Just Like 73 (3:45)
Just Like 73 (alternative version) (3:30)
Review: Sheffield rock royalty Def Leppard build momentous hype for their upcoming tour alongside Journey with the release of their brand new single 'Just Like 73'. Written in collaboration with Rage Against The Machine axeman Tom Morello, the banger comes complete with an absurd music video of computer generated de-aged models of the band and a parachuting Morello making their way to Earl's Court to perform for a massive crowd of adoring fans. Elaborating on the experience, the guitar guru stated - "I had a blast rocking a solo on 'Just Like 73.' I played 'Rock of Ages' in my college cover band almost 40 years ago and here Def Leppard are still killing it in stadiums with a brand-new tune that's one of their best." Pressed on limited 7" wax with an alternative version on the flip, the Leppard evidently still have plenty of sugar in the petrol tank.

Gett Off (9:38)
Review: From the grave, Prince is serving up a banger just in time for Christmas fun this year in the form of a one-sided 12" on Warner. It found him working with his trusty New Power Generation and features the 'damn near 10 min' mix of the song 'Gett Off' which is sure to fire up any dancefloor. It was originally a single - also served up as a one-sider - to promote Prince's new band with a cover that boldly declared that "Nothing can stop Prince and the New Power Generation" and was only issued on 1500 copies, so this is a great treat for fans to own all these years later.

The Groover (3:19)
Midnight (2:49)
Review: T Rex, and Mark Bolan, will forever be remembered as one of the all-time greatest British rock 'n' roll bands. Perhaps what's so remarkable is just how varied the outfit's output during their decade-long tenure as cult then chart-topping heroes, moving from the psychedelic folk movement into the heady world of glam rock as the 1960s drew to a close. Those who haven't explored their full back catalogue should do so as a matter of urgency. Tanx and Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow are two bonafide gems therein, both albums reflecting the broad influences that helped forge such a unique sound for the group. 'The Groover', and its B-side, 'Midnight', appeared on neither, released only as a standalone 1973 single, but have regularly been attached to special edition versions of those LPs. Now's the chance to own them in their original format.

Review: Marc Bolan's first single of 1972, 'Telegram Sam,' also marked the debut release on his T Rex Wax Co label. The song is a tribute to his manager, Tony Secunda, who played a crucial role in securing the label and substantial earnings for Bolan. Recorded in Copenhagen, 'Telegram Sam' is a taut rocker brimming with power and excitement, driven by one of Bolan's most insistent riffs. It served as the public's first taste of what would become T. Rex's next album, the masterful The Slider. The single topped the U.K. charts effortlessly. This reissue, released on a 7" picture disc featuring rare photos of Marc Bolan, captures the single's historic and musical significance, making it a valuable addition to the collections of glam aficionados everywhere.

Review: Demon Records continues its series of collectible 7" picture disc releases with T Rex's 1972 singles, showcasing photos from the Keith Morris archive. The standout track is the iconic 'Children Of The Revolution,' originally launched in September 1972. This song, one of Marc Bolan's most celebrated works, reached number 2 on the UK charts, where it remained for three weeks. 'Children Of The Revolution' has been reinterpreted by artists like Violent Femmes, The Scorpions, Kesha, and Bono for the film Moulin Rouge. Neither this track nor its B-sides, 'Jitterbug Love' and 'Sunken Rags,' were included on the Tanx album, released in March 1973. These new archive pictures add a tremendous collectability to this series.

Reg Tilsley - "Warlock" (3:19)
Roger Jackson - "Flashpoint" (2:33)
Review: 'Warlock' is the latest release to be pushed via Bob Stanley's Measured Mile imprint, and pulls two floor-friendly but still retrospective gems from the storied De Wolfe music library, based in the UK and widely known as the progenitor and originator of what has now become known widely as library music. To demonstrate the gestation times common to this corner of the music industry, these two tracks have never been heard before, and yet were recorded in 1983! First comes Reg Tilsley with 'Warlock', a full yet light-winged flight through linns of flute, funk bass and notes inegales. Meanwhile, 'Flashpoint' by Roger Jackson is a space-age tittup of booming, long-tailed proportions; it's tempered by the nagging nip of a clavichord and the formidable frown of the lowest piano note.

