While he may be a brilliant bassist and admired producer, Razor N Tape co-founder JKriv has long been one of the best re-editors in the business. This fine four-tracker sees him make his bow on Barcelona-based Neighboursoul Rhythms, an edit series that has previously showcased work from other scene heavyweights such as Rahaan and Mark Grusane. On side A, the New York veteran first surges through the high-energy, synth-powered disco rush of 'Big Feelings', where layered female vocals ride a sweat-soaked groove, before successfully rearranging the warm and laidback disco-soul warmth of 'Keep Pushing'. Over on the reverse, 'Turndown Service' is a gritty mid-tempo disco throb-job marked out by jaunty pianos and passionate vocals, while 'Sarara Crioulo' sounds like a tweak of a summery MPB gem from Brazil.
