Feel The Rain (7:02)
Firefly (5:00)
Sos (6:38)
Rip (5:31)
Review: Incensio is one of those labels that always gets you exited to hear what they have lined-up for us next. In this case it is Ben Ritz, an NYC based producer who takes us to the heart of the club with this fierce four tracker. He opens up with the wonky and retro techno funk of 'Feel The Rain' then the squealing synths of 'Firefly' take over with a hurried rhythm leading you late into the night. On the flip, things gets more wild and manic with 'Sos' and last of all is 'Rip' which layers up squealing synths and edgy chords, slamming kick and unrelenting energy for future raves.

Drive System (5:40)
Positive Displacement (6:28)
Release (4:56)
Detonation (5:09)
Review: The no-frills Unrillis label strikes again here with some high-octane and brain-frying techno thrillers from Ritzi Lee. 'Drive System' is a multi-layered cacophony of cantering drums and bristling synths next to vast, rusty, distorted hi-hat ringlets. 'Positive Displacement' is another loopy one with metallic hooks, pulsing bass and a relentless sense of forward motion. On the flip, Lee gets the machines to squeal and hiss and draws them out over a more minimal drum line. 'Detonation' is a bright, melodic, and 90s techno classic. Lots of variety here makes this a top EP.

Review: It's always exciting to hear from a brand new label and get to grips with that it may become way before the wider world cottons on. Side B is just that and this inaugural outing is a belter from Rkeat. 'Risky Endeavours' sets a heady tone with dubby, stripped back drums that remind of early Skudge. 'Whereabouts' draws on a similar aesthetic for some rather evocative late night tech rollers littered with glitchy sounds, and 'End Of Tips' then rolls on frictionless drums with deep space sounds roaming about the mix. 'Indol' offers a physical broken beat workout to close.

Review: Ukraine has been a hotbed of house and techno innovation going back a good few years now. Nechto is a label that has more than played its part in that and now kicks on with a new EP as it hurtles towards 30 releases in all. RMK is behind this one and opens up with some impassioned vocal cries over sleek linear beats. 'Vessel' is a tightly woven deep techno tapestry with soulful synth warmth lighting things up. There is no let up on 'Factory Streets' with its driving drums and pulling synths adding meat to the bones and last of all is 'Keys', another triumphant example of how both form and function can happily co-exist in the techno world.

Review: The Groove Access label kicks on to a third release here and it comes in the form of a split EP between Rob Threezy and Maddjazz. Threezy kicsk off on the a-side with 'Threezy', a panel beating techno workout with leggy drums and elastic bass that will spangled any crowd. His second cut, 'Liquid Metal' is another masterclass in bendy bass and chunky drum funk, this time with vocal stabs layered in for extra spice. Maddjazz then steps up to kick off the flipside in frantic acid laced fashion with all sorts of OG Chicago house ranges over booming techno grooves. 'TR DrumTool' is a final weapon for dance floor destruction.

Kopfnikker (2:15)
Review: With over 25 years in the game and a legacy as one half of the revered German electronic duo Wighnomy Brothers, this veteran artist shows no signs of slowing down. His latest EP delivers a slick blend of minimal and tech house flavors with undeniable character. 'Frandga' kicks off with a sultry vocal performance by Delhia, layered over a groovy, addictive minimal tech foundation i funky, hypnoti, and impossible to resist. 'Wortkabular' follows with a more stripped-back micro-tech approach, sharp and precise yet full of subtle movement. On Side-B, 'Beatkutter' flips the energy into a playful, techy party stormer, driven by a nasty, elastic bassline that's pure dancefloor mischief. 'Kopfnikker' closes things out with a surprising twist i a broken IDM-inspired rhythm paired with unique melodic touches, offering a textured and thoughtful finish. This EP proves why his influence still runs deep, blending masterful technique with a fresh, free-spirited edge.