Review: This recording of the Philadelphia Orchestra performing Sergei Prokofiev's 1936 story and orchestral score Peter and the Wolf was recorded in 1977 and was originally released in 1978. The role of the narrator on the recording was initially offered to both Peter Ustinov and Alec Guinness who both turned it down, before David Bowie agreed to take on the role, supposedly as a Christmas present to his son. On the B-side is another equally as charming piece of recent classical history, Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra as narrated by Hugh Downs.

Review: This brilliant 1980 debut release by the The English Beat set them on course to become one of the most influential groups to emerge from the British Two Tone Ska movement. This album is wall-to-wall bangers and showcases some of their very best tunes, with earworm melodies encasing punchy and irreverent lyrics. Opening cut, 'I Confess' is a case in point: "Just out of spite / I confess I've ruined three lives / Now don't sleep so tight." Musically, The English Beat had style, substance and the ability to baffle and challenge their heroes. Guitarist Dave Wakeling stumped guitar heroes with his "Dad-Odd" guitar tuning. It's said that Pete Townshend phoned Wakeling up and said: "I'm sitting here with David Gilmour and we're having a bit of trouble finding your tuning for 'Save It for Later'." A superb endorsement for The English Beat, who grew up inspired by The Who and Floyd.

Review: It's fairly bold to call your album The Legendary Sessions but few could argue that this album certainly does capture some legendary sessions. They are previously unreleased recordings that stem from the iconic Jimi Hendrix and Traffic becoming friends in 1967. They were both innovates, both technical, and both progressive with what they did and that bares out across this fascinating album. It was captured between 1968 and 1970 and is full of freeform jams with atonal structures and shifting tempos as well as great complementary interplay between Jimi and Chris Wood.

Review: The chemistry between Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes, caught here live in AL in 1999, produces a dynamic performance that brings fresh life to classic rock anthems. Tracks like 'Celebration Day' and 'What Is & What Should Never Be' are delivered with incredible precision, each riff from Page cutting through the mix, while the Crowes' rhythm section provides a perfect backdrop. Chris Robinson's vocals are raw and commanding, particularly on 'Heartbreaker,' where he channels the energy of the original while adding his own emotive twist. The blues covers, like 'Sloppy Drunk' and 'Mellow Down Easy,' show off the band's versatility, giving a loose, electric vibe that contrasts beautifully with the more structured Zeppelin classics. A live performance that captures both the spirit of the originals and the fire of the setting.

Review: In October 1999, the Black Crowes joined Led Zeppelin's legendary guitarist Jimmy Page for shows in New York, Los Angeles, and Worcester, and that resulted in the live album Live at the Greek on TVT Records. Due to contractual issues with Columbia, however, the album didn't include any Crowes songs performed with Page. This collaboration led to a summer 2000 tour with Page and The Who and on July 10, 2000, they performed at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, New York, and served up what was considered one of the tour's standout shows. Featuring sixteen Led Zeppelin classics, Black Crowes tracks, and blues covers, this FM broadcast recording is a real must for fans of these rock icons.

Review: The 1999 collaboration between The Black Crowes and Jimmy Page delivers a rock experience that feels as monumental on record as it did in the live setting of the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. With a setlist stacked with Zeppelin classics like 'Celebration Day', 'Heartbreaker' and 'Whole Lotta Love', the performance sticks to the original arrangements, but it's the unexpected deep cuts like 'Sick Again' and 'Ten Years Gone' that resonate most. Page's guitar work is tight and focused, complemented by Chris Robinson's impassioned vocals, which channel the essence of Robert Plant while adding his own gravitas. The mix of Led Zeppelin anthems with the Crowes' blues-driven originals such as 'Shake Your Money Maker' and 'Mellow Down Easy' proves to be a potent combination and the recording captures an electric vitality, where the playing never feels overly polished but instead retains the raw power and spirit of a live jam session. A release where musical chemistry speaks louder than any reworking of the classics, reaffirming the timeless strength of these rock legends.

