Celebrating 25 years of two of the most influential house labels around, this joint double-pack from London's R2 and Osunlade's Yoruba Records is a heavyweight offering that bridges soulful roots and dancefloor depth. Karizma's long-awaited 'Spirit' appears in multiple formsihis original gospel-powered burner, a Josh Milan remix (as Honeycomb), and a dub version featuring Nicholas Ryan Gant, all radiating righteous, late-night warmth. The second R2 cut, 'W!thout !t' is stripped and punchy, full of Karizma's trademark percussive invention. Yoruba's side sees Osunlade light up the system with 'Electricity' and 'Sumpin' Like Dis', both steeped in rhythm and spiritual uplift. Afefe Iku's '823' dives deep into his signature twilight textures, while Karizma's Baltimore remix of Mr. Flip's 'Drippin'' closes the set on a loose and funky high. It's a snapshot of two defining voices in house musicirich in groove, spirit and intention.

Review: O Terno's evolution from 60s-inspired rock to their latest album shows a bold departure from mainstream expectations. While their earlier work hinted at potential commercial success akin to Los Hermanos, the band chose a path less traveled, embracing subversive melodies and instrumentation. Their latest offering is a perfect example to this artistic evolution. seamlessly blends intimate arrangements with a full-band approach, resulting in a captivating sonic experience. Tracks like 'O Bilhete' exude a raw, close-up intimacy, while 'E no Final' delivers cinematic grandeur. Lyrically, the album navigates diverse themes, from sociopolitical commentary to introspective musings. A standout collaboration with Devendra Banhart and Shintaro Sakamoto on 'Volta E Meia' adds depth, exploring themes of romance and self-discovery. Overall, is a beautifully crafted record that defies genre conventions, cementing O Terno's status as innovative trailblazers in the Brazilian music scene.

Review: In the right circles,, Martin O'Donnell and Michael Savatori are living legends. Working with the iconic US video game company Bungie Inc, the pair put their names on the map - or maybe maps? - by creating soundtracks to a number of high profile titles, either as a duo or individually. O'Donnell is arguably the better known, or at least has the bigger online persona, but both composers deserve plenty of credit. Halo: Combat Evolved was the first title in what is now a huge and genre-defining first person shooter franchise, and the score reflects the emergence of video game music as an integral part of the on-screen action. O'Donnell and Savatori's efforts to ensure instrumentation dramatically changed with events in the game, which is by nature relatively non-linear, was a revelation. While their efforts to separate these into individual suites foresaw the rise of playable stories as films in their own right.

Review: It's been a long time since Halo: Combat Evolved revolutionised the word of first-person shooter video games. Graphically superior to anything that had come before it, the franchise also benefits from a spectacularly gripping storyline in which humans are outgunned and out-teched by a ruthless and uncompromising alliance of superiorly equipped alien races united as The Covenant. The titular Halo adds a kind of Prometheus air of uncertainty, as nobody really knows what it does until attempts to activate the galaxy-destroying weapon reveal something worse than death - a parasitic breed called the Flood. If all that was enough to blow everyone away in 2001, 2004 brought us to a whole new level of immersion in this future scape. Just like its predecessor, a big part of the impact was the visionary score by gaming soundtrack masters Martin O'Donnell and Michael Savatori. Now here it is in all its Gregorian chanting glory.

Review: The full 83 track suite from the original Halo trilogy of video games is here, bringing you an exemplary score befitting of one of the most acclaimed Arcadian future combat shooter game series in the world. Now you can figuratively "don" your very own sonic Spartan supersoldier suit, as the game's trademark musical motifs - mystical Gregorian choral chants, missionary orchestral movements, gloried verging-on-prog upswells and downturns - are laid in pristine electronica-augmented fashion, by composers Martin O'Donnell, Michael Salvatori and C Paul Johnson. The midpoint of the record marks a highlight, where the Halo 2 soundtrack heard a long list of A-list musician collaborators, marking a heavy metal and nu-metal sojourn.

