Review: Bristol label Shall Not Fade take us back to the old school with this monstrous new EP from Adelphi Music Factory. 'Area 39' is a big, hands in the air like you just don't care track with massive bouncing breaks, retro stabs and plenty of smiley culture motifs. 'Cuba' is a raucous piano house cut that never lets up and 'The Comedor' has big, over the top samples, characterful vocals and physical drum work that will blow the roof off any rave. 'Jura' closes down in driving fashion with a cantering kick drum and unrelenting synth line up top.

All Damn Nite (6:46)
Review: Adryiano Richter's trademark brand of dusty, sample-based deep house with strong funk/soul leanings has landed him a great reputation and releases on the likes of Heist, Soul Notes, his own Cestraw and current it label Shall Not Fade. This is actually his third release for the label in less than a year which is particularly impressive, we must say. The Dream With EP is possibly the German producer's finest offering yet; although probably only a child when the emerging sounds of French Touch came up in the late '90s, he's managed to recapture the zeitgeist incredibly well 20 years later. The funked-up soul power of "Got U Lovin" or the neon-lit rapture of the title track with their clever loops and crunchy SP1200 style drums would make legends like Cassius or Alan Braxe stand up and notice. The infectious DJ tool "All Damn Nite" calls to mind classic DJ Sneak or Phil Weeks.

Oh Not Again (5:34)
Review: For their latest dusty trip into late night dancefloor territory, the Shall Not Fade label has recruited experienced German producer Adriyano. In the past, he's released plenty of techno as well as deep house, so it's little surprise to find that bustling, ear-pleasing opener "Night Talk" - think drowsy U.S deep house with heavier and faster drums - drawing on both of these sounds. He shuffles a little closer to disco-house territory on the fluid but heavy "Arpmode Lingo", before doffing a cap to UK funky and classic Chez Damier productions on the thrusting "FKN Strings". He arguably leaves the best till last, with action-packed disco-house loop jam (think Soundstream) "Oh Not Again" likely to get the most rotations from DJs.

Review: French finesse with German fusion... Willis Anne makes his Shall Not Fade debut with this killer 'Movement' EP. As with previous missives on his LAN imprint, the beats roam and romp freely between footwork, jungle and ghetto-tek with strong twangs of Detroit bringing it all together. Highlights include the wonderful layers of organs and vibrant chords of 'Direct Effect' and the fully-swung breakbeats and bellowing sub of 'Unison'. Get moving.

Deejay Astral - "Never Gonna Let You Go" (5:06)
Review: 2015 was the year that marked the birth of Shall Not Fade, a largely anonymous label from somewhere on the Eastern borders of Europe - and that's all we need to know. They've come through with plenty of promising new talent since last year, and this latest EP is a collaborative effort from a further selection of new producers on the scene. Aries drops a delightful little house bomb in "You Make Me Wanna" - one for the garage heads or the lovers - while LK's "It's Been A Long Time" is a scorching disco bomb filled with neat little samples. The flip sees Steven BC go for a bittersweet approach on his tight little house bomb "Nice & Slow", leaving Deejay Astral to enter the deepness with the utterly lovely and vocal-led "Never Gonna Let You Go".

Imaginary Laughter (6:28)
Private Paradise (8:03)
Sunset Jam (4:45)
Review: The ever-impossible to pin down Shall Not Fade label welcomes back Baltra for a first EP since his last full outing in 2019. The NYC artist's Dreaming Of A Disco EP manages to be both fuzzy, lo-fi and nostalgic but also forward looking and fresh. He opens with hazy disco loops and shimmering 80s chords underpinned by a funky bassline that cannot fail to hook you in. There's a more pumping and sweaty house groove on 'Imaginary Laughter', blissed out Balearic vibes on 'Private Paradise' and gorgeously airy and organic jazz-funk stylings layered over a nice raw four-four beat on closer 'Sunset Jam.'