Review: Before Marc Bolan's untimely passing in 1977, T. Rex was a cultural whirlwind, an electric force that blurred the lines between glam rock and larger-than-life mythology. The band's influence during the early 70s reached levels that not only defined a generation but also cultivated the feverish phenomenon known as "Trextasy," rivaling even the mania of Beatlemania. Amid the hits that catapulted them into superstardom, hidden on the flipsides of their most famous singles, were some of Bolan's most vivid and unpredictable musical momentsitracks that now stand as an alternative narrative to the T. Rex story. This collection brings together 27 of these gems, charting a journey from the swaggering energy of 'Telegram Sam' to the reflective tones of 'Celebrate Summer.' These B-sides, often overlooked in favour of their A-side counterparts, show a different side to Bolan's genius. Many of these tracks, such as 'Cadillac,' 'Thunderwing,' and 'Lady,' could have easily stood on their own as hit singles, their impact only diminished by their position as B-sides. 'Born To Boogie' gets a newly discovered single mix, while 'Sunken Rags' offers an introspective side of Bolan that feels like a hidden treasure. The inclusion of Gloria Jones adds a fresh layer of soul to the proceedings, her voice a perfect foil to Bolan's otherworldly swagger. These tracks, strung together in one place, feel like an alternative history of T. Rex, highlighting the artistry that was often buried beneath the mainstream success. They not only reaffirm Bolan's stature as a visionary, but they also open up new pathways for the listener, offering an alternative lens through which to understand the full depth of his music.

Review: The Marc Bolan 'Songwriter' series has proven hugely successful and after the focus was on 1972 last time out, this time we jump another year back to 1971. This vinyl-only and intimate release shines a light on the private life of Bolan and how that altered his approach to songwriting. It was in 1972 that his band T-REx became chart-topping superstars and across the 19 tunes here are long versions of tunes like 'Hot Love' and 'Get It On' as well as plenty of b-sides, working versions and demos and a nearly 15-minute long acoustic demo of 'Children of Rarn.'

Review: Their latest release in the Marc Bolan Songwriter series, following on from the success of Songwriter: 1970 and Songwriter: 1971, Demon Records are introducing Songwriter: 1973 to their catalogue. An intimate, vinyl-only look into the influential artist's prolific output, Songwriter: 1971 delves into a period of change during which Bolan was more active than ever, recording music incessantly in recording studios in both the US and Europe - an era in which the distinctive T Rex sound was becoming increasingly limiting for the artist. Over the course of this in depth sixteen-track compilation, featuring a fascinating selection of finished recordings and working versions, this next chapter charts Bolan's attempts to develop and ultimately move away from the sound he had invented for himself.

Review: Demon Records celebrates the 50th anniversary of Marc Bolan and T Rex's Light Of Love with a special edition release. Originally a US-only album from late 1974, it first appeared on the Casablanca Records label. This edition honors its historical significance and offers a glimpse into Bolan's evolving artistry. Light Of Love features eight tracks recorded in the US, initially intended for the band's 1975 UK album Bolan's Zip Gun. To cater to the American market, Bolan included three tracks from the yet-to-be-released Zinc Alloy album: 'Teenage Dream,' 'Explosive Mouth,' and 'Venus Loon.' Among the new tracks is 'Till Dawn,' notable for being Bolan's final collaboration with Tony Visconti, who provided a lush string arrangement. This anniversary edition is pressed on 140-gram orange vinyl and it comes in the original sleeve design, accompanied by a new inner sleeve. Light Of Love exemplifies Bolan's blend of glam rock and inventive musicality, offering a nostalgic yet fresh listening experience.

Review: Once again, Vinyl Me, Please respond only to music fans' demand - it's their business model - in reissuing this long beloved T. Rex record. Their self-titled debut glam rock kickoff, entitled T. Rex, was the only record to feature both Marc Bolan and percussionist Mickey Finn centre stage (hence the two-figure album cover) as a duo, before Steve Currie and Bill Legend would join in 1971, making the outfit a foursome despite Bolan's predominance. Not as renowned as Electric Warrior or The Slider in the grand scheme, T. Rex nonetheless brought the band chart and commercial success, following a two-year comeup; this almost certainly resulted from its sophisticated, avant-blues pop sound and distinctive hyena vocals from Bolan, though Finn's percussions show remarkable restraint too. Add to this a dash of incredible electric rock stereo mixing; a pin-rolling of shock-rocky, flaired style; and a lengthy marinading in sex appeal; and voila, you've an unstoppable career.