Naila (6:17)
CDV (feat Bruno Pronsato - remix-edit) (7:18)
Review: Kompakt describe contemporary progressive house producer Robag Wruhme as "not just a producer, but a storyteller"; we'd wholeheartedly agree, save for the fact that unlike writers - storytellers who, for the most part, have a message to send to the world, and put said message into words for us to decisively make some sense out of - Wruhme is more of a sensational, of whose narrative arc we can only get a sense. It's clear from 'Speicher 132' that Wruhme approaches the art of minimal progressive house as, well, exactly that: an art of careful, sparse, but nuanced living room furnishing, in which perhaps better a world might be imagined. 'Naila' and 'CDV' both bring a brill sense of movement to the otherwise firmly rooted-in-place genre that is house, working in many extra varnishings, textures and licks of paint.

Review: French producer Jerome Barresi as Robert's Diary delivers a superb EP on Is It Balearic? Something a little different. Dinky Bird is delicate pianos and an atmospheric vocal sample subtle beats and melodies reminiscent of Eple and classic Moby. Legendary Norse God Bjorn Torske keeps the atmosphere and adds creates a more percussive 4/4 shuffler. Six O Six has the trademark vocal sample and piano but a more dance floor feel. Mutant electro is the order of the day, as Roberts mines his considerable experience to edge distinctive qualities into classic machine funk. A subtle sprinkling of discord here, a grubbiness in the signal chain there, and you have yourself a rock solid record which edges past the pretenders to hold its own as a legit slice of contemporary electro you'll actually want to pop and lock to.

Thermae (3:21)
The Atrium (3:28)
Review: 'Thermae' feels like a track that's more about the spaces between the notes than the notes themselves. Featuring Andy Baxter on guitar, bass, and drums, along with Jim Piela on saxophone and Francesca Uberti on piano, it's a laid-back, almost meditative piece that brings to mind the warm, smooth vibes of Khruangbin and Glass Beams. The track is sparse, but not in a way that feels emptyithere's a certain tension in the way it unfolds, with each instrument carving out its own space. The saxophone, in particular, stands out with an FX-laden part that evokes the mood of Robohand's 'Palms' LP from 2023, adding a touch of depth and atmosphere that lingers in the background. There's a nice balance between the organic and the electronic here, which shows in how the track was recorded between London and New York. It's all mixed and mastered with care by Sean Woodlock and John Webber, ensuring that each element, no matter how subtle, shines through in its own time. It's a reflective piece that doesn't demand attention, but invites it when you're ready.

Robot84 Vs The RAFF - "Get It Right Next Time" (5:46)
Review: London producer Scott Ferguson is the man behind the Robot84 alias. He has a love for 80s gear that very much defines the sounds he makes, from proto-house to darker disco. His self-titled label is back with more of that good stuff here as he faces off with The Raff for 'Get It Right Next Time'. This one has a creeping groove and warm chord sequences that tease and please beneath sweeping Balearic synths and celebratory melodic sequences that build to a crescendo. The drums get the hips swinging and the sprinkling of cosmic magic finishes it off in style making it a perfect cut for open-air dancing by the beach.

They all pay homage to techno's functional roots and were made using analogue hardware - always just one specific synth from a selection including Korg Monopoly, Yamaha DX100, Roland Jupiter 8 and others, along with his 909. This is the ninth EP in just a matter of months and they are all brilliant - pure, potent, head melting, high functioning techno with no fads but plenty of character.

Review: Roggtrax is the latest of many alter-egoic endeavours by Matthieu Roggwiller (aka. Mattrogg) since 2020. His latest 12", 'The Docksides Boy', is a minimal, surfy disco wave-braving - an instrumental dance project homing in on the defined edges of early '80s "Anglo-Saxon disco, blended with sub-Saharan African disco, new wave and art pop of the time. Building off its own coinage - 'electropical' ambience - the sonic palette here is smooth, rhythmical and oded to the guitar, with casual disco hookers like 'Strato' and 'Finger' both in name and in content recalling the image of fingerstyling while overlooking a Mediterranean sundown.

Into The Void Where Things Grow (part II) (5:31)
Review: With Yoyaku's record shop staff handling A&R, the YYK No Label imprint has become impressively unpredictable. Recently, they've served up 21st century progressive house from Varhat, a killer collaboration between Chez Damier and Ben Vedren and an experimental synth-pop album from People People. Here they turn to Swizz jazz drummer Samuel Rohrer, an artist with extensive experience of delivering hybrid acoustic-electronic tech-house and minimal techno excursions. That's what's on offer here, with Rohrer blending vintage electronics and his own drums and percussion with synthesiser sequences, machine beats and intoxicating aural textures. This approach is best exemplified by the Tangerine Dream-goes-tech-house flex of 'Rewired Paradise' and the sludgy, pitched-down 'Memory Reset', though ambient jazz number 'Into The Void Where Things Go (Part II)' is also brilliant.