No Fear (6:16)
Review: Whether they're operating on Toy Tonics, Freerange, Madhouse or NeoVinyl, Black Loops rarely fail to deliver the deep house goods. Predictably, the Italian duo's Shall Not Fade label debut is another quality collection of cuts. Our pick of a very strong bunch is probably "Badmanthing", a quirky chunk of rubbery deep house-funk built around a bold, memorable bassline, eccentric electronics and tipsy chords, though the skipping drums, meaty bass and tweaked New Jersey garage motifs of "Plastikhaus" are also hugely alluring. Elsewhere, "No Fear" is a notable fusion of bounding house beats, darting jazz-funk synth sounds and simmering synth-strings, while EP opener "I Know You" is a more classic-sounding slab of deep house cheeriness.

Review: Shall Not Fade are in a real purple patch at the moment, and at the time they celebrate their 5th anniversary, too. This time they hand it over to Black Loops for a third outing on the label, and as ever it is high calibre dancing music. 'Mike The Dog' has elegant synth work that recalls early floating points over beats that sound like early Metro Area, but more house-y. There is also more punchy broken beat, sleek future house, crisp old school piano vibes on 'Dream2gether' and a kaleidoscopic melodic cut that will light up any party with 'Danse Sur L'Hardcore.'

Review: We'd say it was a smart move by Shall Not Fade snapping up an EP from Byron The Aquarius, but his track record is so good that there's little or no risk involved. The Atlanta-based producer has yet again delivered the goods, confidently striding crunchy analogue deep house jazziness (the synth-and-piano-laden opener "Feelings Is It Real"), 21st century broken house/jazz-funk fusion (the jacking drum machine fills, Kaidi synth motifs and acid squelch of "Age Of Ultron (featuring MDMA)", spacey deep techno futurism ("Techno Is Black (Respeck)"), woozy deep house warmth ("Falling In Love (Dub)") and intergalactic downtempo beats (classy closing cut "CyBoTrAx").

Review: As displayed on her recent Aus Music and Heist Recordings releases, CInthie Christl is more than adept at creating fresh cuts shot through with subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) references to US house cuts of the 1990s. She's on the tip once more on this surprise Shall Not Fade outing, first dousing a rolling house beat and undulating analogue bassline in spacey chords and riffs ('Tough Times'), before joining the dots between late 90s Strictly Rhythm dubs and bouncy New Jersey garage grooves on 'Shuffle & Swing'. Even better is 'Bossa', a fantastically dubby and sub-heavy slab of hypnotic peak-time deep house, while 'Time To F' is a more breezy and sun-splashed affair with restless riffs, squelchy bass and steppers-influenced deep house beats.

North West (Kaidi Tatham remix) (7:08)
Review: Given that Tom "Contours" Burford has spent much of the last year making collaborative cuts for Banana Hill that draw on tropical rhythms and native African musicianship, it's probably unsurprising that his return to Shall Not Fade should also feature some of the same influences. It's nominally a deep house EP, but the set's three original tracks are much more nuanced and open-minded than that. Check, for example, the layered hand percussion and polyrhythmic instrumentation on the jazz-funk influenced deep house brilliance of "Lisbon" and the tropical-tinged, intergalactic sci-fi house of "5th Planet". The B-side boasts two versions of "North West": the lilting horns, music box melodies and soft-touch percussion of Burford's original, and the Herbie Hancock inspired bruk-up business of Kaidi Tatham's superb revision.

This 10" brings all the classic Detroit deep house elements togetherilush synths, smooth vocals, and rolling drum patternsicrafting a track that feels timeless. Powerful Woman (Chicago Skyway remix) (6:12)
Review: Shall Not Fade has proven over the last five plus years that whatever sounds it turns its hand to it does with style. Mostly that is deep house and garage but here we have some warehouse-ready techno from Dasco. 'Powerful Woman' has mid-tempo drums that are run through with a supple and subtle acid line and repeated vocal phrasings that lock you into the trip. 'Acid Queen' jacks a bit more, with raw analogue drums and vintage cow bell sounds before the 303 takes over, then Johannes Volk really bangs the box with his hardcore house remix, full of splintered kicks and dusty hi hats. Chicago Skyway brings plenty of Windy City texture to his version.

