Review: Mark de Clive-Lowe's Six Degrees was first released in 2000 and now returns as a vital reissue to mark its 25th anniversary. It's a still-groundbreaking fusion of jazz-fusion, Afro-Cuban rhythms, jungle, hip-hop and broken beat that chronicles de Clive-Lowe's musical journey from Havana to London to Tokyo. With Rhodes, synths and MPC at the core, he blends live musicianship and electronic beats into soulful, genre-defying tracks like 'Roundtrip,' 'La Zorra' and 'Day By Day.' It is thoroughly personal and inventive and harks back to a pivotal moment in future jazz's evolution while the reissue reaffirms its place as a seminal early electronic-jazz hybrid.

Review: Although he initially broke through decades ago as a talented keyboardist- a role he still performs alongside his work as a solo producer - Mark de Clive-Lowe has always been much more than a prodigious musician-for-hire. That was particularly evident on 2021's Hotel San Claudio album, a musical meeting of minds with Shigeto and Melanie Charles. It shines through loud and clear on Past Present (Tone Poems Through Time)', an inspired collection of 'tone poems' - musical pieces that draw direct inspiration from the landscape - created using an electric piano, an enormous list of mostly vintage synthesisers, and field recordings captured on a trip to his father's native Japan. Sitting somewhere between ambient jazz, the epic synth-scapes of Tangerine Dream and the most vivid movie soundtracks, Past Present is emotive, immersive and effortlessly evocative.

Review: Here's a project to get all spiritual jazz devotees in a lather - a masterful meeting of minds between Mark de Clive Lowe, Shigeto and Melanie Charles. De Clive Lowe is an accomplished pianist straddling jazz, hip-hop and house, while Shigeto is the drummer best known for his crunchy take on low slung beats. Charles is a next level singer, flautist and songwriter most readily associated with Verve Records, and her energy leads this incredible exploration of works by Pharaoh Sanders alongside their own compositions. Just check the truly ascendant version of 'the Creator Has A Master Plan', which more than does justice to a piece of music many might consider untouchable. Truly magic.

Collaborating with renowned remixers who operate at the jazz-electronic crossroads, they present 'Ten Acres' with a remarkable remix by Mark de Clive Lowe.
