Notes: Another iconic Buchla module gets the Eurorack reissue treatment courtesy of TipTop. The 242t is the brand's unique voltage-controlled clock and trigger module, generating pulses based on a 4x12 matrix.

Supplier's Notes:
The Buchla and Tiptop Audio 242t Programmable Pulser is a reissue of the time-event-based generator from the 1970s 200 series. At its center is the Pulser, a voltage-controlled clock oscillator with a wide frequency range, extending up to audio frequencies, numerous outputs, and start/stop controls. The Pulser drives a programmable matrix with three rows of up to 12 stages: (A), (B), and (C). Stages are activated using the X/Y coordinate controls, and the total number of stages can be set using the (n) row. Clock and Reset inputs allow the 242t to sync with other devices, while the Reset input can also be used to control the number of stages with external pulses.

Notes: A typically clever approach to modulation from Make Noise, the MultiMod takes a control signal and modifies it into eight related outputs, adjustable by phase and timing. Hugely versatile.

With MultiMod...from one control signal, we create many.

In a modular synthesiser, it is easy to create complex results via complex means - patching an elaborate network of independent control signals, for example. This can be very powerful but also cumbersome to set up, and potentially difficult to control in a meaningful way. MultiMod represents a new approach: it takes a single control signal and copies it 8 times, not unlike a simple mult, except that it allows you to modify those copies by weighted adjustment of their relative phase and speed. The result is modulation that is related to the source, but not identical at each destination.

Phase sets the spacing of the signal copies in time, weighted by channel, with each progressive channel getting more out of phase from the original signal and from each other. Spread allows for varispeeding the copies by different amounts, with each getting progressively faster or slower than the original Signal. Time determines the range of time captured at the input and therefore also the depth of modulation across copies of the input signal when Phase and Spread are manipulated. MultiMod also includes Tempo, Hold, and Reset features, and a variety of Read Shapes for temporal rearrangement of input signals.

When the input is not patched, MultiMod generates an LFO that is copied eight times and manipulated in the same ways.

MultiMod is built with the latest DSP hardware which offers eight high resolution outputs, with signal input and output ranges approaching the upper limits of the analogue eurorack modular system. All I/O is capable of a 20V range at +/-10V, greatly exceeding the typical 0-5V CV input ranges on typical digital modules.

The 285t combines two sets of functions: the top section features a frequency shifter, while the lower section includes both balanced modulation and classic ring modulation, all with voltage control. Notes: The MCO MK II is a highly versatile digital VCO and voice module inspired by 90s/00s digital synths shrunk into just 6HP.

It offers a broad collection of unique, high-quality synth voices, each with extensive, customizable parameters. These parameters can be directly controlled or modulated through assignable internal and external sources. Certain per-voice parameters support audio-rate modulation, including FM, sync, and DSP. Each voice also supports up to four-voice chords, external-triggered envelopes, multiple LFOs, and dual audio outputs for comprehensive desktop like synth functionality.

Notes: A super impressive offering from Xaoc, the Samarkanda is a quad delay module designed for hands-on, real-time performance. Dial in everything from loops to stereo delays, resonators, modulation effects and much more.

Xaoc Devices Samarkanda is a digital quad delay module with extensive patching capabilities and a lot of flexibility for signal mangling. It can be used as four entirely independent delays, a dual stereo delay, a complex/multi-tap or multi-channel delay, a quad/polyphonic resonator, dual chorus, dual flanger, reverb, looper (with sound on sound!), and granulator, or any combination of those. You can reverse the delayed signal, hold it, squeeze and stretch it beyond all recognition and still go back to the original piece of audio captured in the buffer! The internal lossless normalization (the signal doesn't leave the digital domain) combined with top-notch components (including 24-bit AKM converters and 32-bit internal processing) are responsible for high sound quality. Samarkanda has been conceived in the truly modular spirit. Not only can you control almost all its features remotely with CV/gates, but the external feedback path gives you the opportunity to process the delayed signal with other modules.