Weaving orchestral elements, prog rock, drum corps marches, and heavy metal, Halo presents a perfect bottling of angst and militancy; owing to its popularity with a certain teen gamer cohort, Halo 2's score especially made history as the first video game OST to chart on the Billboard 200. Now, each soundtrack is presented in its own sleeve with custom artwork, and comes in a collector's box adorned with a debossed Halo logo and silver laminate finish.

Review: Jim O'Rourke's tribute album, All Kinds of People Love Burt Bacharach, sincerely honours the pop composer's five-decade legacy, celebrated by legends as diverse as Brian Wilson, Stan Getz, and Dr. Dre. Initially, O'Rourke's project seemed an odd match given his tenure with Sonic Youth, but his appreciation for McCartney hinted at a playful side. O'Rourke's album, featuring both popular hits like 'I Say A Little Prayer' and obscure gems such as 'Anonymous Phone Call,' is gloriously whimsical and musically inventive. The tracks are beautifully performed, pristinely produced, and feature guest vocalists like Haruomi Hosono and Kahimi Karie. While their English pronunciation may falter, their sincerity charms. The arrangements, often slightly deviating from the originals, captivate with their inspired resourcefulness. A steel drum leading 'Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head' exemplifies this inventive approach. This tribute album not only celebrates Bacharach's sophisticated pop but also enhances O'Rourke's reputation as a brilliant, imaginative artist.

Review: Daniel O Sullivan, known as a producer for the likes of Tim Burgess and for his astounding art pop band Grumbling Fur, makes his first foray into classically informed chamber music. With some sort of superhuman genius mind, the unassuming Mancunian wrote these arrangements for a 14-piece ensemble and nailed it. 'Golden Verses' is stately, pastoral, yet menacing. Another highlight, 'Painting Rose' is some of the most psychedelic classical music you'll ever hear. So, if you're looking for chamber music that spans eras, genres and takes you on a transcendent journey, then look no further.

Review: Fourth volume of Library Music miniatures by Daniel O'Sullivan (Ulver, aethenor, This is Not This Heat, etc.) for VHF, this time commissioned by the legendary German Music Library, Sonoton. Another sampling of O'Sullivan's versatility and brilliance as a composer, performer and sound designer, the focus on The Pastoral Machine is more "electronic" compared to the three previous albums O'Sullivan recorded for KPM (also issued on LP by VHF), with simpler arrangements and a focus on gentle and emotive synthesised soundworlds. Even without as many full ensemble arrangements, there's still a wealth of diversity - 'Empathogen' opens the record with latticed arpeggiating sequences recalling Japanese "environmental music" or Persian Surgery-era Terry Riley, 'Fruit Of Stream Entry' burbles with gentle ripples evoking the album's title, while 'The Silversmith Of Space' mines a simple chord sequence evoking Eno's 70s classic short instrumentals. Recalling futurist new-age pop in the vein of Enya or Virginia Astley, the record comes housed in a jacket and heavy euro-style inner featuring collages by O'Sullivan, soon to be the subject of an art book published by Timeless Editions in mid-2024.

The Brit stretches his legs and pulls out all the stops here to cover plenty of ground while reaming true to his signature sound design excellence: bouncy, minimal but strobe-lit cuts like 'Kesk', twisted 90s techno sounds like 'Grun', barely-there IDM-adjacent sounds like 'Groente' and ice cold dub cuts like 'Botala'. A real masterclass.

After several trips to Berlin and Munich, they've found a home with the Alien Transistor label and now drop plenty of guitarless noise punk with production by Shinji Masuko. It makes for an unmatched, hard-hitting barrage that leaves listeners breathless right from the opener, '(Shuku - A)' with its sizzling hi-hats and a unique lullaby from vocalist Ami. Tracks like 'Luna' and 'Anti-Christ Super Star' shift the album from mosh-inducing chaos to 30-second noise punk anthems, all of which embody the band's anti-racist, anti-war sentiments.

That will change now as they release their highly anticipated debut album on We Jazz Records. Their music is rooted in the spirit of acoustic free jazz pioneers and moves forward on its own unique path. Highlights include the brief opener 'Oag-Ada Sweet' and the four-part 'Suite Tuli' while 'Seagull Shapes' evokes the meditative energy of Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders.

