Drops Of You (4:55)
Review: Mutual Rytm welcomes back Alarico for another one of his trademark and mind-bending techno EPs. His grasp of rhythm and sound design both elevate these high-functioning tracks into art form level. '0 Kelvin' wastes no time in hitting the ground running with its hurried, closely stacked kicks and barrage of percussion while 'One More' has waves of pixelated melody breaking over the grainy drums and supple bass. The flip side is full of invention on all fronts - there is coy funk in 'Asma' that is clipped and kinetic, then 'Sunburn' bangs that box with fizzing synths and yelping vocals that raise the euphoria levels. 'Drops Of You' is a final emotionally intense offering that races along with shimmering melodies and more emotionally charged vocals.

Review: Mutual Rytm is one of the finest labels out there if you like your techno with no frills and banging with energy. Venerated Aussie mainstay Shane Yates aka Alpharisc is the one behind this one and has always maintained a rather reclusive character since breaking through with the Wetmusik party and label collective. This is actually his first 12" in some 20 years after having appeared on this label's Federation Of Rytm II compilation and it doesn't disappoint. All six cuts are a twist on no nonsense techno grooves built from rock-solid kicks with lithe synths, coarse claps and percussive clatter bringing each one to life.

Review: Aussie techno innovator Alpharisc is back on Mutual Rytm with a standout second EP. Following his underground gem 'Ram Face' EP, Shane Yates again draws on the fact he has been immersed in techno for over 30 years, crafting raw, rugged sounds with his extensive hardware collection. 'Peace Be With You' opens with urgent synths and sharp drums, while 'Hail' adds frosty noise and an intense groove. 'Remain Seated 'features bright synths and driving bass and 'Look At This' combines slamming drums with melancholic pads. The closing track 'In Your Mind' offers cosmic, deep techno to close.

Review: SHDW's label Mutual Rytm has become a bastion of modern fast techno - the catchy, playful stuff ripping up warehouses and festivals the world over. Now they're presenting a new EP from Anne and Sera J, who have a whale of a time exploring crushing 4/4 rhythms and cheeky samples that shine a light amidst the pervading darkness of the tracks. The low end rumble and thump is precision engineered, and dynamic shifts absolutely on point and you just know the masses will move to this. Throw in some iconic sounds like Loletta Holloway's "right on time" and you've got yourself a grip of monster techno hits to keep any sizeable floor in motion.

Sera J - "Glacial Pace" (4:53)
Anne - "Floating Waves" (5:20)
Anne - "Planetary Dust" (4:47)
Anne - "Sweet Seventeen" (4:55)
Review: Sombre sonics from Anne and Sera J, who return for the second edition of their Symbiosis series on Mutual Rytm here. Sharing three grooves per side each, we're met with lilting lathes of "groovecore" deep techno of the highest calibre, perhaps boosted by the fact that Anne and Sera are partners both in life and music, and that the Symbiosis series is intended not only as an expression of this fact, but also as the expression of the innermost feelings that accompany it. Described as "a mature and refined connection between (the artists') souls", the likes of 'Glacial Pace', 'Floating Waves' and 'Sweet Seventeen' vacillate between tunnel-vision techno of a stonier variety, and trancier forever feelings, befitting indeed of music made while in a relationship.

Axial Inclination (4:49)
Chara (4:40)
Review: Neapolitan producer Raffaele Attanasio pays homage to his homeland's rich musical hertiage with this mega-impressive techno-trance five-tracker. 'Quasar' is an expert project when it comes to breakdowns and buildups, with spitting synth stabs occupying the oft-minute long spaces between each drop and drum section. While the title track is the main melodic star, an acidic lichen begins to grow on the EP at about halfway in, rendering the whole thing darker and texturally juicier.

South Signatures (4:31)
Review: Raffaele Attanasio has been gradually becoming a big name in Italian techno over the past decade and his latest 'South Signatures' 12" is turning up on the German label Mutual Rytm, which looks to be a match made in heaven. This EP houses five strong high energy dancefloor punishers that are not for the faint of heart. 'Madrigal' is a strong melodic techno burner that is perfect for the main stage of any techno festival. Powerful and futuristic, it adds an aura of trance to the building of the melody. 'Heat' is a techno dancefloor workout for the headstrong. 'Aogin Tree' is more traditional styled loopy techno that you would find on Drumcode, Zenit or Skunkworks in the early 00s. Blistering track! Our favourite may be the title track itself, for its pure unadulterated fun aspect. If you are into big room sounding techno that grabs your attention, then look no further.

Review: Gary Beck is a seasoned techno veteran who has dropped his useful sounds on plenty of the scene's finest labels. And that is the case again here as he lands on the esteemed Mutual Rytm with fine well designed and effective cuts. He wastes no time in getting down to business with the hammering hits and hard-assed drums of 'Upside Criminal' while 'Sambana' is a loopy cut that sweeps you up from below. 'Pepper Track' is another grinding, gritty, speed-riddled techno monster and 'Rejected' will rattle the walls of any warehouse. Last of all is 'Ghost', which has a more heads-up feel thanks to the brighter chords and subtle sense of hope.

Review: Swiss artist Chlar's last EP Optimized Grooves was a standout success across the techno world and it marked a significant step for the fast-rising producer after fine outings on labels like Iceland's NIX and Stranger's Self Reflektion imprint. His full-throttle style is continually evolving as his latest offering, the Intrinsic Drive EP shows. 'Dopamine Rush' kicks off with fast techno beats and hypnotic synths, 'Intrinsic Drive' weaves tightly packed drums, bass, and alien sound designs, 'For Marco' intensifies with darker kicks and eerie synths, while 'Steady Pace' adds swing with crisp hits and vocal fragments. 'Greedy Man' offers industrial undertones with skewed synths to end on yet another stylish banger.