Review: Although Salzburg sort Bernhard "Demuja" Weiss has previously released music on Shall Not Fade offshoot Lost Palms, this is the first time he's appeared on Kieran Williams' main label. He's delivered the goods, offering up a rock solid five-track EP that flits between loose and languid deepness (breezy opener "Do It"), locked-in late night grooves (the muscular beats, heavy bass and poignant piano samples of "Jito"), spacey, synth-laden deep house positivity (the sparkling "Can't Stop"), jazz-funk influenced mid-tempo house warmth ("Those Who") and Detroit techno influenced dancefloor futurism (the elongated deep space chords, ragged acid lines and bustling beats of "Tokyo").

Review: If new talent is your thing, Shall Not Fade has long been a label to watch. While the Bristol-based imprint does sign material from established artists, it consistently promotes music from new or early career producers too. Daughters of Frank, a pair of sisters from London, are the latest rising stars to make their bow on the label. Their debut EP is genuinely impressive, too, delivering a mix of hallucinatory, spaced-out liquid drum and bass ('A Club Serenade'), stripped-back and fiendishly sub-heavy workouts seemingly informed by the skeletal construction and dub-wise weight of bleep techno (EP highlight 'Tracksuit'), giddily saucer-eyed, early morning anthems-in-waiting (the sunrise special that is 'Velvet'), and deep, spaced-out two-step garage (the heady and intoxicating 'Lust 2 Luv').

Review: Irish production powerhouse Ejeca is back on Shall not Fade with another pummelling five track Ep of his house, trance, techno and electro fusions. 'Lacer' opens up with a high speed cosmic groove rippled with melodies. 'Make Me' then gets old school and deep with its vamping bassline and throwback vocals primed to get lungs busting. 'Raser' flip the script again with peak time techno strobe lit and raring to go then 'Sunburst' is a high speed, soulful melodic banger that leaves you exhausted. But no worry, because closer 'Walk You Home' comforts you on a sun kissed Balearic house vibe.

Same Tune (Andres remix) (5:38)
Review: Shall Not Fade has rightly become one of the most lauded labels in deep house over the last couple of years. It's perhaps fitting, then, that they've snapped up rising stars Anthony Fade. The sometime Lost Palms and House Crime duo hit the ground running with the rolling, horn-toting deep house warmth of "Champagne Paradise", which also makes use of some choice vocal samples from a Larry Levan produced boogie era classic. "Creepin" is an altogether jazzier deep house experience - think bustling drums and rich Rhodes riffs - while "Same Tune" sounds a little like Moodymann after a few extra-strong zoots. Fittingly, Detroit producer Andres contributes a tasty remix of the latter, upping the energy levels while adding some snaking synth lines and soulful samples of his own.

Review: Aus alumni Rob Glassett brings his Fold feels to Shall Not Fade: four tracks of jazz-tinged classically trained house music that nods heavily towards the Chicago sound. "Alan Whickers" pumps with a big filtered sensation that doubles up into quite a punch on the second drop, "Knickerbocker Ave" is as tasty as it sounds with a light broken feel to the drums and delicate jazz piano loop while "Doin' Bits" is grounded in more of a NYC house feel with its insistent vocal sample rises and relentless groove. Need a little 23rd century soul? Look no further than Will & Ink's Frits Wentink remix. Vibes.

Review:  Daniel Leseman and Hans Peeman a.k.a. Junktion are Four, and they have been serving up lovely house tunes together since 2015. Here they make their debut on Shall Not Fade with five more helpings of dance floor dynamite. 'Paradise' is a funky instrumental number with clattering drums and vamp chords bringing a jazz feel. 'Next Summer' then sinks into a much smoother groove that is deep and perfect for sunset sessions. There is prickly broken beat energy to 'Tough Love' and some brilliantly work keyboard magic on filter house cut 'Late Night Snack' before 'Drugged Out' is a wonky and off kilter disco tinged jam.

Review: The high class Shall Not Fade welcomes equally sophisticated and accomplished deep house don Fred P for another of his superbly heady outings on lush purple vinyl. 'High Rise' finds Fry in fine form and layering up dynamic drums with majestic chords and swirling instrumentation that is grand in scale. 'Only Subs' has a little more thump to it with wispy vocals and chords swirling round over the hefty and hypnotic drums and 'Get It On' has a more slick feel with its warped leads and fragmented vocals. Last of all is a Rhythms In The Place beats edit of 'Only Subs' for more direct deployment.