Like any good LP, While I'm Distracted is a deeply personal journey exploring common themes of vulnerability, identity and hope in a world shaped by ever-more existential angst and social media stress. We're told that Arjuna approached this full-length album like a filmmaker crafting a feature and aiming to evoke emotion over concept. Review: Oasis' Be Here Now, now reissued on a stunning picture disc, remains a towering monument to the band's ambition and sonic grandeur. While it may have initially polarised fans, time has been kind to this overblown yet often brilliant third album. From the epic opener 'D'You Know What I Mean?'iwith its bombastic production and soaring chorusito the heartwarming 'Stand By Me', the record still delivers memorable moments. Liam Gallagher's voice is at its peak, bringing grit and emotion to tracks like 'Don't Go Away' and the euphoric 'All Around the World', a Beatles-inspired anthem that truly soars despite its length. The sweeping orchestration and dense layers of guitars are over-the-top and they give the album a unique, bold character. In retrospect, Be Here Now stands as a testament to Oasis' unmatched bravado, a symbol of their ability to craft anthems that, despite the excess, continue to resonate.

Top up your Oasis CD collection with this new rerelease of 'Be Here Now', the band's third and "most colossal" sounding LP, in the words of one Noel Gallagher. Being one of the few major rock albums in history for which its PR persons actually feared overexposure, and sought to control its release, gag orders were signed by journalists to quell its premature hype. Far from the heyday of 'Wonderwall' or 'Definitely Maybe', the album went triple platinum, owing to lead single 'Do You Know What I Mean?', and the band's relentless, cocaine-fuelled pursuit of commercial success at the time.

Review: An album that led to a lot of scrutiny at the time of release in February 2000, not least because of Creation's attempt to make sure it only landed in the inbox of already-proven supporters of the band. But in hindsight their fourth long player has aged beautifully and sounds utterly inspired. The looping Zeppelin-esque riff on 'Fuckin In The Bushes' is pure genius and provides the foundation for the track that's one of the greatest album intros of all time, as well as making Guy Ritchie's Snatch that bit better. Meanwhile, 'Go Let It Out' is a great sing-along and would be a very welcome addition to their comeback gigs in summer 2025. As per usual, Noel takes up most songwriting duties, but there is a cut here written by Liam: 'Little James' is the first song Liam is credited for in Oasis. It's a Lennon-esque beauty delivered with the raw emotion that makes him one of the best rock n' roll singers to have ever walked the earth. Elsewhere, 'Gas Panic' shows off the band's more experimental approach: they were more embracing of sounds outside of that orthodox baseline of guitar/bass/drums than ever before.

Review: An album that requires little to no introduction, Definitely Maybe was and still is the fastest-ever selling debut in the UK on release, while it's legacy and influence continues to be felt and reappear in sonic corners across the globe. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a deluxe 4xLP reissue, this version comes complete with the album's 2014 remaster, boasting some of their most timeless anthems such as 'Shakermaker', 'Live Forever' and 'Supersonic', as well as the never-before-released and previously discarded original recording sessions from Monnow Valley along with outtakes from Sawmills Studios in Cornwall. While the recording process for Oasis' seminal debut have become the stuff of mired Britpop lore, now fans can finally set their own ears to the controversial, incongruent Dave Batchelor takes, and assess the damage - or delight - for themselves.

Review: Oasis' seminal Definitely Maybe is surely right up there with one of the greatest ever debut albums. It came in 1994 and soon catapulted the swaggering Manchester British band to stardom. Now 30 years old, it gets a special anniversary reissue on several formats including this one on double CD. Revered for its raw energy and catchy melodies, the record blends rock and Britpop influences and boats plenty of anthemic tracks like 'Live Forever' and 'Supersonic' that showcased Noel Gallagher's songwriting and brother Liam's distinctive snarly vocals. The album's success, marked by its confident attitude and raw, powerful sound, played a pivotal role in the Britpop movement of the 90s and remains a celebrated work.