Samarkanda offers a wide range of delay times beginning at a mere 0.5ms and reaching up to 15 seconds per channel. That means that, by stacking its four channels, you can achieve up to one minute delay! There are two operating modes switchable individually for each channel. Analogue delivers pitch changes that resemble classic analogue tape and BBD delays. When you combine it with the looping Hold function, you can play Samarkanda with any 1V/octave CV source. By using the Sync function you can even loop single wave cycles. The Digital mode gives you a granular buffer-scrubbing effect (no pitch change) across the whole delay time range. You can seamlessly switch back and forth between modes without losing any information. You can use Samarkanda for multiple tasks at the same time - from four independent delay lines through any combination of channels processing the same signal up to a quad behemoth. You can also use the linking feature for ease of operation (the first channel in the chain acts as the main control source for the others).

As most settings operate on a per-channel basis, you can freely combine different features (such as analog/digital behaviour, delay time range, reverse and hold functions, etc.) in a configuration of your choosing. You can synchronize each of its channels separately to a different source, either via the Sync input, or by using the tap-tempo functionality (with multiplication and division galore). Should you ever get lost, the Purge button comes in handy when/if things start to spiral out of control!

Notes: Meet Stardust, a cosmic tape looper.

The foundation of Stardust is a stereo looper with all the essential controls to record and manipulate sound, while supporting click-less looping transitions, an ultra-low noise floor, and high-fidelity audio hardware. However, getting the perfect loop is only half of the equation, Stardust also focuses on the texture and vibe of your recordings. Notes: A visit to the Hainbach Studio Complex two years ago, led to a collaboration that would result in what is perhaps Joranalogue's finest design yet. United by a common passion for vintage test gear, the Joranalogue team joined forces with artist and YouTube sensation Hainbach.

Collide 4 builds upon on the lock-in amplifier concept, and brings it into the Eurorack world. These atomic age physics research instruments are known for their raw power when used in musical applications. Soon, any synthesist can experience this for themselves, at a fraction of the size and weight of a vintage unit, and with full voltage control.

The result is a wholly new kind of synth voice and audio processor, unlike any other. It's a perfect union of Hainbach's extensive experience in exploring the deepest musical realms contained within vintage test equipment, and profound knowledge of audio design and production.

Notes: A rock-solid all-rounder of a VCO, the Cycle 5 is a triangle-core oscillator with morphable wave shapes as well as conventional sine, triangle, saw and pulse outputs. Switchable octaves and 5th transposition make the module even more user friendly.

A small Eurorack oscillator that packs a punch: that's the best way to summarise Cycle 5.

At its heart lies a refined high-stability triangle core voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), with performance matching or exceeding that of much bigger and costly oscillator modules.

Instead of a coarse frequency knob, a 7-position octave switch is provided. This in combination with a perfect fifth transposition switch and factory pitch tuning, makes Cycle 5 an exceptionally straightforward and musical VCO to use: simply centre the fine tune knob, and the module will be instantly tuned to reference C.

Meanwhile, its dual precision volt per octave inputs add a great deal of versatility. For example, one could be used for pitch sequencing and the other as a generic exponential FM input, or both sequenced together for transposition effectsithe dual inputs serving as a built-in precision adder.

Sporting all the classic waveforms, ranging from sine wave, triangle, saw and square/saw, as well as a hard sync input and low frequency oscillator (LFO) mode, Cycle 5 makes for a real workhorse VCO. The novel trigonometric waveshaper results in a very clean sine wave, ideal for sub bass duty.

Cycle 5's highlight however, is its vari-wave feature. By adjusting the vari-wave knob, the waveform on the matching output will smoothly morph from sine, to triangle, saw, square and finally a very narrow pulse. The vari-wave parameter can be CV controlled, up to audio frequencies for some intense timbres.

Equally at home as a modest modulation companion to big VCOs, as being in the spotlight in miniature or polyphonic systems, Cycle 5 might just be the most multi-talented tiny analogue oscillator yet.

Notes: Great value from Xaoc's pingable dual VCA, capable of creating organic, acoustic-style decay curves which replicate the dynamics of real-life instruments. Ideal for processing audio as well as CV.