Review: Released in May 1972, Bolan Boogie is a pivotal compilation album by T. Rex, capturing the height of T. Rextasy. Following Marc Bolan's departure from Fly Records to form his own label, this album was released by Fly as a collection of recent single A- and B-sides from 1970 and 1971, many of which had not appeared on previous albums. The compilation also includes tracks from the albums Unicorn (1969), A Beard of Stars (1970), and T. Rex (1970). With T. Rex at the peak of their popularity, Bolan Boogie quickly soared to number one on the UK Albums Chart, spending three weeks at the topimarking Bolan's last album to achieve this feat. The tracklist features some of Bolan's most iconic work, including 'Get It On,' 'Ride a White Swan,' and 'Hot Love.' This reissued 2xCD edition offers fans a chance to relive the glam rock magic of T. Rex during one of the most influential periods in the band's history, solidifying Marc Bolan's legacy as a cornerstone of the genre.

Review: On limited edition translucent red vinyl comes T Rex's The Slider LP, the then mad-hatted rock maven's seventh and most celebrated album. Known not only for its production by studio legend Tony Visconti, but also for its two lead singles 'Telegram Sam' and 'Metal Guru', The Slider is perhaps one of the best-skimmed creams of the 70s' glam rock era. The Slider caught the peak of what was soon to be dubbed "Bolanmania" and/or "T. Rextacy", owing to Bolan's then almost messianic onstage presence and fan fervour. 'Metal Guru', for example, takes after Bolan's invocation of a sort of rock musical "godhead" in his songwriting sessions; a demiurgic guru whose power compels him to loneliness despite the glamour. The record is also noted for its harder tone than his earlier records like Electric Warrior, with the likes of 'Buick MacKane' and 'Chariot Choogle' earning the cheeky label "Zep Rex", in reference to the zippier among his songs.

Review: This record from 1973 was T. Rex's their eighth since debuting as Tyrannosaurus Rex in 1968 and fourth under the T. Rex name. It was produced by Tony Visconti during the height of Bolanmania era and marked a shift in Marc Bolan's style by blending soul, funk and gospel influences alongside tracks reminiscent of The Slider. Highlights include 'Tenement Lady,' 'Bolan Boogie' and 'Mad Donna' and for this special edition, the cover art has been recreated by John Kosh, the original designer and former Apple Records creative director.

Review: Bolan Boogie is often considered one of the best compilations of T Rex's work and, for many, it feels like a main sequence album. Released in 1972, this collection of 14 tracks brilliantly captures the transition from Tyrannosaurus Rex to T. Rex, offering both new listeners and long-time fans a comprehensive introduction to Marc Bolan's genius. From the mythical beauty of 'She Was Born to Be My Unicorn' to the electrifying power of 'Jewel,' every song on this album has a lasting impact. Tracks like 'Woodland Rock' and 'Raw Ramp' show the band's ability to merge rock with imaginative, almost otherworldly lyrics. 'Get It On,' one of Bolan's most popular songs, still sends shivers down the spine with its iconic riff, while 'Hot Love' captures the carefree spirit of T. Rex at their peak. Bolan Boogie is more than just a compilation; it's a journey through some of the most creative and memorable moments in T. Rex's history. For those looking to explore Marc Bolan's world, this album is an essential listen. Now available on 2x12 vinyl, it's a timeless celebration of a rock legend.

