Review: Basel-based experimental labels Amenthia Recordings and A Walking Contradiction join forces for their first collaborative release here in the form of the Flash Crash/Hack Crash EP. Both labels are known for pushing boundaries within their close-knit creative circles and this one features Agonis' heavy stepper and Konduku's whirlpool of low frequencies on the Amenthia side, while Lemont continues the low-end, tripped-out vibe. Varuna represents A Walking Contradiction and delivers swampy, slow-motion sounds in their signature style. This release embodies both labels' commitment to daring, unconventional electronic sounds.

Review: Mariachiara Troianiello is the creative mind behind Katatonic Silentio and here she continues to explore spatial and sound design while also blending diverse forms of dub and instinctively weaving stories through her music. Her tracks and live sets are known for their meditative quality, with each transition serving a deeper, intentional purpose. That plays out here on her new EP Axis of Light, on which Troianiello presents five pieces where the drops and transitions flow seamlessly and gradually reveal hidden layers and meanings as the journey unfolds.

Review: Many a record has been endowed the name "Killa Sound", but none may be quite so killer, so piercing, as this new dubstep one from the anonymous plate-pusher. Filling floors with fricative basses and buzzy overtones on 10", this one moves heavy on repressive atmospheres: A-sider 'Police Skank' conjures all sorts of connotations re the abuse of power, sinister miscarriages of justice; bassweight connoted with riot-gear-clad police omnipresence. 'For The Massive' contrasts as a ruminative people's tune, set against tricksy, background halfstep breaks design: "live and direct for the massive!"

Review: Kodama's beats are rooted in garage rhythms but draw from a much wider world of sounds on this new EP on the Fent Plates label. 'The View With You' embodies the cover art with its smeared colours and psychedelic melodies all adding charm to the heavy, lumpy, wooden beats. Elsewhere, 'Lovers In A Dangerous Mistime' is a jazzy synth interlude full of whimsy, 'Lean On You (7th Movie)' is a lo-fi piano and deep house melange, 'Confessions' pairs more knock-on-wood beats and emotive piano keys and 'Rush' is perfectly undercooked 2-step with an organic, warming undertone. A really nice, fresh EP that brings something different.

Review: These tracks have received some huge hype just from the plays they have been getting from DJs luckily enough to have them. Now they finally get a vinyl pressing so the rest of us can join in the fun. First up is a three way collab between a trio of well-regarded artists in the UK drill rapper Kwengface, master bass producer Joy O and techno's Overmono. 'Freedom 2' has cut-throat rhymes and two-step garage influences with low-end subs which will destroy the club. The original version features on the flip with a less club-ready and more drill-centric sound.
