The MULTI CASSA is an electronic Eurorack module for percussion sound and special FX. Created by LEP Laboratories, the MULTI CASSA module takes inspiration from the Leploop synth. MULTI CASSA is a combination of two modules with different pitch settings, the first maintains the original pitch, the second increases the pitch to recreate the sound off high tom or snare drum.

TRIG MIX: The rhythm played by the MULTI CASSA is the sum of the two trig IN1 and IN2. The trig mix pot adjusts the mix between the two trig input, which is great for creating polyrhythms.

FREQUENCY: Adjusts the pitch of the sound, also effects the resonance.

RESONANCE: Adjust the resonance, i.e. the damping time of the case. Beyond a certain level the MULTI CASSA can go into permanent oscillation. The level at which the oscillation begins varies with frequency.

DISTORTION: Adjusts the level of signal distortion.

Notes: An LFO, or low frequency oscillator, sends control voltage out in the shape of a waveform. The Quad LFO available shapes include sine, ramp, saw and pulse and moves through these shapes using the SHAPE slider. You can send these 4 distinct LFOs directly out or to other modules for frequency modulation, VCA control, filter control, etc.

What makes this Quad LFO module different is that it also includes a 16 step automation sequencer as well as autosave or expanded preset functions when used in conjunction with Varigate 4+ and Varigate 8+.

To create a sequence of automation for an LFO, hold the RECORD button and move the sliders for Frequency, Phase, Shape, Distort and Level and those slider movements will play back automatically as the Quad LFO cycles through the sequence. Dual analog filter eurorack synth module - 16HP wide

The Malekko Richter series in Eurorack modular format offers the same great sound, ergonomics, musicality, and quality that made the Wiard 300 series legendary, at a fraction of the cost and size.

The Dual Borg contains one Borg I (left side) and one Borg II (right side). These are two different filters, each with their own character. They do not sound the same nor react the same way to your inputs. The Dual Borg is a versatile audio processor and the concept comes from a marriage of two divergent influences: the Buchla 292 Low Pass Gate and the Korg MS20 filter.

The Borg Filter is different from most filters in that it, at its heart, is a vactrol. Vactrols are combination light sensor/light resistors that possess interesting sonic traits. Often described as "rubbery" or smooth in quality, vactrols are also known for their relatively slow response. This response creates a natural, very musical decay. As a low pass gate (frequency mode), the Borg will act as a filter and a VCA simultaneously. In combination with the characteristic vactrol response, this creates a signature sound that is desired by many synth enthusiasts, especially when used with very short, percussive patches.

But the Borg is no one-trick pony, and low pass gates are not for every patch. When in frequency mode, the Borg is a 12db filter with loads of personality. Gorgeous resonance (influenced by the MS20 and shaped by the vactrol design) swells from subtle warmth to a roaring howl that is unique to the Borg! For entering VCA mode, the new push button VCA switches allow instant changeover between modes- great for performances!

A continuously adjustable low pass to high pass control is provided (a notch filter is a mix of these two). Each filter has one audio input and two CV frequency inputs (one with attenuation). Two separate outputs are provided, and output 2 has a slightly more aggressive resonance. Removing either jumper on the back of the filter will make the resonance "scream" even more! The jumper behind the Borg I effects the Borg I's resonance, and the jumper behind the Borg II changes the Borg II's resonance.

The Borg I (left side) has a slower response and a more mellow sound compared to the Borg II (right side). Thanks to its longer decay time, the Borg I is best for recreating the famous Buchla bongo patch, and the Borg II is best for a faster, more aggressive response.

The signal path of the Dual Borg is selectable: Series or Parallel.
- In Series mode, when you plug into either in 1 or in 2, or even both inputs (as a mix), the signal is routed through the Borg I then Borg II filters and both out 1 or out 2 have the same signal. If you are connected to both outputs, you will only get signal from out 2.
- In Parallel mode, a single input into in 1 or in 2 is routed through both filters side by side, and a single output (either out 1 or out 2) will give you a mix of both filters. If you have only one input but two outputs, out 1 is the Borg I filter only and out 2 is Borg II only. If you have two inputs and two outputs, then each filter is completely separate: in 1 and out 1 is Borg I, in 2 and out 2 is Borg II. To use only one filter, you must patch into both outputs then choose which filter's output you want to hear.

