Review: Satya deals in a certain brand of deep house that is dreamy and organic. It's perfect for the cosier dancefloors out there, the more heady crowds who don't need big drops and samples to get their musical thrills. If you are one of those people then get your ears around this superb new various artists 12". YokoO & Zone+ offer one of the standouts with 'Once I Had It"]' which pairs subtly swirling pads with cuddly deep drum loops. Hermanez has his kickstand with a little more weight but they are no less hypnotic, while Moya (US) brings some enchanting strings and yawning vocals to 'Meliora' and Electricano keeps it nice and warm and liquid with the supple loops of 'Universal Language.'

Review: Curtea Veche's LTD series returns with a heavyweight collaboration from west coast house pioneers Hipp-E and Halo Varga, better known as H-Foundation. Their early 00s productions helped define a distinct, groove-laden style that still reverberates in today's underground house scene. This latest release sees them tap into that timeless sound, delivering an EP that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Opening with 'Believe,' H-Foundation remind us of their signature deep, rolling basslines and hypnotic rhythms. It's a track built for those long, early morning hours when the energy on the dancefloor hits a special kind of intensity. Arno x DJ Dope take things into even deeper territory with their 'Believe In Me Rhythm Dub,' stripping back the original and adding a dubby, percussive twist that's impossible to ignore. On the flip side, 'Journey' takes a more expansive approach. Warm pads and bubbling basslines gradually unfold, inviting the listener into a lush soundscape. Dana Ruh's remix of 'Journey' retains that dreamy vibe but infuses it with her trademark minimalistic touch. It's a subtle yet powerful rework, full of intricate details that will stand out to those paying attention. This EP captures the essence of west coast house, while the remixes ensure it resonates with today's selectors, making it a must-have for DJs looking to bring a bit of history into their sets.

Review: Zurich's Project Indigo imprint has admirable aims, with the proceeds from the sales of all its singles going to reforestation initiatives around the world. It helps, of course, that the material they release is usually on-point and undeniably enjoyable. That's certainly the case with this four-tracker, a label-debut from rising star Hame. The producer's previous releases have frequently blurred the boundaries between electronic and acoustic sounds, as well as tech-house, deep house and more besides. There's a similar approach here, with the spacey, loose-limbed deep tech-house dreaminess of 'Everyday' being joined by the ethereal deep house melancholia of 'Hope', the enveloping, lo-fi electro beauty of 'Lo-Fi' and the bona fide early morning deep dancefloor hypnotism of 'Stick Together'.

Review: Oslo-based Det Gode Selskab, like many labels from the Scandi-region, has its own distinctive take on house - it's lush, melody-rich and cosmic with plenty of dynamic drum work. Berlin-based Norwegian Henriku is next up to bring his own sounds into their world, and this atmospheric house and minimal exploration is hella impressive. 'I Do' works the floor into a steamy and hot house lather, 'Rush Fantasy' then gets a little twisted and freaky for later in the night and 'Pillow Talk' leans into a dusty Detroit house vibe. 'Nicotine 4 U' might be the best of the lot - a fluid bit of afterparty house with irresistible drums and warped neon lines.

Review: After a decade-long break, Herbert returns with 'Part 9', a continuation of his influential Parts series that has been a cornerstone of leftfield house music since Part One debuted nearly 30 years ago. This release marks the beginning of a renewed focus on Herbert's innovative sound, with 'Part 10' scheduled for later this year and a new album expected early next year. Part 9 introduces collaborations with Momoko Gill, known for her work with artists like Tirzah and Coby Sey. The EP kicks off with 'Fallen,' where Gill's vocals meld with Herbert's minimalist, 90s-inspired production, creating a track that's both haunting and deeply rhythmic. 'Find Me' strips things down with an instrumental that showcases Herbert's skill in blending subtle grooves with engaging beats. The release closes with 'Curt,' a track that feels like a nod to Herbert's roots, fusing minimal elements with house vibes that are both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

Review: Herbert's most recent album, the return-to-his-deep-house-roots treat that was Musca, has been given the remix treatment for Record Store Day 2023. It's a predictably impressive package, with Floating Points - delivering a 15-minute trip into glitchy micro-house territory in fine fashion - naturally taking top billing. His remix - kind of like a minimalist take on his own early house excursions, with added early morning weirdness - is far from the only treat on show though. Seven Davis Jr delivers a rubbery, loose-limbed and quietly funky tweak of 'Might As Well Be Magical', before Herbert steps up with his 'Greenery Dub' of 'Fantasy', a slow-burn, near 10-minute affair that recalls the oddball brilliance of his turn-of-the-millennium house releases.

