Notes: The CP909 is the TR-909's analogue clap sound generator in Eurorack format. This is yet another low-cost analogue drum generator from a legendary drum machine in your modular synthesizer, expanding your Tiptop Audio modular drum machine even further.
The CP909 is an exact reproduction of the original analogue circuit and with the addition of just one extra knob, "trashing" the frequency of the internal noise generator, Tiptop have added greatly to the spectrum of sounds that can be generated. All that without compromising the signature sound of the TR-909.
The CP909 clap effect is made by a special triple-saw envelope generator that controls the gain of a VCA. The sound source feeding into the VCA is made by a quasi-random logic- based noise generator. Moog style filterbank Module.
Notes: The FILTERBANK914 is designed after the famous Moog 914 Fixed Filterbank. It includes 12 bandpass filters with fixed center frequencies and additionally a lowpass- and a highpass filter. Control knobs for all the frequency bands allow individual mixing of the bands. This is especially useful for shaping the sound spectrum similar to acoustic instruments - they get their character by certain frequency peaks, so called "formants".
This module is different to (and not a good choice as) a multiband equalizer. The equalizer can increase/decrease certain bands in the range of e.g. -12...+12dB, with the signal unchanged with all controls in center position. In contrast, the FILTERBANK914 controls are attenuators over the full level, meaning the individual band is completely muted when the knob is turned completely counter-clockwise.

Notes: KR is based off of the concept of a guitar tonestack: you get a gnarly drive on the top and a super clean two-band shelving EQ with switchable midpoint after that. There are separate ins and outs, too, so if you want to EQ a thing and distort the other thing at the same time you can!
Kith Ruina's inspiration comes from the world of guitar amps. A drive into an EQ is an extremely common configuration for shaping guitar tone, and we find that it works extremely well for synths as well. A grungy drive into a pristine EQ gives excellent tone control, and with separate ins and outs for the two sections KR can be configured to fit into any patch you throw at it.

Notes: 3xVCA offers three high class amplifier circuits with linear characteristic. Thanks to AC / DC compatibility, a very low noise floor and basically no distortion, the module is not only a great partner for control voltages, but audio material as well. Besides a signal input and output, each VCA has its own CV input. The dual potentiometers regulate levels and bipolar CV attenuation values of all amplifiers. Using these rather unusual, yet very practical components, it was possible to equip the 3x VCA with a front panel that is only 6 HP wide. Switches allow the user to feed the results of one amplifier to the output of the next amplifier, so we can get 1+2, 2+3, and 1+2+3 outputs mix. Two-colored LEDs visualize CV and output signals.

Equalizer module - 6HP.
Notes: TriTone is a three section EQ plus saturator. Inner knobs control frequency and outer knobs control +- gain. All these sections Hi Shelf, Band Pass and Low Shelf are having + 20 db of gain and 30 db of reduction. Each section can work independently or they can be serially connected by the switches. Middle input in each section accepts CV for its frequency, so all three sections can be individually FMed by the external CVs.
If the inputs are fed with the modular level signals (+- 5V), then there is little room for "plus" EQ gains before saturation starts. In this case the input level should be attenuated first, if saturation is not desired and much "plus" gain is needed. Otherwise saturation drastically enriches the tone and the module works like very flexible overdrive FX.
When the switches are set to upper positions, then all three sections work independently. With the maximum gain reduction (CCW position) of the upper section (Hi Shelf) it becomes a useful kind of Low Pass filter. On the contrary - maximum gain reductions of the lower section (Low Shelf) makes it a High Pass filter.
Please note the internal routing done by the switches: the output of the uppers section is added to the input of the subsequent lower section. If nothing is connection to this lower sections' input, then only the upper section's output is processed. This makes it a 3 band EQ with the switches set to lower position. Having separated inputs opens up more possibilities over ordinary EQs.
