Review: One of the most crucial art-pop records of all time, 'Hounds of Love' was British legend Kate Bush's fifth studio album, her most commercial and most daring. "It was just a lot of work" Bush laughed on an interview with Richard Skinner in 1992, explaining the sudden resistance she felt following her polarising 'The Dreaming', the first album she also produced. Despite the fear, the pressure and the workload, 'Hounds of Love' is, without question, her most beloved, opening with one of the most treasured songs of the 20th century, 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)' that has been revived time and time again in the soundtracks of TV shows like 'Pose' and 'Stranger Things'. Steadily approaching its 40th anniversary, there's still so much to this record beyond its singles. The latter half of the album contains a concept mini-album, the 'Ninth Wave', a narrative suite of songs based on the Ivan Alvazovsky painting of the same name. It follows the psyche of a woman who is stranded in the ocean, confronted by the ghosts of her past, present and future. I could go on about this album forever, truly, and its constant relevance in the zeitgeist is a testament to the lasting power of these songs. This is the first time this record has been released in over 10 years, featuring the Fish People remastering on a purple 180gm vinyl, an obi strip tied over a spot finish sleeve.

Review: There's no denying Domino know how to knock 'em down hard. Having already delivered long players from Cat Power, Bob Moses and Villagers just this year alone, they are now turning to Devonte Hynes who is no stranger to the label either. Negro Swan provides the London artist with his fourth studio album which in large draws from the lost souls of '90s pop. It's hard not to hear Michael Jackson, Phil Collins and R&B four pieces all at once in tracks like "Saint", and even "Charcoal Baby", while there's even suggestion of Will Powers' spoken charm in the words to "Family". More Contemporary touches of genre are there in the emotional, beat pop of tracks like "Chewing Gum" and "Nappy Wonder" without forgetting the tropes of neo soul in "Holy Will". A grand album wrapped up in the angel wings of Blood Orange's queer poetic.

Review: Jillian Rose Banks' debut 'Goddess' wasted little time in rendering her a name to be reckoned with in contemporary R&B on its release in 2014, its emotionally engaging cadences being as slick as they were seductive. 'The Altar' however marks her stepping up a gear whilst maintaining her inimitable style, the sophisticated sheen of her sound juxtaposed against a rawness of delivery and frankness of subject matter. Review: Arthur Baker is an American producer and DJ known for his work with monumental dance acts such as New Order, Afrika Bambaataa and the Pet Shop Boys. While coming up as a DJ and studio producer, he also made a name for himself as a remixer over the years, and this box set, released by reissuing specialists Demon Music, goes the extra mile to do solid justice to his reinterpetive efforts. They're not the choices you'd expect, either, with the comp proving that Baker opted to remix the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen and Tina Turner, in among choices you might also expect like Huey Lewis, The Psychedelic Furs and The B-52's.

During the 1980s the New Yorker was involved in creating (or mixing) a string of ground-breaking electro, freestyle and proto-house records, before becoming one of the most in-demand remixers on the planet. This vast box set, which includes six weighty slabs of vinyl and an informative insert, celebrates his legacy, offering up a mixture of pioneering productions (Afrika Bambaata and Soulsonic Force's 'Planet Rock', 'Walking On Sunshine' by Rockers Revenge, 'Confusion' by New Order), dancefloor anthems (Freez's 'I.O.U', his enormous rework of Fleetwood Mac's 'Big Love') and a string of essential but lesser-celebrated revisions - all presented in full-length, DJ-friendly form. In a word: essential.

Review: British pop band Bros aka twin brothers Matt and Luke Goss, and originally their mate Craig Logan, dropped their debut album Push back in 1988. It gets a special 35th anniversary reissue now, all these years after it peaked at number two on the UK album chart and was certified quadruple platinum. Nicky Graham and Bros' manager Tom Watkins wrote all the material which has some rather avant-gard ideas for pop music - childhood poverty on 'Ten Out of Ten', the AIDS epidemic of the era on 'Shocked' and the heartache of previous relationships on 'I Owe You Nothing.' It remains a great British classic pop record.
