Review: We don't think that the title of Beatconductor's latest edits and reworks EP is meant to suggest that he's bowing out (and we certainly hope he isn't). Instead, it's most likely a reference to the heart-aching, end-of-a-love affair lyrics at the heart of the tracks he's chosen to rework - and in some cases rebuild from scratch. Check first 'Neither One Of Us', where a poignant, echo-laden vocal from a soul classic rises above a head-nodding electronic groove and fuzzy analogue bass, before admiring the piano-laden, loved-up mid-to-late '80s house-not-house vibe of 'Simmer Down', which sounds like a rework of an old Whitney Houston gem. 'Simmer', meanwhile, is a boogie bass-sporting chunk of R&B re-cast as an 80s soul/disco fusion number.