Review: Gigerian horror is evoked on Roi's new EP 'Six Nine' for Nachstrom Schallplatten. The German label specialises in producing these kinds of dark, otherworldly wax flying saucers, and new resident artist Roi, hailing from Spain, knows just how to replicate the mood sonically. This is techno extrapolated to its hardest, most humanity-jettisoning proportions. It also adds a neat idiomatic side-order to an otherwise sprawling discographic *table d'hote*, with Roi temporarily adapting his sound to suit the topic of cosmic horror. Never letting up, the record reaches its peak on the gnarly title track, the lead synth line on which snaffles up the surrounding texture like a mass-consuming beast.

Review: Pumping new Syncrophone remixes from producer Rolando, who helps the label celebrate its 60th outing with a fresh crock of remixes of star releases from its back catalogue. Including versions of Derrick Thompson, Zadig and Malvito, this collection brings a powerful Detroit-inspired sound to a cutting-edge modern feel, not getting too bogged down in tradition and yet keeping quite true to the raw and unvarnished finish incipient of the early motorised sound. Best here has to be the B2, which heads in a broken direction, splitting rhythmic hairs with auto-somatic woodblock strikes and deep pads.

Review: After a decade-long hiatus, Blake Baxter (Underground Resistance, Tresor) and Marc Romboy (Systematic, Kompakt) reunite over their latest track, 'Muzik is Love'. More than just a song, it represents a philosophy, a mindset, and a tribute to 'authentic' techno, in their own words - this move follows on logically from the 'meta' arc of many of their more recent releases, which routinely focus titularly and thematically on the form of music itself, rather than using the form as a means to express another content. 'Muzik Is Love' follows up the likes of 'Muzik', 'Where Would You Be' and 'House Ya', and includes an excited set of rhythmic fixations on on the B-side, in the form of a locked groove take.

Review: Ron & Roland was a mid-90s collaboration between Matt Hodgson (7th Voyage) and Laurant Webb (Housey Doingz) and at their peak they made some untouchable records that perfectly straddled the house and techno divide. This new reissue on Pariter is one of them and it features a trio of cuts laced with visceral acid energy. 'Nassaur Bassed Party' kicks off with crispy drums and snares that cut through the rich bass. 'Acidless Party' gets wilder with extra 303 energy and 'Track Ball Treck' balances dynamic drive with sonic detail for a dubby, elastic groove that was initially recorded at Swag Studios Croydon in 1996 and, with these other cuts, was initially released on Surreal. It's been a cult favourite ever since and still sounds magnificent.

Review: Mote Eovler has only ever dealt in serious techno and that's what we get here from Roogunit. Across four fierce tracks various different moods and grooves are offered up. It is the brutal drum patterns and brushed metal textures of 'Bash Box' which open up with urgent siren sounds up top, then 'Don't Let Go' is more fulsome and freaky, with funky drums and dark vocals looping up top. 'Koox' then layers in glassy melodies and silky synths that unravel in linear fashion and 'Sanity Regard' is the eerier and edgy closer. This is some serious techno for those who like it proper.

Review: Acqua Di Sale, the debut mini-album by the enigmatic Rosa, captures the essence of boogielicious synth-pop from Napoli. Recorded at West Hill Studio and produced by the renowned Neapolitan team behind Mystic Jungle Tribe, this album inaugurates the Pegaso Series on Periodica Records. With its velvety funk bass, smooth saxophones, and Nigel Rodgers-inspired guitars, Acqua Di Sale effortlessly evokes the polished synth-pop sound of the eighties. Rosa sings enigmatically in the Neapolitan dialect, adding an air of mystery to the already seductive melodies. The album's six tracks are tastefully artificial, featuring drum machines and other quintessentially eighties elements, perfect for a sophisticated cocktail evening. The music feels timeless yet modern, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in a continuous loop of evocative soundscapes. 'Acqua Di Sale' is not just another nostalgic throwback but a fresh take on synthpop that honours its roots while embracing contemporary production. It's an album that invites you to experience the romantic and clandestine Napoli of the heart, where vivid emotions and forbidden desires intertwine seamlessly.