Review: Felipe Gordon is a core part of the Shall Not Fade label and he brings some super sweet jazz vibes to this crucial new 12". 'Analog Only' is pure Detroit soul, with bumping kicks and skyward synths that bring the cosmic rays. Showing his range, 'Continuous Develop' is a more leggy and funk-fuelled cut with more great chord work and 'Keepin' It Jazz' puts the mad keys front and centre, with lively hits and kicks underscoring the good-time vibes. Things slip back into a deeper groove akin to the work of Alton Miller on 'Looking Your Reflection In The Water' while 'What You Say?' closes on warm, romantic vocal house. Excellent EP.

The Love (7:39)
Da Ghent Life (5:58)
More Than Grateful (5:55)
Natural Born Climber (7:14)
Review: It seems like Shall Not Fade manage to put out killer new EPs every week. It is Felipe Gordon who is next up and he brings some late night and bumpy deep house stopped in plenty of steamy emotions, soulful grooves and sensuous vocals. And that is certainly the case with the opener 'The Love' which immediately draws you in. There is a more spangled funk feel to 'Da Ghent Life' while 'More Than Grateful' has a stylish jazz feel thanks to the wistful sax motifs and rubbery bass rotations. Last of all is the party starter - 'Natural Born Climber' with its bigger drums and hits and vamping pianos.

My Legs Are Numb (6:04)
Sander's Journey (5:59)
Do You Ever Miss Me? (5:47)
A Perfectly Calmed Felipe (5:25)
Review: Felipe Gordon has long been a familiar presence on Shall Not Fade and now the cultured producer unveils his seventh release with the independent Bristol mainstays. His latest effort is My Legs Are Numb EP, a superb outing that very much embodies Felipe's signature style. His captivating house sounds is laid bare from the off with the Moodymann-channeling deep house intensity of 'My Legs Are Numb' and the more laid-back melodic vibes of 'Sander's Journey'. There is extra drive to the drums of 'Do You Ever Miss Me?' and a fine sultry sax that melts the soul and 'A Perfectly Calmed Felipe' is a nice jazzy vibe to end on.

Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Late Nights" (5:29)
Felipe Gordon & Cody Currie - "Out Love" (7:36)
Cody Currie - "No Future" (5:09)
Review: Shall Not Fade regular Felipe Gordon joins forces with Cody Currie for what is their first ever collaborative record. Atlantic Exchanges Vol. 1 is perfectly jazz infused house music of the highest order. Opener 'Better Days' immediately takes you to a steamy basement with lush broken beats and golden chords. 'Cold Nights' is more straight up but with rare musicality in the synths and 'I'm On Fire' then brings a rueful vocal house groove in which to get lost. The second half is just as high class with the elegant synths bringing real soul and heart.

The Ride EP
The Ride EP (pink marbled vinyl 12")
Cat: SNF 086. Rel: 25 May 23
1972 (7:07)
Dying (5:09)
The Answer (6:47)
The Answer (Session Victim remix) (6:23)
Review: A regular to the Shall Not Fade output, Columbian producer Felipe Gordon returns for a collaborative EP with Belgian artist, Krewcial, for a deep dive into their shared sonic world. An ode to their shared love of cycling, this EP traverses many textures and terrains, ascending into moments of brightness and descending into deep atmospheres. The first track, '1972', kicks off with an outer casing of flecked percussion, before the introduction of a driving, hill-climbing bass line. Track number two, 'Dying', features rousing choir vocals, bringing a gospel-sensibility to the firmly funk-tied bass line. On the B-side, 'Answer' has a careening melody with hints of nostalgia, side-stepping between satisfyingly clean kick drums and brusque snares. The flip also features a remix by Session Victim - a beautifully floaty reimagining of the more grounded original. A highly multifaceted release and a strong addition to Shall No Fade's already gleaming catalogue.