Modor Comb Filter Module (synth module)

14HP Eurorack digital filter
Notes: What is a Comb Filter? It is a digital filter where the input signal is mixed with a slightly delayed version of the input signal. You won't hear it as some kind of an echo, as this delay is very short (40ms at max). But the mixing process creates a number of equally spaced peaks and holes in the frequency spectrum, that make it look like the teeth of a comb. That's where the name 'Comb Filter' comes from.

Comb filters are typically used to make chorus and flanger style effects. These effects are created by modulating the delay time. With longer and relatively fast modulated delays you receive a chorus effect. With short to very short slowly modulated delays, combined with some feedback you'll get the typical sound of a flanger unit.

So, the most interesting parameter in this is the delay time. That determines the frequency spacing of the comb teeth. So that's why there's a CV control for it. The typical chorus and flanger effects are made by modulating the delay time with a triangle LFO. So there's a triangle LFO onboard the module, with speed control. If you don't enter any CV in the CV1 connector, it is normalled to this internal LFO to make typical effects. CV2 is normalled to the reverse signal of CV1, to make Modor's typical wide stereo effects, just as on the NF-1 synthesizer. But of course, you can enter your own CV signals in there: LFO's, Envelopes or some rhythmically undulating spacy voltage signals...

The centre big DELAY control sets the delay time, the DEPTH control sets the amount of CV modulation of the delay time. DEPTH can go positive and negative.

The MIX control sets the dry/wet mix. The FEEDBACK controls the amount of feedback. It can be set both positive and negative. The SPEED control sets the pace of the internal triangle LFO.

6 channel trigger sequencer/clock divider with bipolar CV - 18HP
Notes: MITO (derived from "mitosis") is a 6 channel trigger sequencer that specializes in swingin', divide'n, n' polyrhythm'n. With the turn of a knob, the user can select which division of the incoming clock (BANG!) is output from the corresponding jack (all the way left: divide by 16, all the way right: divide by 1). Each channel is equipped with its own mute switch, allowing the user to turn each individual sequence on and off while other channels keep chuggin' and clockin' along. Global swing can be controlled with the amoeba knob in the top right hand corner of the module. Beneath the amoeba, a global pulse width feature allows the user to lengthen and shorten pulse length of all 6 channels at the same time. This feature is particularly useful when paired with the Muskrat & Kriket, or any other module that reacts proportionally to incoming pulse length. Last but not least, the RESET input will set all division counts back to zero to square up your groove. Each channel will be held HIGH, as long as the incoming voltage is HIGH. This RESET capability allows you to get even more odd metered grooves as it is not dependent on the internal clock of MITO.

All features on MITO can be controlled with bipolar CV, allowing for a wide range of modularity and flexibility. When paired with the Deviant, each knob on the module becomes the anchor point of the groove. As the random voltages from Deviant shift around, creating rhythmic variations by adding and subtracting CV, the position of the knob will dictate how busy or relaxed the groove is. For playability sake, this patching approach is what led to the decision to have the pots as offsets rather than attenuators on MITO. Everything from simple poly-rhythmic structures to nonsensical spewing and sputtering are now at your finger tips with this lovely duo.

Something considered when coding the module was avoiding the use of averaging to determine master clock tempo. In a performance setting when averaging is used, it often translates to the module taking a few pulses to calculate the overall clock speed. With MITO, the divisions are calculated in an "analog" fashion, step by step with each individual clock pulse.

Random gate/voltage generator - 18HP
Notes: Marbles is a source of random gates and voltages, which offers an extensive amount of (voltage) control on all the different flavours of randomness it produces.

The module gives the musician many different ways of imposing structure on the random events generated by the module: synchronization to external clocks, control of the repetition or novelty of the generated material, quantization of the voltages, or randomization of gates or voltages generated by traditional sequencers.

T: The random gate generator

Marbles either follows its own internal clock, or locks onto an adjustable multiplication/division of an external clock (or regular rhythmic pattern). This regular clock is perturbed by a process simulating an musician playing along a click and trying to catch up on their errors - from perfect accuracy to complete chaos.

From this imperfect master clock, a 2-channel random rhythm is generated, using one of the following processes: random coin toss (similar to Branches), random ratcheting, or random drum pattern generation (similar to a randomly modulated Grids).

X: The random voltage generator

This generator produces 3 channels of random voltages, each of them clocked by the individual outputs of the t section, or by a common external clock signal.

Complete control on the distribution of the output voltages is provided: concentrated or spread-out, quantized or unquantized, smoothed or steppy, centred or biased towards a specific voltage. The same transformations can be performed on an external CV, for sample-and-hold or shift-register operation.