Each one delivers relentless rhythms and deep grooves, but with an all-important stripped-back sci-fi atmosphere that feels at once classic and forward-thinking. 'Re-Calibrated' is one that stands out with its broken kick patterns and shapeshifting synth filters that suspend you above the 'floor. The title track is a melodic burner that succeeds triumphantly with heavy percussion, anthemic crescendos and at a blistering pace. Amazing! 'Burning' is a fantastic as well. Dramatic and engaging, we love the way it favors melody over the supporting rhythm giving it a more atmospheric sound. On the B-side, 'Maybe It's Love' adds some soft-spoken female singing to it giving us strong 2000s era flashbacks. This is a really strong and perhaps underrated 12". Give this the opportunity to play through and you will want to revisit these often. ARTS continues to come through with excellent techno.

Review: Roy Of The Ravers may be best known for his lysergic rave pelters, but there's always been a hint of grandiose melancholy in his synth work that suggested there was more to the machine botherer than tear-out acid beats. Emotional Response worked with the artist in trawling through a vast archive of material recorded between 1997 and 2017, rescued from hard drives once thought lost, and now gathered as a compelling ambient release with the full fat hardware veneer of Roy's work to date, but coming from a more reflective angle. From cathedral-quaking drones to deeply submerged aquatic excursions, this album has plenty to draw you into the inner world of an acid hero.

Review: Roy Of The Ravers takes a break from his mischievious outings on Acid Waxa et al to lay down some of his braindance tackle on Emotional Response. White Line Sunrise II.I (Le Roy Soleil) can rightly be considered a follow-up to White Line Sunrise II and indeed it represents a similar kind of spectrum of electronica. Roy's sound is edging further into the kind of 'artist' territory where slower, softer tracks, odd vocal diversions and some pop sensibilities merge with the acid, electro, breakbeat and other well-established tropes of his sound. It's the kind of record which could easily broach this quirky fringe operator of UK electronics to a broader fan base, and there's no doubt he's got the melodic, emotional heft on tracks like 'Versace 101624' to get everyone on board.

Review: The Paper Cuts label has been doing a fine job in putting out head-tripping club and chill-out styles for a fair stretch now and following the Ivy mixtape released earlier this year they're back with this outstanding split release from Roza Terenzi and Furious Frank. Terenzi takes the A-side with her trademark line in electro-minded machine funk rhythms powering gorgeous back room moods, keeping the mix dubby and with plenty of ambient sparkle on top of the punchy drums. There's even space for a little d&b trippiness on 'Total Recall', which also features Noff. Furious Frank gets busy on the flip with 'Splash', a blissed out beatdowns with more than a little Balearic magic in its bones, while 'Moss Rock' turns the heat up for a distinctly 90s slice of acid trance. 'Dripp' seals the deal with another low slung roller from the chill-out room of your dreams.

@(_)@ (10:05)
('-_-') (10:26)
Review: RP's 007 on Scharnhorst Records features two engaging techno tracks that are sure to grab people's attention. Side-1 presents '@(_)@,' a standout track that creatively incorporates samples from Depeche Mode's 'Everything Counts,' transforming it into a dynamic stomper. The innovative use of vocal samples adds a fresh twist, making it a unique and memorable listen. On Side-2, '(-_-')' offers a distinctive blend of techno with a Tangerine Dream-inspired vibe. This track builds steadily with an ominous, brooding atmosphere, providing a deep, immersive experience. Scharnhorst 007 is great for those who appreciate inventive techno with a touch of classic sampling influence.

CHGRNDLMR (4:25)
Review: Latest from the Scharnhorst camp (not to be confused - please - with the historic German battleship) comes the five-track future disco booter from producer RP. All tracks here resound with the vestigial aura of a classic disco cut, except they've rerouted back through a busted amp operated by Tiesto standing in as soundboy (the sidechain is real). Meanwhile, the track titles are conspicuously absent of vowels, suggesting lips sealed tightly to the point of speaking through teeth. 'DNTKNWWHTCNSVYFRM' is difficult to speak aloud; perhaps the implicit message is to say less and to move more. Best among this bunch is the closer 'CHGRNDLMR', which brings out a beautiful Balearic guitar to temper the otherwise brusque drums.