Xaoc Devices Lublin is a high-quality dual VCA module with exponential CV inputs. On top of that, its two identical channels feature additional inputs for pinging. These inputs use an elaborate analogue circuit to model the dynamic behaviour of vactrols, allowing you to trigger a carefully crafted gain response that mimics the natural decay of plucked and struck acoustic instruments. Unlike lowpass gate modules though, Lublin reduces gain while retaining the full frequency bandwidth, so it is perfect for harmonically rich signals, like our Odessa additive VCO. The vactrol-like behaviour is just a starting point as the envelope may be varied within a wide range using a switch (natural, shortened and prolonged response) and a potentiometer, so you are not stuck with one decay characteristic. Therefore, you can use it not only to create bongos, but also for fat compressed kicks! The built-in gain control circuit (saturating CV instead of the audio signal) prevents distortion from excessive amplification. Lublin is DC-coupled, so you can use it to process CV as well as audio signals.

Notes: Part of TipTop's exceptional series of Eurorack-format Buchla modules, the 264t provides four sample-and-hold circuits, plus a logic circuit designed to control polyphonic patches. Deceptively simple but surprisingly creative, like most Buchla modules.

Four independent sample-and-hold circuits, plus a specialized logic circuit for expediently implementing polyphonic patches.

Sample-and-hold's are essentially one-cell analog memories. They are useful for "remembering" the instantaneous value of a control voltage (a detected envelope, for example), for generating equally spaced steps from a constant slope input (as from a 281t envelope generator), and for converting any continuously changing voltage (a random voltage, for instance) into a series of discrete values.

The 264's sample-and-hold circuits have two operating modes: sample and track. In the sample mode, the value of the input is sampled and applied to the output whenever a pulse is received. The output remains at this value until the next pulse arrives. The track mode diers in that an input is applied to the output for the duration of the pulse. The output tracks the input until the end of the pulse and remains at a constant value until the next pulse.

To use the 264t as four independent channels set the separate/common switch to separate. A single CV can be set to all four channels by setting the operate/common to common and plug CV in the the back jack on the with right side.

The Model 264t includes a polyphonic adaptor, which performs the logic necessary to implement four-voice polyphony. Facilities are incorporated for fine tuning and f.m. modulating the oscillators; light emitters display the adaptor's operation.

CV control via rise/fall

A unique feature is the ability to control rise and fall times via external CV signals, allowing you to dynamically react to your performance or patch.

Shape Control

The Shape slider allows you to fine-tune transitions over a wide area. Whether it's a slow exponential increase, linear transitions, or a subtle adjustment through the logarithmic characteristic, it's all at the service of the music

Notes: The aux mix 1U is a 3-channel stereo mixer module with a stereo auxiliary send bus. The routing options on this mixer module make using aux mix 1U for send FX, parallel processing, feedback mixing, and more possible. It is designed for audio signals only (not for mixing CV). It is AC-coupled, and uses audio-grade, logarithmic attenuators for a smooth, even response across the entire volume range.

Each channel has a dedicated pair of inputs for stereo audio sources. The left channel inputs are normalled to the right for mono audio sources. All three channels feature a precise level attenuator, a mute switch, and an LED input activity level indicator. The three stereo channels are mixed and summed to the main outputs, where they can be patched out to a wider Eurorack system or external pro-audio equipment. The output stage features soft-clipping diodes for smoother saturation when signal levels are very high.

In addition to the main mix controls, channels 1 & 2 also feature an aux level attenuator with a pre/post switch. These can be used to create an independent aux mix which is routed to another pair of outputs, separate from the main mix. The aux output stage also features the same soft-clipping diodes as the main output. aux mix 1U has four 3-pin connectors on the rear side for directly routing audio between other Intellijel cases & modules - without the need for patching cables. Connections include aux in, aux out, chain in & chain out. This also allows you to chain multiple aux mix 1U modules together to form even bigger mix chains.

Notes: The Morphor Sequencer - Quad Gate/CV is a versatile tool for both live Eurorack performances and songwriting. This module can be configured as a 2-, 3-, or 4-track sequencer, depending on the selected output configuration. With flexible track configurations and intuitive real-time step editing, this sequencer offers a handy approach to sequencing in modular systems being only 4 HP wide.