An auxiliary slowly fluctuating random voltage output (Y) is also available for self-patching fun!

A feeling of deja-vu:

Marbles remembers the history of every recent clock deviation, rhythm or voltage it has generated. The DEJA VU knob on the panel controls the probability of reusing past material instead of sampling fresh random data.

You are thus given control on the feeling of repetition and structure in the generated random voltages and rhythms. At the extreme, the module no longer generates any novel values and loops over the same pattern (or a random permutation of it). And of course, this (variably) random looping can be performed on external CVs!

Universal, patch-programmable modulation source - 14HP

Not because all these behaviours have been pre-programmed in the module, but because it allows you to describe your own modulations in terms of basic operations: ramp from one voltage to another, hold a voltage at a set level, wait for a trigger and slew. With or without looping.

Whether you need one complex envelope, or several simpler modulations, Stages reconfigures itself according to which of its gate inputs are patched. There is always a role for it in your patch.

That's it. Really, there isn't more to the story.

Self-generating chiptunes? Very weird LFO shapes? Random gate delay? Stages probably does strange and wonderful things when patched in a certain way.

Flexible input/output layout:

The module detects the presence of jacks on its gate inputs to group its segments: whether it is configured as a complex 6-stage envelope, or 6 individual envelopes, or 3+3, 2+4... depends simply on how you patch it. Dummy patch cables might come handy!

When used as a multi-segment envelope, a segment activation signal is produced on all secondary outputs - for example to trigger an external event when an ADSR envelope enters its decay, sustain or release stages.

In case more than 6 segments are required, up to six modules can be chained together thanks to a connector at the back of the module.

Three segment types:

- Ramp segments go from one voltage to another, in a CV-controlled amount of time, with an adjustable curve (accelerating, uniform, decelerating). They are the building block used for the attack, decay or release segments in envelopes... or for LFOs.
- Hold segments stay at a constant (but CV-controllable) voltage for a programmable amount of time. They serve as the sustain or hold segments in envelopes.
- Step segments glide to a target (CV-controllable) voltage, then stay at this voltage for a certain amount of time until a trigger is received. They are the main ingredient for step sequences, but also for building sequential switches or a sample-and-hold.

Looping:

A segment, or a group of segments, can loop on itself: if the last segment of the envelope is included in the loop, the loop lasts forever. Otherwise, the loop remains active while the gate is high, then continues past the last segment of the loop. These two behaviours allow the creation of self-looping envelopes (LFOs), or the sustain stage of a good old ADSR envelope!

Single segment processing:

Even when they aren't part of any group and don't receive any gate or trigger signals, individual segments can perform interesting functions: Ramp can loop on itself and turn into an LFO, Hold can delay a CV and Step can slew it.

Now patch a trigger signal: the self-looping Ramp turns into a tempo-synced LFO, the Hold segment becomes a pulse generator, the Step segment a sample-and-hold.

Notes: Yarns is a MIDI interface providing up to 4 channels of CV/Gate conversion, and providing some of the MIDI message processing features of Mutable Instruments' MIDIpal, including arpeggiator, euclidean sequencer, and a SH-101 inspired step sequencer.

Yarns provides 4 CV outputs and 4 Gate/trigger outputs, which can be assigned to up to 4 voices. In single voice mode, note, velocity, modulation and aftertouch (or other CC) CV are produced, along with a gate, a trigger, and a clock/reset output. In two voices mode, two channel of note, modulation or aftertouch CV are produced, along with two gates, and clock/reset outputs. The 2 and 4-voice modes are available both in a "polyphonic" and "multitimbral" flavour. Each voice has a built-in digital LFO to interpret modulation wheel messages as a vibrato; can respond to pitch-bend messages; or can be smoothed with a glide/portamento control - no need for a dedicated module and patches to get the right response from a MIDI keyboard!

Each part can generate sequences either through an arpeggiator/euclidean sequencer combo; or with a SH-101 style sequencer with step-by-step recording, storing up to 64 notes. The module can sync to an external MIDI clock, and generate a clock/reset output at any subdivisions of the MIDI clock.

Other unique features include support for microtunings (either through standard MIDI messages or from a selection of historical tunings or indian ragas), just intonation, and an audio output mode which can transform one, two, or four of the CV outputs into simple digital oscillators.

Probabilistic beat crossfader module
Notes: Confundo Funkitus crossfades between two sets of four rhythms using probability. Three different probability curves can be selected to control the behaviour of the crossfader. Per-part switch mutes are included with live performance in mind.

