Review: Stochastic Resonance come through correct with their sixth instalment of the series, this time bringing together the talents of Akamoi, Ynaktera, Cosmonauta, Mariano, Ghostphace and Scual for a proper stirring of the senses on this noisy, drone-laden beat of an EP. Akamoi starts with furious swells on morphing feedback soundscapes, while Ynaktera goes for a pixelated sample workout recalling Pan's Jar Moff. Mariano's "Mysterious Ways" sets the dance tempo, amalgamating a twisted, slightly off beat pattern with bleeps and stabs and "Rome Boredom" by Ghostphace is another special moment - quick, psychotic synths fall into an absolutely terrifying ocean of distortion and satanic noise infusions. What a blinder!

Review: Ed DMX's Fresh Up imprint enlist seminal French disco act Black Devil Disco Club and Yellow Peril Disco Group for this double drop of delightful weirdo disco - think a love of vintage synths, curious Italian synth-soundtracks, Radiophonic Workshop noises and tongue-in-cheek disco-campery. A-Side "Max Stroke" sounds like the theme tune to some long-lost 1970s sci-fi series - British and low budget, of course - whilst "Bamboo Disco" is an effortlessly cheeky fusion of Tomorrow's World synths, quirky Far East-inspired melodies and vocoder shout-outs. It's very silly, but also rather endearing.

Review: Since delivering their first EP of clandestine techno workouts last year, Berlin duo I/Y has remained relatively tight-lipped. They rather matter-of-factly describe their style as "machine music for sensible people". It's arguably an apt description; there's certainly something mature about the material on this split EP. There's some particularly cultured experimentation in the shape of Schloss Mirabell's "With Powdering Fingers Of A Nothing", which spookily cuts up classical strings and tispy electronics with spellbinding results. Elsewhere, the dancefloor focus is more pronounced, with I/Y themselves delivering the murky, metallic funk of "Moments" and Voiski impressing with the surging, melody-rich loop techo of "Draw Back Your Bow".

Review: Straight out of Toronto's fast rising electronic underground comes Parallel Minds, a fresh imprint dedicated to releasing "progressive electronic music" from the Canadian city. This debut release boasts cuts from the imprint's three founders Ciel, Yohei S and Daniel 58, as well as guest artist Radiant Aura Faculty. There's much to admire throughout, from the dubby sub-bass, bouncy Afro-house drums and clonking electronics of Yohei S' "Eastern Rankin", to the chiming dub house/dusty deep house fusion of Daniel 58's warm-but-robotic "Space Bubble". Sweatier, rave-inspired breakbeat antics are provided via the loved-up vocal samples and low-end weightiness of Radiant Aura Faculty's "Mana Sadhana", while Ciel's "Hind Sight Is 360" gets just the right balance between driving machine beats, glassy-eyed intent and dreamy, head-in-the-clouds electronics.

Review: House Running are back with another of their signature compilation 12"s, calling on a host of talented producers keeping the house dream alive. Paris-based producer Colkin is bringing nothing but good vibes on piano chopping, lately bass-ing burner "Central 13". He also gets a second look in with "Gonna Be", which features none other than Detroit breakthrough star Javonntte on impossibly powerful vocals. On the flip, Meemo is on hand with the spaced out funk of "Untitled" while Yoshiko Okabe's "Tree 4" gets a 90s-style, club-ready re-rub from Yamuraka. If you're looking for high grade deep house music, look no further.

Review: Founded back in 2007, London imprint 2nd Drop has deftly steered its way through the post dubstep fracture across some twenty 12" releases. Arriving at their fifth & a half anniversary, the label offers up a thrilling snapshot of their enduring diversity on their maiden compilation Future Foundations which arrives across a series of three 12"s (as well as digitally) The excellent Alex Coulton and dedicated up-and-comer Youandewan line up either side of this first 12" with the former's "Grenade Swing" needing little more than some rugged drum machine manipulation and a slightly drunken melodic touch to warm to our affection. On the flip the Leeds based Youandewan offers a slightly more soft edged approach with the delay laden off grid charms of "Faith"

Review: The Uducha label showcases its fifth release with a various artist EP housing cuts from a mixed bag of names. Alex Danilov, Brother G and Yuri Shulgin team up for a triple collab resulting in the track "Untitled", a swerving and fruity mix of flutes, chimes, pads and dusty drums. A5 makes use of some Ray Manzarek keys, sampling the Doors "Riders On The Storm", layering some noisy electronics over the top, while Kurvenschreiber keeps things psychedelic with some Krautrock styled synthesis in "Leitweg". Trueman then debuts on Uducha 5 with a whimsical and cool summer sounding "Odyssey Saga".

Review: The Weekend Circuit imprint have had an impressive two years since their first release by Dax J back in 2013. Since then, they have released relentless dance floor missiles by the likes of Developer, Rommek and Italy's Antonio De Angelis. This week, the label inaugurate the start of their Ground Fault Interrupt series with a four-tracker by its best and brightest: "Knights Of The Round" by Dax J takes a menacing kick drum and chucks it over noisy melodies and hypnotic bundles of ambience, Yan Cook's "Hidden" is deeper and more dubbed-out, "Control Room" by Developer himself is a wonky techno brain-melter in true Detroit style, while Antonio De Angelis goes all icy and stiff-necked on the chilling beats of "Polar". A techno affair.

Review: The mighty Digital introduces a brand new Function off-shoot Function Dubz with a focus on ragga/vocal based jungle. Naturally, it's a hefty launch release: "Zion" is straight out of 1993, all head-twisted amens, crazy-sharp edits and evocative dub vocals. "Bad Bwoy Talk" brings us back to the future on a sleazy bubbly halftime roll and full badman chats from YT and Solo Banton. A full jungle history lesson in two tunes; few artists do it like Digital.

Review: Fellow Danes Djuma Soundsystem and Yann Coppier team up with King Ayisoba on vocals for "Anyimu". King Ayisoba sings in Frafra, Twi and in English and is a big star in Ghana. This track is the kind of trippy and atmospheric slow burner that you could imagine label boss Damien Lazarus playing during the final hours of one of his legendary Burning Man sets. Who better to get in for a remix than Ibadan main man Jerome Sydenham for the high octane "Ibadan vocal dub" or the slightly more restrained "Ibadan Deepstrumental". The mysterious Johnny Aux lends a hand on the remix too giving the track a dusty and tunnelling deep techno remix, sounding like early Fred P, not bad!

Review: Welcome To The Jungle is a celebration of one of the most prolific D&B labels to have emerged in the last few years. Run by Ed Solo and Deekline, Jungle Cakes is home to some of the cheekiest, most accessible bangers available. One of two samplers, these are just two of the full album's 30 highlights. "Bam Bam" takes Sister Nancy and throws her deep into oceanic bass. With Serial Killaz trademark low-end brutality in full effect, it's an instant crowd slammer. "Raw To The Floor" is one of Deekline's originals; with a catchy vocal, references to hip-hop heritage and shivering synths, it's yet another tasty treat from jungle's finest bakers.