Whether you're controlling gates, CVs, or a combination of both, this module adapts to your creative needs with ease. Key features include up to 4 independent tracks, each capable of holding up to 16 pages containing up to 16 steps. Notes: The WT-QUAD-LFO module consists of four individual, digital, wavetable based low frequency oscillators (LFO) with an easy and intuitive featuring a 1.8" OLED color display. The module can be updated easily by inserting a flash drive with the firmware files in the USB port on the front panel.

The oscillators and their respective controls, inputs and outputs are organized in four channels. The frequency of each oscillator can be linearly or exponentially (1V/Oct.) controlled through the voltage applied to the corresponding CV input.

Each LFO channel can output one of the predefined waveforms (including sawtooth, ramp, square, sine, triangle), morph between two different waveforms or generate a random waveform. It can be externally reset through the sync input.

Each trigger output can be set to output a specific phase of the corresponding waveform.

Notes: Welcome to the Rosci soundscape. Rosci is a digital VCO that generates random waveforms to create unique, rich, and full sounds. You are able to control how complex the sound is-add harmonics and have a completely unique shape generate using the generate button/trigger. BUT, it can also be tuned to output basic waveforms (sine, square, sawtooth) if you so desire.

Tunable parameters breakdown:

COMPLEXITY: Essentially a generation of unique timbre.
ROUNDNESS: Set the basic shape of your waveform. Go from from sharp to soft sound, similar to filtering.
HARMONICS: Add up to 6 harmonies to your sound. The choir's here.
FORMANTS: Accentuate certain overtones in your sound (like a voice singing "ooo", "ahh", "eee").
DETUNE: Add a classic 'detune' with a changing phase wave for extra wide sound.

How does it work?

It is a pipeline of algorithms, which generates and modifies a waveform starting from top to bottom. Rosci works on a principle of key points: the generate button generates key point location and amplitudes to be passed down the pipeline.

Tunable parameters:

Beginning with complexity, you set the number of key points (even numbers only to create a waveform). Lowest complexity sets two points, and highest complexity sets up to 20 points. The number of key points will vary with each waveform generated. From there, the roundness sets the type of interpolation of the key points, from square to sine. Adjusting the harmonics creates copies of the waveform and adds them to the original waveform at double, triple, ... up to 6x the base frequency. Formants maintains the frequency of the wave, but squishes it so there is 'empty space' in between (this is also called pulsar synthesis). Finally, detune copies the waveform and 'detunes it' by increasing the frequency ever so slightly. And there you have it: a unique Rosci soundscape :)

Notes: The uFM is an oscillator module, that is focused on FM synthesis.

It's basically a two-operator FM synthesis, but with extended functionality: The operator waveforms can be either sine waves (classic FM), or four other different combinations of non-sinewave waveforms, that produce a much broader palette of sounds beyond the classic sinewave based FM synthesis.

The MOD DPT knob controls the modulation depth; in combination with a button press also the multiplier of the modulating operator can be defined.

Both parameters can be controlled also by CV and also via IMDI by MIDI controllers. The pitch can be controlled via 1V/octave CV or also via IMDI e.g. from a DAW

(For IMDI, see IMDI HEART for more info).

Additional to the normal audio output a suboctave output with a squarewave is provided, and a third output with the mix of the primary oscillator signal and the suboctave.

Quite a lot for such a tiny module, right?

Please note: These micro module needs a carrier, like the uBASE module. The cannot be mounted directly into an AE case.

Notes: A typically well thought-out approach to matrix mixing from ADDAC, the 814 is a stereo, expandable 6x6 design with separate control and in/out modules. Suitable for line/synth level audio or CV.

Introducing ADDAC's take on matrix mixers, a 6x6 stereo matrix easily expandable to larger configurations.

Matrix mixers may need some time to get used to, but they are very much self-explanatory, each knob controls the volume of a matrix point routing the respective input to the desired output. The flexibility of a matrix mixer is far superior to a standard mixer, the possibility to route any input to any single or multiple outputs allow for very complex chains, combining parallel and series processing while easily reconfigurable without any extra patching.