Connect up to four rhythm outputs to each of the two sets of inputs. Connect the outputs to modules that take triggers. Drums that take triggers are perhaps the easiest.

Toggle the Curve switch to the top position. If the crossfader is fully left, then only inputs on the left will create gates. If the crossfader is positioned in the middle, the Centre light is illuminated the two rhythms are blended together: gates are generated any time either rhythm is played. If the crossfader is all the way to the right the gates generated come from the second (right-hand) set of inputs.

Between these extremes the produced rhythm is a combination of both sets of input weighted by the position of XFADE and which curve is selected.

Rhythmical gate generator based on the rhythm theory of African music
Notes: The Zularic Repetitor is a rhythmic gate generator based off the rhythmic theory of African music. A core pattern forms the basis and variation is achieved by offsetting this pattern in time relative to the base.

This module contains 16 mother rhythms from African, Indian, Latin and Funk roots. Each rhythm outputs four variations of itself simultaneously while allowing the offset of each part in time by CV and Knob. It requires only a master clock to run and also allows the pattern to be reset by an external gate.

Connect a clock to the Beat input and let's go! With the Mother potentiometer or a CV you can select one of 32 rhythmical patterns which have African, Indian, Latin American or Funk roots. With a switch you can select between rhythms from the Old or New World.

The gate pattern is available at the Mother output, variation of it at outputs Child 1, 2 and 3. Each of the variations can be offset in time with the Offset potentiometer or a CV, which can generate great rhythms. Each channel has a LED which visualizes a gate.

The Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer breaks through these barriers by including a percussion tuned analog envelope and VCA on each channel. Patching anything from a basic sine wave to heavily modulated and processed noise sources through the Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer will quickly create a distinctive drum kit that takes full sonic advantage of the unique synthesis options available in any system.

The Mind of a Modern Drum Machine:
At the heart of the module is a 4 channel, 32 step beat sequencer designed for live performance. Seamlessly move around the module tweaking patterns and effects without ever stopping the beat. Create and store up to 32 sequences using live performance or step mode recording with pattern lengths varying from 1 to 32 steps. Patterns can be copy and pasted to easily create multiple versions of a beat. The sequencer is driven by an internal tap tempo or external clock source. A dedicated clock in/out jack syncs the sequencer with other modules.

Four Integrated Analog Envelopes and VCAs:
Instead of limiting the drums to a few onboard voices or lo-fi samples, the Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer uses an analog envelope and VCA built into each channel to shape any audio source into a percussive instrument. The envelopes are designed with a razor sharp attack and variable decay/release allowing for maximum control over the output of each channel. The envelopes can also be used externally. A short envelope creates a trigger while longer envelopes can be used as a modulation source for oscillators, filters, or anything at all.

6 Adjustable Pattern Effects:
The Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer includes 6 unique pattern effects to expand the musical possibilities of traditional grid style beat programming. Effects include everything from swing and beat shifters to glitch and generative algorithms designed to manipulate the sequencer pattern. Each channel can run a unique instance of one pattern effect at a time. A master pattern effect channel is also available that affects all 4 channels of the sequencer. The combination of the channel effect and the master effect allows for up to two effects at a time on each channel. Each effect has one parameter that can be adjusted to dial in the perfect response.

- Shift Effect
Delays the trigger output of a channel by small divisions of the tempo. Use this effect to create half-step or stutter-step drum triggers. Effect knob controls the amount of channel shift. The range of shift is 1/8th to 7/8ths of a beat.

- Glitch Effect
Probability based glitch effect that creates chaotic gates based on a cascading chance algorithm. The resulting patterns are always in sync with some division of the clock, allowing for stuttering but not disjointed patterns. The probability is set using the effect knob. The range of the glitch effect is minimal to absolute chaos.

- Density Effect
Sets the number and timing of triggers created for each active step. The result can be anything from a doubling of the trigger to a rolling effect. The effect knob controls the trigger density.

- Morph Effect
Create evolving patterns. The morph effect is a probability based algorithm that modifies an existing pattern by adding or removing active steps. The effect knob sets the probability that the pattern will morph.

- Swing Effect
A classic drum machine effect meant to mimic the feel of a real drummer by shifting the timing of every other step. The effect knob controls the amount of swing.

- Add/Drop Effect
Temporarily add or drop steps from a pattern. The results are similar to the morph effect but changes to the pattern are not compounded as the pattern plays allowing the resulting pattern to stay anchored to the original sequence. The effect knob sets the probability that a step will be modified.