Review: Erik Tagg's Rendez Vous (1976) is pure seventies soft rock with a touch of jazz fusion, creating a rich, melodic experience. As his second solo effort, it showcases Tagg's evolution from his earlier work with Dutch bands Beehive and Rainbow Train. Produced by Hans Vermeulen, the album is a masterclass in intricate harmonies and sophisticated arrangements, all underscored by Tagg's warm, resonant vocals. Tracks like 'Life Goes On' highlight Tagg's ability to infuse soul-searching lyrics with a smooth, soothing delivery, creating a sound that is both introspective and comforting. The album's lush instrumentation, blending elements of jazz, pop and rhythm & blues, evokes a sense of romantic escapism, making it a hidden gem of the AOR and modern soul genres. Though it didn't achieve mainstream success, Rendez Vous developed a cult following, appreciated for its nostalgic and warm vibes.

Review: Dudu Tassa's homage to his grandfather and the Al Kuwaiti Brothers, Dudu Tassa and the Kuwaitis, is a poignant and respectful revival of Iraqi musical heritage. Despite the family's forced migration to Israel, Tassa refuses to let their legacy fade into obscurity. Instead, he infuses their traditional melodies with his own rock sensibility, preserving their oud-driven dignity while injecting a contemporary energy. Tracks like 'Lo Thareeb Ana Wethroch' showcase Tassa's bold reinterpretation, blending speed and guitar burn with reverence for the original compositions. Importantly, he doesn't seek to erase or overshadow their Iraqi identity with Israeli influences but rather embraces and celebrates their cultural heritage. As one of Israel's prominent rock stars, Tassa's dedication to honoring his family's musical legacy has garnered international recognition, including performances at Coachella and tours with Radiohead. This reimagined album, featuring a live bonus track with Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead/The Smile, serves as a powerful example to the enduring influence of the Al Kuwaiti Brothers on contemporary music.

Though we seem to have had most pandemic music pass through by now, this album is one that harks back to that time, as well as drawing on Taylor's prostate cancer diagnosis which meant he couldn't attend his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of Duran Duran. Despite those sad circumstances the album is one of joy and hope, with uplifting songs marking some of the best of his solo career.

Review: Preceded by a single of the same name last year, The Tipping Point marks the return of one of the most inventive pop groups to ever do it. In the 1980s, Tears For Fears expanded the possibilities of what a commercial song could be with sophisticated songwriting, unabashed bombast, unexpected curveballs and jaw-dropping hooks. Given the influence they've had, they might not sound so revolutionary amongst the generations of pop acts who have followed their lead, but they return vital and full of purpose. Embracing new sonics but staying true to the songwriting as the central focus of the Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal's project, it's a triumphant return from a truly seminal group.

Review: Tears For Fears return with Songs For A Nervous Planet, their first-ever live album. Spanning their career, it includes classics like 'Shout', 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', 'Mad World', and 'Head Over Heels', as well as several tracks from their 2022 album, The Tipping Point. The album also features four new studio songs, including the lead single, 'The Girl That I Call Home'. Written by Roland Orzabal as a love song for his wife Emily, the track blends dreamy synths, soft drums, and tender vocals, showcasing the band's warmth and emotional depth. Curt Smith remarked, "Many don't realize we're a strong live band," while Orzabal noted, "This album is 40 years in the making."

Review: An absolute delight for Tears For Fears fans, this archival radio broadcast showcases the Bath band at the peak of their powers during a U.S tour in 1990. As was the fashion for decades, the concert - in Santa Barbara Bowl in California - was recorded for, and broadcast by, local radio station KROQ. It offers a snapshot of the outfit's career up to that point, flitting between evocative versions of genuine classics ('Head Over Heels/Broken', 'Mad World'), fan favourites ('Advice For The Young at Heart', 'Famous Last Words'), insopired covers (a storming run through of 'When The Saints Go Marching In', a loved-up interpretation of Beatles classic 'All You Need Is Love'), and extended versions of the band's most inspiring moments ('Everybody Wants To The Rule', 'Shout').

