After a pair of 12" selectors' teasers, the full edition of Tectonic Sound stands poised to plot a new course for Pinch's long-running Bristol label, pulling a drawstring on a freshly foraged crock of producer talent alongside with cured and matured names from its past. The 24-tracker welcomes first-timers like Re:ni, Beatrice M., Yushh, Flora Yin Wong and Sicaria, as well as cornerstone figures such as 2562, Shed and Distance. Nearly all contributions were made with the label's DNA in mind: bass-led electronics working the fault line between dubstep, techno and broken rhythms. "More so than just the sound, the music is in tune with the real ethos of the early dubstep scene," says Pinch. "It's led by hearts really."
