With its futuristic, flighty vibe, the title track 'Drive By' immediately grabs attention with its vintage-inspired electro sound. The synths are crisp, and the rhythm is punchy, making it a great nod to classic electro, yet with a modern flair. The first remix by Christian AB, Autopilot mix 1, channels a Kraftwerk-like feel, infusing the track with electro that's perfect for breakdancing. It's a highly energetic rework, leaning into the mechanical, hypnotic elements that define the genre. The second remix, Autopilot mix 2, delves deeper into the groove, with a more prominent bassline and intricate rhythm patterns. This version ups the intensity, giving the track a fresh, updated vibe while maintaining the raw energy of its predecessor. Review: Long before electro returned to prominence, Transparent Sound was serving up must-check slabs of body-popping brilliance. In fact, the Bangor-raised duo have now been releasing music for 27 years. 'Beneath The Beauty', the pair's latest single, first featured on 2019 album Gently Evil. It's a fine slab of punchy, intergalactic electro rich in undulating TB-303 acid lines, alien-sounding electronics, shimmering pads and potent TR-808 beats. It comes accompanied by a brand-new flipside rework courtesy of US electro veteran Freddy Fresh, who gives the track a darker, more claustrophobic feel while adding a sparkling new lead line that's impressively futurist in tone.

Review: Frost and Einzelkind's Pressure Traxx captures the evolution of minimal tech house over the past ten years, as the rigour of functional 4/4 gave way to different rhythms and motifs from the wider dance music lexicon. It was a smart move which helped reinvigorate the scene, and while they didn't do it on their own they absolutely fuelled the fire. Ten years in, their label is certainly due a retrospective which stretches out over eight sides of next-level workouts for long blends and marathon sets. The cast of characters hardly needs explaining - from Tobias and Villalobos to Edward and John Dimas, the quality never lets up and in one smartly arranged box set you're going to be gifted with the finest minimal in recent circulation.