All Inputs Left channels are normalled to the Right Inputs.

Blank areas on the left and bottom edges of the panel allow for the user to write all the inputs and outputs sources that each channel is connected to.

Different coloured knobs for faster visual recalling: Black for A,C,E Outputs Dark Red for B,D,F Outputs Cream knobs for potential feedback diagonal: 1A, 2B, 3C, 4D, 5E, 6F.

DC coupled circuitry, can be used to mix both audio or cv signals.

Bandit is a fun combination of band-pass filters, VCAs, and routing options.

It serves multiple functions including equalizer, crossover, multiband VCA, 4 band spectral mixer, and spectral external FX insert point.

It allows you to:

Cut or emphasise different frequency bands of a signal, acting as a voltage-controlled equalizer/isolator.
Split a sound into four different frequency bands for external processing, and if needed, insert them back
Mix four different signals with predefined tone placement in the mix.

In a typical digital effect the dry signal gets converted to digital, causing conversion noise and latency. Signals are often attenuated before combining digital dry and wet, with makeup gain amplifying the conversion noise. To avoid this scenario, Strymon have equipped Magneto with a completely analog dry path. Why go to all this trouble? Because the improvements in dynamic range and reduction in noise are so dramatic.

Strymon have outfitted Magneto with the powerful Analog Devices SHARC ADSP-21369 processor, which provides a 366 MHz core instruction rate, and an incredible 2.4 Gigaflops of peak performance. Notes: Rings is a resonator, the essential ingredient at the heart of several physical modeling synthesis techniques. The resonator transforms an external, unpitched excitation audio signal into a full-bodied pitched sound. Rings is the bar, the tube or the bunch of strings you cause to vibrate with a bursty external signal.

Any signal can be fed into the resonator, including envelope clicks, trigger signals, noise bursts, even tonal sounds. It also contains a special "polyphonic mode", where four notes can ring together at the same time. Although it is not truly polyphonic, it adds density and chordal characters to the sounds output. For those wanting the functions of Elements without the losing HP real-estate, Rings is exactly the solution.

Three families of vibrating structures are simulated by the module, with CV control over their parameters:

Strings, membranes and tubes as modelled by Elements' resonator section (modal synthesis).

Strings coupled together and vibrating in sympathy, with controllable intervals between them.

Strings with a variable amount of inharmonicity.

Rings can be configured so that each new note is played on its own virtual string, while the previously played note(s) still decay. This unique take on polyphony allows the module to play strummed chords.

Main frequency (quantized in semitones).
Structure. With the modal and string models, controls the inharmonicity of the spectrum (which directly impacts the perceived "material"). With the sympathetic strings model, controls the intervals between strings.

Damping. Controls the damping rate of the sound, from 100ms to 10s.
Position. Specifies at which point the structure is excited.

Ewa was created as a lovely partner for the Krait module, a syncable 3-channel modulation source. Paired with Ewa, Krait will get new useful abilities, such as 3 freely routable cv inputs, endless encoder for smooth editing without value jumps, dedicated clock menu button and clock and reset outputs.

Each CV input can be used to record external cv source in Record mode. Beside that you can route any input to any parameter of the LFO and Random too. With Ewa now it is easy to modulate LFO rate or Random slew for example. CV inputs are bipolar and react to the signals between -5 +5 voltages.

Additionally a dedicated clock menu button and clock output can make Krait as a clock source for other modules in your system that need sync.

Notes: Beatsi is Omni-Tone's love letter to modular drums! Inspired by classic modular drum synthesis which uses the fundamental building blocks, Beatsi's timbres were created using the same methods, only digitally. Beatsi is not a sample player or a physical modeller, and it's meant to be that way.

Beatsi's interface allows for control over individual piece Timbre, Pitch, Decay, and Level. The timbres are organized into 3 kits: an orange (acoustic) kit, a blue (low-fi) kit, and a green (alien) kit. Within these kits the timbres blend smoothly into one another allowing for seamless modulation. Beatsi has two CV modulation inputs which are assignable to any and all parameters with individual attenuversion. Beatsi may be small, but it packs a serious punch.

