Review: Destiny Angel a magical track way ahead of its time. Now out again with a new master sounding more deeper than before, full of Drums , bass and high frequency evolving Chords. Fast and heavy. b1 Bleeps and Bits is a bass driven groove with shuffling house beats morphing along to electric sounds and effects b2 Just Tonight - Raw deep stripped down Beats and baseline with a a gentle vocal for those big sound systems . Great track for the late night Djs and groovers

10 YRS RMX EP2 (Markus SuckuT, BNJMN, Aubrey, Tripeo mixes)
  1. AWOL - "54 973379, -1 614705" (Markus Suckut remix)
  2. Artefakt - "Wanderings" (BNJMN remix)
  3. Luke Hess - "TDY" (Aubrey remix)
  4. Deep'a & Biri - "Pilgrim" (Tripeo Journey mix)
Review: The Newcastle born, London based label Jaunt serves ups a second part of its remixes series to mark ten years in action. After Inland, Jonas Kopp, Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff and Gian appeared on the first instalment, now come Tripeo, Aubrey, BNJMN and Markus Suckut with a versatile pack of techno quality.

Techno mainstay Suckut goes first with a big, bouncy version of AWOL's 54 973379, -1 614705 that is laced with uplifting piano chords. Inventive melodic master BNJMN then slips into dance floor mode with his tunnelling and deep remix of Artefakt's Wanderings. It is a hypnotic track that never lets up and then Aubrey reworks Luke Hess's TDY into a mind melting affair with looping, glowing styling lines spraying about over high pressure and urgent drums. Last of all, Tripeo reimagines Deep'a & Biri - Pilgrim into a punchy, hard hitting track with raw percussion and supersized drums that will rock even the biggest warehouse. This is high functioning techno in a range of equally compelling styles and marks another vital EP from Jaunt.

  2. Hiver - "Itria" (Jonas Kopp remix)
  3. Kaelan - "Meandering Rivers" (Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff remix)
  4. Stojche - "The Exchange" (Gian Hydrocity Refix)
Review: Newcastle via London label Jaunt Records revisits its 10 year anniversary EP from 2017 with a series of great remixes by Inland, Jonas Kopp, Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff and Stojche. This is the first of two EPs planned, and it offers up a timeless mix of heady techno and slick electro.
Berlin based Brit Inland tackles Jaunt resident Blackhall & Bookless's 'Spirit' and serves up a heavyweight wedge of warehouse techno. On the same side, Jonas Kopp flips 'Itria' into a sci-fi tinged bit of dub techno and long time studio partners Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff from Indigo Aera offer widescreen synth work and blissed out pads all tethered to rolling and rubbery drums. Stojche's take on Gian's track is a fantastically crisp and futurist piece of electro that will get anyone on their toes. This is a classy EP that showcases the sort of sounds you will hear on any Jaunt dance floor.

Review: Sound design masters Benjamin Brunn and Dave Wheels of the Workshop fame team up with the iconic Berlin based Sushitech for a beautiful double 12" LP release.

"2000" is an electronic masterpiece, lush melodies, dubby rhythms and some mesmerising synth lines that we can all recognise from previous milestone Benjamin Brunn releases such as Song From The Beehive that was already released a decade ago together with Move D.

This 2x12" with 8 full length tracks packed in a gatefold sleeve makes a beautiful pack that is a simply must have for any serious vinyl collector - BIG!

Review: On the A1 Chekov follows up their moves on Peach Discs and Timedance with a proper peak timer, they've been described by Ben UFO as 'king of the build up' and that's evident on this one. At the A2 London's Doppelate makes their Cong Burn debut with an elegant tech-house roller. Fresh from Russia's underground is Camin, on this, his debut 12" release he drops a useful tool which squeezes between electro and techno. Cong Burn founder Howes closes the B side with some warm hypnosis that could have landed in the golden era of Workshop.

Review: Mike 'Agent X' Clark is a true hero of the Detroit scene, but he rarely gets the props he deserves, making any outing of his a cause for celebration. El Provost's No Speakers label knows what's up, and they've drafted in Clark for his killer jam "The Heat." The name is no foil, this track will set any party ablaze with its distinctive speech sample and saucy rhythm section. Alongside the original, there is a strong cast of remixers on hand to serve up deadly variations, from the label boss' skipping, psyched-out groover to Ben Sims' appropriately thumping techno workout. Peter Rocket especially impresses with a crafty breaks version that should slot in nicely with the resurgent electro scene.

