Analog Only (5:30)
Continuous Develop (6:30)
Keepin' It Jazz (5:20)
Looking Your Reflection In The Water (6:51)
What You Say? (4:51)
Review: Felipe Gordon is a core part of the Shall Not Fade label and he brings some super sweet jazz vibes to this crucial new 12". 'Analog Only' is pure Detroit soul, with bumping kicks and skyward synths that bring the cosmic rays. Showing his range, 'Continuous Develop' is a more leggy and funk-fuelled cut with more great chord work and 'Keepin' It Jazz' puts the mad keys front and centre, with lively hits and kicks underscoring the good-time vibes. Things slip back into a deeper groove akin to the work of Alton Miller on 'Looking Your Reflection In The Water' while 'What You Say?' closes on warm, romantic vocal house. Excellent EP.

Happy Sunday (3:14)
I'll Find A Way (5:26)
The Lichtenberg Effect (5:56)
You Can Do It On Your Own (2:03)
Review: It has always been hard to define the exact sounds of Shall Not Fade behind 'just good tunes'. The Bristol label is one of the UK's finest at this point and Felipe Gordon is exactly the sort of artists who fits their vibe. His new EP The Lichtenberg Effect is a timeless one that draws on jazz for its vibrant house kicks. The drums are raw and punchy on 'Happy Sunday' while the keys are off grid and wonky. 'I'll Find A Way' brings a little swing to get those hips moving while clipped vocals add some soul. The title cut is a blend of off-dance jazz chords and feathery hi hats with leggy drums and 'You Can Do It On Your Own' closes with some downbeat introspection.

Natural Born Climber EP
Natural Born Climber EP (limited translucent silver vinyl 12")
Cat: SNF 074. Rel: 11 Aug 22
The Love (7:39)
Da Ghent Life (5:58)
More Than Grateful (5:55)
Natural Born Climber (7:14)
Review: It seems like Shall Not Fade manage to put out killer new EPs every week. It is Felipe Gordon who is next up and he brings some late night and bumpy deep house stopped in plenty of steamy emotions, soulful grooves and sensuous vocals. And that is certainly the case with the opener 'The Love' which immediately draws you in. There is a more spangled funk feel to 'Da Ghent Life' while 'More Than Grateful' has a stylish jazz feel thanks to the wistful sax motifs and rubbery bass rotations. Last of all is the party starter - 'Natural Born Climber' with its bigger drums and hits and vamping pianos.

My Legs Are Numb EP
My Legs Are Numb EP (yellow marbled vinyl 12")
Cat: SNF 119. Rel: 16 May 24
My Legs Are Numb (6:04)
Sander's Journey (5:59)
Do You Ever Miss Me? (5:47)
A Perfectly Calmed Felipe (5:25)
Review: Felipe Gordon has long been a familiar presence on Shall Not Fade and now the cultured producer unveils his seventh release with the independent Bristol mainstays. His latest effort is My Legs Are Numb EP, a superb outing that very much embodies Felipe's signature style. His captivating house sounds is laid bare from the off with the Moodymann-channeling deep house intensity of 'My Legs Are Numb' and the more laid-back melodic vibes of 'Sander's Journey'. There is extra drive to the drums of 'Do You Ever Miss Me?' and a fine sultry sax that melts the soul and 'A Perfectly Calmed Felipe' is a nice jazzy vibe to end on.

Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Better Days" (5:38)
Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Cold Nights" (feat Ally McMahon) (5:58)
Felipe Gordon - "I'm On Fire" (5:53)
Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Late Nights" (5:29)
Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Out Love" (7:36)
Cody Currie - "No Future" (5:09)
Review: Shall Not Fade regular Felipe Gordon joins forces with Cody Currie for what is their first ever collaborative record. Atlantic Exchanges Vol. 1 is perfectly jazz infused house music of the highest order. Opener 'Better Days' immediately takes you to a steamy basement with lush broken beats and golden chords. 'Cold Nights' is more straight up but with rare musicality in the synths and 'I'm On Fire' then brings a rueful vocal house groove in which to get lost. The second half is just as high class with the elegant synths bringing real soul and heart.

1972 (7:07)
Dying (5:09)
The Answer (6:47)
The Answer (Session Victim remix) (6:23)
Review: A regular to the Shall Not Fade output, Columbian producer Felipe Gordon returns for a collaborative EP with Belgian artist, Krewcial, for a deep dive into their shared sonic world. An ode to their shared love of cycling, this EP traverses many textures and terrains, ascending into moments of brightness and descending into deep atmospheres. The first track, '1972', kicks off with an outer casing of flecked percussion, before the introduction of a driving, hill-climbing bass line. Track number two, 'Dying', features rousing choir vocals, bringing a gospel-sensibility to the firmly funk-tied bass line. On the B-side, 'Answer' has a careening melody with hints of nostalgia, side-stepping between satisfyingly clean kick drums and brusque snares. The flip also features a remix by Session Victim - a beautifully floaty reimagining of the more grounded original. A highly multifaceted release and a strong addition to Shall No Fade's already gleaming catalogue.

Review: Colombian Felipe Gordon has now established himself as one of deep house's most reliable and innovative artists. He has served up his tidy and tantalising grooves on Local Talk, SB Jamz, Lost Palms, Toy Tonics and Quintessentials as well as of course Shall Not Fade, which is where he now returns for a fantastic double album. It takes the extra length of the format into account by weaving in dreamy beat instrumentals, jazzy hip hop skits and plenty of his cuddly, warm and deep house grooves. Elastic and organic jam 'Walking Into The Unknown' is a fine collision of styles that sounds truly fresh.

After landing digitally late last year, Felipe Gordon's sophomore set, A Soundascape Onamatopeya, has finally made it to wax. This is undoubtedly a good thing for us vinyl enthusiasts, because it's arguably the strongest collection of cuts that the Colombian has assembled to date. In keeping with the personal production style that he's been developing over the last few years, the vibrant, colourful and atmospheric 12-track set does a terrific job in fusing elements of deep house and jazz-funk (particularly warming live instrumentation) with subtle nods to jazz, Dilla style instrumental hip-hop, Latin house, late-night club workouts and the bumpin' swing of New Jersey garage. In other words, it's a hugely entertaining affair that sounds as good on headphones as it does in the club.
