Review: This 12-inch picture disc version of Madonna's 'Erotica' single (taken from the concept album about sex and romance of the same name) is a thing to behold. It arrives, finally, courtesy of Warmer Music and is in honour of the tune's 30th anniversary. The picture on the vinyl is from Madge's Sex book but was withdrawn before it actually got released back in 1992. Three versions are presented here - the original album version, plus an instrumental and a radio edit.

Review: Second time around for Madonna's Finally Enough Love box set, which celebrates the iconic artist's unique achievement of notching up no less than 50 number ones on the Billboard Dance chart - the first artist in history to do so. In effect, it's a celebration of her Madgesty's links with dance music culture, showcasing 40 years of popular reworks of her biggest hits, presented in a 'rainbow edition' box set where each of the six slabs of wax is pressed onto different coloured vinyl. So, alongside classic early hits and reworks from 1987 remix album You Can Dance, we get revisions by everyone from Junior Jasquez, Jellybean, Shep Pettinone and Pet Shop Boys, to William Orbit, Aviici, Felx De Housecat, Jacques Lu Cont and Tracey Young. Review: This second posthumous album from the late Mac Miller dropped in 2018 after being recorded but never released back in 2014. In some ways, it joins the dots between his early career style - an earnest rapper with plenty of attitude - and the more thoughtful songwriter he became in later life. There is still plenty of sadness and melancholy hidden between the beats and amongst the lines of these tunes which are built on keys, drums and bass with only the subtlest of production tweaks. 'Do You Have A Destination?' is a richly layered sound with fragment vocals, 'Stoned' is woozy and deep with gorgeous guitar licks, 'Funny Papers' showcases Mac's unique vocal stylings over more trad beats and 'Manakins' is another smudged late night sound with a heartfelt undertone.

Review: Originally released in 2016, just one year after his major label breakout GO:OD AM; the fourth LP from the late, great Mac Miller showcased a remarkable pivot from quick-witted, slightly offensive alternative hip-hop bangers to a more introspective and vulnerable style of neo-r&b. Written whilst in a relationship with pop megastar Ariana Grande (who also features on the record as well as being credited for the inspiration to the track 'Cinderella'), the project focuses on both external romantic love as well as love of the self and one's surroundings. With an impressive guestlist featuring Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak and Ty Dolla Sign, and exuding Miller's first declarative foray into more nuanced, melodic and lush soundscapes, the album remains an outlier in an immensely expansive discography, which sadly still feels as if it was only just beginning to blossom before Miller's tragic and untimely passing.

Review: The reissue of Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie gives a new audience the opportunity to discover Alanis Morissette's intriguing and often overlooked follow-up to Jagged Little Pill. Released during a turbulent time in the music industry, this album was initially overshadowed by the towering success of its predecessor. However, with its diverse soundscapes and deeply personal lyrics, the record has aged into something truly unique. Morissette's voice is richer and more mature here, moving beyond the iconic style she established in her earlier work. Tracks like 'Baba' and 'Thank U' show her knack for blending introspection with biting commentary, while songs like 'That I Would Be Good' and 'Unsent' reveal her reflective side and a deeper look into her search for self-understanding amid fame's pressures. The album's eclectic mix of stylesifrom the trip-hop influence on 'Would Not Come' to the electro-tinged 'So Pure'ihighlights Morissette's willingness to experiment. After the commercial failure of his previous album 'Astral Weeks' (1968), Morrison moved to upstate New York with his wife and began writing songs for 'Moondance'. With the help of none other than 'Mutt' Lange in the producer's chair, the Teignmouth three-piece make a record with an epic scope and grandstanding aplomb that could put it in the ring with any of the stadium acts he's worked with in times of yore. Review: It was recently Elon Musk who told us that there's a "one in billions" chance that we're not living in a computer simulation right now, and to popularise that theory even more Warner presents Muse at arguably their biggest. It's the mega-band's follow-up to their 2015 Drones LP and Nostradamus-like themes are once again at play in the subtle neo-anarchist tendencies of Muse's end of the world sound, although this time around electronic, EDM and Tron influences are at the forefront of their production. A distinctly colourful, vibrant and hyperactive listen compared to their last full length, and seemingly light years on from their seminal 2001 album, Origin Of Symmetry, Muse send us streaming into a new void that's as exhilarating and it is terrifying.
