Review: Danza Nativa is rightly celebrating its fifth anniversary recently and now follows up the first part of its anniversary compilation with part two, featuring tunes from across a broad spectrum. The first side delves into tribal rhythms and strident synths with Amandra keeping it stripped back and minimal and Dino Sabatini going deep and dubby on 'Danza Tribale'. Polygonia and Plants Army Revolver then set your mind free to wander among lush sound designs and captivating rhythms that head deep into a humid and futurist jungle.

Review: On Board Music is back with a fifth Various Artists EP that explores the outer edges of the techno universe. Prolific, ambient, techno and drum & bass don ASC kicks off with a weighty collaboration with Semblance. Their 'Impulse' is a dubby, bubbly rhythmic roller then Nuversion ups the dub for his atmospheric and heady cut 'Impression.' On the B-side, Polygonia's deft melodic touch is on show with the loopy and beautiful 'Veluo' and then Morphing Territories shuts down with the late night backroom sounds of 'Black Pearls'. This is another heady and well rounded EP from the ever excellent On Board.

Review: MBMUSIC Ltd is a fledging label that serves up its first various artist release here. It is an enthralling five-tracker that opens up with the ocean-deep atmospheric techno of Daniel[i]'s 'Contemplate.' MBM then gets more busy with the percussive clatter of 'Crystalline' and Polygonia's aqueous dub techno roller 'Pearl Of Nian' is another unusual sound that draws you in deep. Toki Fuko's '9128' is more menacing and sounds like a deserted factory floor after all the staff have left and V?RYA's 'Dome' is a twitchy and restless broken beat excursion that has you looking over your shoulder.

Review: Polygonia's deftly enchanting "Bloom" unravels with the melancholic blur of a waking dream. Conjuring the vivid echoes of a phantom forest, fluttering atmospheres swirl amidst shimmering voices as they compel the mind to wander. A remix from Forest Drive West deepens the spell, stretching the punctate rhythm of "Dreaming Trees" into a siren's call, a beguiling echo rippling beneath the flow of time.

Review: Further Sessions continues the good work it has done over the course of its first fourth EPs with a third instalment in its Vivendum series. It is a various artists offering on transparent silver marbled vinyl that opens with some sublimely supple and bass-driven deep techno with meandering leads. Forest On Stasys keeps it deep and dubby on 'Altus' though scatters in some tin pot percussive sounds and Atomic Moog ups the intensity a touch with shapeshifting drones over thudding kicks that are looped to perfection on 'Time Perspective'. A moment of uplift and optimism comes with the heavenly pads and more quick stepping drums of Artjom Schmidt's 'Silver Clouds'. Stylish stuff.

Review: After the inaugural EP from Berlin-based collective Melantonia by the label's co-founders founders Hanna Maria and Mattia Onori, together with Feral and Plants Army Revolver, they're back with the first episode of a VA series "exploring uncharted sonic realms". The results check in somewhere between techno and ambient, harnessing the best of both. So Andrea Cossu's 'Ossia' pulsates with a Geiger Counter beat reminiscent of early Panasonic/Pansonic, Simone Bauer's 'Halo' is like Plaid doing dub and Camilla Pisani's 'Schenk Mir Deine Trane' uses field recordings and the distant strain of melancholic melody, all three, like everyone here, creating something fresh and previously unheard.

Review: With Pattern Gardening, London-after-Leeds imprint Wisdom Teeth yank out an extra gnasher we didn't know we had. As has always been the case, label heads Facta and K-Lone could be said to have curated and curetted a new compilation from the joint dentist's chair, exacting a 22-track root canal with periodontal precision, nearly doubling the size of their V/A ambit since 2024's Club Moss. But on this selective six-track sampler for wax, we've only a further sanding down of a much larger minimal, micro and tech house selection; here's gummy textures and maxillary moods by Polygonia, rRoxymore, Lurka, Sub Basics, and newcomer Jichael Mackson. Clarity and sound design are top priorities, as is the ideal of whitened teeth flashed by the poolside. Snappy, Rhodesy, watery.

Review: Limping on Clouds is an EP that has come about after a deep collaboration between Polygonia and Shoal. The A-side features individual tracks from each artist starting with Shoal's 'Majola' which opens with layered breaks and a deep, rolling bass. It is followed by Polygonia's 'Repeat,' which is rich with kinetic energy, rhythmic layers and ethereal vocal samples. The B-side then features a superb coming together of the two and a great blend of their styles on 'Pendulum,' which is a lush ambient track with a subtle organic rhythm. The EP closes on a downtempo note with the title track enveloping you in a dreamy and atmospheric soundscape that perfectly complements the record's overall mood.

Review: Rrose and Polygonia's collaboration, Dermatology, on EAUX, stands as a robust statement in the techno genre. This heavyweight pairing of producers brings forth a selection of tracks that push the boundaries of sound and rhythm. Highlights include 'Stretcher,' which sets the tone with its heavy, industrial essence and mechanical precision, drawing the listener into a relentless sonic landscape. 'Inhaler' follows, infusing sinister, alien sounds with a broken beat, creating an otherworldly atmosphere that keeps the energy unpredictable and intense. 'Haima' introduces a dubby, tribal element, grounding the album with earthy rhythms and intricate textures. The journey concludes with 'Vena Cava,' a sci-fi ambient closer that transports the listener into a futuristic soundscape, offering a contemplative end to the powerful story ender. Dermatology showcases the duo's ability to craft immersive and dynamic techno.