Review: The sixth installment on Malin Genie's self-titled label welcomes Will & Ink resident Yaleesa Hall into the fold. Regular collaborators Malin and Yaleesa have turned out plenty of joint 12"s in the past on Will & Ink and this very label, and they sound more comfortable and sonically aligned than ever on this mighty record. There's no messing with "Alpha Decay," a loose and lysergic dubby techno workout. "Tachyon" orbits a similar soundworld, but shears the fat away for a minimal palette that sounds powerful echoing around the ample space in the mix. "Muck" slips into freaky after hours house territory, and "Stocha" drops a massive Basic Channel dub techno chord around a whisper of a beat to devastating effect.

This special 10" holds two sought after tracks that were found on a lost DAT tape by Yossi Amoyal and Gary Martin himself. On the A side we have a long time secret weapon, it's a hypnotic groove that was heard on many classic sets, Zip and Ben Klock to name a few. Review: Underground techno fave Path Records is kicking off 2019 with a repress of its highly sought-after first release which came out way back in 1999. The excellent 'Why 2K' EP, a gorgeous piece of techno from Fate 258 a.k.a. label boss Reade Truth, remains a staple on the world's most underground dancefloors and has been widely regarded as a digger's trophy.

Reade Truth, an offspring from New York's Sonic Groove, has been spreading the message of electronic music since its beginnings. He has continuously released high quality techno on many seminal labels including Planet E, NSyde, and his recent album on Cartulis Music.

Path Records is known for their uniquely deep electronic visions. With a steady mixture of both new material and old unreleased tracks, the label remains hotly anticipated. Review: Silent Season is proud to present Segue's third full-length LP with the label. On his new album, Jordan Sauer explores a new facet of West Canadian natural history. Four thousand years ago, Western Canada's First Nations people migrated into the fjords and rainforests carved out by the retreating glaciation of the last Ice Age. The Island is a tribute to Canada's prehistory and the spiritual journey of a people entering a forever- altered landscape to call their home.

While Segue's last album very much explored a cross section journey of British Columbia from the mountains to the sea, The Island explores the hidden coastlines and inlets that pepper a still- mysterious landscape.

Throughout the album, each song spreads out beautifully as a reflection of the place or thing it's named after and paints a stunning portrait of BC's natural wealth. At first glance it seems like a tourist's guide, but when you listen deeper, The Island blossoms into something deeply personal and moving- a sonic imprint of places in relation to culture. One listen will put you right in the rainforests and mountains that the Coast Salish has called their home.

Review: The next logical step in the Chronicle catalog sidesteps the typical press-artist relationship and comes to us straight from the (un)known. A record that is as compellingly clandestine as it is forceful, it wastes no time securing a slot next to some of the most enigmatic ""Unknown Artists"" of our time, which count some of the most prestigious artists out there among them.

Upon hearing the music, identity becomes irrelevant. The typical rough and booming kicks have been replaced here with something more streamlined and tactful. A certain eerieness permeates throughout the entire body of work, gently hypnotizing us into a cadenced submission. A record for moments of phantasmal bliss within times of uncertainty.

  1. X To C

Review: Robin Ball's Memory Box builds on the success of early releases with a big new outing that features two of his own tracks and one from the legendary Luke Vibert. Memory Box is a party that has hosted Derrick Carer, Trevino and A Guy Called Gerald among others, and is a place to hear proper acid house. Ball himself is a master of the genre and most often released on his own Groovepressure label, having been making music since his teens. Now his latest labour of love is once again reaffirming his status as a vital voice in the UK scene. Luke Vibert has a rich history that makes him a key part of the UK's dance counterculture over the last 30 years. His always animated music is wild and inventive and comes on greats like Mo Wax, Warp and Planet Mu. Here he offers 'X to C', a wild melange of warped synth tones, grizzled basslines & acid flashes. It will twist and turn the dance floor inside out. Robin Ball's excellent 'Gripper' is a corrugated bit of electric house music that never sits still. Pensive pads in the background are offset by a busy lead synth line and old school stabs that make it a perfectly timeless, energetic fusion of moods and grooves. Lastly, Ball serves up 'The Edge,' a brilliantly brash cut with stepping acid sequences, raw drum work and warped bass that distills decades of UK music into one essential track. These are three devastating club cuts that expertly draw on the past, present and future of acid.
