Open Space EP (reissue) (limited transparent green vinyl 12")

Deep House
Sea Of Desire (5:58)
Espresso (7:23)
Where The Wolves Once Roamed (5:18)
Where The Wolves Return (6:03)
Review: Formed in Edinburgh in the early 90s, Fresh & Low helped define the UK's take on deep house with a dusty, groove-led sound that bridged warmth and restraint. This reissue digs up a lesser-known 1997 session and restores it with fresh mastering. 'Sea of Desire' sets the tone-loose, late-night and dubby, with floating pads and barely-there vocal textures. 'Espresso' picks up the pace with more rhythmic bounce and filtered chord work, while the B-side doubles down on mood: 'Where The Wolves Once Roamed' and 'Where The Wolves Return' feel hypnotic and half-submerged, tapping into that same smoked-out headspace as early Chicago or Prescription. One for fans of deep simplicity done right.

Techno
Cherry Blossom (6:55)
Timbit Acid (8:35)
Beaver Tail (7:02)
All Dressed (5:31)
Review: Jordan GCZ, who you may remember as half of JuJu & Jordash, brings a jazz sensibility to his take on techno. It's crafted on an array of outboard gear and dusty of synths, which lends it such a lovely, lived-in quality. His melodies are always meaningful, too, whether futuristic or nostalgic. There is a hint of the latter to the opener which has a whimsical charm over dusty house beats. 'Timbit Acid' is a wonkier workout with warped 303s, 'Beaver Tail' showcases masterful synth patterns and glisten pads that soften the speedy beats and 'All Dressed' is a nice twist on early Detroit techno with more freeform leads.

Feels So Good EP
Cat: RMCE 027. Rel: 22 Apr 25

Deep House
Next 1 (6:46)
Can't Master (6:57)
Feel So Good (6:49)
Feel So Good (dub) (5:40)
Review: Generously filtered, aerated and pressuristic, Alton Miller's latest, and third overall, record for Rawax is a rare breed of sci-fi sonority. 'Feels So Good' starts on an unassuming note before slowly evidencing a dark-horse talent for harmony and piano playing, with 'Next 1' bringing a fusion of French house frisson and sound-designed sunstroke synths; it's only by the undulant depths of 'Can't Master' that we chance upon piquant piano flourishes and standout retrosynth swells. Echoes of 70s dub converge on two versions of the B-side's 'Feel So Good', across which a beckon-calling MC maunders astep an effortless 4x4 flow.

Tia (reissue)
Cat: RV 04. Rel: 15 May 25

Minimal/Tech House
Echt Rot (7:47)
Tia (10:02)
Feuerwasser (5:49)
Review: In the formative years of his career in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Ricardo Villalobos frequently utilised a handful of alternative production aliases - first Minta Spacew (one EP way back in 1993) and then more frequently Richard Wolfsdorf. Tia, first released way back in 2000, was the Chilean minimal maestro's second outing under that alias and has become a sought-after EP in recent times - hence this Rawwax reissue. A-side 'Echt Rot' is typically Playhouse-era Villalobos, with cut-up vocalisations, odd noises and spaced-out electronic snippets riding a crunchy minimal-house beat and looped, mind-mangling TB-303 bassline. Title track 'Tia' features simmering orchestral samples clustering around a typically wonky, stripped-back beat, while 'Feurwasser' sounds like the blueprint for many of his later minimal techno workouts.