Notes: Module A-188-9 is a so-called high speed VCO that tracks perfectly to the 1V/oct scale in the frequency range of about 15kHz ... 500 kHz. The main application is the exact drive of BBD modules (A-188-1/2) to generate sounds realized by means of the so-called Karplus-Strong synthesis. But even in cooperation with other modules featuring high speed inputs (e.g. digital noise, delay, frequency divider) the A-188-9 makes sense. In principle the module is made of a precision audio VCO followed by a PLL (phase locked loop) unit that multiplies the frequency of the audio VCO by 32. Thus the module can be used also as an audio VCO as it features the standard waveforms sawtooth, triangle and rectangle with adjustable pulse width.

Technical Note regarding the Slew parameter:

Besides the audio VCO the module contains a so-called PLL circuit (Phase Locked Loop) and a 1:32 frequency divider. A slew limiter is part of the PLL. It defines how fast the frequency of the PLL follows the frequency of the VCO. The PLL cannot follow the VCO without any delay. Rather one has to find a compromise between the residual ripple of the PLL frequency and the frequency follow rate. That is the job of the slew limiter (works in principle like a glide or portamento unit). For this the module is equipped with a 3-position switch that is used to switch the slew time in 3 ranges. When mostly higher frequencies are used ((~ 100kHz ... 500 kHz) a short slew time can be chosen. When also lower frequencies are required (< 100kHz) a longer slew time may be used to reduce the residual frequency ripple. As a reference clock generator, the Harmonic Timing Generator produces a base frequency with analogue multipliers (x1 to x8) to generate complex timing signals. Three selectors provide manual or voltage-controlled frequency switching, offering flexibility for intricate sequencing patterns. An LFO mode enables slower clocking rates, ideal for driving sequencers or generating modulation sources.

When used with the Interpolating Scanner, the sawtooth outputs of the Harmonic Timing Generator are transformed into sine waves. Notes: The Subharmonic Oscillator is one of Serge's latest inventions and also one of his most extraordinary designs. 7 accurate analogue VCOs tied at the waist- in unison, yet their frequencies can open up like a fan, creating complex clusters. Each voice generates a pulse wave. It is temperature compensated and follows exceptional 1V/Octave tracking.

In addition, each voice provides (voltage controlled) pulse width modulation or subharmonic division as well as an individual output. The precision of these voices in combination with a global Spread control and various FM inputs opens up an enormous sonic range from massive unisono sounds to dissonant, orchestra-style textures.

Notes: Quad Attenuator/Inverter, Splitter, and Offset Generator

Scale your audio or CV sources and route them to various destinations with this versatile utility. It consists of four identical unity gain amplifiers. Each amplifier can multiply an incoming signal by values ranging from 0 to 1 (for attenuation) or from 0 to -1 (for inverting attenuation). The input of each channel is normalled to the input of the next channel, allowing for easy signal routing from one input to the subsequent ones.

The first channel is normalled to 10V, enabling the module to function as an offset generator when no input is connected.

With BASS|DRUM, Vermona have transferred the sonic foundation of the DRM1's KICK and DRUM instrument channels to the Eurorack format. They reworked the existing circuitry in key areas to optimize it for the modular context. The result is an Eurorack sound generator that clearly reveals its origins and at the same time surpasses them many times over.

The modulation possibilities of BASS|DRUM offer enormous flexibility. Many parameters like the pitch of the oscillator, the decay time and the integrated wave shaper can be controlled by external voltages. For example, you can create rhythmically alternating long and short or low and high kicks or tonal variations by modulating the waveform.

Toros Iteritas Alia is a multi-operator, three-algorithm phase-modulation oscillator. Taking inspiration from Nosie Engineering's favourite things about FM synthesizers and doing away with complicated interfaces and mysterious controls, Toros prioritizes immediacy and, of course, epic sounds.

The unique Blendex controls allow the user to route each oscillator to be a PM for the next oscillator in the algorithm or direct to the output.