Quadrature sine wave VCO/state variable filter - 18HP
Notes: The SPIN section is a quadrature sine wave oscillator. The GRIND section compares each phase against the input signal, then subtracts the resulting square waves from the input signal. If the spin section is either damped enough or enough signal is fed into it from the GRIND section then it will stop oscillating and become a state variable filter.

The Angle Grinder tracks volts per octave and can be used as a sine wave oscillator with voltage control over harmonic content available at the GRIND OUT. With no input it's four phase related sine outputs (0, 90, 180, and 27 degrees) remain clean from 0.1Hz to over 20kHz and are suitable for quad panning or XY applications.

With an input signal applied the GRIND out ranges from quadrature pulse width modulation (at LFO rate) to sync-like metallic tones (at audio rate). When GRIND is fed into the SPIN then it becomes a nonlinear feedback network with the faders and corresponding CV inputs providing instinctive control over phase cancellation, oscillation, and distortion. 8-bit wavetable oscillator for Eurorack with Uni-Five companion module
Notes: The Oscitron is an 8-bit wavetable oscillator for Eurorack. It is based around the Atmegatron audio engine but also has a lot of different features, which make it more suited to the modular environment.

One of the key differences is the ability to capture wavetables via an audio input. There is also a "continuous capture" mode which produces vocoder-style effects.

The resolution of the audio engine can be altered from the Atmegatron's 32 sample wavetables, down to 16 and up to 128 samples, creating radically different timbres.

There is a clock input that can be routed to many different parameters. There are 5 CV inputs for controlling the most common parameters. 16 patches can be stored internally. As with the Atmegatron, different software can be uploaded to the Oscitron. A port of the Odytron software is ready for release in the first quarter of 2017.

Uni-Five companion module:

The Oscitron comes bundled with the Uni-Five companion module. This is a utility module that takes 2 bipolar +5/-5V signals and 1 unipolar 8V signal and converts them to unipolar 5V signals, suitable for the Oscitron's inputs. Notes: SPUTNIK QUAD VCF/VCA is a Quad Low-pass Gate and each of the four independent gates have a selectable switch for VCF, COMBO and VCA . CV input varies the gain from -120dB to +3dB gain. Bass & drum synthesiser voice module - 14HP
Notes: The Entity Bass Drum is a complete and versatile synthesizer voice geared for designing a huge array of bass drum, percussive and synth sounds. Finally, a truly deep tool for creating analog bass drum, bass lines and other percussive effects is here!

The design consists of a high fidelity resonant filter, 2 stage slope generator (rise/fall) with independent slope shaping, a high fidelity VCA and discrete transistor saturation circuitry. Every parameter on the Entity Bass drum is voltage controllable.

By applying a trigger of any length and at least 2V amplitude, we excite the resonant filter to produce a percussive sine wave. The pitch control tunes the output with a range of 8Hz to around 2.2KHz. Both higher and lower levels are achievable using the FM input for modulation etc. The internal filter will track 3-4 octaves reliably and the tracking device is temperature compensated.

The slope generator (ENV) can be switched into the circuit via the 3 way switch below the FM LVL control. This control is a bipolar attenuator which affects the level of the slope generator and/or external modulator that affects the pitch of the output.
The 3 way switch selects FM, FM+ENV or just ENV as a mod source.

The rise/fall envelope is a two stage function generator. The controls provide slope timing from 1ms to about a minute. To the right of these controls is the shaping section where logarithmic, linear and exponential slope shapes are selected independently for the two envelope stages.

The envelope is designed to re-trigger at a set point. This allows for changing dynamics to occur to pitch and amplitude when the slope times are greater than the output transient time. For instance the sound can vary between any number of triggers that fire before the envelope set point is reached. Setting the slope time fast enough (below roughly 1 o'clock) provides for nominal operation. Settings will vary depending on trigger and ring decay timing.

The envelope can also be used exclusively or in a more complex patch via a direct +ENV output. Additionally, a novel DUCK output provides a means to control external VCAs - to work like slow compressors. DUCK is an inverted and positively offset version of the +ENV out. This keeps VCAs open when the envelope is off and effectively 'ducks' the VCA when the envelope fires. Of course, mod sources for these outputs are not limited to VCAs...