Now he's arrived on Mutual Rytm with some slamming peak time gear loaded with his distinctive sound design instinct. 'Graze' is a raucous, swinging slice of industrial intensity, while 'Cumaru' brings the loopy techno fireworks to the buoyant uptempo scene. Review: Deetron returns with Translate Rhythms, a 10" vinyl release that showcases his skillful blend of house and techno. Side-1 features the title track, 'Translate Rhythms,' an organ-driven jam layered over an upbeat Detroit techno rhythm. This track stands out with its unique house groove, combining classic and modern elements effortlessly. On Side2, 'Cause' takes center stage as a dancefloor banger, delivering powerful energy that's guaranteed to get the crowd moving. The EP closes with 'Move,' a darker track that harks back to the mid-90s warehouse sound, bringing a nostalgic vibe. Review: Long-time Portuguese techno veteran Dextro delivers a cultured EP on Mutual Rytm that shows his mastery of hypnotic minimal. Known for his deep roots in simplicity and authenticity, Dextro's productions span a range of groovy to intense techno, always guided by intuition. 'Covil Dos Abutres' features frictionless beats and sci-fi motifs reminiscent of classic Jeff Mills, while 'Correct Incorrect' adds rubbery, dub-infused grooves with delicate melodies. Review: Mutual Rytm deals in proper techno that does the basics well and doesn't worry about modern fads. 'Surface' is the standout here - it has brilliantly bubbly synths rippling in sync with the hunched drums and bold bass notes. It works perfectly on both head and body and so does 'Blush' though with a more sleek, straight-ahead groove and minimal percussion over the echoing claps. 'Grainy' shuts down with another stylish techno bent and confirms Dold to be a vital voice in the current underground.

Review: Exos, the seasoned Icelandic techno producer, returns with Icebreaker, a powerful release on Mutual Rytm Germany that dives deep into the genre's raw intensity. Side-1 opens with 'Voices Of Volcano,' a tribal-infused track that pulses with primal energy, echoing the chants of ancient rituals. 'Enter The Danger' ramps up the tempo, delivering a fierce, looping rhythm that’s both relentless and aggressive. The title track, 'Icebreaker,' follows, packed with hard-hitting percussion that keeps the momentum high. On Side-2, 'Mocoa Beats' stands out with its deeper groove and otherworldly sonic textures, blending alien-like sounds into a hypnotic rhythm that’s simply irresistible. 'Chicat' closes the record, infusing acid elements into a heavy, dominating track that’s both energetic and otherworldly. It's a dynamic and powerful track with a strong build up and a devastating, menacing sound. The second track, 'Kaldur Klaki,' is a loopy, hard and fast, percussive, tribal track. It's a peak time track with an organic, drummy sound. The third track, 'The Bad', is a 90s German style track with a cool beat and a storming sound. Crafted entirely with analogue gear, the EP is shaped by their dynamic live sets. 'Hush Up' opens with rolling, hypnotic rhythms, while 'Double Tap' delivers classic, pumping techno. The German duo's latest outing is another classy techno offering aimed squarely at the dance floor, each with its own subtly anthemic vibes and perfect for a wide range of settings, moods and moments. 'Eraser' is in your face and full of angst and edginess with clipped vocal shouts and incendiary hi-hats. Review: Italian DJ/producer SLV makes a powerful return to SHDW's Mutual Rytm with his new 'Night Echoes' EP, delivering five dynamic techno tracks. Born in Sicily and now based in Berlin, SLV is recognised for his inventive approach to blending old-school and modern techno. The first cut is a blistering one: 'Sincfala' is like a blizzard on a frosty tundra with walls of textural synth and fizzing drums all washing over you. 'Rapidshade' is another high speed roller with some pent up funk in the drums. The machine sounds continue at pace with the cantering grover of 'Ad Valvas' and loopy, busted, underlapping intensity of 'Nusakan' which is softened only slightly by some rueful pads up top. Bringing a harder, more pounding techno sound to Mutual Rytm, the title track, 'Stomping Ground', hits with catchy chords and a strong, dancefloor-ready rhythm, complete with infectious hooks that keep energy levels high. Review: Not to be confused with the academic of the same name (who, fittingly, was one of the first to offer intellectual analysis of dance music culture in the 90s), Steve Redhead is a Belgian techno mainstay whose output has always tended towards the muscular, stomping and sonically grandiose. That's exactly what's on offer here, as the long-serving underground techno artist flits between rave-igniting intensity ('Blokhut'), noise-soaked big room slammers ('Sea Choy', with is reverb-laden, eight-bit style melodic refrain and audible nods to Morse Code), Head High style warehouse techno bounciness (the loopy but surprisingly rushing 'Bruusk'), and EBM-influenced, industrial strength analogue heaviness (the excellent title track, 'Eastbrook Isle').

Review: The Mutual Rytm label has been providing serious techno heads with irresistible ammunition for several years, and now comes a chance to own a huge chunk of the catalogue on this limited edition and bumper five record set. It features many of the label's key names past, present and future and deals in the sort of serious sounds that are for connoisseurs only. Standouts come thick and fast but the likes of Roll Dann's rolling and funky pumper 'That Will Never Happen', Alarico's urgent cosmic techno on 'Push To Select' and Selective Response's menacing and sawtooth bass sounds on 'Reality Unfolds' really epitomise what good techno is all about.
