Theory Of Swing is a southern Italian label run by St. David that's focused on '90s house grooves. Its next release comes from Parisian duo Alexandre Valard & Lucas Moinet, better known as Groove Boys Project, who follow up some great releases on Deeppa, Ansom and Groovin'. The Manhattan Soul EP clearly takes influence from the zeitgeist of early NYC and Midwest Stateside house, so much so that you'll be truly convinced these tracks are of the same era. 'Missing You' (NY Stompin' Mix) is the kind of emotive and swing-fueled vocal house with big piano lines that would make even DJ Duke or Anthony Shakir stand up and notice. Over on the flip there's the tough rolling and bass-driven basement bounce of 'The Deep' (Rawai mix) with its nod to the great Kerri Chandler. Tip!
