Still a classic, still a brilliant mixer. Nearly 20 years on the market but sounding just as good as ever, the Xone:92 seems like a bit of a bargain now.

Supplier's Notes:
The industry-standard Xone:92 is a versatile six channel analogue mixer, renowned for its expansive, involving sound. With its solid construction and easy to use interface, the 92 is on the riders of most of the world's top DJs and is a permanent fixture in the booth at many of the biggest superclubs.

The Xone:92 was one of the first professional DJ mixers to incorporate MIDI for control of DJ software or external devices, and the first to include the innovative dual VCF filters. With its two stereo FX sends, twin Mic/returns, and one of the best EQ sections around, this mixer is a DJ's dream tool.

The Resor 3300 is Resor's latest addition to the rotary mixers. It features a fully discrete class-A Master Isolator, 3-Band EQ per channel, a dedicated Microphone input with volume control, four Phono/Line preamps, Urei-style knobs, and more.

With this model, Resor bring an all-new discrete master Isolator developed over six months. The new class-A circuitry carries over the 24 dB /Oct filters, crossover frequencies, bypass Relay, and a "full cut" to a maximum boost of +12 dB. With the staggering number of components, including 28 BJT and 32 FET transistors, Resor have achieved outstanding performance in sound and measures.

The 3-band channel EQ is an entirely new design. It brings a fresh set of frequency curves and attenuation levels across all three bands, a lower noise floor, and retaining the discrete Op-Amp on duty.

There is a different curve across these two segments, with the Isolator having a more pronounced sweep and colour. In use, this means that per channel, you get to craft your sound via the EQ and then craft further still with a different tonal balance with the Isolator.

Across the EQ and Isolator, plenty of headroom is available across all frequency ranges, providing plenty of control when crafting the audio.

Each of its four channels features hi-fi Phono and Line inputs. With Phono preamps delivering 44 dB of Gain, both vinyl and digital are well-balanced. Further refinements on the Phono preamps gave us even more pleasing dynamics, headroom, and a broader frequency spectrum.

Resor offer an additional element of customisation that one can specify when they place their order, ranging from adding an FX-bus, changing the combination of colours for the faceplate to different wood finishes and knob options.

Resor 2525 M has a 3-band EQ per channel designed around their discrete class-A Op-Amp. The Bass control with a range of +/-18 dB at 100 Hz is great for sculpting the low-end frequencies, providing ample flexibility for enhancing or attenuating bass elements in the mix. The Mids control with a range of +/-12 dB at 800 Hz, and the Treble control with a range of +/-12 dB at 10 kHz enables adjustments to the high-frequency content, helping to add sparkle or tame any harshness.

The PERFORMER boasts 7" high torque die-cast aluminium platters with acrylic discs that respond just like vinyl. Magnetically attached to the platters, the discs provide consistently accurate feedback. In the centre of each platter is a high-definition 3.5" LCD screen that displays deck info, moving waveforms, album artwork, and library views. The Day Mode option reverses contrast for a clear view so nothing gets washed out when in sunlight.

Precision feel faders

In addition to the adjustable MAG FOUR crossfader, the PERFORMER mixer section features 4 revisited PRECISION FEEL FADERS. These adjustable tension faders utilize the same dual rail mechanical system of the MAG FOUR, but in a horizontal fader that's mounted vertically on the circuit board. This translates into ultra-smooth, reliable, and consistent response when playing. After extensive testing, the perfect knob sizes were chosen, with an elastomer applied to the outer circumference of each to ensure a comfortable and reliable grip as well as a high level of vibration absorption.

The uniquely developed mechanism for the faders also benefits from optimum weighting. You'll notice a difference in the feel of the knobs when you turn them at different speeds, as a smooth load is applied when you turn a knob slowly for delicate fine-tuning and a limited load level is applied when you turn a knob quickly to instantly reach your intended volume level. Conventional VU meters only have 1 needle meter, making it difficult for DJs to grasp multiple channel levels at the same time. But the euphonia's uniquely developed Mix Level Meter features a needle meter for each channel so you can visually check the levels for all channels and mix smoothly while keeping the groove going. The technologies acquired through the development of the SL-1200 Series and the high-end SL-1000R model were lavishly inserted into the motor drive unit, a key part of the turntable. The motor exclusively tunes the single-rotor, coreless direct drive motor adopted by the SL-1200GR in order to read the high rotation accuracy and high-precision signals of the record. Optimal motor control is conducted for the inertial mass of the two-layer structure platter on which the vinyl record is placed with deadening rubber on the entire back surface to eliminate unwanted resonance in the aluminium die-cast platter to eliminate the rotation irregularity called cogging. The aluminium die-cast chassis is rigidly integrated with a special material consisting of ABS mixed with glass fibre to achieve a two-layer construction. The insulator is comprised of a spring and rubber to provide optimal vibration-damping characteristics. The tonearm is a static-balance universal S-shape tonearm, another Technics tradition. By adopting a high-precision bearing using the same gimbal suspension construction and machined housing as the SL-1200 Series, high initial sensitivity is achieved. In addition, reliability has been improved by incorporating a removable power cable and gold-plated terminals, which have less sound quality degradation, for the PHONO and LINE terminals.

Complete Turntable with a Built-in Phono Equalizer and Cartridge In order to enjoy playing analogue records more comfortably, the SL-1500C features a built-in phono equalizer and bundled cartridge. There is no need to separately prepare either one, making it easy to link with a wide range of audio equipment. The shield structure of the built-in phono equalizer suppresses the effects of external noise and noise from the power supply. It is also equipped with a switch to turn the LINE output off when it is not being used. The turntable has been designed to thoroughly shut-out adverse effects to the PHONO output. The dedicated power supply for the PHONO output terminal is isolated from the power supply for the LINE output terminal, and has been designed to prioritize sound quality by minimising the wiring of the PHONO signal. The isolated terminals also prevent wiring mistakes. An Ortofon 2M RED cartridge, which is highly acclaimed as an MM cartridge, has been selected for the bundled cartridge. Combining this high-quality cartridge with the performance of the SL-1500C will maximise the sound quality of vinyl records.

When the tonearm reaches the end of the record, the Auto Lifter function automatically raises the cartridge. This prevents unnecessary wear on your valuable vinyl records and stylus. By embedding the Auto Lifter function in the base portion of the tonearm, it eliminates impacts to the tonearm. Due to a simple design that doesn't use motor power, there is no electrical or vibrational impact and it will not prevent the movement of the tonearm. In response to requests from many users regarding the Auto Lifter function, a design that prioritises sound quality was adopted. The functions required to playback records were kept to a bare minimum, achieving simple and easy-to-use operability.

Xone filter system

The original and best. The Xone filter is a legend in the DJ booth - none of its imitators come close. Xone:PX5's filter includes HPF, BPF, LPF, resonance control and frequency sweep, plus the option to route the Aux channel and External Return to the filter.

Xone:Sync MIDI clock engine

Xone:PX5 features an integrated MIDI clock engine which can send start/stop messages to external equipment. The 5-pin MIDI Sync/Out connection integrates external software/hardware instruments such as drum machines and synthesizers which can be connected via 14" jack input connections (mono/stereo). Xone:PX5 can also send/receive MIDI clock information through the USB connection.