Review: Priku is the acclaimed Romanian DJ and producer also known as Adrian Niculae and here he brings his signature deep, minimalistic soundscapes to the forefront with an exceptional remix of 'Mayon,' the first track of the first EP on the new Menikmati label. Homebase is behind the original which is a deft and intricately assembled minimal sound with thudding kicks and glitchy hits next to ghoulish vocal sounds. 'Layton' shuts down with a more airy mix of heady synths and dusty drum loops that get your head up and your ass moving.

Review: Hostom is both an artistic moniker and a record label, controlled by producer and mastering engineer Varhat Veliere, acting under the aegis of their very own distribution company, based in France. Veliere has kept the Hostom arm of their craft since 2015, dropping myriad creative works centring on weirdo atmospheric house. This latest, seventh edition to the imprint hears just four new untitled ones hit the worthy shelves and all of them are unusually serene, off-guard-catching forays into unseen psychedelic worlds, whether evoked simply by the weird, wondrous and bubbly sounds heard throughout; or literally narrated by pop-psychedelic guru Terence McKenna (Track 3).

Review: Mole Music branches out for the first time to vinyl here and shows it has a great wealth of talent to call on with a various artists' EP that is presumably the start of a new series. Holy Guacamole Vol 1 kicks off with JHNS keeping it deep and lively with 'Nevermind' while Steve End and Colau hook up for 'Back Spin' and lay down some magnificent drum loops that are silky and infectious. El Funkador's 'Shame' brings some 90s New York vibes with lovely snare sounds and warm bursts of chords. On the flipside, Alben & Laje & Errat, Hot DLVRY and Craftsmanship all cook up more fresh fusions of old and new school house.

Review: Brit producer Anish Kumar and Hagop Tchaparian, former guitarist with indie hopefuls Sympoisum, unite on a two-part exploration of electronic sound. 'Part 1' unfurls gently with minimal percussion and ambient field recordings, creating a spacious atmosphere that builds in subtle intensity. 'Part 2' shifts gears, introducing deeper basslines and more driving rhythms, blending organic sounds with electronic textures to evoke a sense of movement and place. The result is an introspective, evolving soundscape that invites repeat listens, revealing layers with each spins.

Review: This compilation is a sonic tapestry woven from the threads of diverse electronic soundscapes, each track carefully crafted to evoke the liminal space between dreams and reality. It's an invitation to immerse oneself in a world of intricate textures, hypnotic rhythms, and evocative melodies, where the boundaries between genres blur and the music takes on a life of its own. Jonny Rock's 'Legenda' sets the tone with its purposeful groove, its driving energy balanced by a sense of introspective depth. Thanksmate's 'Take A Chance' adds a meditative touch, its gentle melodies and atmospheric textures inviting contemplation and reflection. Dobao's 'Oceano' plunges into a deep, liquid dimension, its swirling synths and hypnotic rhythms creating a sense of weightless immersion. Giammarco Orsini's 'Whirlwind' picks up the pace, its pulsating energy and infectious groove propelling the listener forward. Hiver's 'The Frontier' explores the tension and release of electronic landscapes, its dynamic shifts and evolving textures keeping the listener on the edge of their seat. Sam Goku's 'Lucid Oscillation' closes the compilation with a sense of ethereal beauty, its airy melodies and floating notes leaving a lingering sense of wonder.

Review: After a near two-year break, the shadowy CUE Point label - an imprint based in Valencia, Spain - returns to stores. To reintroduce itself, the imprint has decided to offer-up a multi-artist EP featuring cuts from new signings, old heads and friends of the label. Pad Union kicks things off with the deep, dusty and gently jazzy 'Holodnaya Para' - all rich Rhodes chords, languid bass guitar and crunchy drum machine beats - before storied producer ScruScru joins forces with Guydee on the acid-fired, funk bass-propelled house bounce of 'Nesting Down'. Over on side T, Negroove's ghostly, slipped tech-house jam 'Smoked Jazz' (a track blessed with Villalobos-influenced percussion programming) is paired with EP highlight 'Grisha (Soe)', a chunky and organ-rich slab of peak-time tech-house by label regular Heavenchord.

Review: French label Cairo Xpress debuts with a first-ever vinyl outing and a fine one it is too, with six stylish house outings from an array of fresh talents. Wilt's 'Beoyon' has lovely gloppy drums and bass looping under harmonic chords - it's simple but effective. Hermit gets more full-bodied with his textured 'Who Dunnit' and DOTT strips it back to bumping drum track workouts on 'Twitching Softly.' There is more irresistible bounce to Lucho's 'Mesh', Artphorm layers in some old school pianos to 'Daown' and HATT D shuts down with maybe the best of the lot, 'Contrasts In Life,' which is a broken beat, analogue sound with celestial energy.