Review: Scharnhorst is back with more house sounds that blend the past with the present thanks to the work of RP. The opener here is a super sleepy and low-key house sound with lazy drums that sink you into a reverie while some well-sampled and classic 80s vocals are slowly but surely introduced to awaken the dance floor. '13' is another dreamy and unhurried deep house cut with a languid groove and more 80s references, this time with the swirling pads that float up top. '12' has a more churchy feel with grand pads adding scale above the frayed drum lops and finger clicks. The final rough-cut diamond on this package is '11' with its smudged pads and time-stretched vocals.

Review: Following 2023's When A Worm Wears A Wig, Robin Stewart returns with Crinkle and delivers a set of warped dub techno tracks that apply advanced dub logic to precise, pointillistic rhythms. Channelling influences like Peder Mannerfelt and Rrose, Stewart revives classic genre tropes with a fresh perspective that dives deeper into the physicality of sound and focuses on bass throbs over aggressive kicks. Standout tracks like 'Stomach' surprise with lolloping off-grid beats soaked in lysergic textures while 'Compact' delivers a more traditional peak-time vibe with innovative processing. The title track brings everything together with mind-bending spectral rhythms.

Review: The latest one on Faze Action's label comes from Robin Lee in his Rudy's Midnight Machine guise. This is where Lee's disco funk fantasies run amok, with 'Dyane' in particular coming on strong with the sound of the early 80s. This is blissfully melodic, good time stuff throughout, steeped in classic motifs but delivered with a fresh, modern panache. There are downtempo Balearic moments like 'Crystal Dragonfly' to get lost it as much as there are plenty of invigorated calls to the dancefloor, making this a five track EP to really get your teeth into.

Review: Manchester character Ruf Dug has never shied away from poking fun at the sone and its all too often safe sounds. He really backs that up with his own music here as this Asking For Trouble EP is a brilliantly weird and wonderful concoction. 'Buttoned Down' has gun shots, curious melodies, ambient pads and hulking great kicks that are hella fun. 'Pomegranate Dub' is red hot island music for blissed out afternoons blazing in the sun and 'Open Air' brings sleazy rock riffs and chubby disco dub to the party. The flipside explores digi-dancehall-dub vibes on 'Watching', carnival house on 'Pipes' gorgeously melodic deep house shuffles on 'Night Blossom'. What an EP.

Fortunately he has more than enough skills to keep criticism at bay as this new one on the legendary International Feel shows. He kicks off with the epic electronics and dubby rhythms of 'Casita Mas Alta' which unfold over nine fine minutes. Review: The Rotterdam label Mort's long-running Herdersmat series was first released in digital compilation form; only now has this round table turned its swords towards a sequential vinyl series, not the first of which you hear here. This 12" marks parts 16 in the series, clocking contributions from producers Rumenige, TAKA, Jokasti, Nek, and NX1. The heads-down producoes so named have delivered a creative, blazing irradiation of broken techno heat here, charting a rumbly and grounded, yet no less interoceptively arresting haul; our fave 'Eka' throws our sense of balance of course with quick, hard autopans and roughly ingrained, kick trods; then the silver medalist 'MRD1' bucks the proceedings off to unploughed courses, frightening the listener with garbled, found-footage EVP voices between horror-techno kicks.

The A-side 'Palace' blends ambient, ethnic percussive sounds with cosmic Detroit vibes, while the B-side offers a psychedelic deep house trip inspired by Terry Riley's minimalism and Motor City's raw machine soul.

Elsewhere, Thomas Melchior serves up a typically arcane venture into the deep on his version of 'Dim Dim', while the much missed Soulphiction provides the perfect majestic backdrop for St. Hilaire's amazing vocals play centre stage on his version of 'Redeem'.

This one comes with the sub-head 'Charlie' and sure is a charged-up various artists affair that kicks off with the anxious synth designs and nimble drum funk of USAW's 'Kokedama'. Red Rooms coats his beats in dusty and scruffy hi-hats on 'Imaginary Pleasures' while Bidoben gets more deep and eerie with the melodic howls of 'Mimic.' SLV's 'Ohne Sonne' keeps the tension levels high with paranoid synths peeling off an unrelenting groove and two further offerings explore more paired back sounds that tunnel deep into the future.