Review: The difficult second from Senior Templeman takes his short but pretty sweet back catalogue in a bold new direction. Acid pop? Maybe. Theatrical soft rock? Possibly. Something else entirely? Definitely. Shades of glam guitar cool? For sure. All that's by the byes though, really - we could spend a lifetime splitting hairs about genre and still not quite hit the nail on the head. Featuring production from the legendary Nile Rodgers, super-cool Karma Kid, Oscar Scheller, Will Bloomfield, Justin Young, Josh Scarbrow and Charlie J Perry, this is a restless but rewarding listen, rarely hanging around in one stylistic place before moving on to another. What's remarkable about this soul-inflected, funk-fuelled, psychedelic hued odyssey, though, is just how natural the whole thing feels.

Review: Ten Years After's legendary performance at Woodstock in August 1969 remains a pinnacle moment in rock history, hailed as one of the festival's standout acts. Now, their complete hour-long concert, previously only part of larger compilations, is set for standalone release, one day before the 55th anniversary of their historic show. Led by guitarist Alvin Lee, the British blues rock band delivered an electrifying set featuring classics like Howlin' Wolf's 'Spoonful,' Sonny Boy Williamson's 'Good Morning Little Schoolgirl,' and the expansive 'I Can't Keep From Crying Sometimes,' clocking in at 18 minutes. The set's climax, 'I'm Going Home,' a Lee original, cemented their place in Woodstock lore with its powerful performance captured in the iconic Woodstock documentary. Remastered from the original two-inch multitrack tapes, Woodstock 1969 offers a fresh mix of Ten Years After's raw energy and virtuosity, presented on a double 180-gram vinyl pressing in a gatefold sleeve, accompanied by new liner notes by Chris Welch. This release commemorates a defining moment for the band and a milestone in rock music history.

Review: Marking their first release since 2011's Super Delux, We Are Not Robots shows the band's signature raucous and eclectic style. The record opens with the punk-edged anthems 'Electrocuted' and 'The Night That Lemmy Died,' transitions to the foot-stomping pop-rock of 'Daydream,' and culminates in the singalong joy of 'Opposites Attract.' Each track reaffirms their legendary status and sets the stage for their explosive live shows. Wright's lyrics honour bands that forge their own path, reflecting Terrorvision's commitment to authentic rock. Formed in Bradford in 1988, Terrorvision's career has been marked by milestones like supporting The Ramones and Motorhead and opening for Def Leppard, not to mention commercial success with hits like 'My House,' 'Perseverance,' and 'Tequila.' After a hiatus, the band reunited periodically, culminating in their 25th-anniversary tour. We Are Not Robots, produced by Rick McNamara and mixed by Chris Sheldon, promises a 37-minute blend of pop hooks and hard rock. This album is sure to show off their ability to rock and entertain fans old and new.

Review: Acoustic Sessions marks the first Thin Lizzy album of unheard material in over 40 years, offering re-imagined acoustic versions of songs from their first three albums. This project is a unique fusion of the band's legacy with fresh acoustic interpretations that feature newly recorded guitar parts from original member Eric Bell and previously unheard vocals from the late Phil Lynott. Tracks like 'Whisky in the Jar'. 'Eire' and 'Mama Nature Said' are stripped back to showcase their lyrical and melodic strengths, while highlighting the group's songwriting roots. In an effort to capture the aura of their early recordings, Bell replays acoustic guitar parts he originally wrote for songs like 'Eire', using the same 12-string acoustic that defined the song's foundation. Paired with Brian Downey's original drum lines and Lynott's distinct vocals, Acoustic Sessions is both a tribute and a fresh look at the band's early work.

Review: Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak, released in 1976, emerged at a pivotal moment in rock history, bridging the gap between the fading giants of 60s rock and the rising stars of the heavier, more rebellious 70s. While bands like The Who and Led Zeppelin were beginning to feel dated, Jailbreak injected new life into rock, laying the groundwork for both heavy metal and punk. The album became Thin Lizzy's breakthrough in America, climbing to number 18 on the Billboard charts and breaking into the top ten in the UK. Tracks like 'Warriors' and 'Emerald' showcased the band's ferocity, while 'Fight or Fall' offered a quieter, reflective anthem. The title track, ''Jailbreak,' with its iconic riff and rebellious spirit, remains a classic. Jailbreak isn't just an album; it's a cultural touchstone, forever linked to moments of youthful rebellion and camaraderie. The band's no-nonsense approach to rock, led by the magnetic Phil Lynott, created a lasting influence that still resonates in the music of today's rock and metal bands. Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak stands as a timeless, powerful album that truly exudes the spirit of rock 'n' roll.