BODY is a subtle, yet novel control. This control simulates the tightness of a drum head. All the way tight, we get a softer and somewhat muted sound, to the right we achieve a more flabby sound. The middle region is the sweet spot for a nearly perfect resonant drum. BODY can have a greater effect depending on the other parameters and can be very useful for fine tuning the sound in a mix and designing original drum sounds.

RING controls the resonant decay time. Both short and plucky and an infinite ring are obtainable. The filter is tuned so that it will always resonate a little, even when RING control is all the way down.

Before the output section, we have the discrete transistor saturation. We like this because of the vintage low end distortion from overdriven class-A discrete amplifiers. This one is tuned a bit more aggressively and just a touch is necessary to add some bite. However, you can go over the top and get brutal if you so desire... ;-)
The saturator will overdrive the output stage for more of a hard clipping effect that can be tuned out by adjusting the output level control without sacrificing signal amplitude - its a hot signal by intention.

The OUTPUT section is a parallel signal processor design. The OUTPUT control blends the nominal output with a secondary input (or nothing) depending on the 2 way switch setting below the control and/or whether an external signal is patched into the AMP CV input. In 'AMP' mode, the OUTPUT control works like a volume control. If a signal is active on the AMP CV input, the control will blend between the nominal output and the CV control level. Similarly, in 'ENV' mode we get the same blending action using the internal envelope.

The VCA can also be accessed directly via the A-MIX input. This allows you to use the output section as a standalone VCA (modulated via the envelope or not) or to mix other sounds with the Entity. Feedback patching is a possibility using a stackable or mult to feed the output into the A-MIX input. This produces a juicy distortion effect of a different flavour, you may like it.

The filter can be used independently or in combination with the nominal output via the F-MIX input. This input is used as an aux trigger input that is sensitive to pulse/trigger width. As the effect is less dramatic than the main trigger, dynamic rhythms are achievable using both inputs and creative triggering.

- With MASTER mode switched on, the oscillator responds to it's own CV input
- Oscillators 2 to 4: If Master LED is not lit, the oscillator responds to CV 1, with the pitch control adding +/-1 octave offset
- Oscillator 1 always responds to CV input; the other oscillators follow CV 1 if they are not set to Master
- When all 4 oscillator switches/lights are selected, the Quadnic is in unison mode and all oscillators follow CV 1; the front panel control affects all 4 oscillators
- To get all oscillators to same pitch, adjust the Pitch and Fine controls
- To get all oscillators to play the same sound (they are quite independent), adjust all controls
- All 4 OSC lights on, with Master selected or flashing: unison can detune massively up to 4 octaves
- All 4 OSC lights on, with master not selected: unison and Chord produce chords

4-stage Analog Shift Register (ASR) module with built-in quantizer & digital noise generator - 14HP
Notes: The E102 is a 4-tap delay for control voltages (a digital implementation of the Serge ASR - Analog Shift Register). There is also a digital noise generator with 8 different types of noise spectra. With no CV patched into the INPUT jack, the digital noise is sampled. Each clock pulse (internally set by RATE or patched into CLOCK IN) samples the INPUT and stores it as a 14-bit value. Successive clocks then shift the sampled voltage to the next output. The sampled voltage is shifted in the delay line as OUT1 > OUT2 > OUT3 > OUT4. A quad 14-bit DAC drives the outputs with an accuracy of <1mv.

A unique addition to the traditional ASR is the voltage-controlled DELAY. Selectable in 3 ranges, this adds delay stages in-between each output. For example, if DELAY was 2, then it would take 6 additional clocks for the OUT1 to "travel" down the delay line to appear at OUT4. The INPUT is sampled once for each clock, no matter what the DELAY is. The outputs can be quantized to whole-note steps.

The most common use of the E102 is having each OUT drive a VCO. If you have a step sequencer, then use the sequencer's clock into CLOCK IN and the sequencer's CV out to INPUT. The 4 OUTs will then generate a musical canon (like "Row Row Row Your Boat") when driving 4 VCOs. Each VCO will play the same note as the prior clocked output. This is of course assuming DELAY = 1. DELAY is not the same as a 'clock divider': when DELAY is not 1 (say it is 12), then every sample clock, the INPUT is fed into the delay. In this case there are 12 clock-delay stages between each out. If 0.25V was sampled and appears at OUT1, then 12 clocks later that same 0.25V appears at OUT2. There is no delay from INPUT to OUT1. The delays are OUT1 to OUT2, OUT2 to OUT3, and OUT3 to OUT4. OUT1 is a 'traditional' sample/hold.