The originals are characterised by dark industrial vibes, sharp kicks, and throbbing yet playful basslines that will persuade any dance floor to get throwing shapes. On the flip side, Chinaski's remix takes an unexpected turn as a trance-like trip that climbs higher and faster with each beat. S.I.R.S. offers a contrasting disco remix with an irresistibly groovy bassline, and just as irresistible is the playful artwork by Gees Voorhees that perfectly captures the eclectic nature of this EP.

Review: While not as widely known or celebrated as those who came in his wake (and cite his work as an inspiration), Rephlex alumnus Bogdan Raczynski makes music every bit as alluring - and, like one of those he influenced, Richard D James, a fan of playful press releases and eye-catching interview quotes. He's variously described his amusingly new title as an AI-made attempt at EDM, the soundtrack to a rejected Tesla infomercial, a collection of ten-year-old tracks and a bid to crack "the lucrative coffee shop playlist market". Whatever the truth, it's a melodious, warm and ear-catching collection of cuts that flits between cheery electronica, off-kilter IDM, immersive and maximal club cuts, joyful ambient soundscapes and short, sweet numbers that refuse to outstay their welcome. Another winner from a master of his craft.

Review: "And the award for best named album of the month goes to..." No prizes for guessing, Rephlex alumni Bogdan Raczynski delivers yet another record as manifesto. A collection comprising warm melodic 'electronic sketches', to borrow from the official release blurb, You're Only Young Once But You Can Be Stupid Forever is complex lo fi businesses, and immediately engrossing. Short and incredibly sweet, the tracks here are cute and unconcerned with imposing themselves on the listener. Instead, they invite us in from the cold of pretentiousness to play and connect with our inner child. At times, it feels like we're bouncing along the levels of a platform video game. In other moments, it's less, more minimalistic. Those thinking of chip music should move on, though, as this is none of the above.

Review: The sixth album from Radioactive Man aka former Weatherall collaborator Keith Tenniswood, written amid a whirlwind of international touring,. 'Under The Counter' sets the tone with its soft, gleaming textures and deep bass. From there, the album dives into a vibrant mix of styles, from the slap bass funk of 'See Above' to the dense techno of 'Colourful Language'. But there's more than bangers. 'Sinkhole', for example, a collaboration with Suade Bergemann featuring vocals from Ali Love and Chloe Raunet, provides a poignant counterpoint with its melancholic melody. This triple 12" package, released on Tenniswood's own label, is a journey through UK rave, breakbeat and Detroit techno, all filtered through the lens of a master electro craftsman.

Described as darker, harsher and more daring, the album takes you deeper into their industrial sound. Opener 'Hip Dork' is a contorted kind of techno derivative that lunges straight for the jugular, while the paranoid and dystopian atmosphere created on 'Manfria' sets the scene in dark ambient style before unleashing a barrage of electro beats. Over on the flip, the gloomy vocal cut 'Leper Colony' takes influences from darkwave, ending with the punishing and abrasive grind of 'Volga' which is pitch black.

This one comes from Italian duo Rain Text which comprises Giuseppe Ielasi, a renowned mastering engineer and one-half of Bellows, and Giovanni Civitenga, who hosts the long-running Skyapnea show on NTS. Their new album III offers sequentially titled, intricately detailed electronic compositions that blend abstract techno, glitchy sound design and experimental electronica. Comparable to Mika Vainio's sonic manipulation yet more densely layered, III nods to the fractured sounds of Actress and the decay-driven textures of late-period Jan Jelinek. It's engaging and unique, to say the least.

She's gone on to helm different projects, tour the world and generally blossom as a singular and gifted artist. After a string of self-released LPs, she's popped up on Music From Memory with one of her most refined works to date. Hyphea unmistakably belongs in the RAMZi-verse, full of the same mystical, softly shaped flora and fauna which makes her music so inviting, but there's also a sense of structure and purpose here which suggests she was honing her expressions - a natural progression for an artist who can make electronic music sound so very natural indeed.
