Review: In celebration of their tenth birthday, Selador marks the occasion in style with a four-track collaborative EP, featuring tracks from 3D, Robert Owens, Olivier Giacomotto, Quivver, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Argia, and Jepe. The opening track, 'Known Love', is a deep, pulasting house tune that feels like an instant classic, perhaps thanks to the soulful, pop-tinged vocals - think LCD soundsystem meets Four Tet. 'Snailblazer', the second track on the EP, takes a much darker turn, with a chugging, EBM-esque feel. Full-bodied and complete with obscured vocals, this is the kind of track to pull out your bag when it's time to really get stuck in. On the B-side, 'Napkin Knowledge' draws on the glistening synths of eurodance, yet still securing the melodies to a grounded bassline and rhythm section. 'Salitre' is the perfect closing track, rising up in a gleaming, ecstatic melody, before delicately returning to ground level. A varied yet firmly cohesive collaborative release - the perfect way for Selador to kick off their 2023 catalogue.

Review: O-Wells and 41ISSA team up for their first joint EP, with three tracks full of big room manoeuvres that clock in somewhere between electro, techno and trance, plus a Sansibar remix of 'Encoder' to complete the package. 'Suzuki' outrageously throbbing sequencers bring the decadence of electroclash to mind, but the likes of 'Are You Ready' and 'Pulse' are more gradual builders, with a touch of Carl Craig in his 69 mode. The Sansibar mix is a bleepy electro cut blessed with plenty of drama. Nice work all round.

Review: Discover Dark bang it out once again with another top draw collaboration. Discover fans will already be familiar with the man at the helm, John Askew, but this is his first collaboration with ever-prolific Nick Sentience. This new chapter in the Discover Dark catalogue was made in Nick's London studio. It blends the traditional Sentience production style and sound with some darker, driving elements that one would expect from such an exciting collaboration. Thomas Bronzwaer's remix on the flip reworks the original into a more traditional Discover sounding monster. A double A-side belter - with hammers!! "Another wicked release" - Jon O'Bir.

Review: Conspiracy label boss Jon O'Bir releases his 2nd solo production 'Ascendancy' on the Limited side of the Conspiracy stable. The former Radio 1 and Godskitchen resident is now working harder than ever on the production side of things and 'Ascendancy' shows his efforts. 'Ascendancy' is a pumping club track with a gorgeous riff and string pattern keeping to the sound that Jon is known for using in his DJ sets. Crisp production gives this track an extra push. Original mix has early support from Armin van Buuren on A State Of Trance radio, Ferry Corsten and Eddie Halliwell on Radio 1. Yet again another massive remix is created for Conspiracy via German superstars Alex MORPH and Woody van Eyden. There remix keeps the drive, while adding a very uplifting feel to the track. The Conspiracy team have had no end of emails asking when this remix will be released after huge support from many of the trance DJs. Alex MORPH & Woody van Eyden remix early support from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and John Askew.

Review: Although "Restricted Motion" was a massive selling record, "Exactly" is shaping up to cause an even bigger impact on the scene with it gaining immediate praise from the likes of Armin Van Buuren (licensed to the ASOT 2006 compilation), Paul Van Dyk (in his Miami top 10) and just about every other credible trance DJ who has been exposed to it. The genius partnership in O’Callaghan & Kearney has created a magic melody that will surely dominate many of the world's most prestigious dancefloors and festivals this summer. This is quality big-room trance with mature melodies and driving beats at its absolute best. As if the original wasn't strong enough on its own, Vandit's secret weapon Giuseppe Ottaviani (of Nu Nrg fame) turns out a remix, which John Askew described as "pure audio sex".

Review: Japanese trance phenomenon Hiroyuki Oda makes his ASOT label debut with a pair of amazing big room trance tracks hand-picked by Armin Van Buuren. The A-side's "Transmigration" is a real powerhouse, starting off with a dark and driving feel that stays constant throughout as melodic flourishes begin to work their way in, giving the track a truly epic sound. The B-side's "Injection" is equally grand, with an even darker initial dancefloor punch that's incredibly potent.

Review: The Eurodance label is on a mission to serve up exactly the sort of music you would expect from its name. This four such transmission is another bullseye as it brings hi-energy techno sounds coloured with an array of different motifs. On the opener, it's a Beyonce-esque pop vocal that brings the fun, while lashings of acid and lurching drum loops define 'Frozen'. 'My Humps' (Euro mix) is fairground ride techno with fizzing synth energy and another playful vocal sample while 'Juicy' is a sleazy juke banger with bold drum patterns and a vocal that will send any party wild.

Review: Imagine! by Overlords of the UFO was a global US Progressive Trance hit when it was originally released in 1994 - number one on many underground dance charts for several weeks. Mixmag dubbed it "wicked" and other relevant mags gave it high accolades e.g. XLR8R. Imagine! is a collaboration between Anthony Barker and Lynn Serafinn, both trained musicians and analogue synth aficionados. Whirling Thru Time & Space Mix on Side A was inspired by a poem from 60's cult sci-fi author; Fredric Brown - and UFO Mix is a faster tempo remix of the former. Side B's Deeply Hypnotic Mix is a downtempo remix, incorporating some world music elements, and Surfin' UFO was a very limited licensed track that Billboard Magazine described positively and humorously as "campy and kitschy"
