Review: Michael League's Brooklyn-based instrumental fusion machine Snarky Puppy are back on GroundUP with a new opus of epic arrangements and hard funk. As a crw committed to documenting their live process through gig recordings and live streams alike, it's no surprise to find this album - penned as a love letter to Dallas, reportedly - was captured in the moment. That's testament to the staggering skill of all concerned, from League at the helm to each and every player across this epic ensemble cast. The great thing is you can also check in on the video from each session and see the very moment these tracks got laid down, just in case you needed convincing how absolutely legit the Snarks really are.

Review: Snarky Puppy are much celebrated five-time Grammy Award winners whose ever-popular album Sylva no gets a special reissue. This re-release comes on nice heavyweight double vinyl and as well as including the six original cuts, it also takes in two alternate takes of 'The Curtain' and 'The Clearing.' Although it was originally released by Impulse! Records, this new version comes via GroundUP Music who have cut it from the original masters. It makes for a superb revisiting of a classic jazz album with the added bonus of a couple of different perspectives.