Review: Johnny the Fox, Thin Lizzy's seventh studio album from 1976, followed the creative and commercial high point of Jailbreak, but it does stand out as a unique and compelling work in its own right. The band's evolving artistry is on full display here, maintaining Thin Lizzy's signature thunderous sound and Phil Lynott's soulful, poetic songwriting while exploring new, sometimes theatrical, directions. Tracks like 'Don't Believe a Word' and 'Borderline' highlight the album's strengths, delivering the electrifying performances that fans love. Despite its occasional narrative ambiguity and elliptical musical moments, Johnny the Fox captivates with its laid-back yet tight execution. The band's performance is confident without being overbearing, and the recording quality is superb, offering a natural, honest sound that feels both effortless and powerful. It may not be Thin Lizzy's most famous album, but it's a vital piece of their catalogue, reflecting the band's versatility and solidifying their status as one of Dublin's greatest musical exports.

Praised by fans for its exceptional production with ludicrously bombastic percussion the whole way through, the project saw a sonic retracing of their more hardened edges, so as not to lose sight of their creative prowess. That being said, cuts such as the cheerful 'Easy Street' and epic ballad 'Lionheart' seem like they were purposefully designed to keep snooting record label execs off their proverbial backs. Never mind what glassy eyed nostalgia-baters say, Realized Fantasies goes hard as hell while delivering barrages of riffage, melody and playfully epic grandeur.

If you don't remember the name you will remember the music as they topped charts and got heavy TV play, not least for most notable single 'I Wish You Would'. All in all this is an album of heartwarming and emotional indie pop niceness you're likely to fall head over heels for again, hence the fact it has been covered by innumerable stars since its initial release. In many ways, once you know the story the track takes on a very different form - far less amorous and much more about longing and lamentation. This latest reissue comes in red and black marble vinyl.

Review: Those hoping the latest record from Sofi Tukker was a reworking of the score to the Liverpool-set, mid-1980s British sitcom, Bread, will find themselves coming up short here. In contrast, those who were expecting this to be the difficult third studio LP from Portugal's most in-demand festival darlings and electronic-pop crossover stars are very much in the right place. Not so much an acquired taste, but certainly upbeat and accessible enough to put chin-strokers off, on record number three Tukker seem to distill a wealth of dance styles into what is ostensibly a carnival of a release. 'Perfect Someone' opts for soul and jazz house, veterans might pick up on 'Spiral' giving (perhaps an accidental) nod to late-1990s trance anthem 'The Orange Theme' mixed with girl band bubble gum, 'Woof' almost feels like a Mr Scruff production, and 'Guardian Angel' serves sunset at an Ibiza restaurant.

Review: Originally released in 1984 and celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Stay Hungry would serve as the third full-length from glam metal icons Twisted Sister. Certified triple Platinum in the US with over three million copies sold, the record is widely considered to be the crown jewel in the band's gaudy, opalescent crown while boasting their two biggest hits in the form of 'We're Not Gonna Take It' and 'I Wanna Rock'. Fully remastered in a new gatefold sleeve on translucent blood red vinyl, this anniversary edition comes complete with a bonus LP made up of a previously unreleased live album captured during the Stay Hungry tour in San Bernadino, California in 1984.

Review: Jules Buckley can do absolutely no wrong in our eyes. The conductor responsible for leading the globally revered Heritage Orchestra has made a name for himself experimenting with the limits and limitless potential of classical music, taking influences from the world of dance and club tunes to open up orchestral performances to new demographics and generations.

He also has the honour of heading up the BBC Symphony Orchestra at select performances, another of the world's finest ensembles. This is just one recording from one of those shows, but clearly proves there's genius at work. The same could be said for Paul Weller, the iconic UK guitarist and singer who here invites said players to rethink tracks from his back catalogue for a staggering 75-minute set that elevates the rocker's oeuvre to greater heights than ever before.
